XY OU Mega Gyara

Lol i remember my first post which was like 5 post before now, which was in like april 2014. I was running choice scarf, toxic, roar, protect, quick feet jolteon. No joke. haha. wow i looked like a real dumbass back then. haha. O well...I present to you my slightly less crappy team.

Changes in bold.

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SpA
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake

Dis monster right here is what my team is based around. I run sub to prevent potential burn from pesky rotom-w or get up a possible 2 free DD on a free switch in. Waterfall is a given and earthquake is to hit bulky steel types harder. Although running crunch on M-gyara might be more beneficial against Mega- sableye. mega sableye looks like a sneaky pedophile too..ugh.

655.png

Bisharp @ Assualt vest
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pursuit
- Iron Head
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch

Bisharp serves as a great partner to mega gyara because it handles fairies quite well, like sylveon. It also serves as a pursuit trapper to celebi as well as the lati twins. Choice scarf was needed to outspeed trapped latios/latias before they land a draco or a hp fighting/fire. The rest of bisharp's moves are pretty self explanatory. So bisharp be like b*tch please.

381.png

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Defog

Latios is a reliable and great defogger and acts as a check to keldeo which is a problem to mega gyra and bisharp. Rocks are annoying as usual and is greatly beneficial to get rid of them. Oh yea, and mega venusuar is also a pain in the as*, which also explains the necessity of patios. goshdammit. F*ckin LATIOS. sorry. anyways.
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Venusaur: 283-338 (77.7 - 92.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO.

talonflame-3.gif

Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- Swords Dance
- Will-O-Wisp

Talonflame is always a great check to ferrothorn which as really annoying as f*ck because I'm not running hp fire patios. Fu*k. latios. Umm...also talon catches many t-tars or other mons hoping to switch in on talon with a unexpected willo which will cripple them. i have lefties because it sort of counteracts the recoil. Swords dance helps OKHO some pokes, maybe sweeps when predicting a switch.

260.png

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Rest

Swampert gets up mah rocks which weakens a lot of pokes for the rest of the sweepers and revenge killers.
Mega Manetric was looking like i think a threat because i can't really switch in on any of its moves. hp ice manetric I'm talking about. Thats why swampert looked like the ideal pick. Also it looks like a complete badass to me, if not to you, fine, it's still a badass.

Doge (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Rock Tomb / Knock Off
- Stealth Rock

rotom-wash.gif

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Spe / 216 Def
Bold
Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split

Finally Rotom-w is my go to when the opposing team has a lando t. It volts switches out and puts pressure also against fellow flying types like talon flame. So basically its another bird spam pivot...i think. Thunder wave cripples many pokemons that are threatning to set up like mega pinsir.

This is one hell of a washing machine.

Thanks for rating this, and goodbye.

I see all kinds of things wrong here. Firstly, why in the deepest sickest Hell are you running Scarf on a Bisharp? Is that a thing? You don't need Scarf on Bish to handle the Latis if you manage to get a switch in, you have Sucker Punch to land a priority hit on them, run Black Glasses if you're going all-out attacker, or maybe Assault Vest to get a safer switch into Fairies which might be nice since Fairies do decimate you pretty badly, but not Scarf. If you want a Scarfer to handle Latis then T-Tar is your thing, T-Tar actually makes use of Scarf since it has no priority to spam, but the move-lock is just a hindrance for Bish. Also run Adamant, Adamant lets you get KOs on shit like Lando at +1, Mega Man, Jirachi, and the like.
Secondly, Gyarados, what's with the IVs? Set them back to max, there's no reason not to. Jolly is also ideal on Mega Gyara in order to outspeed shit like Mega Scept and Lop after a +1. Taunt might be helpful as well since it stops Mega Shiny-Eyeballs keeping the dumb fuck from spamming Will-O and CM as well as shuts down stall, forces switches and gives you cleaner set-up opportunity.
You don't need max speed on Talonflame and it's not really worth it when your primary attacks cause you to take recoil damage, investing the remaining unnecessary EVs into HP for more sustainability on that front is helpful. Run Sharp Beak on it too. SD Talonflame is still better with an offensive item, but Life Orb is shit for obvious reasons. Sharp Beak gives you a high chance to OHKO Scarfed Lando at +1 (after SD+Intimidate) after Rocks as well as guarantees a 2HKO on Defensive Landorus at +1 even without Rocks, both of these you'd miss out on without Sharp Beak. Scarfed Lando can do a number on your team too so it's a pretty ideal change. Roost is also pretty important on Talonflame due to said recoil, you kind of need it on any T-Flame set that isn't Band, Will-O is seen on the defensive Bulk Up ones which are more suitable for stall/semi-stall, yours is trying to be a combo of that and SD but not really functioning as well as either.
Rotom. If you're running it has a birdspam check, you're running the wrong set. Physically defensive is what you're after, I had no clue what specially defensive Rotom helps with, but it's certainly not Mega Pinsir.
+2 252 Atk Mega Pinsir Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Rotom-W: 281-331 (92.4 - 108.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
You're after the physically bulky set. Rotoms also run 44 speed EVs to handle max speed Azu. Will-O is also preferred for handling the same mons you're trying to cripple with T-Wave but also helps wear down walls somewhat easier.
Swampert is pretty crappy in OU and it's pretty much proven here. Its only reliable recovery is Rest and no Sleep Talk makes it dead weight just begging to be killed, it offers no other support like Knock Off or effective Pivot switching like Lando, and pretty much anything barring Talonflame can check it well, Latios can take two HP Ices and KO with Draco, Gyara can take any one hit ad set up to KO with EQ next turn, Rotom's Hydro Pumps actually do more damage to it than it can do to you, even physically defensive, Bish can OHKO with Sucker Punch, I don't think the situation is so bad that you have to run Swampert who is a relatively mediocre setter. I'd rather advise Lando since it offers a secondary Birdspam check, STAB EQs and gives you a pivot for scouting and momentum, or Ferr for great defensive synergy with Rotom, forming a good F/W/G core with Rotom and Talon and being a decent anti-Mega Gardevoir mon which is probably more helpful since Gard can tear you apart more so than Mega Man can.
Hope this helped.
