Mega Latios is a great wallbreaker thanks to its strong offensive stats and ability to check common threats like Heatran and Rotom-H. Earthquake hits Magearna and Tyranitar coming in while also letting Mega Latios beat Heatran. Draco Meteor is a powerful STAB that hits everything that doesn't resist it hard. Ice Beam is a option that lets Mega Latios check Gliscor and Kartana better. Thunderbolt is a option that targets Corviknight and Slowbro while also catching Greninja on the switch. Roost lets Mega Latios recover any chip letting it last throughout the match. Hasty is the preferred nature because it lets Mega Latios take less damage from Heatran and Rotom-H.
Mega Latios is a great pick on Balance teams thanks to its great defensive utility and ability to pressure bulkier teams. Magnezone is a great partner as it traps a lot of its checks like Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor. Defensive pokemon like Ferrothorn and Magearna appreciate Mega Latios' ability to switch in and force out Heatran and Rotom-H respectively. Mega Latios is vulnerable to pursuit users like Tyranitar and Weavile so checks to these like Tapu Fini and Toxapex are very important.
