[OVERVIEW]

Water
========

Mega Slowbro is a great sweeper for Water-type teams with Calm Mind, as its good natural bulk, access to Regenerator as a pre-Mega ability, and reliable recovery in Slack Off allow it to set up relatively easily. Mega Slowbro's Psychic typing allows it to threaten key Pokemon on Poison teams like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex, both of which can be difficult to for Water teams to overcome. Mega Slowbro's abilities complement its sets and the roles it plays, with its great pre-Mega ability in Regenerator combined with Slack Off allowing it to effectively act as a defensive pivot and its Shell Armor enabling it to set up with Calm Mind and Iron Defense without fear of critical hits. Mega Slowbro has an impressive Defense stat of base 180, which allows it to take on strong wallbreakers that would otherwise muscle through defensive cores on Water teams like Mega Gallade and Choice Band Diggersby. Its defensive capabilities are further improved due to Scald, as it can burn physical threats with the move, making it incredibly hard to break past. However, Mega Slowbro has a mediocre Special Defense stat, which makes it vulnerable to strong special attackers such as Latios and Tapu Koko, although it can beat most of them after a few Calm Mind boosts. Mega Slowbro also possesses weaknesses to types such as Dark and Bug along with Grass and Electric, compounding Water's weaknesses. Mega Slowbro is very slow, which means it will always take a hit before moving and is pressured by strong wallbreakers like Choice Specs Hydreigon. It is reliant on setup moves like Calm Mind and Iron Defense to pose as a threat, so Taunt users such as Mew and Jellicent can shut it down. Mega Slowbro is also susceptible to status moves such as Toxic, which greatly hinder its ability to set up and act as a defensive pivot, but this is not an issue if it is running Rest.

Moves
========

Calm Mind makes Mega Slowbro more powerful while patching up its middling Special Defense. Slack Off gives it reliable recovery, which lets it effectively act as a defensive pivot or bulky sweeper without getting worn down. Scald is a STAB move that has a good chance to spread burns and further improves Mega Slowbro's bulk by burning physical attackers, making it very hard to break past. Psychic as Mega Slowbro's secondary STAB move allows it to hit Pokemon that resist Scald like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex. Psyshock may be used over Psychic to win Calm Mind wars and hit special walls, such as Chansey, significantly harder. However, Psyshock is less reliable against Toxapex, as most Toxapex are physically defensive.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP and Defense investment along with a Bold nature makes Mega Slowbro incredibly physical bulky, allowing Slowbro to switch in on Choice Band Diggersby to tank the hit and then Mega Evolve to tank the subsequent hit and prevent Diggersby from getting a clean KO. The spread also allows it to avoid a 2HKO from Tapu Bulu's Horn Leech. Slowbro has the ability Regenerator before Mega Evolving, letting it effectively act as a defensive pivot. Upon Mega Evolving, Mega Slowbro gains the ability Shell Armor, which allows it to safely use its setup moves.

Usage Tips
========

Avoid Mega Evolving Slowbro right away early-game, as it loses Regenerator upon Mega Evolving, which is incredibly useful for acting as a physical wall for Water teams. However, Slowbro should Mega Evolve as soon as possible against Normal teams to take on Choice Band Diggersby better. Early-game, Scald should be used often to spread burns and wear the opposing team down. Mega Slowbro has a mediocre Special Defense stat, so strong special wallbreakers like Mega Charizard Y, Tapu Koko, and Hydreigon need to be taken care of before it attempts to set up. Pokemon that carry Haze or phazing moves, such as Mantine, Swampert, and Empoleon, also need to be taken out before Mega Slowbro can attempt to set up. Status moves and entry hazards, such as Toxic and Toxic Spikes, should be avoided at all costs, as they make Mega Slowbro very easy to check by putting it on a timer. Against Water teams, Mega Slowbro should try to get burned by Scald, as this prevents the opposing team from using Toxic and crippling it, thus allowing it to set up effectively. Against Poison teams, Mega Slowbro should not switch into Toxic Spikes, as poison severely limits its ability to be a Calm Mind sweeper. Mega Slowbro can set up on passive Pokemon such as Toxapex, but one must scout for Toxic first to ensure safe setup.

Team Options
========

Toxapex has very good synergy with Mega Slowbro, as it provides a neutrality to Grass and forms a Regenerator core with Slowbro, which can be very hard for opposing teams to break. Toxapex can even check threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Volcarona, provide Toxic Spikes support for Mega Slowbro, and absorb Toxic Spikes. Swampert, Gastrodon, and Lanturn provide Mega Slowbro with a crucial Electric immunity, checking threats like Tapu Koko and Magnezone. Swampert also provides Stealth Rock support, which is useful for wearing down opposing teams and making types like Bug and Flying easier to deal with; Gastrodon has reliable recovery and good mixed bulk that allows it to better check Electric-type Pokemon for Mega Slowbro; and Lanturn can provide Heal Bell support, making it hard for opposing teams to wear down Mega Slowbro through Toxic. Mantine helps Mega Slowbro by checking special attackers such as Hydreigon and Volcarona. Additionally, it provides Defog support so that Mega Slowbro is not plagued by entry hazards like Toxic Spikes. Choice Scarf Greninja is a good teammate, as it can check fast threats such as Tapu Bulu and Tapu Koko as well as Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Latios. Keldeo breaks down walls such as Chansey, which are obstacles for Mega Slowbro if they carry Toxic. Keldeo also checks Dark-types like Hydreigon, while Mega Slowbro provides a defensive backbone for Keldeo by coming in on strong physical moves. Gyarados helps to check Grass-types such as Breloom and Tapu Bulu by utilizing its Flyinium Z set. Gyarados also acts as a secondary sweeper for Water teams and makes certain matchups, such as against Bug, a little easier. Sap Sipper Azumarill is a great teammate, as it not only provides a valuable Grass immunity to the team for checking threats such as Tapu Bulu and Breloom, but also acts as a check to Dragon-types like Hydreigon for Mega Slowbro. Azumarill can also take out walls such as Celesteela and Ferrothorn, with its Perish Song trapping set, which makes it easier for Mega Slowbro to set up. Suicune is a good teammate for Mega Slowbro, as it helps pressure Mega Slowbro's checks, making it difficult for a team to beat both.

[SET]
name: Iron Defense (Water)
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Iron Defense
move 3: Scald
move 4: Rest
item: Slowbronite
ability: Regenerator
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Calm Mind allows Mega Slowbro to patch up its lackluster Special Defense stat and tank special hits from threats like Latios and Greninja after a few Calm Mind boosts. Iron Defense allows Mega Slowbro to boost its gigantic Defense even further and shrug off strong setup sweepers such as Garchomp and Mega Pinsir, turning Mega Slowbro into an impenetrable force. Scald is the only STAB move on the set, as it offers good utility by having a very good chance to burn physical threats such as Tapu Bulu and Belly Drum Azumarill. Rest not only allows Mega Slowbro to fully regain its health but also makes Mega Slowbro unafraid of status-inducing moves such as Toxic.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP and Defense investment along with a Bold nature allows Mega Slowbro to be as physically bulky as possible and reliably check most physical attackers, including Diggersby. Regenerator as a pre-Mega ability allows Slowbro to be an effective defensive pivot for Water teams that is hard to wear down. Once it has Mega Evolved, it gains the ability Shell Armor, which gives it an easier time setting up.

Usage Tips
========

It is important to not Mega Evolve early-game, as this causes Mega Slowbro to lose out on Regenerator, which is very important for it to stay healthy during the match and act as a reliable wall for Water teams. Since Mega Slowbro has pretty lackluster Special Defense, it should not be switched in against strong special attackers such as Landorus, as it risks getting severely weakened. Mega Slowbro should attempt to use Calm Mind against physical attackers like Mega Lopunny and Mega Gallade as well as walls, as such Pokemon cannot do much damage to it in return and it can boost its Special Defense to endure special attackers on the opposing team. As Mega Slowbro relies on setup moves to pose a defensive threat, Taunt users such as stallbreaker Mew and Jellicent need to be removed before it can attempt to set up. Haze users such as Mantine and Toxapex also need to be removed, as these Pokemon can easily nullify all of Mega Slowbro's boosts and waste its PP. Additionally, Poison-types like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex need to be taken care of, as Mega Slowbro's only attacking move is Scald and both of these Pokemon resist the move. Mega Slowbro should use Rest to get rid of status conditions such as poison and set up on status inducers like Celesteela. Rest should also be used to keep Mega Slowbro healthy to allow it to better tank hits from special attackers once it starts setting up Calm Mind, while Iron Defense should be used to check physical setup sweepers and Z-Move users such as Gyarados, Bisharp, and Belly Drum Azumarill.

Team Options
========

Teammates that can cover Mega Slowbro's weakness to Electric such as Swampert and Gastrodon are appreciated. Both of these Pokemon can provide additional support for it, with Swampert using Stealth Rock to wear down Mega Slowbro's checks and counters and Gastrodon having reliable recovery and good mixed bulk to fare better against Electric teams. Toxapex provides a neutrality to Grass, which is important for checking threats such as Mega Venusaur. Additionally, Toxapex can provide Toxic Spikes support to wear down teams for Mega Slowbro and can also stop special set up sweepers such as Volcarona with Haze. Mantine can check strong special attackers such as Mega Charizard Y and Hydreigon as well as provide Defog support so that Mega Slowbro is not worn down by entry hazards such as Toxic Spikes, which may force it to use Rest. For stall teams, Alomomola is another good teammate that acts as a good mixed wall and can relieve pressure on Mega Slowbro to check physical attackers. It also forms a Regenerator core with Slowbro that is very hard to break past, provides Wish support to help with recovery, and checks threats such as Mega Venusaur by utilizing Mirror Coat. Sap Sipper Azumarill covers Water's weakness to Grass-type moves and checks Pokemon such as Breloom and Tapu Bulu, which can cripple or break past Mega Slowbro. It has an additional immunity to Dragon, allowing it to check Pokemon like Hydreigon. Teammates that can break the Mega Venusaur + Toxapex core such as Flyinium Z Gyarados and Groundium Z Greninja are also good teammates for Mega Slowbro. Keldeo is a good partner for Mega Slowbro, as it can take care of Water-immune Pokemon such as Mantine and Seismitoad with Hidden Power Electric and Secret Sword.

Other Options
=============

Water
--------
Sleep Talk can be used on the Rest set over Iron Defense; however, this forces Mega Slowbro to lose out on augmenting its Defense, allowing it to be more easily broken through by setup sweepers like Bisharp.

Checks and Counters
===================

Water
--------
**Electric-types**: Strong Electric-type Pokemon such as Alolan Raichu, Tapu Koko, and Magnezone pose a huge threat to Mega Slowbro by easily KOing it with STAB moves.

**Grass-types**: Grass-type Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur, Celebi, and Tapu Bulu can easily check Mega Slowbro with super effective STAB moves and either KO it or render it severely weak.

**Dark-types**: Mega Slowbro has a hard time against Dark-types such as Hydreigon and Greninja, as they can easily check it, especially prior to setting up.

**Toxic**: Toxic puts a stop to Mega Slowbro if it lacks Rest by putting it on a timer.

**Special Attackers**: Strong special attackers, such as Mega Charizard Y and Blacephalon, can hit Mega Slowbro hard prior to setting up due to its average Special Defense stat.

**Stallbreakers**: Stallbreakers such as Jellicent and Mew can easily shut down Mega Slowbro by utilizing Taunt, as Mega Slowbro has to rely on setup moves to be a threat.

**Haze Users and Phazers**: Haze users such as Mantine can easily negate stat boosts of Mega Slowbro and waste its PP, making it hard for Mega Slowbro to beat them. Similarly, phazers such as Swampert and Empoleon can phaze out Mega Slowbro with Roar and negate its stat boosts.

**Water-immune Pokemon**: Water-immune Pokemon such as Mantine, Cradily, Seismitoad, and Gastrodon easily check the Iron Defense set, as that set has only Scald as an attacking move.

Water
========

* Mega Slowbro is a great win condition for Water-type teams with its Calm Mind set. It has all around good natural bulk, access to pre-Mega ability in Regenerator and a reliable recovery move which allows it to set up Calm Mind relatively easily.
* Its Psychic typing allows it to threaten Poison-type teams with Psychic in order to threaten Poison-types like as with Calm Mind boosts Mega Slowbro is hard to take down. Psychic STAB move is a must for Mega Slowbro to threaten Poison-type teams as otherwise Mega Venusaur and Toxapex which can be difficult to overcome for Watercan easily check it.
* It has complementary abilities to the set and the role it plays, a great pre-Mega ability in Regenerator allows to effectively act as a defensive pivot for Water-type teams as Regenerator combined with Slack Off makes it harder to wear down. A post-Mega ability in Shell Armor lets it set up moves such as Calm Mind and Iron Defense without the fear of critical hits.
* Mega Slowbro has impressive physical bulk at 180 Defense stat, which allows it to take on strong wallbreakers such as Mega Gallade and Choice Band Diggersby which can muscle through the defensive core of Water-type teams. Its defensive capabilities are further improved due to the use of Scald as it can burn physical threats with it, making Mega Slowbro incredibly hard to break past.
* However Mega Slowbro has mediocre Special Defense stat which makes it weak against strong Special attackers such as Latios and Tapu Koko. It can beat most Special attackers after a few Calm Mind boosts though.
* It also possess weaknesses to common types such as Electric- and Dark-type along with being weak to Grass- and Bug-types which stacks weaknesses on Water-type teams.You need to rephrase this so that it makes sense "..to common types such as Dark and Bug, along with being weak to Grass and Electric, which compounds Water's weaknesses."
* As its name suggests, Mega slowbro is very slow which means it will always take a hit before moving and so it can be pressured by strong wallbreakers such as Choice Specs Hydreigon.
* It is reliant on set up moves like Calm Mind and Iron Defense to pose as a threat and so Taunt users such as Mew and Jellicent can shut it down.
* Mega Slowbro is also susceptible to status moves such Toxic which greatly hinder its ability to set up and act as a defensive pivot, this is not an issue if there is Rest on the set however, then it has to rely on Sleep talk or it will have to endure Sleep turns.

Moves
========

* Scald is a STAB move that has a good chance to spread burns and further improve the bulk of Mega Slowbro by burning physical attackers making it very hard to break past Mega Slowbro.
* Psychic is secondary STAB move that allows it to hit Pokemon that resist its Water STAB move such as Mega Venusaur and Toxapex. Psyshock may be used over Psychic to win Calm Mind wars and to hit Special Walls such as Chansey significantly harder.
* Calm Mind not only allows it to boost its middling Special Defense stat but it also makes it hit harder due to the increase in its Special Attack which stands at a good base 130.
* Slack Off allows it a reliable recovery move which lets it act as a defensive pivot effectively without getting worn downout. Calm Mind combined with Slack Off makes Mega Slowbro hard to check and wear down for opposing teams.

Set Details
========

* Maximum HP investment and Maximum Defense investment along with a Bold Nature makes Mega Slowbro incredibly bulky on the physical side.
* Slowbronite as an item allows much greater improved physical bulk upon Mega Evolving, allowing it to check even more threats for Water-type teams.
* It has the ability Regenerator before Mega Evolving which provides it as a form of recovery, letting it act as a defensive pivot effectively. Upon Mega Evolving, Mega Slowbro gains the ability Shell Armor which makes it immune to critical hits, allowing to set up moves without the fear of getting struck by it.

Usage Tips
========

* During Early-game, one should avoid Mega Evolving Slowbro right away as it loses its ability Regenerator upon Mega Evolving which is incredibly useful to act as a Physical Wall for Water-type teams.
* During Early-game, Scald should be used often to spread burns and get chip damage against opposing teams which gradually helps in wearing teams out.
* It has mediocre Special Defense stat and so strong wallbreakers like Mega Charizard Y, Tapu Koko and Volcarona need to be taken care of before it attempts to set up.
* Add in defensive mons that need to be handled before setting up due to Haze/Phaze
* Status moves and Entry hazard such as Toxic and Toxic Spikes respectively should be avoided at all costs, as it makes Mega Slowbro very easy to check, putting it on timer and hindering its ability to act as a defensive pivot and as a bulky sweeper.
* Mega Slowbro should attempt to set up Calm Mind only when its check and counters such as Tapu koko, Hydreigon and Choice Specs Blacephalon have been removed. This is the same exact statement as your 3rd bullet, it's repetitive, so you can just remove it.
* Could talk about trying to let mbro get burned so that it cannot be toxic'd, and mention matchups where that's relevant.

Team Options
========

* Toxapex has very good synergy with Mega Slowbro as it provides Grass neutrality and forms Regenerator core with Mega Slowbro which can be very hard for to break. It checks threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Volcarona. It also provides Toxic Spikes support for Mega Slowbro and acts as a Toxic Spikes absorber as well.
* Swampert, Gastrodon and Lanturn provide crucial Electric immunity for Mega Slowbro, checking threats such as Tapu Koko and Magnezone. Swampert also provides Stealth Rock support which is useful for wearing down opposing teams and making match ups such as Bug and Flying easier to deal with. Gastrodon has reliable recovery and good mixed bulk which allows it to better check Electric-type Pokemon for Mega Slowbro. Lanturn can provide clericHeal Bell support, making it hard for opposing teams to wear down Mega Slowbro through status moves such as Toxic.
* Mantine helps Mega Slowbro by checking special attackersthreats such as Hydreigon and Mega Charizard Y (Pick a different example than MCharY as you just used it with Toxapex). Additionally it also provides Defog support so that Mega Slowbro is not plagued by entry hazards such as Toxic Spikes.
* Greninja is a good teammate as it can check faster threats such as Tapu Bulu and Tapu Koko with a Choice Scarf set. It can also check Dragon types such as Hydreigon and Latios with Ice Beam for Mega Slowbro. It can utilize Groundium Z set to break defensive core of Poison-type teams making it easier for Mega Slowbro to set up.
* Keldeo breaks down walls such as Chansey, Celesteela and Mantine which are an obstacle for Mega Slowbro as such as walls can cripple it with Toxic. Keldeo checks Dark-types such as Hydreigon for Mega Slowbro. In return Mega Slowbro provides a defensive backbone to Keldeo by coming in on strong physical moves.
* Gyarados helps to check Grass-types such as Mega Venusaur, Breloom and Tapu Bulu by utilizing Flyinium Z set. Such Grass types are a trouble for Mega Slowbro and can hinder its ability to set up and act as a defensive wall by severely weakening it.
* Sap Sipper Azumarill is a great teammate as it not only provides a valuable Grass-type immunity to the team in checking threats such as Tapu Bulu and Breloom but it also act as a Dragon-type check by checking Pokemon such as Hydreigon for Mega Slowbro. It utilizes Perish Trap set which takes out walls such as Celesteela and Ferrothorn and makes it easier for Mega Slowbro to set up.

Moves
========

* Iron Defense allows Mega Slowbro boosts its gigantic defense even further and shrug off strong wallbreakers such as Choice Band Diggersby, turning Mega Slowbro into an impenetrable fortress on the physical spectrum. I think you should use a different example than Band Diggersby since you don't need ID to beat it. Maybe mention a physical setup Pokemon instead.
* Calm Mind allows it to patch up its lackluster Special Defense stat and letting it survive special hits better after a few Calm Mind boosts such as against Latios and Greninja.
* Scald is the only STAB move on the set, it offers good utility as it has a very good chance to burn physical threats such as Belly Drum Azumarill and Tapu Bulu, making it very hard to break through Mega Slowbro on the physical side.
* Rest not only allows Mega Slowbro to fully regain its health but it also makes Mega Slowbro not weak to status moves such as Toxic as Mega Slowbro can simply use Rest and cure status moves which otherwise can hamper its ability to be a bulky sweeper.

Set Details
========

* Maximum HP and Defense investment along with a Bold Nature allows Mega Slowbro to be as bulky as possible and to reliably check most physical attackers such as Mega Lopunny, Mega Gallade and Diggersby.
* Slowbronite as an item lets it Mega Evolve and gain improved Physical Bulk as well as increase in its Special Attack stat.
* Regenerator as a pre-Mega ability allows to be an effective defensive pivot for Water-type teams that is hard to wear down. Once it has Mega Evolved it gains the ability Shell Armor which makes it immune to critical hits and is complementary to the set up moves it runs such as Calm Mind and Iron Defense.

Usage Tips
========

* It is important to not Mega Evolve early-game as it loses its ability Regenerator otherwise, which is very important for it to stay healthy during the match and act as a defensive wall for water-type teams.
* Since Mega Slowbro has pretty lackluster Special Defense, it should not be pivoted against strong Special attackers such as Landorus and Greninja as it risks getting severely weakened.
* It should attempt to set up Calm Mind on Physical attackers and walls as such Pokemon cannot do much damage to it in return and it can boost its stats to endure against Special attackers on the opposing team.
* As Mega Slowbro relies on set up moves to pose as a defensive threat, Taunt users such as Stallbreaker Mew and Jellicent need to be removed before it can attempt to set up.
* You need to mirror a lot of the bullets that you provided in the previous set, including the ones I told you to add. There should be even more of a focus on finding opportunities to set up and when to not set up as this set is completely reliant on doing so. Additionally, talk specifically about dealing with its Poison-type checks as this set doesn't have Psychic to deal with them (namely MVenu and Toxapex).

Team Options
========

* Teammates that can cover its weakness to Electric-type moves are appreciated. Pokemon such as Swampert, and Gastrodon cover its weakness to Electric-type moves and provide additional utility support to it. Swampert provides Stealth Rock support which is important to wear down checks and counters for Mega Slowbro. Gastrodon has reliable recovery and good mixed bulk and so it fares better against Electric-type teams.
* Toxapex provides Grass-type neutrality which is important to check threats such as Mega Venusaur. It can also provide with Toxic Spikes support to wear down teams for Mega Slowbro and can stop Special attackers such as Volcarona with Haze.
* Mantine can check strong Special attackers for Mega Slowbro such as Mega Charizard Y and Hydreigon, Volcarona and Latios. It provides Defog support as well so that Mega Slowbro is not worn out due to hazards such as Toxic Spikes which may force it to use Rest.
* Alomomola is another good teammate that acts as a good mixed wall and can relieve pressure off Mega Slowbro to check Physical attackers. It forms Regenerator core with Mega Slowbro which is very hard to break past, additionally providing Wish support. It can check threats such as Mega Venusaur for Mega Slowbro by utilizing Mirror Coat.
* Sap Sipper Azumarill covers its weakness to Grass-type moves and checks Pokemon such as Breloom and Tapu Bulu and Mega Charizard Y which can cripple or break past Mega Slowbro. It has additional immunity to Dragon-types allowing it to check Pokemon such as Hydreigon.
* Teammates that can break defensive core of Poison-type teams such as Flyinium Z Gyarados and Groundium Z Greninja are also good teammates for Mega Slowbro as Mega Slowbro has trouble against Pokemon such as Toxapex and Mega Venusaur.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Water
--------
* A Rest and Sleep Talk can be used on the Rest set over Iron Defense can be used however this forces Mega Slowbro to lose its defensive setup, allowing it to be more easily checked. STAB option which makes it easier to check it. For instance, If there is only Scald on the set as an attacking move then the set gets walled by Water immune Pokemon such as Jellicent and it becomes much easier for Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur and Toxapex to check it. This last sentence isn't necessary since the rest set has Scald as its only attacking move anyways.

Checks and Counters

Water
--------
**Electric-types**: Strong Electric-type Pokemon such as Alolan Raichu, Tapu Koko and Magnezone all pose a huge threat to Mega Slowbro and can easily KO it with STAB Electric -type moves.

**Grass-types**: Grass-type Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur, Celebi, Tapu Bulu can easily check Mega Slowbro with super effective Grass-type moves and KO it or render it severely weak.

**Dark-types**:

**Status MovesToxic**: Status Moves such as Toxic puts a stop to Mega Slowbro without Rest and its defensive capabilities as it is then much easier to wear down and cannot set up effectively as it is put on a timer. This is especially hindering if Mega Slowbro is utilizing Slack off as recovery option.

**Special Attackers**: Strong Special attackers such as Hydreigon, Mega Charizard Y, Blacephalon etc can all hit Mega Slowbro hard prior to setting up due to its average Special Defense stat.

**Stallbreakers**: Stallbreakers such as Hydreigon, Jellicent and Mew can easily shut down Mega Slowbro by utilizing Taunt as Mega Slowbro has to rely on set up moves to be a threat.
QC 1/3 generally you repeat the same examples a lot, so try not to do so so much. Also, you really don't need to give more than 2 examples per statement unless it's super important.

Moves
========

* Calm Mind not only allows it to boost its middling Special Defense stat but it also makes it hit harder due to the increase in its Special Attack which stands at a good base 130. You could rephrase this a bit. "Calm Mind boosts Mega Slowbro's Special Attack and Special Defense, making it more powerful while patching up it's middling Special Defense to make it more difficult to check"
* Slack Off allows it a reliable recovery move which lets it act as a defensive pivot effectively without getting worn down. Calm Mind combined with Slack Off makes Mega Slowbro hard to check and wear down for opposing teams.
Psyshock should be it's own bullet.

Set Details
========

* Maximum HP investment and Maximum Defense investment along with a Bold Nature makes Mega Slowbro incredibly bulky on the physical side. I believe this spread is used specifically so that Slowbro can switch in on Diggersby non-megad, then mega and live the subsequent hit, preventing Diggersby from getting a clean KO before M-bro has m-evolved. It also lets Mega Slowbro avoid the 2HKO from Tapu Bulu Horn Leech. You should mention this.

Usage Tips
========

* During Early-game, one should avoid Mega Evolving Slowbro right away as it loses its ability Regenerator upon Mega Evolving which is incredibly useful to act as a Physical Wall for Water-type teams. Make a point that sometimes it's worth mega evolving earlier, i.e. to switch into Choice Band Diggersby
Volcarona isn't a good example, since without Bug Buzz i'm pretty sure Mega Slowbro wins that 1v1 if it boosted first. Hydreigon might be a better example
* Pokemon that carry Haze such as Mantine, need to be taken out before Mega Slowbro can attempt to set up as such Pokemon can simply erase stat boost. In a similar vein, Phazers such as Swampert and Empoleon need to be handled before Mega Slowbro can set up Calm Mind.
* Status moves and Entry hazard such as Toxic and Toxic Spikes respectively should be avoided at all costs, as it makes Mega Slowbro very easy to check, putting it on timer and hindering its ability to act as a defensive pivot and as a bulky sweeper.
* Against Water-type teams, Mega Slowbro should try and get scald burn on it as then the opposing team cannot use Toxic and cripple it, thus allowing it to set up effectively.

Team Options
========

* Toxapex has very good synergy with Mega Slowbro as it provides Grass neutrality and forms Regenerator core with Slowbro which can be very hard for to break.
Lanturn can provide Heal Bell support, making it hard for opposing teams to wear down Mega Slowbro through status moves such as Toxic.
* Mantine helps Mega Slowbro by checking special attackers such as Hydreigon and Volcarona.
I don't believe Mega Slowbro needs the support of the Groundium-Z set. Calm Mind should be able to beat Muk-A eventually.
I'd drop Mantine as an example of a wall Keldeo breaks, since it needs to make the HP Electric prediction correctly. I'd also remove Celesteela, since those don't often run Toxic.
* Gyarados helps to check Grass-types such as Breloom and Tapu Bulu by utilizing Flyinium Z set. Such Grass types are a trouble for Mega Slowbro and can hinder its ability to set up and act as a defensive wall by severely weakening it. Cut the last line and instead talk about Gyarados acting as a secondary win condition / offensive sweeper

Moves
========

* Calm Mind allows it to patch up its lackluster Special Defense stat and letting it survive special hits better after a few Calm Mind boosts such as against Latios and Greninja.
* Iron Defense allows Mega Slowbro boosts its gigantic defense even further and shrug off strong set up sweepers such as Garchomp and Mega Pinsir, turning Mega Slowbro into an impenetrable fortress on the physical spectrum.
* Scald is the only STAB move on the set, it offers good utility as it has a very good chance to burn physical threats such as Belly Drum Azumarill and Tapu Bulu.
* Rest not only allows Mega Slowbro to fully regain its health but it also makes Mega Slowbro not weak to status moves such as Toxic as Mega Slowbro can simply use Rest and cure status moves which otherwise can hamper its ability to be a bulky sweeper.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Greninja isn't a good example of a "strong special attacker" since it can't 2HKO after a single calm mind boost.
* It should attempt to set up Calm Mind on Physical attackers and walls as such Pokemon cannot do much damage to it in return and it can boost its stats to endure against Special attackers on the opposing team. Give some examples of Pokemon it can set up that don't do much damage
* As Mega Slowbro relies on set up moves to pose as a defensive threat, Taunt users such as Stallbreaker Mew and Jellicent need to be removed before it can attempt to set up.
* Haze users such as Mantine and Toxapex need to be checked before Mega Slowbro can attempt to set up, such Haze users can easily nullify all its boosts and waste PP.
* Poison-types like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex need to be taken care of as this set runs only Scald as an attacking move and struggles to damage with a STAB move that is resisted by both of the aforementioned Pokemon.

Team Options
========

* Mantine can check strong Special attackers for Mega Slowbro such as Mega Charizard Yand Hydreigon.
It forms Regenerator core with Slowbro which is very hard to break past, additionally providing Wish support. It can check threats such as Mega Venusaur for Mega Slowbro by utilizing Mirror Coat. Mention that this is only on pure stall builds.
* Sap Sipper Azumarill covers its weakness to Grass-type moves and checks Pokemon such as Breloom and Tapu Bulu which can cripple or break past Mega Slowbro.

Mega Venusaur might not be the best example, since after a few calm minds it can't threaten Mega Slowbro a whole lot and is very threatened itself by Psychic STAB.

**Dark-types**: Mega Slowbro has a hard time vs Dark-types such as Hydreigon and Greninja. Such Pokemon can easily check it especially prior to setting up.

**Toxic**: Toxic puts a stop to Mega Slowbro without Rest and its defensive capabilities as it is then much easier to wear down and cannot set up effectively as it is put on a timer.

**Special Attackers**: Strong Special attackers such as Mega Charizard Y and Blacephalon etc can all hit Mega Slowbro hard prior to setting up due to its average Special Defense stat.

**Stallbreakers**: Stallbreakers such as Jellicent and Mew can easily shut down Mega Slowbro by utilizing Taunt as Mega Slowbro has to rely on set up moves to be a threat.

*Add a bullet for Hazers and Phazers

Calm Mind:
Moves:
- Explain that Psyshock is much less reliable against Toxapex.

Usage Tips:
- Probably worth talking about Poison a little here, since that's a sizable part of the motivation of this set.

Team Options:
- Although it may seem redundant, Suicune is actually a pretty decent teammate, as together their checks are overloaded and have a hard time beating both.

Iron Defense:
Usage Tips:
- Talk about using Rest and when it's safe, etc.
- Also talk about when to use Iron Defense

Team Options:
- Definitely mention Pokemon that check Water-immune Pokemon, since Mega Slowbro only has Scald. Choice Specs Keldeo with Hidden Power Electric handles most of them with either that or Secret Sword.

Checks and Counters:

Water
========

Mega Slowbro is a great win condition for Water-type teams with its Calm Mind set. It has all around good natural bulk, access to pre-Mega ability in Regenerator,(AC) and a reliable recovery move with Slack Off,(AC) which allows it to set up Calm Mind relatively easily. (The Oxford comma is required by Smogon standards. I also changed the last subject of the list as it had to match how the other subjects were worded.) Its Psychic typing allows it to threaten Poison-type teams with Psychic in order to threaten Mega Venusaur and Toxapex,(AC) which can be difficult to overcome for Water. It has complementary abilities to the set and the role it plays,(RC) and a great pre-Mega ability in Regenerator that allows it to effectively act as a defensive pivot for Water-type teams as Regenerator,(AC) combined with Slack Off,(AC) makes it harder to wear down. (The interrupting clause needs commas around it, and the comma from before made this sentence a run-on sentence.) A post-Mega ability in Shell Armor lets it set up moves,(AC) such as Calm Mind and Iron Defense,(AC) without the fear of critical hits. Mega Slowbro has impressive physical bulk at with a 180 Defense stat, which allows it to take on strong wallbreakers such as like Mega Gallade and Choice Band Diggersby which can that would otherwise muscle through the defensive core of Water-type teams. (This sentence in particular sounded rather choppy due to the multiple breaks with "such as" and "which can", so I tweaked the wording to help it flow better.) Its defensive capabilities are further improved due to the use of Scald as it can burn physical threats with it, making Mega Slowbro incredibly hard to break past. However,(AC) Mega Slowbro has a mediocre Special Defense stat,(AC) which makes it weak against strong Special attackers,(AC) such as Latios and Tapu Koko,(AC) It although it can beat most Special attackers after a few Calm Mind boosts though. (These two sentences were connected as the second one felt too short on its own.) It also possess weaknesses to types such as Dark and Bug,(RC) along with being weak to Grass and Electric, which compounding Water's weaknesses. (Previous parts of the sentence are in the present tense, so I changed "which compound" to present perfect tense to match.) Mega slowbro Slowbro is very slow,(AC) which means it will always take a hit before moving,(AC) and so it can be pressured by strong wallbreakers such as like Choice Specs Hydreigon. It is reliant on set up moves like Calm Mind and Iron Defense to pose as a threat,(AC) and so Taunt users such as Mew and Jellicent can shut it down. Mega Slowbro is also susceptible to status moves,(AC) such as Toxic,(AC) which greatly hinder its ability to set up and act as a defensive pivot, but this is not an issue if there is Rest on in the set however.

Moves
========

Calm Mind boosts Mega Slowbro's Special Attack and Special Defense, making it more powerful while patching up it's its middling Special Defense ,(AC) to making it more difficult to check. Slack Off allows gives it a reliable recovery move,(AC) which lets it act as a defensive pivot effectively without getting worn down. ("Gives" is a better verb than "allows" in this case as "give" is a direct contribution to Slowbro while "allows" is simply permission granted.) Calm Mind,(AC) combined with Slack Off,(AC) makes Mega Slowbro hard to check and wear down for opposing teams. Scald is a STAB move that has a good chance (maybe you should put the actual percentage here) to spread burns and further improve the bulk of Mega Slowbro Mega Slowbro's bulk by burning physical attackers,(AC) making it very hard to break past Mega Slowbro. (Avoid passive voice wherever possible.) Psychic is its secondary STAB move that allows it to hit Pokemon that resist its Water STAB move such as like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex. Psyshock may be used over Psychic to win Calm Mind wars and to hit Special Walls,(AC) such as Chansey,(AC) significantly harder. However,(AC) Psyshock is less reliable against Toxapex as most Toxapex run a physically defensive set.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP investment and Maximum maximum Defense investment along with a Bold Nature makes Mega Slowbro incredibly bulky on the physical side,(AC) allowing Slowbro to switch-in on Choice Band Diggersby to tank the hit and then Mega Evolve to tank the subsequent hit and preventing Diggersby from getting a clean KO before Slowbro has Mega Evolved. The spread also allows it to avoid the 2HKO from Tapu Bulu's Horn Leech. Slowbronite as an item allows much greater improved physical bulk upon Mega Evolving, allowing it to check even more threats for Water-type teams. It has the ability Regenerator before Mega Evolving,(AC) which provides it as a form of recovery, letting it act as a defensive pivot effectively. Upon Mega Evolving, Mega Slowbro gains the ability Shell Armor,(AC) which makes it immune to critical hits and allowing allows it to use set up moves without the fear of getting struck by it a crit.

Usage Tips
========

During Early-game, one should avoid Mega Evolving mega evolving Slowbro right away as it loses its ability Regenerator upon Mega Evolving mega evolving,(AC) which is incredibly useful to act as a Physical Wall physical wall for Water-type teams. However,(AC) it is worth noting that against Normal-type teams, Slowbro should Mega Evolve mega evolve as soon as possible to take on Choice Band Diggersby better. During early-game, Scald should be used often to spread burns and get chip damage against opposing teams,(AC) which gradually helps in wearing teams out. It Mega Slowbro has a mediocre Special Defense stat,(AC) and so strong wallbreakers like Mega Charizard Y, Tapu Koko and Hydreigon need to be taken care of before it attempts to set up. (Mega Slowbro should be used over "it" in the beginning since you use "it" later on in the sentence, and that can get rather confusing.) Pokemon that carry Haze,(AC) such as Mantine, need to be taken out before Mega Slowbro can attempt to set up as such Pokemon can simply erase stat boosts. In a similar vein, Phazers phazers such as Swampert and Empoleon need to be handled before Mega Slowbro can set up Calm Mind. Status moves and Entry entry hazards,(AC) such as Toxic and Toxic Spikes,(AC) respectively,(AC) should be avoided at all costs,(RC) as it makes Mega Slowbro very easy to check, putting it on a timer and hindering its ability to act as a defensive pivot and as a bulky sweeper. Against Water-type teams, Mega Slowbro should try and get scald burn on it burned by Scald as then the opposing team cannot use Toxic and cripple it, thus allowing it to set up effectively. Against Poison-type teams, Mega Slowbro should not switch into Toxic Spikes as it severely limits its ability to be a Calm Mind sweeper. Mega Slowbro can set up on passive Pokemon,(AC) such as Toxapex,(AC) however but one must scout the set for Toxapex as,(AC) if it has Toxic,(AC) then it can cripple Mega Slowbro,(AC) limiting its sweep.

Team Options
========

Toxapex has very good synergy with Mega Slowbro as it provides Grass neutrality and forms a Regenerator core with Slowbro,(AC) which can be very hard for opposing teams to break. It checks threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Volcarona. It and also provides Toxic Spikes support for Mega Slowbro and acts as well as a Toxic Spikes absorber as well. (These sentences are rather small, so combining them together helps the flow of the paragraph.) Swampert, Gastrodon,(AC) and Lanturn provide crucial Electric immunity for Mega Slowbro, checking threats such as like Tapu Koko and Magnezone. Swampert also provides Stealth Rock support,(AC) which is useful for wearing down opposing teams and making match-ups,(AC) such as Bug and Flying,(AC) easier to deal with. Gastrodon has reliable recovery and good mixed bulk which that allows it to better check Electric-type Pokemon for Mega Slowbro. (I changed "which" to "that" as "which has been used a lot throughout the paragraph, so I wanted to make sure the wording here was more varied.) Lanturn can provide Heal Bell support, making it hard for opposing teams to wear down Mega Slowbro through status moves such as Toxic. Mantine helps Mega Slowbro by checking special attackers such as Hydreigon and Volcarona. Additionally,(AC) it also provides Defog support so that Mega Slowbro is not plagued by entry hazards such as like Toxic Spikes. Greninja is a good teammate as it can check faster threats,(AC) such as Tapu Bulu and Tapu Koko,(AC) with a Choice Scarf set. It can also check Dragon types such as like Hydreigon and Latios with Ice Beam for Mega Slowbro. Keldeo breaks down walls,(AC) such as Chansey,(AC) which is are an obstacles for Mega Slowbro as such as walls can cripple it with Toxic. Keldeo checks Dark-types such as like Hydreigon for Mega Slowbro,(AC) and,(AC) in In return,(AC) Mega Slowbro provides a defensive backbone to Keldeo by coming in on strong physical moves. Gyarados helps to check Grass-types,(AC) such as Breloom and Tapu Bulu,(AC) by utilizing its Flyinium Z set. Gyarados also acts as a secondary win condition for Water-type teams and makes match-ups,(AC) such as Bug,(AC) a little easier. Sap Sipper Azumarill is a great teammate as it not only provides a valuable Grass-type immunity to the team in checking threats,(AC) such as Tapu Bulu and Breloom,(AC) but it also acts as a Dragon-type check,(AC) by checking Pokemon such as like Hydreigon for Mega Slowbro. (The phrase "Not only" has to be paired with a "but also", so that's why the "it" is being removed. ) It utilizes its Perish Trap set which that takes out walls,(AC) such as Celesteela and Ferrothorn,(AC) and makes it easier for Mega Slowbro to set up. Suicune is a good teammate for Mega Slowbro,(RC) as Suicune helps to pressure Mega Slowbro's checks to Mega Slowbro,(AC) hence allowing it to weaken and pressure shared checks. Together,(AC) their checks are overloaded and are too much to handle for most teams, so most of the teams have a hard time beating both. (I'm confused - is the opposing team overloaded or are Bro + Cune overloaded? You may want to reword that.)

Calm Mind allows it to patch up its lackluster Special Defense stat and letsting it survive special hits from threats like Latios and Greninja better after a few Calm Mind boosts such as against Latios and Greninja. (I moved the last part to right after "special hits" to make it clear that the special hits come from these Pokemon.) Iron Defense allows Mega Slowbro to boosts its gigantic defense even further and shrug off strong set up sweepers such as Garchomp and Mega Pinsir, turning Mega Slowbro into an impenetrable fortress on the physical spectrum. Scald is the only STAB move on the set,(RC) as it offers good utility as since it has a very good chance to burn physical threats such as Belly Drum Azumarill and Tapu Bulu. Rest not only allows Mega Slowbro to fully regain its health but it also makes Mega Slowbro not weak to status moves such as Toxic.

Set Details

Maximum HP and Defense investment along with a Bold Nature allows Mega Slowbro to be as bulky as possible and to reliably check most physical attackers such as Diggersby. Slowbronite as an item lets it Mega Evolve and gain improved Physical Bulk as well as increased in its Special Attack stat. (Both statements around the "and" need to be in the same tense, so I edited the last one for this to be the case.) Regenerator as a pre-Mega ability allows it to be an effective defensive pivot for Water-type teams that is hard to wear down. Once it has Mega Evolved,(AC) it gains the ability Shell Armor,(AC) which makes it immune to critical hits and is complementary to the set up moves it runs,(AC) such as Calm Mind and Iron Defense.

Usage Tips
========

It is important to not Mega Evolve early-game as it Mega Slowbro loses its ability Regenerator otherwise, which is very important for it to stay healthy during the match and act as a defensive wall for water-type teams. (Since we're starting a new paragraph, we shouldn't use "it" in place of Mega Slowbro. We also use "it" later on in the sentence, and that can cause confusion whenever the subject isn't shown at the start.) Since Mega Slowbro has pretty lackluster Special Defense, it should not be pivoted against strong Special attackers such as Landorus as it risks getting severely weakened. It should attempt to set up Calm Mind on Physical attackers and walls as such Pokemon cannot do much damage to it in return,(AC) and it can boost its stats to endure against Special attackers on the opposing team. Mega Slowbro can set up easily against Pokemon,(AC) such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Gallade,(AC) as such Pokemon find it hard to break through it. As Mega Slowbro relies on set up moves to pose as a defensive threat, Taunt users such as stallbreaker Mew and Jellicent need to be removed before it can attempt to set up. Haze users such as Mantine and Toxapex need to be checked before Mega Slowbro can attempt to set up; such Haze users can easily nullify all its of Mega Slowbro's boosts and waste its PP. (Mega Slowbro should replace the first "it" as this sentence is connected with one talking about Toxapex and Mantine; it may be confusing otherwise as people may think this sentence is referring to one of them.) Poison-types like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex need to be taken care of as this set runs only Scald as an attacking move and struggles to damage with a STAB move that is resisted by both of these aforementioned Pokemon. Mega Slowbro should use Rest to get rid of status moves such as Toxic and set up on such status move users such as like Celesteela. Rest should be used to keep Mega Slowbro healthy to allow it to tank hits better from Special attackers once it starts setting up Calm Mind,(AC) while Iron Defense should be used to check set up sweepers and Z-Move users,(AC) such as Gyarados, Bisharp and Belly Drum Azumarill.

Team Options
========

Teammates that can cover its weakness to Electric-type moves are appreciated. Pokemon such as Swampert,(RC) and Gastrodon cover its weakness to Electric-type moves and provide additional utility support to for it. ("For" is a more precise preposition here as the support is not directly given to Slowbro.) Swampert provides Stealth Rock support which is important to wear down checks and counters for Mega Slowbro. Gastrodon has reliable recovery and good mixed bulk,(AC) and so it fares better against Electric-type teams. Toxapex provides Grass-type neutrality,(AC) which is important to check threats such as Mega Venusaur. It can also provide with Toxic Spikes support to wear down teams for Mega Slowbro and can stop special attackers such as Volcarona with Haze. Mantine can check strong special attackers for Mega Slowbro,(AC) such as Mega Charizard Y and Hydreigon. It provides Defog support as well so that Mega Slowbro is not worn out due to hazards such as Toxic Spikes,(AC) which may force it to use Rest. For Stall type teams, Alomomola is another good teammate that acts as a good mixed wall and can relieve pressure off Mega Slowbro to check physical attackers. It forms a Regenerator core with Slowbro which that is very hard to break past, additionally providing Wish support to help with recovery. It can check threats such as Mega Venusaur for Mega Slowbro by utilizing Mirror Coat. Sap Sipper Azumarill covers its weakness to Grass-type moves and checks Pokemon,(AC) such as Breloom and Tapu Bulu,(AC) which can cripple or break past Mega Slowbro. It has additional immunity to Dragon-types allowing it to check Pokemon such as Hydreigon. Teammates that can break the defensive core of Poison-type teams such as Flyinium Z Gyarados and Groundium Z Greninja are also good teammates for Mega Slowbro as Mega Slowbro has trouble against Pokemon in this core,(AC) such as Toxapex and Mega Venusaur. Keldeo is a good partner for Mega Slowbro as it can take care of Pokemon that are Water-immune such as Mantine and Seismitoad. Keldeo as it can pressure and take out such Water-immune Pokemon with Hidden Power Electric and Secret Sword,(AC) respectively.

However, Psyshock is less reliable against Toxapex, (AC) as most Toxapex run a are physically defensive set.

Set Details

Maximum HP investment and maximum Defense investment along with a Bold nature makes Mega Slowbro incredibly physical bulky on the physical side, allowing Slowbro to switch-(RH) in on Choice Band Diggersby to tank the hit and then Mega Evolve to tank the subsequent hit and prevent Diggersby from getting a clean KO before Slowbro has Mega Evolved. The spread also allows it to avoid the 2HKO from Tapu Bulu's Horn Leech. Slowbronite as an item allows gives Slowbro access to much greater improved physical bulk upon Mega Evolving, allowing it to check even more threats for to Water-type teams. It Slowbro has the ability Regenerator before Mega Evolving, which provides it as with a form of recovery, letting it effectively act as a defensive pivot effectively. Upon Mega Evolving, Mega Slowbro gains the ability Shell Armor, which makes it immune to critical hits and allows it to safely use its set up setup moves without the fear of getting struck by a crit. (only bc you mentioned it above.)

Usage Tips
========

During Early-game, one should Avoid Mega Evolving Slowbro right away early-game, (AC) as it loses its ability Regenerator upon Mega Evolving, which is incredibly useful to act as a physical wall for Water-type teams. However, it is worth noting that against Normal-type teams, Slowbro should Mega Evolve as soon as possible to take on Choice Band Diggersby better. During Early-game, Scald should be used often to spread burns and get chip damage against opposing teams, which gradually helps in wearing teams out. Mega Slowbro has a mediocre Special Defense stat, so strong special wallbreakers like Mega Charizard Y, Tapu Koko, (AC) and Hydreigon need to be taken care of before it attempts to set up. Pokemon that carry Haze, such as Mantine, also need to be taken out before Mega Slowbro can attempt to set up, (AC) as such Pokemon can simply erase its stat boosts. In a similar vein, phazers such as Swampert and Empoleon need to be handled before Mega Slowbro can set up Calm Mind. Status moves and entry hazards, such as Toxic and Toxic Spikes, respectively, should be avoided at all costs, (AC) as it they makes Mega Slowbro very easy to check, (RC) by putting it on a timer and hindering its ability to act as a defensive pivot and as a bulky sweeper. Against Water-type teams, Mega Slowbro should try and get burned by Scald, (AC) as this prevents the opposing team cannot from use using Toxic and cripple crippling it, thus allowing it to set up effectively. Against Poison-type teams, Mega Slowbro should not switch into Toxic Spikes, (AC) as it they severely limits its ability to be a Calm Mind sweeper. Mega Slowbro can set up on passive Pokemon, such as Toxapex, but one must scout the set for Toxapex's set, (AC) as, (RC) if it has Toxic, then it can cripple Mega Slowbro, limiting its sweep. (i thought you were supposed to wait for pex to be removed bc of haze.)

Team Options
========

Toxapex has very good synergy with Mega Slowbro, (AC) as it provides a Grass neutrality to Grass and forms a Regenerator core with Slowbro, which can be very hard for opposing teams to break. It Toxapex can even checks threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Volcarona, (AC) and also provides Toxic Spikes support for Mega Slowbro, (AC) as well as a Toxic Spikes absorber and also absorbs Toxic Spikes. Swampert, Gastrodon, and Lanturn provide Mega Slowbro with a crucial Electric immunity for Mega Slowbro, checking threats like Tapu Koko and Magnezone. Swampert also provides Stealth Rock support, which is useful for wearing down opposing teams and making certain match-ups matchups, such as Bug and Flying, easier to deal with; . (ASC, RP) Gastrodon has reliable recovery and good mixed bulk that allows it to better check Electric-type Pokemon for Mega Slowbro; . (ASC, RP) and Lanturn can provide Heal Bell support, making it hard for opposing teams to wear down Mega Slowbro through Toxic. Mantine helps Mega Slowbro by checking special attackers such as Hydreigon and Volcarona. Additionally, it also provides Defog support so that Mega Slowbro is not plagued by entry hazards like Toxic Spikes. Choice Scarf Greninja is a good teammate, (AC) as it can check faster threats, such as Tapu Bulu and Tapu Koko, with a Choice Scarf set. It Greninja can also check Dragon-(AH)types like Hydreigon and Latios with Ice Beam for Mega Slowbro. Keldeo breaks down walls, such as Chansey, which are obstacles for Mega Slowbro as such walls can cripple it with Toxic. Keldeo checks Dark-types like Hydreigon for Mega Slowbro, and, in return, while Mega Slowbro provides a defensive backbone to Keldeo by coming in on strong physical moves in return. Gyarados helps to check Grass-types, such as Breloom and Tapu Bulu, by utilizing its Flyinium Z set. Gyarados also acts as a secondary win condition wincon for Water-type teams and makes match-ups matchups, such as Bug, a little easier. Sap Sipper Azumarill is a great teammate, (AC) as it not only provides a valuable Grass-type immunity to the team in checking threats, (RC) such as Tapu Bulu and Breloom, but it also acts as a check to Dragon-types check, checking Pokemon like Hydreigon for Mega Slowbro. It Azumarill utilizes its Perish Trap set that can also takes out walls, such as Celesteela and Ferrothorn, with its PerishTrap set and makes it easier for Mega Slowbro to set up. Suicune is a good teammate for Mega Slowbro, (AC) as Suicune helps to pressure Mega Slowbro's checks, hence allowing it to weaken and pressure shared checks. Together, their checks are overloaded as Mega Slowbro and Suicune have shared checks, so most of the teams have a hard time beating both. (these two points kinda sound like they're saying the same thing.)

Calm Mind allows it Mega Slowbro to patch up its lackluster Special Defense stat and lets it survive tank special hits from threats like Latios and Greninja better after a few Calm Mind boosts. Iron Defense allows Mega Slowbro to boost its gigantic Defense even further and shrug off strong set up setup sweepers such as Garchomp and Mega Pinsir, turning Mega Slowbro into an impenetrable fortress force on the physical spectrum. Scald is the only STAB move on the set, (AC) as it offers good utility, (AC) since it has a very good chance to burn physical threats such as Tapu Bulu and Belly Drum Azumarill and Tapu Bulu. Rest not only allows Mega Slowbro to fully regain its health but also makes Mega Slowbro not weak to status moves such as Toxic.

Set Details

Maximum HP and Defense investment along with a Bold Nature allows Mega Slowbro to be as physically bulky as possible and reliably check most physical attackers such as Diggersby. Slowbronite as an item lets it Slowbro Mega Evolve and gain improved physical bulk as well as increased Special Attack. Regenerator as a pre-Mega ability allows it Slowbro to be an effective defensive pivot for Water-type teams that is hard to wear down. Once it has Mega Evolved, it gains the ability Shell Armor, which makes it immune to critical hits and is complementary to the set up moves it runs, such as Calm Mind and Iron Defense gives it an easier time setting up.

Usage Tips

It is important to not Mega Evolve early-game, (AC) as this causes Mega Slowbro to loses its ability out on Regenerator otherwise, which is very important for it to stay healthy during the match and act as a defensive wall for Water-type teams. Since Mega Slowbro has pretty lackluster Special Defense, it should not be pivoted in against strong Special attackers such as Landorus, (AC) as it risks getting severely weakened. It Mega Slowbro should attempt to set up use Calm Mind on physical attackers and walls, (AC) as such Pokemon cannot do much damage to it in return, (RC) and it can boost its stats Special Defense to endure against special attackers on the opposing team. Mega Slowbro can set up easily against Pokemon, (RC) such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Gallade, as such Pokemon find it hard to break through. As Mega Slowbro relies on set up setup moves to pose a defensive threat, Taunt users such as stallbreaker Mew and Jellicent need to be removed before it can attempt to set up. Haze users such as Mantine and Toxapex also need to be checked removed before Mega Slowbro can attempt to set up; (RSC) as such Haze users these Pokemon can easily nullify all of Mega Slowbro's boosts and waste its PP. Additionally, Poison-types like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex need to be taken care of, (AC) as this set Mega Slowbro's only attacking move is runs only Scald as an attacking move and struggles to damage with a STAB move that is resisted by both of these aforementioned Pokemon both of these Pokemon resist the move. Mega Slowbro should use Rest to get rid of status moves conditions such as Toxic poison and set up on such status-inducers move users like Celesteela. Rest should also be used to keep Mega Slowbro healthy to allow it to tank hits better from special attackers once it starts setting up Calm Mind, while Iron Defense should be used to check physical set up setup sweepers and Z-Move users, such as Gyarados, Bisharp, (AC) and Belly Drum Azumarill.

Mega Slowbro is a great wincon sweeper for Water-type teams with Calm Mind, as its all around good natural bulk, access to Regenerator as a pre-Mega ability, and reliable recovery in Slack Off allow it to set up relatively easily. Mega Slowbro's Psychic typing allows it to threaten key Pokemon on Poison teams like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex, both of which can be difficult to for Water teams to overcome. Mega Slowbro's abilities complement its sets and the roles it plays, possessing a with its great pre-Mega ability in Regenerator that allows combined with Slack Off allowing it to effectively act as a defensive pivot for Water teams, as Regenerator combined with Slack Off make Slowbro harder to wear down. Slowbro's ability after Mega Evolving, Shell Armor, lets it set up with moves such as Calm Mind and Iron Defense and its Shell Armor enabling it to set up with Calm Mind and Iron Defense without the fear of critical hits. Mega Slowbro has an impressive Defense stat of base 180, which allows it to take on strong wallbreakers like Mega Gallade and Choice Band Diggersby that would otherwise muscle through defensive cores on Water teams like Mega Gallade and Choice Band Diggersby. Its defensive capabilities are further improved due to Scald, as it can burn physical threats with the move, making Mega Slowbro it incredibly hard to break past. However, Mega Slowbro has a mediocre Special Defense stat, which makes it weak against vulnerable to strong special attackers, (comma) such as Latios and Tapu Koko, although it can beat most special attackers of them after a few Calm Mind boosts. Mega Slowbro is also susceptible to status moves, (comma) such as Toxic, which greatly hinder its ability to set up and act as a defensive pivot, but this is not an issue if it is running Rest.
