[SET]
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
- Swords Dance is one of the best boosting moves in the game and turns Scizor from a relatively weak Pokemon into a great late game sweeper
- Roost is necessary to keep Scizor healthy as it gets worn down by Stealth Rock and repeated hits
- Bullet Punch remedies Scizor's low speed and hit decently hard with Technician
- U-Turn allows Scizor to escape some of it's checks such as Heatran and Magnezone. It also hits Pokemon such as Slowbro and Ferrothorn harder than Bullet Punch
Set Details
========
- 248 HP EVs maximizes Scizor's overall bulk
- 16 Defense EVs and an Impish nature guarentees that Adamant Landorus-Therian's Earthquake never 2HKOs Scizor
- 200 Special Defense EVs guarentees that Life Orb Latios cannot knock it out with a Draco Meteor into a Hidden Power Fire
- The rest is dumped into Attack, giving Scizor slightly more power
- Light Metal should be used before Mega Evolution to decrease the damage from the occasional Low Kick
-Scizorite is mandatory on this set as regular Scizor doesn't have the bulk Mega Scizor has.
Usage Tips
========
- At the beginning of the game, pivot Scizor into Pokemon it can check such as Tapu Bulu and Metagross to Mega Evolve as early as possible.
- Make sure to scout for fire moves on Pokemon such as Clefable and Latios before switching Scizor into them.
- Do not try to sweep until all of Scizor's counters such as Magnezone and Heatran are gone. Instead, U-turn out on these Pokemon into a check. Once they are gone, set up Swords Dances on Pokemon that cannot 2HKO it such as Landorus-Therian and
Team Options
========
- Dugtrio is a good partner, being able to trap Heatran and Magnezone. Mega Scizor can then set up on Dugtrio's counters such as Landorus-T and Tapu Bulu.
- other partners
