Mega Mirrors (Slate 16.5 - Discussion)

Name of Pokemon: Mega Lopunny Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Lopunnite Y
New Mega's Type: Normal/Psychic
New Mega's Ability: Opening Act (Download clone; Raises Special Attack if the opponent has higher Special Defense, raises Special Defense if the opponent has higher Special Attack)
New Mega's Stats: 65 / 66 (-10) / 94 (+10) / 134 (+80) / 106 (+10) / 115 (+10) = 580 BST
New Moves (if any): Psychic, Calm Mind
Flavor (Optional): Ever heard of a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat? What if the rabbit was also a magician?
Competitive Description: Strong cleaner that can take advantage of Opening Act's Special Attack boost or use a Special Defense boost to make setting up with Calm Mind easier.

Your Winners

Name of Pokemon: Mega Heracross Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Heracronite Y
New Mega's Type: Bug/Fighting
New Mega's Ability: Compound Eyes
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 155 (+30) / 95 (+20) / 40 / 105 (+10) / 125 (+40) = 600 BST
New Moves (if any): Meteor Mash, Cross Chop
Flavor (Optional): This Mega Heracross is a lot sleeker and more aerodynamic than Mega Heracross X, even a with a smaller horn to compensate. Its wings are always out, though they only get used to speed past the opponent for an Attack or to snipe an opponent out of midair.
Competitive Description: While Mega Heracross X is a powerful wallbreaker, Mega Heracross Y here is more of a sweeper. Using its great speed tier and alright bulk, Mega Heracross Y can easily set up with Swords Dance and run through the opposing team with perfect accuracy Megahorn, Close Combat, and either Stone Edge or Meteor Mash. Cross Chop is also a nice option if you want to protect yourself from being revenge killed.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Latias Y
Name of New Mega Stone: Latiasite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Overcoat
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 95 (+15) / 90 / 125 (+15) / 195 (+65) / 115 (+5) (BST: 700)
New Moves (if any): Draining Kiss

Flavor (Optional): While Mega Latias Y is not much bigger than its normal form, and does not look much more threatening, it possess an aura of energy that protects it. It is incredibly smart, communicating through telepathy and being capable of shutting down psychic attacks from multiple Alakazam.

Competitive Description: Access to an amazing base 195 Special Defense, a good defensive typing, reliable recovery, access to Defog, and a decent ability work together to turn Mega Latias Y into an amazing defensive Pokémon. Unlike many other defensive Pokémon, Mega Latias Y can hit hard with its Dragon STAB and fantastic coverage, though it sorely misses Fairy STAB and the ability to hit Steel-types. Additionally, it has a fairly lackluster Defense stat, leaving it vulnerable to priority and physical attackers, and its generally outclassed by its other Mega from as a stat booster.

(
)
Name of Pokemon: Mega Latios X
Name of New Mega Stone: Latiosite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Reckless
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 163 (+73) / 75 (-5) / 155 (+25) / 100 (-10) / 127 (+17) (BST: 700)
New Moves (if any): Flare Blitz

Flavor (Optional): Turn on your afterburners! Mega Latios Y often has trouble adapting to its Mega form, as it does not have the control or strength to master its new power. However, once it can harness the power of its new fire, Mega Latios Y can fly at ten times the speed of sound.

Competitive Description: Almost the direct opposite of Latias's new Mega, Mega Latios X is built for offensive teams, using its fantastic STAB combination with its base 163 Attack and 127 Speed. Reckless, aside from fitting thematically with this evolution, also boosts its new STAB move in Flare Blitz, only adding to its strength and unpredictability. Unfortuneately, while very few walls in the tier can stand up to Mega Latios X, it also wears itself down extraordinarily quickly, a fact not helped by a Stealth Rock weakness and mediocre defensive stats.

Name of Pokemon: Lopunny-Mega Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Lopunnite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Serene Grace
New Mega's Stats: 65 / 48 / 96 / 140 / 96 / 135 (-28 Atk, +12 Def, +76 SpA, +30 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Moonblast, Calm Mind
Flavor (Optional): While Lopunnite X causes energy to flow into Lopunny's body, powering it up and at the same time, giving it the bravery to utilise it to its full potential, Lopunnite Y causes energy to flow into its mind and its voice, giving it immense power behind its voice and mental prowess. It is calm and collected in battle, often able to analyse, plan and act on its own even if its trainer is unable to help, though it stays fiercely loyal to its trainer. In the past, this form of Lopunny is often considered a true visage of clever, yet elegant beauty itself, and many have trusted it in its ability to lead and inspire those under it during mass battles and during peace time to allow society to prosper.
Competitive Description: Meloetta clone, this time a fairy type just as wide of a special movepool, with Focus Blast, BoltBeam, and STAB in Hyper Beam. It's support movepool is also impressive, if not absurd, with Healing Wish, Thunder Wave, Magic Coat and more.

U listed Mawile as Lopunny, and shouldn’t the ability limit be 5 to match with the currently OU Pure Power Mega Mawile? It has a garbage BST and needs the help
Thank you for catching the mistake and, after looking it over, I'll raise it to 4.5, as the other 5s have more potential to be extremely busted but the 4.5s seems fine with Mawile's BST

Name of Pokemon: Lucario-Mega Y [UBERS]
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Lucarioite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Dazzling
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 70 / 80 / 175 / 80 / 150 (-40 Atk, +10 Def, +60 SpA, +10 SpD, +60 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Earth Power
Flavor (Optional): Mega Evolution always had an interesting effect on the Pokemon undergoing it, varing from unleashing the hidden dragon within Charizard and Ampharos (while causing the former's skin to turn black and the latter's hair to grow back), to corrupting the mind of a Gyarados beyond recognition, and hence turning it into a Dark-type. Here, it is no exception, causing Lucario's mind to sync to the psychic energy around it and allowing it to use psychic attacks with its now enhanced mind. However, this new psychic energy, somehow managed to fuse with its fighting aura, giving it arcane powers that mystify scientists till today. It is said that its speed and ability to predict the immediate future rivals Alakazam, allowing it to parry and redirect even the fastest of Extreme Speeds and Sucker Punches using an invisible but powerful psychic aura around it, while still moving much faster than its slim frame may imply. Depressingly enough, unlike Alakazam and other psychic types, its mind is not built to, and as such, is unable to reconcile with its forshadowing abilities, often going crazy as its mind is filled with the horrors that haunt its future, should it dare to look further into the future. Mercifully (or not, depending on your view), it oddly forgets what it forsees in its future when devolving.
Competitive Description: Mega Mewtwo X, but specially based and with set-up and less speed! Its special movepool is passable by its own, with Nasty Plot, Flash Cannon, Vacuum Wave, Aura Sphere, and a few coverage options here and there. Good enough to sweep and make it into Ubers, if you ask me.

Name of Pokemon: Manectric-Mega X
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Manectite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Strong Jaw
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 150 / 70 / 90 / 70 / 135 (+75 Atk, +10 Def, -25 SpA, +10 SpD, +30 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Superpower
Flavor (Optional): Manectric, as a pokemon, has quite unnatural and dangerous abilities with electricity, from causing unnatural storms, to mimicking lightning as it runs. As such, it is a fearsome pokemon at first glance, and as such, many have gone out of their way to avoid these pokemon, resulting in Manectrics being untrusting, and even hostile when meeting humans. This mega stone is said to be originally created when a Manectric struck its lightning, full of hatred, into a stone when missing what it assumed to be a hostile intruder. This stone, when activated, causes Manectric to lose its control, unleashing the wild beast it once has been. Running as fast as lightning, it fears nothing and is defiant even in the face of death.
Competitive Description: Its physical movepool is passable, with Crunch, Thunder Fang, Fire Fang, Ice Fang. Howl gives it a way to boost it power further if you're that desperate, though the power alone from base 150 Atk should be enough. Its coverage allows it to duel against resists in OU like Landorus-Thedian and Ferrothorn with Ice and Fire Fang respectively.

Name of Pokemon: Mawile-Mega Y [UBERS]
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Mawilite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Monstrous Gaze*
Monstrous Gaze: Inflict Paralysis status on foe on switch-in (Intimidate clone)
New Mega's Stats: 50 / 75 / 65 / 125 / 65 / 100 (-10 Atk, -20 Def, +70 SpA, +10 SpD, +50 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Draining Kiss, Nasty Plot
Flavor (Optional): As mentioned from the earlier submission, Mega Evolution can change a Pokemon drastically, from granting Pinsir the power of flight, to overheating Houndoom so much its poor paws are constantly hurting from the pain. Here, its bizarre power and effects show again, as undergoing Mega Evolution causes its back jaw to turn completely dark and split into dozens of strands, all with a small dragon head on its end. The original body also changes, now resembling a tiny medieval princess. Ancient rumors tell of a beautiful woman that roams at night under the full moon, and warns that should you get close, it'll trap you in place with its terrifying gaze, before draining the life out of you with just one kiss and letting its hair eat you till there's no evidence left of you behind. Truly a terror of the past that we should be glad no longer exist....right? (In case you all realise, this is designed after the Medusa myth with a slight change, inspired by the Mawile Pokedex entry)
Competitive Description: I'm not sure whether this is gonna be Ubers, OU or even worse, given that broken ability is severely hampered by its shit defenses and lack of recovery outside of Draining Kiss, as well as its reliance on set-up to deal real damage as well as its mediocre speed tier. However, its ok special movepool and it's unique typing should allow for it to thrive and sweep once it gets a boost, so I guess its fine? Arena Trap or a Intimidate clone can be a replacing ability, so if you all have any idea to make this sub better, just ask me.
Will finish and do more later.

Personally I’d make the option of 5 available and just tell people if their sub is actually busted, for consistency with the original Mawile

Personally I’d make the option of 5 available and just tell people if their sub is actually busted, for consistency with the original Mawile
I guess that can work. I just feel like all of the other 5s except for Huge/Pure Power are way too busted, so 4.5 + Huge/Pure Power would be fine, but maybe something like Water Bubble can be made not busted, so I'll make it 5, but i have my eyes on everyone

Name of Pokemon: Mega Lucario Y [OU]
Name of New Mega Stone: Lucarioite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Sand Force
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 120 (+10) / 80 (+10) / 150 (+35) / 97 (+27) / 108 (+18) (BST: 625)
New Moves (if any):
Earth Power

Flavor (Optional): The spirit of the desert god awakes in Lucario, reverting it to the form it had thousands of years ago. It uses the sand not only to augment its powerful attacks, but to hide from its enemies, waiting to strike.

Competitive Description: Mega Lucario Y fills a unique role as a more specially based Pokémon that both fits on sand teams and can act as a stand-alone Pokémon. Base 150 Special Attack, alongside access to Earth Power, Sand Force, and powerful coverage options on both the physical and special side make Mega Lucario Y a very scary wallbreaker under sand. Mega Lucario Y can also be a decent cleaner due to its base 108 Speed alongside multiple priority options.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Manectric X
Name of New Mega Stone: Manectite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Sheer Force
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 115 (+40) / 105 (+45) / 80 (-25) / 100 (+40) / 105 (BST: 575)
New Moves (if any):
Iron Head, Metal Sound

Flavor (Optional): Mega Manetric X's mane turns to a coppery metal, encasing his entire body and dramatically increasing his durability. In times of war, Mega Manectric X helped out its owners by focusing its electricity through its body, attacking foes in an electric rage.

Competitive Description: While Manectric's other mega focuses on using its speed as an offensive pivot and revenge killer, Mega Manectric X is a more balanced Pokémon. Not only does it have a fantastic defensive typing, but has far better bulk to complement it, allowing it to be a check to many strong attackers. Sheer Force significantly improves Mega Manectric X's mediocre 115 base Attack stat, and Metal Sound can scare out certain Pokémon expecting it to be fully physical.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Mawile Y
Name of New Mega Stone: Mawilite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Misty Terrain
New Mega's Stats: 50 / 60 (-25) / 120 (+35) / 80 (+25) / 140 (+95) / 20 (-30) (BST: 480)
New Moves (if any):
Calm Mind, Recover

Will finish this up later

Name of Pokemon: Lucario-Mega Y (OU)
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Lucarionite Y
New Mega's Type: Fighting/Steel
New Mega's Ability: Technician
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 140 / 110 / 145 / 110 / 70 (+20 Atk, +40 Def, +20 SpA, +20 SpD, -20 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Lucario's movepool is already perfect.
Flavor (Optional): Lucario gains more muscle, making it more of a powerhouse submission fighter.
Competitive Description: Lucario gains a lot of bulk, giving it easier set-up opportunities, which is further helped by a fantastic defensive typing. Technician boosts Lucario's priority moves such as Vacuum Wave, compensating for its lowered Speed stat.

Name of Pokemon: Mawile-Mega Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Mawilite Y
New Mega's Type: Steel/Fairy
New Mega's Ability: Fur Coat
New Mega's Stats: 50 / 105 / 105 / 65 / 105 / 50 (+20 Atk, +20 Def, +10 SpA, +50 SpD)
New Moves (if any): No need
Flavor (Optional): Mega Mawile Y's fragile body is now protected with wool. But it's not just any wool, it's STEEL WOOL!
Competitive Description: It has the same ability as the original Mega Mawile, except this time it is the Defense stat that is doubled. That, on top of a impressive defensive typing, makes Mega Mawile incredibly hard to take down. That allows Mega Mawile Y to either: set up multiple Swords Dances or support its team with status moves such as Stealth Rock. Still, I don't think it will be too OP as it's quite vulnerable on the Special side thanks to it's low HP and speed. It's also countered by multiple Pokemon such as Heatran and the Mega Charizards.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Lucario Y [OU]
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Lucarionite Y
New Mega's Type: Fighting/Steel
New Mega's Ability: Mega Launcher
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 100 (-10) / 90 (+20) / 155 (+40) / 95 (+25) / 115 (+25) = 625 BST
New Moves (if any): Aura Alignment (Fighting-type Recover)
Flavor (Optional): Mega Lucario Y is much less aggressive than Mega Lucario X, though still more than ready to battle. The Lucarionite Y makes Lucario prefer to stay back and battle from afar. When Mega Lucario Y fully calms down and focuses its aura on one target, the force of its next attack is much greater than it normally would be. While Mega Lucario X is said to be the first ever Mega Evolution, the Lucarionite Y wasn't first discovered until fairly recently, so it is unclear where it falls in history.
Competitive Description: Looking at Lucario's movepool, Mega Launcher just makes sense. I mean, it learns every move boosted by Mega Launcher (except Origin Pulse). This means that Lucario's STAB Aura Spheres and coverage in Dark Pulse and Water Pulse will all hit like a truck, with Nasty Plot as an option to further boost its Special Attack and Vacuum Wave as a STAB priority option. A SubCM set with the option of reliable recovery in Aura Alignment is a possibility, though this gives Lucario serious 4MSS.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Manectric X
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Manectite X
New Mega's Type: Electric/Fire
New Mega's Ability: Overcharge (Electric-type Steelworker clone)
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 140 (+65) / 70 (+10) / 120 (+15) / 70 (+10) / 105 = 575 BST
New Moves (if any): Flare Blitz, Flame Charge
Flavor (Optional): Manectric's fur becomes super charged with electricity to the point where if someone were to touch it, they'd likely instantly receive at least a second degree burn and get shocked with the force of a taser.
Competitive Description: Mega Manectric X comes in, hits like a truck until it runs out of HP. Overcharge-boosted Wild Charge and STAB Flare Blitz deal a ton of damage while Ice Fang can patch up a few holes, like KOing a weakened Landorus. Flame Charge can also patch up Mega Manectric X's only okay speed tier. With this thing, just throw caution to the wind and if you go down, take a couple opponents with you.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Mawile Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Mawilite Y
New Mega's Type: Steel/Fairy
New Mega's Ability: Intimidate
New Mega's Stats: 50 / 85 / 115 (+30) / 55 / 125 (+70) / 50 = 480 BST
New Moves (if any): Moonlight, Metal Burst
Flavor (Optional): WIP
Competitive Description: WIP

Hall of Fame Update!

Failure999 and MegaFlareon have moved to the rank of Mega Glasses!

---

Okay, so the next slate actually won't start immediately. This time around, there will be a short (about 20-hours) discussion phase, as I feel it's a good time to really start acknowledging the competitive aspect of Mega Mirrors. One of Mega Mirrors' biggest selling points competitively compared to other Pet Mods is that it's theoretically very easy to get into, with the only changes being to pre-existing Mega Evolutions plus their extra Mega and a few new moves or abilities here and there. During this discussion phase, you can talk about a Mega, give sample sets, and explain how it might fit in the meta.

As for what else might be in store, I am planning on making a Spreadsheet version of the archive as a more condensed look at everything in the mod, though the post version will still be consistently updated. This will also include information for the absolute chaos that is Mix and Mega Mirrors. Other things that may be in the works are a Discord server and a possible forum tournament, so be sure to stay tuned!

Oh, and one more thing. I am looking for people to help out Mega Mirrors by becoming part of the council, so if you're interested, please DM me on here or on Discord

Just one slate ago, I made it into Mega Anchor, right now I made it into Mega Glasses with 7 Megas. Thank You so much to everyone that supported me when I first joined. For this special discussion phase I gonna start by asking...
1. For Pokemon whose original Megas are RUBL or under, a buffing slate will be held to bring them up to OU standards
Yoshiblaze, would you be okay with making the upcoming slates alternate between the usual and doing this? As far as I'm aware, this has only been done for those featured in the first slate, Abomasnow and Absol, and I'm curious on how the submitters would try to buff the already existing pokemon without changing the taste behind it.

As for the discussion phase, please forgive me, I haven't got to play this on DragonHeaven due to a busy schedule and cluelessness about how to use the New Mega Stone. Hence, most of what's said below will be theorymonning. Take it with a pinch of salt, my knowledge is only miniscule at best.

Warning: Incomplete (Feel free to steal format)

Name of Pokemon: Abomasnow-Mega-X
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Abomasite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Regenerator
New Mega's Stats: 90 / 112 (+20) / 95 (+20)/ 102 (+10) / 135 (+50) / 60
New Moves (if any): Liquidation, Horn Leech

X would be more seen on bulky teams, serving as part of a defensive backbone with it's useful resists to Ground and Water, while having a useful neutality to Fire and Ice. However, stiff competition with Tangrowth and Amoonguss, with both packing Regenerator and a resistance to Electric and Grass. Not only that, but its pre-mega ability hurts its ability to stay on the field by a little bit the first time it evolves, and can be hurtful to the team due to the chip damage from hail. At the same time, if you're building a hail team just because of that, you're better off using Mega Abomasnow Y, which is already niche enough.

Sample Set:
Bulky Pivot (Abomasnow-Mega-X) @ Abomasite X
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Horn Leech / Liquidation / Ice Punch
- Synthesis
- Earthquake / Ice Shard
- Leech Seed / Ice Shard

Name of Pokemon: Abomasnow-Mega-Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Abomasite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Slush Rush
New Mega's Stats: 90 / 92 / 105 (+30) / 132 (+40) / 105 (+20) / 70 (+10)= 594 BST
New Moves (if any): [Liquidation, Horn Leech]

AAA Swampert-Mega, but with a shittier defensive typing in exchange for hitting different targets. This has a niche in throwing out powerful 100% accurate blizzards under hail with blistering speed with a good 132 base SpA. However, its old shortfalls still haunt the glass cannon that this pokemon has become. Poor defensive typing, inability to severely dent steel types with its special coverage with HP (not forgetting that mixed sets with Earthquake could work, but you're still giving up either power or speed.), its per-mega hail only lasting so long, meaning that timing this mega is crucial if you have no back-up setter, and facing stiff competition from the new Glalie-Mega-X, which can repeatedly automatically set its own weather and has a better speed unreliant on its weather.

Sample Set:
Special Wallbeaker / Cleaner (Abomasnow-Mega-Y) @ Abomasite Y
Ability: Slush Rush
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Earthquake / Liquidation
- Ice Shard

Abomasnow-Mega-Y @ Abomasite Y
Ability: Slush Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Swords Dance
- Horn Leech
- Earthquake / Liquidation
- Ice Punch / Ice Shard
Honestly, both may never see the light in OU, in my honest opinion. Not only do they face heavy competition from the other Megas, but are easily distinguishable from each other by the team structure around it.

Name of Pokemon: Absol-Mega-X
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Absolite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Magic Bounce
New Mega's Stats: 65 / 160 (+30) / 90 (+30) / 75 / 60 / 115 (+40)= 565 BST
New Moves (if any): [Hyper Voice, Calm Mind], Earthquake, U-turn

A unique typing and wide movepool allows it to be an unorthodox stallbreaker and utility attacker. Its typing is just a huge slap to the face to the Lati twins, as well as being on of the few Dark types with a neutality against Fighting types, and a way to punish and kill them with it's other STAB and status options. As a stallbreaker, it has Magic Bounce to just say 'nah' to status and hazards being set up on its lane, Taunt, Swords Dance and Hone Claws for breaking, and good STAB moves in Knock Off, Play Rough, and even Iron Tail to help in its poor matchup against Fairy types. On the other hand, as a utility attacker, it has the aforementioned good moves, which also include Pursuit and Sucker Punch, U-turn for momentum, and useful status moves such as Taunt, Will-o-Wisp and Thunder Wave to cripple incoming pokemon, as well as Wish if you're crazy enough to waste on moveslot on it. However, Fairy types, who are all too rampant in OU, give this pokemon a hard time, resisting its Dark STAB and hitting it super effectively, with it's only way to hurt them meaningfully being the inaccurate Iron Tail and neutral Play Rough. It also faces competition as a breaker with Swords Dance Mawile-Mega-X and Kartana, both having much higher power to break than Absol. Still, neither has the utility options that Absol has, and that is enough for it to perhaps carve out a niche for itself in OU.

Sample Sets:
Wallbreaker (Absol-Mega-X) @ Absolite X
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance / Hone Claws
- Knock Off
- Play Rough / Sucker Punch
- Superpower / Iron Tail

Utility Attacker (Absol-Mega-X) @ Absolite X
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Play Rough / U-turn
- Pursuit / Will-o-Wisp / Wish

Name of Pokemon: Absol-Mega-Y
Name of New Mega Stone: Absolite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Galvanize
New Mega's Stats: 65 / 110 (-20) / 60 / 115 (+40) / 100 (+40) / 115 (+40)
New Moves (if any): Hyper Voice, Calm Mind, [Earthquake, U-Turn]

This Absol takes on the form of a mixed wallbreaker. Using its unique ability in Galvanize, a large amount of normal attacking moves (as expected of a typical pokemon), and its great special movepool makes it something people have to take in mind when dealing with it. Being one of the only electrics to gain Ice Beam and Flamethrower, not many can switch in easily into this monster, much lest resist its coverage. Set-up makes this thing even more threatening, as giving it a free turn by swotching allows it to ram your switch-in harder. However, modest bulk with weaknesses to Bug, Fighting, Fairy and Ground makes it hard to switch it in safely. It also suffers slightly from 4MSS, wanting to squeeze Hyper Voice, Return, Knock Off, coverage and set-up options all into 4 moves, lest it let's something wall it easier. Still, its sheer versitility and potential makes this a great Mega.

Sample Sets:
All-Out-Attacker (Absol-Mega-Y) @ Absolite Y
Ability: Galvanize
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower / Earthquake
- Knock Off / Dark Pulse / Pursuit

Set-Up Breaker (Absol-Mega-Y) @ Absolite Y
Ability: Galvanize
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance / Hone Claws
- Return
- Knock Off / Sucker Punch
- Earthquake / Iron Tail
Both Megas hold value as stallbreakers or wallbreakers. X focuses more on the Physical end, hitting hard with 160 base attack and its STAB Dark moves, while Y focuses on wall breaking with its hard to handle coverage and potential for set-up meaning giving it a free turn could be deadly. I'm interested to see how these Megas show down in OU.

Name of Pokemon: Aerodactyl-Mega-X
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Aerodactylite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Tough Claws
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 135 / 85 / 70 / 95 / 150 = 615 BST
New Moves (if any): [Hurricane, Power Gem]

Still crying as it languishes in UU, with a lack of contact Rock moves, weaknesses to common typings of Water, Ice, Electric, and Steel, and inability to break Celesteela and Rotom reliably. It still has potential, just not as much as others especially when it competes with so many other Megas, including its Mirror.

Sample Sets:
Physical Attacker (Aerodactyl-Mega-X) @ Aerodactylite X
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge / Aerial Ace
- Earthquake / Aerial Ace
- Pursuit / Ice Fang
- Roost / Hone Claws

Name of Pokemon: Aerodactyl-Mega-Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Aerodactylite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Savagery* (Moxie clone that raises SpA)
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 105 / 75 (+10) / 130 (+70) / 85 (+10) / 140 (+10) = 615 BST
New Moves (if any): Hurricane, Power Gem

This Mega, on the other hand, has potential to live up to its partner's potential, or go slightly further. Its special movepool is oddly amazing, with Earth Power, Flamethrower, and Dragon Pulse. Its speed is still amazing, only outsped by Zeroara, Alakazam-Mega-Y and other high speed choice scarfers. While it lacks a set-up moves, and still suffers from poor defensive typing, it still will be a threat to behold.

Sample Sets:
Special Attacker (Aerodactyl-Mega-Y) @ Aerodactylite Y
Ability: Savagery
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Power Gem
- Earth Power / Flamethrower
Both Megas kinda fall short in comparison to the other wacky Megas that roam Mega Mirrors OU, but still have niches that are difficult to challenge (Fast Attackers with great movepools to hit thieir counters). I'll wait till Aerodactyl-Mega-X gets it's due buff to really end this up. (This applies to all Megas, but especially here due to its high potential as a Mega already.)

Gonna share my thoughts on some of my favourite new megas.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Alakazam X
Name of New Mega Stone: Alakazite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability:
Sheer Force
New Mega's Stats: 55 / 135 (+85) / 50 / 135 / 95 / 135 (+15)
New Moves (if any): Play Rough, Close Combat

I think this is going to be a great mixed attacker due to it's good speed tier and excellent offensive stats, along with the very powerful Sheer Force as an ability. It would probably run an all-out attacker set because it has the coverage to hit basically anything in the tier for good damage, with the exception of some things like Celesteela.

Alakazam @ Alakazite X
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 48 Atk / 204 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Psychic
- Close Combat
- Play Rough
- Shadow Ball

48 Atk EVs allows Close Combat to always 2HKO max defense Chansey after rocks. A Hasty nature means it can outspeed some notable pokemon like +1 Mega Tyranitar, max speed Greninja-Ash, Weavile, and Koko, and neutral Mega Alakazam Y. Psychic is very powerful with Sheer Force and acts as the most spammable STAB move. Close Combat hits pokemon like Chansey, Heatran, and 4x fighting weak pokemon like Weavile and Tyranitar which this can outspeed. Play Rough is more Sheer Force boosted coverage, and Shadow Ball lets Alakazam hit bulky Psychic types. Overall, I think this will be a very viable mega and compete with the already great Mega Alakazam Y. It's low defense becomes even lower because it is forced to run a nature that drops it, making it very vulnerable to priority, so I think it may see some use on Psyspam with Tapu Lele as an alternative to Alakazam Y.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Aggron Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Aggronite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Unaware
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 90 (-20) / 125 (-55) / 145 (+85) / 150 (+90) / 50 (BST: 630)
New Moves (if any):
Defog, Shadow Ball

Steel/Ghost is a stupidly good typing and Unaware is a stupidly good ability, so even without reliable recovery I think this will be a good wall. It has really good offensive presence for something with such high defenses, and I think we can expect it to run some coverage like Ice Beam or Fire Blast to prevent some possible checks from coming in on it. Rest might even be a viable option due to it's high bulk and Unaware, because it means the opponent can't just set up to take advantage of the sleep turns.

Aggron @ Aggronite Y
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Ice Beam
- Defog
- Thunderbolt

I'm really not sure what the best set for this would be so I went with a bulky defogger that basically only Chansey can switch in to. BoltBeam coverage along with a STAB Shadow Ball puts big pressure on almost everything in the tier, possibly forcing switches and allowing Aggron to remove hazards. However, this set is vulnerable to being worn down by chip on switch ins from resisted attacks and hazards, especially Spikes.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Camerupt X
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Cameruptite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Regenerator
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 150 / 90 / 105 / 75 / 70 = 560 BST (+50 Atk, +20 Def, +30 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Flare Blitz, Gunk Shot

I can see this having a niche due to an interesting defensive typing and Regenerator, which could make anything seem viable. Having some notable resistances to fairy, fighting, ice, and fire, this could put pressure on common pokemon of those type with it's powerful STAB moves. Unfortunately, it's bulk isn't as good as it wants it to be and it sports some unfortunate weaknesses to Rock, Ground, and Psychic, all bad types for a defensive pokemon to be weak to.

Camerupt @ Cameruptite X
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Stealth Rock
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake

This set maximises damage output while also making sure Camerupt can take as many hits as possible. Earthquake is to threaten the rock types that resist it's STABs and possibly prevent them from switching in. Stealth Rock is to be used when forcing switches on pokemon like Chansey and Forretress who can't do anything to Camerupt. Definitely a flawed pokemon but an interesting one nevertheless.

This is all theorymon which is never great, but these are just the impressions I get from taking a look at these new megas. There are other viable new megas ofc, but I just wanted to talk about these ones as some of my favourites. Other interesting ones are Diancie Y, Banette Y, and Tyranitar Y.

Just a few ideas and thoughts on some of the Megas. I should preface this by saying that I am not at all an experienced battler, and that some of these sets may not be the best.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Banette Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Banettite Y
New Mega's Type: Ghost/Normal
New Mega's Ability: Fluffy
New Mega's Stats: 64 / 135 (+20) / 85 (+20) / 83 / 93 (+30) / 95 (+30) (BST 555)
New Moves (if any): U-Turn

Banette got two majors buffs in its Mega Evolution: An amazing typing in Ghost/Normal, and one of the best abilities in the game in Fluffy. Unfortunately, it has nothing to boost its mediocre Attack stat, and while it could be a decent pivot, it can also be a bulky win condition. Thanks to access to Cotton Guard and Calm Mind, it can boost up rather quickly. Although it lacks reliable recover, it has Pain Split, preventing it from being worn down too quickly. Still somewhat gimmicky.

Banette @ Banettite Y
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Cotton Guard
- Calm Mind
- Pain Split
- Shadow Ball / Dark Pulse

Name of Pokemon: Mega Gengar X
Name of New Mega Stone: Gengarite X
New Mega's Type: Ghost / Fairy
New Mega's Ability: Competitive
New Mega's Stats: 60 / 65 / 105 (+45) / 150 (+20) / 105 (+30) / 115 (+5) (BST: 600)
New Moves (if any): Flamethrower, Moonlight

While Mega Gengar X misses out on the trapping ability that pushed its other form to Ubers, it poses a real threat here. genera already had an expansive movepool, making it one of the most versatile Pokémon in almost every generation. Now, it has a better typing, much better defenses, reliable recovery, and a more reliable way to break Steel-types, as well as punishing Defog. Very scary, and has advantages over most other special attackers.

Gengar @ Gengarite
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Flamethrower
- Focus Blast / Taunt / Destiny Bond

Gengar @ Gengarite
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonlight
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam / Flamethrower

As a side note, I'm also wondering whether or not we should keep the Mega Evolution limit. By the end of this process we are going to have around 60 Mega Evolutions, each potentially being viable. Only allowing one Mega per team could limit a lot of the new Megas via opportunity cost.
