As a switch-in to Fighting-types that compresses utility to support its team, Staraptor is a common part of defensive cores in Normal teams. Brave Bird lets Staraptor apply offensive pressure on Fighting-types such as Breloom and Mega Lopunny. Close Combat complements its coverage to hit Flying-resistant foes including Excadrill, Heatran, and Empoleon, discouraging the latter two from keeping Stealth Rock on it; alternatively, U-turn provides utility to more safely bring in allies such as Ditto, Hisuian Zoroark, and Mega Lopunny. The given EV spread lets it outspeed Adamant Tapu Bulu, with the rest being invested in physical bulk to ease handling foes including Mega Scizor, Dragonite, and Mega Pinsir. Chansey and Blissey's high special bulk lets them comfortably check a wide variety of special attackers that Staraptor can't handle such as Zapdos, Nihilego, and Nidoking, making a good defensive core that includes Ditto benefiting from the safe entry provided by Staraptor to minimize their potential passivity against setup sweepers. Mega Lopunny and Ursaluna can act as offensive pressure for opposing Rock-types, which Staraptor can't properly handle. Hisuian Zoroark benefits from Staraptor's entry hazard control to better bluff as another ally with Illusion, with Staraptor supporting it by checking Fighting-types in return.

As a switch-in to Fighting-types that compresses utility to support its team, Staraptor is a common part of defensive cores in Normal teams. Brave Bird lets Staraptor apply offensive pressure on Fighting-types such as Breloom, Mega Lopunny, and Hisuian Lilligant. Close Combat complements its coverage to hit Flying resists including Excadrill, Heatran, and Empoleon (its also kinda cool, since you tend to lure the latter two in to re-set rocks/force you out), but alternatively, U-turn provides utility to more safely bring in allies such as Ditto, Hisuian Zoroark, and Mega Lopunny. The given EV spread outspeeds Adamant Tapu Bulu, with the rest being invested for physical bulk to ease handling foes including Mega Scizor, Dragonite, and Mega Pinsir. Blissey's high special bulk lets it comfortably check a wide variety of special attackers that Staraptor can't handle such as Zapdos, Nihilego, and Kyurem (subroost still stinky...), making a good defensive core, with Ditto benefitting from the safe pivoting to minimize their potential passivity against setup sweepers. Mega Lopunny and Ursaluna can act as offensive pressure for opposing Rock-types, which Staraptor can't properly handle.(you could add H.Zor, as disguise works better without the hazards that give it away its not that mon)
