ORAS OU mega beedrill volt-turn team

I decided to build a team around a volt-turn core of beedrill & Thundurus-T. Not exactly sure what the exact percentage is but a large majority of teams usually feature mega loppuny or mega gallade with the banning of megagross and I decided I wanted to use something that would give me a slight advantage against them (well mostly from a speed tier point of view) so I decided to use mega beedrill which I had no experience with. Most people pair it up with Rotom-w to form a volt turn core but I decided to continue the glass cannon-like theme and use specs thundurus-T because it's volt switch hits really hard, it sits at a respectable 101 base speed and has a great ability in volt absorb which is handy for the plethora of rotom's running around. Then I decided to use magic guard calm mind Clefable because I completely and utterly despise mega sableye and stall in general and clefable is a psuedo-pivot into almost every dragon/fighting type and scarf hydreigon is quite common which beedril sadly can't outspeed. Next I decided to patch up some of my weaknesses and added ferrothorn, he resist's psychic, rock, steel and posion which covers the other's weaknesses and sets stealth rocks. My team really appreciates the removal of stealth rocks and because my team is offensive in nature I decided on healing wish latias. The last slot I've been playing around with quite a bit but I've kind of settled on scarf final gambit/reckless staraptor, just for the surprise factor.

Beedrill@ beedrilite
Ability: Sniper
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk / 44 Def / 212 Spe
- Protect
- Drill Run
- U-turn
- Poison Jab

I chose beedril simply because it is faster than lopunny and the vast majority of the unscarfed metagame (and some scarfed such as tyranitar). 212 speed EVs outspeeds scarfed heatran and the rest goes in defense in order to take priority moves a little better as well as capitalize on it's quad resistance to fighting and rarely grass. The moveset is pretty much standard, protect to scout and mega-evo safely( and laugh at lopunny's attempt to fake-out ) drill run is mostly for heatran but late game when you don't need beedrill anymore it can be used to dent other things that resist its stabs.

Thundurus-T Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
Nature: Timid
0 Attack IV
EVs: 4Def / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
- Volt Switch
-Hidden Power (Flying)
-Incinerate
-Grass Knot (used to be Focus Blast)

I love this thing sooo much!! I really get tired of using Rotom-w and I'm a big fan of power so who better than the guy sporting a base SpAtk of 145? I chose Choice specs over scarf because most people expect the scarf set and switch anyway and volt switch ends up putting a huge dent in everything that's not ground type while giving me momentum. I can never stress enough how amazing HP flying is though I was a little disappointed with the HP nerf. It still 2HKO's scizor even if it mega evolves after the first one (haven't run the calculations but I did it to a mega scizor twice). generally I'll only be spamming volt switch or HP flying so the other two moves are just coverage. incinerate is for ferrothorn hoping to tank a volt-switch or predicting a HP ice. Hp flying also deals hefty damage so it's kind of irrelevant. I used to have focus blast in the last slot for tyranitar but after a couple of battles I decided to opt for grass knot because of quagsire, mega swampert, seismitoad & hippowdon

Clefable Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: calm
0 Attack IV
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 SpDef
- Calm Mind
- Softboiled
- Moonblast
- flamethrower

I've kind of said this already but it can never be mentioned enough how much I dislike sableye (and stall) so I chose Clefable who is truly underrated in my opinion. OHKO'ing mega gallade and capable of taking a poison jab to the face from it too. The set is pretty standard but agagin and again I find that I almost never use flamethrower and ferrothorn isn't a threat to my team so I might replace it with something like heal bell or protect, maybe even stealth rock and then replace ferrothorn. One thing I have noticed is that weakness policy agility metagross can set-up on clefable and shred my team.

Staraptor @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
- Final Gambit
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Double Edge

A bit of a gimmick I'll be honest but I believe it's just as powerful as explosion was in the earliest generations AND most people are predicting bird spam and send in their rotom or whatever which is then removed from the game. I chose scarf over band because I put the evs in HP and generally if I'm not going to use final gambit, I'm either going to revenge kill or u-turn. I don't think I've ever used double-edge.

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
Nature: Relaxed
0 Speed IV
EVs: 252 Hp / 88Def / 168 SpD
- Stealth Rocks
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Gyro Ball

I chose ferrothorn to use as a pivot for the team because it's resists most of my teams weaknesses and the chip damage from rocky helmet/iron barbs and hopefull stealh rocks will be enough to start OHKO'ing with Beedrill/thundurus mid-late game. I chose the leech seed set over power whip because almost everything resists grass and the passive damage from leech seed as well as recovery was appealing though one woukd argue leftovers would be better with protect I like to think the rocky helmet contributes to the volt-turn core with the extra passive damage.

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Draco Meteor
- psyshock
- defog
- Healing Wish

Latias is my mandatory hazard remover. Thundurus, beedrill and staraptor to a certain extent appreciate the removal of stealth rock and because the team is offensive I chose latias over the slower mons who are pretty much set-up bait because Clefable is easy to set-up on already. It really annoys me that latios can't learn healing wish -.-

Ummm mega metagross wasn't banned it was suspected. Its still in ou. Anyway Staraptor shouldn't be running max hp. You need attack investment for staraport to actually be able to do anything. If you don't like double edge close combat is another option that allows you to hit thing like heatran and Tyranitar which would normal wall you. Clefable doesn't get Serene Grace I'm assuming you meant magic guard. Latias should doesn't really need max special attack. Its better to invest more in its bulk.

Well it's banned atm on the server I use. Sorry I completely gave up on this team because I wasn't getting any feedback.

If I wanted to use staraptor for birdspam, talonflame would better fulfil that role.

252 HP Final gambit kills all offensive variants of tyranitar and Heatran and leaves 248 HP Heatran with 11hp and 252 HP tyranitar with 30hp Tyranitar has 404HP and only barely survives with max investment so it's safe to say only a dedicated wall will survive it and if it does it's walling ability is pretty much gone and cores that would otherwise be problematic such as volt-turn cores are easily dealt with seeing as the likes of defensive Rotom-W are usually sent in to take a predicted brave bird (though staraptor doesn't need any HP investment to OHKO Rotom) but like I said it was a gimmick.

Thank you for taking the time to give me some feedback though I really appreciate it, I just wanted to make a team based around thundurus/beedril that would be fun to play with, obviously I'll have to make something a little more serious next time in order to get feedback on it.
