It also punishes defensive switch-ins like Toxapex, Alomomola, Zapdos, and Ferrothorn by removing their Heavy-Duty Boots or Leftovers, which, in tandem with entry hazards set by Gliscor, Ferrothorn, or Ting-Lu, allows Mega Scizor to wear them down more easily. 248 HP and 112 Defense EVs with an Impish nature allow Mega Scizor to survive two Close Combats from Mega Lopunny after Stealth Rock damage, and 20 Speed EVs let it outspeed uninvested Heatran. Mega Scizor struggles against Fire-types like Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, Heatran, and Moltres, making Toxapex, Gliscor, Heatran, and Moltres desirable partners that can handle them. To make full use of its defenses, Mega Scizor benefits from the hazard removal provided by Terapagos and Zapdos. Special attackers like Terapagos, Tapu Lele, Tapu Koko, and Iron Valiant also assist in breaking down walls like Toxapex, Ferrothorn, Zapdos, and Moltres.
