So, with Regulation M-C out, one of the Megas I was most hyped for was released!! So of course, I had to build around it! People call him bad, and I want to prove them wrong...
...Even though I'm not exactly a skilled battler.
The team:
Tritón (Garchomp) (M) @ Garchompite Z
Ability: Rough Skin
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 2 Atk / 32 SpA / 32 Spe
Naive Nature
- Rock Slide
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Protect
The main guy and sole mega of the team! He's fast, and he can kill a lot of things in one hit with Draco Meteor! Flamethrower is there to ruin Golisopod's day specifically, and Rock slide is just a good move to have solely to fish for flinches. Protect is necessary to stall out trick room or foe Tailwind turns.
Thx4TheGhold (Gholdengo) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Good as Gold
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 2 HP / 32 SpA / 32 Spe
Timid Nature
- Trick
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Make It Rain
Mega Garchomp's main weakness are both fairy and Ice types, so why not bring a Steel Type in the mix? Gholdengho is here to outspeed and kill most fairy and Ice types with a mean Make It Rain on their faces! Trick is to give the middle finger to pokemon trying to set up in his face, Shadow ball is for when you do not want to have your special attack cut in half everytime you attack, and Focus blast is coverage. Coverage I'm thinking about replacing because it missed EVERYTIME I tried to use it.
Opal (Sylveon) (F) @ Fairy Feather
Ability: Pixilate
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 32 HP / 2 Def / 32 SpA
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Protect
- Moonblast
- Calm Mind
And with a steel and dragon type, we need a Fairy type to finish the core! Hyper Voice hits like a truck, protect is protect, Moonblast for when the enemy has Wide Guard or I've been throat chopped, and Calm Mind to set up in the face of special attackers. So far, she's been the MVP of the team. She uses a bulky spread not only to survive a MegaMence Double Edge and scream in its face, but also to have a slow pokemon in case I get Trick Room'd
Lotus (Sinistcha-Masterpiece) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Hospitality
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 32 HP / 32 Def / 2 SpA
Relaxed Nature
- Trick Room
- Matcha Gotcha
- Protect
- Rage Powder
Speaking of Trick Room, here's a pokemon meant to counter it! Trick room is to turn the speed back to normal, Matcha Gotcha is just a good move, same with protect. Rage Powder is very good when I really need something to not die.
Brogambit (Kingambit) (M) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 32 HP / 32 Atk / 2 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Protect
But the team's lacking physical attackers now...Time to bring the Kingambit. Just your standard SD set to help the team. Those Sucker Punches can be nasty, and iron head is another good tool against Fairies.
Gosipper (Pelipper) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Drizzle
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 32 SpA / 2 SpD / 32 Spe
Timid Nature
- Tailwind
- Weather Ball
- Hurricane
- Hydro Pump
Now, the team is pretty weak to fire, and lacks speed control. Fortunately, Pelipper can help patch all of that! Rain to make the whole team be stronger against the sun, Tailwind to make them faster, and then he can hit strong with either guaranteed hit Hurricanes or Hydro Pumps, or if needed just go for a Weather Ball.
Weaknesses:
Despite all the ways I have to fight back against Trick room, I still fold HARD against TR teams. Mega Golisopod specifically can be annoying, this team has a horrible matchup against it.
Another issue is Sun. Sun teams melt this team if they get the upper hand in the Weather Wars.
And finally...Zchomp has trouble hitting everything. Draco Meteor is a must, then it wants Rock Slide, then it needs Flamethrower for Golisopod...But it also wants protect. And Earth Power. And I have to choose what Chomp might not be able to succesfully fight against (Mainly other steel types under rain if I forgo Earth Power, Golisopod specifically if I forgo Flamethrower).
Any help before the champions monthly begins would be appreciated ^^'
