Nasty Plot boosts Mega Raichu Y's damage output to obscene levels, with Zap Cannon OHKOing physically defensive Mega Floette after just one layer of Spikes and doing just under 80% at worst to even the bulkiest Galarian Slowking. Focus Blast offers the greatest raw power outside of Zap Cannon for getting around Electric resistances such as Rillaboom, but Alluring Voice guarantees KOs on TankChomp and Hydrapple, which could otherwise survive. Surf offers a way to damage Ground-types such as Hippowdon and Gliscor, while Grass Knot is your only way of OHKOing Swampert. If you aren't as concerned with coverage, you can run Substitute in the last slot to make setting up easier.
Hisuian Samurott is one of the best partners for this set, as it can set Spikes to bring opposing Pokémon into KO range, threaten faster opponents such as Mega Delphox and Mega Absol Z with Sucker Punch, and bring Raichu in safely with Flip Turn. Defensive pivots such as Corviknight and Galarian Slowking can safely switch into faster offensive threats like Mega Lopunny or Mega Delphox respectively, force them out, and bring Raichu in later in the match. Galarian Slowking also absorbs Toxic Spikes for Raichu, which otherwise put it on a strict timer. Pokémon like Kingambit and Rillaboom appreciate having Corviknight removed, and can in turn pick off foes attempting to revenge kill Raichu with their strong priority moves. Ceruledge and Blaziken similarly appreciate not having to deal with Toxapex or Primarina, and can in turn eliminate Mega Meganium, who Raichu otherwise struggles to break. Lastly, Indeedee's Psychic Terrain can protect Raichu from priority attacks and enable it to sweep teams without faster attackers.
