ORAS OU Mega Diancie Regen Balance

What's up guys this will be my 3rd RMT. This time I built around Mega Diancie, without further ado here is the team!

I am going to try to remember why i added the members i did because i made this team a while back lol

Waifu (Diancie-Mega) @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 16 Atk / 240 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Diamond Storm
- Moonblast
- Earth Power
- Protect

This is the mon i wanted to build the team around, because I made this team during the Mega Gross suspect and Mega Diancie was wrecking havoc (stilll is though). I went with protect as the 4th move because i find it too be the most consistent and reliable. I am fairly positive that this Diancie spread is the most common spread, and tbh i do not know what it does so no need to explain that.

Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 132 HP / 160 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane

Tbh i added this because i wanted to use Tornadus-T for awhile now so i figured i would just throw it on and kind of build around Mega Diancie and Tornadus-T. I went with the standard bulky AV set because with Regenerator it is one of the best pivots in the tier imo. Heat wave over Focus Blast because this team is not a fan of Scizor and Ferrothorn, and fuck Focus Blast.

Genie (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 240 SpD / 16 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Healing Wish

I then chose SpD Jirachi because the team needed a Lati@s switch in, and Jirachi provides a lot of support with Healing Wish and Stealth Rock. It is also a pretty nice pivot with U-Turn. Iron Head is mandatory on every rachi set (bar CM). I went with 16 Spe EVs Jolly because having 240 SpD EVs gives you more SpD than 144 SpD EVs gives you while speed creeping + base 70's.

Broken (Landorus) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Sludge Wave
- Calm Mind

Next I went with Landorus-i. Tbh why wouldn't you use Landorus-i? There is little reason not too lol. Landorus-i also gave meanother flying immunity, and a needed Electric immunity. I went with this set because as of now my team does not do that well against stall, so CM Landorus-i + Healing wish basically destroys stall lacking Cresselia and Mega Latias (neither are that common).

MLP (Keldeo-Resolute) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Bug]

Next I went with Keldeo because I needed a scarfer, and Scald is amazing. I went with Scarf because I think every team needs a scarfer too revenge kill effectively, and scarf Keldeo is a good revenge killer. I went with HP Bug over Icy Wind or HP Electric because all of Keldeos switch ins (for the most part) are hit by HP Bug for SE damage, and Celebi is kind of a problem for this team.

Fungirl (Amoonguss) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spe
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Clear Smog
- Hidden Power [Fire]

I then with went Amoonguss because I wanted to use balance as it is my preferred playstyle, and Amoonguss gives me a Keldeo switch in (No scald burn pls @_@). I used to have Foul Play over HP Fire, but HP Fire lets me hit Scizor so it doesnt set up in my face. I could use Foul Play over Clear Smog but CM Clefable and CM'ers in general can give this team problems.

Mega Metagross: When is this guy not a problem. I have to win a speed tie with Mega Diancie, or revenge him with Keldeo or Tornadus-T.

Landorus-i: Why is this thing still allowed .-. If it RP's and Tornadus-T is weakened then i get swept. If not i can revenge him.

There is definitely more threats too this team I am just too lazy to write them down or i haven't ran into them yet.

Hey, man. Diggin' this team! Honestly I don't have much to suggest for it, but I could suggest a few brush-ups.
Firstly, I can imagine this team would crumble to a good offensive team pretty badly, it just looks like it would have a hard time keeping up with the pressure since it looks neither offensive enough nor defensive enough to really threaten it too much. At the very least you need a contingency plan. As such, I'd suggest Rock Polish Lando above Calm Mind. RP still has the ability to break walls while also threatening offence much more with his greater speed and power to keep a leg up so you have a much better fighting chance. It would give you more chance to deal with Megagross too if you set up, unlike CM which gets outsped and dies to Ice Punch.
Mega Venu could be a pain in the ass too. Torn is really your best answer for it, and like with opposing Lando-I, if Torn is gone then you're pretty ballsed. For that I'd suggest Psychic over Sludge Wave on Lando too. You have a Rachi and an Amoongus which can threaten various Fairies, and Mega Diancie can murk quite a few too, I think you're stocked on contingencies for them. Psychic can hurt Mega Venu much more as well as threaten opposing Scarfed Kelds after an RP, Earth Power does a lot but it's not a guaranteed OHKO.
You might also want to consider HP Fire on Diancie over Protect too. Protect is predictable as fuck and is generally an opportunity for an opponent to get a free switch to get the match-up against you. Since your team's not exactly dedicated to the utter removal of Sciz or Ferro, Especially Sciz, it would be a good opportunity to lure them in on a predicted Protect and hit them hard, it keeps momentum in your favour by catching your opponent's 'free switch' with a heavy hit so they can be removed with more ease later. This would hinder your opportunity to scout and you have no safety net for Diancie's shit speed turn one. I don't know, if you find Protect more helpful for your opponent than you or you don't use it much then coverage might be for you.

Hey there.
Thats a pretty cool team you got there, i really like CM landorus, i've never used it before and i guess it's putting some work here, but i noticed some weakness that i'll help you to cover.

  • I notice a big Charizard-y weakness here, i don't see how you can handle it, especially when it can come in your team pretty easily (Amoonguss,Landorus,jirachi,keldeo locked, Tornadus-T) and unfortunately Diancie is clearly not enough since it's 2HKO'd by Fire blast and opponent can still predict and use solar beam on the switch (even if it's definitly not necessary here), plus i find that amoonguss is decreasing your momentum because he's very slow and can allow setup that your team doesnt like. I'd suggest Latias LO Roost instead of amoonguss, Latias is a solid glue for your team in addition to be able to check most of pokemons that amoonguss was covering such as Keldeo/Thundurus/Rotom-W, plus Latias used to be a solid charizard Y's check even if these days he's played with tyranitar which is pretty lame for latias because of pursuit, but it's still safer than amoonguss and he doesnt decrease your momentum.
  • Actually you may struggle against thing like SD Zor because it can take advantage of Diancie's weakness and Jirachi unable to hit it and setup, while amoonguss is probably not good enough to make it as a check because of bug bite and also because hp fire does nothing (3HKO). Despite having keldeo it's still risky because it might be weakned and then it cant take a bp from Zor +2, especially if your opponent is playing thing such as bisharp since keldeo will be your main answer for this. Thats why i suggest you to swap Healing Wish with Fire punch on Jirachi, Fire punch is a solid move on jirachi because actually it's increasing your chance to revenge kill scizor even if keldeo is gone and he's also preventing pokemon like ferrothorn from using hazard since Diancie cant come against it. Plus healing wish is not really useful in your team since most of time you will use it only for landorus-i which is pretty situational here.
  • Then i'd swap Hidden Power Bug with Icy wind because your team lack of solid answer against Dragonite or Salamence (especially if they got a dragon dance) and it also help you much against altaria because without amoonguss it will probably sweep you, while with icy wind you can prevent it from outspeeding your team and still can revenge kill it with jirachi/landorus/Diancie.
  • Por fine i suggest you to put 0 IV ATK on Landorus-i since you're not using physical move and also because you're taking less damage on foulplay from mandibuzz or Sableye which is still useful.

Thanks for the suggestions, sorry that this took me so long to reply, school and stuff.

This team used to have rp Lando and I did have a lot better match up against offense, but it was really hard against stall.

I dont feel like i have that bad of match up against offense especially if I change Amoongus for Latias like Toupip suggested.

I will switch Sludge Wave for Psychic as I do have Jirachi and Mega Venu is a threat.

Not having protect makes me have to predict ;-; lol You are right though i will change protect for HP Fire and any chance i can kill off scizor I will.

Btw that Landorus is amazing XD

I have actually never ran into Charizard Y on the ladder before, but i do get 6-0,ed by him, so Lati really helps with that, I will make that change.

Fire Punch on Rachi sounds cool, and especially without Amoonguss (I normally tried to Spore it lol) I think I need it, so I'll make that change.

Tbh I havent seen a Dragonite or Salamence in a while but my weakness to Mega Alt is kind of bad now thanks to no Amoonguss I will make that change.

Man, I swear I know that I am supposed to do that, I just always forget xD
