[OVERVIEW]
Mega Venusaur has a solid defensive typing with adequate bulk and Thick Fat, which leaves it weak to just Flying and Psychic. This also means it is the only viable Grass-type that is not weak to either Fire- or Ice-type moves, giving it better matchups against Mega Charizard X and Choice Specs Greninja at the same time, one of which other Grass-types like Ferrothorn and Whimsicott may struggle with. It is one of the bulkiest and least passive Leech Seed users, with powerful STAB and coverage moves in Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain, and Hidden Power Fire to help it break foes like Greninja and Tapu Bulu, as well as Taunt users like Mega Mawile and other SubSeed users like Serperior and Jumpluff. It also has access to reliable recovery and stat-lowering moves via Synthesis, Rest, Sleep Powder, Charm, and Amnesia to beat offensive threats like Mega Charizard X. However, Mega Venusaur has no viable way of boosting its offenses, so it is susceptible to bulkier Pokemon like Type: Null. Mega Venusaur also is unable to do much to common Fire-, Steel-, and Dragon-types like Mega Charizard Y, Mega Metagross, and Dragonite, while also being weak to the plethora of Psychic-type Pokemon in the metagame like Tapu Lele, Mew, and Necrozma.

Moves
========
Sludge Bomb is Mega Venusaur's main attacking move that lets it hit foes such as Haxorus, Tapu Bulu, and Serperior. It also has a hefty chance to poison the foe, helping to deal some chip damage in between turns, though this shouldn't always be relied on except against bulky foes that you have multiple chances to poison. Giga Drain lets Mega Venusaur deal with Ground- and Rock-types like Donphan and Carracosta. Sleep Powder, albeit somewhat unreliable with its 75% accuracy, can turn the tide in Mega Venusaur's favor, which is crucial for matchups like Mega Charizard X and Crustle. Hidden Power Fire gives Mega Venusaur a way of hitting Steel-types such as Genesect and Mega Mawile that take little damage from its STAB moves. Earthquake is an option to deal with Heatran and Magnezone, while Synthesis makes matchups like Mega Charizard X more reliable by letting Mega Venusaur recover HP if the foe wakes up early.

Set Details
========
252 HP and 192 Defense EVs with a Bold nature ensure that Mega Venusaur survives two Outrages from Adamant Haxorus. They also improve the matchups against Mega Mawile and Mega Charizard X. 16 Speed EVs are run to outspeed non-Jolly Donphan. The rest of the EVs are invested into Special Attack to deal the most damage possible. Chlorophyll lets regular Venusaur outspeed Mega Charizard Y in sun, giving it an opportunity to win if Mega Charizard Y misses Blast Burn by outspeeding it the following turn and landing Sleep Powder first. Alternatively, running an EV spread of 208 HP / 124 SpA / 176 SpD / 16 Spe with a Calm nature allows Mega Venusaur to beat Uproar Porygon-Z and Genesect in exchange for reduced reliability against physically offensive threats like Haxorus.

Usage Tips
========

Against Pokemon that Mega Venusaur cannot safely KO before it is KOed, such as Mega Charizard X and bulky Genesect, use Sleep Powder to disable them and give Mega Venusaur extra opportunities to freely attack them. Be wary that some variants of these Pokemon run Substitute, which bypasses Sleep Powder completely, or have significant bulk investment, meaning Mega Venusaur may require three sleep turns to KO them. Use Synthesis when Mega Venusaur can be KOed if a foe wakes up early, such as after Mega Charizard X uses Outrage or Flare Blitz. Against Air Balloon Heatran, it is best to use Sleep Powder first to avoid potentially being KOed by the combination of Flash Cannon and Overheat. Then, use Giga Drain to pop its Air Balloon and use Earthquake twice to finish it off.

Team Options
========
Steel-type Pokemon like Registeel and Mega Metagross cover Mega Venusaur's only two weaknesses in Flying and Psychic, taking on threats like Dragonite and Meloetta. In return, Mega Venusaur can take out the Ground-, Fighting-, and Fire-type Pokemon that bother them like Donphan, Sawk, and Mega Charizard X. Rock-type Pokemon like Crustle and Golem make for good partners, as they beat Fire-, Flying-, and Normal-type Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, Archeops, Meloetta, and Porygon-Z, while Mega Venusaur takes care of Ground- and Steel-types like Donphan, Golem, and Mega Mawile if running Hidden Power Fire and Heatran if running Earthquake. Mega Venusaur falls to wallbreakers like Mega Charizard Y and Normalium Z Porygon-Z, so it appreciates the support from Mega Aggron and Donphan to beat these threats. In return, Mega Venusaur punishes other Grass-type Pokemon like Serperior and Ferrothorn as well as Water-type Pokemon like Primarina and Mega Gyarados that they have difficulty dealing with.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
Synthesis is Mega Venusaur's most reliable recovery method. Rest is another option over Synthesis that allows Mega Venusaur to PP stall foes more effectively. This gives Mega Venusaur better matchups against less offensive threats like non-Taunt Mega Sableye and Pyukumuku but leaves it vulnerable for two turns. Charm improves Mega Venusaur's survivability against top physical threats like Choice Band Garchomp and Mega Charizard X. Leech Seed lets Mega Venusaur deal chip damage every turn while healing itself, allowing it to win PP stall wars. Amnesia boosts Mega Venusaur's Special Defense, allowing it to hold its own against special attackers like Choice Specs Greninja and Genesect. Sludge Bomb prevents Mega Venusaur from being too passive, helping greatly against Taunt users like Mega Gyarados, Tapu Fini, and Torrent Greninja. It also has a high chance to poison its target, improving Mega Venusaur's matchups against stall Pokemon like non-Rest Mega Slowbro. Giga Drain lets Mega Venusaur pose a threat to Pokemon like Quagsire and Rest Mega Swampert and also recovers a slight amount of HP.

Set Details
========
248 HP and 112 Special Defense EVs let Mega Venusaur survive a Hyper Beam from Porygon-Z, as well as prevent Choice Specs Genesect from getting a Download boost and help Mega Venusaur against Volcarona and Choice Specs Naganadel. The leftover EVs are put into Defense with a Bold nature, which allows Mega Venusaur to take two Outrages from Choice Band Garchomp if the second one is used after Charm. If running Sludge Bomb over Amnesia, an EV spread of 248 HP / 108 Def / 80 SpA / 72 SpD with a Bold nature should be used to allow Mega Venusaur to survive a Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon Z and two Ice Beams from Choice Specs Greninja and 2HKO them in return with Sludge Bomb. Chlorophyll lets regular Venusaur outspeed Mega Charizard Y in sun, giving it an opportunity to win if Mega Charizard Y misses Blast Burn by outspeeding it the following turn and landing Sleep Powder first.

Usage Tips
========
Mega Venusaur is best used against hyper offensive Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Sawk, Zeraora, and Choice Band Garchomp. It can also work well against setup Pokemon like non-Substitute Zygarde and Volcarona that cannot boost faster than it. Against most offensive Pokemon, use the move that will be most effective at reducing damage from their future attacks; use Charm against physical attackers like Choice Band Haxorus and Garchomp, and use Amnesia against special foes like Volcarona and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. Use Synthesis when Mega Venusaur's HP is lower than 50%. Use Leech Seed as soon as possible to recover more HP while whittling the foe's health down. Against Archeops and Naganadel, use Synthesis first to see what move they use. If they use Head Smash or Draco Meteor, continue using Synthesis, as these moves' ability to 2HKO Mega Venusaur means it's best to just stall them out; otherwise, use the appropriate stat-boosting move. If running Rest, avoid Archeops and Naganadel. Instead, use Mega Venusaur against Pokemon like non-Rest Mega Slowbro and Pyukumuku. For some foes, mostly slower Taunt users unaffected by Sludge Bomb like Mega Mawile and Mega Aggron, it is better to use Leech Seed first. SubSeed users like Serperior and Jumpluff are useless against Mega Venusaur, so be sure to send it in on them.

Team Options
========
Kommo-o and Mega Gyarados appreciate Mega Venusaur outstalling Pokemon like Magearna and Mega Altaria and can take care of its bad matchups like Zygarde and Meloetta. With a glaring Psychic-type weakness, Mega Venusaur requires teammates that can beat Pokemon such as Mega Metagross, Meloetta, and Mega Gardevoir. Steel- and Bug-type Pokemon like Mega Mawile, Genesect, and Volcarona are great partners for this reason. In return, Mega Venusaur can take care of Garchomp, Mega Aggron, and Heatran. Mega Venusaur appreciates assistance from Pokemon that can handle Taunt users like Kommo-o and Mew. Mega Charizard X and Mega Gardevoir help to remedy this issue, while Mega Venusaur takes out opposing Mega Charizard X and Archeops.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
A set with maximum HP and Special Defense investment and a Calm nature gives Mega Venusaur the best chance against Mega Charizard Y.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Psychic-type Pokemon**: A plethora of prominent Psychic-type Pokemon, notably Mew, Necrozma, Tapu Lele, and Hoopa-U, are all huge threats that can blast through Mega Venusaur's defenses with their STAB super effective moves. Most of them have access to Psyshock as well, which Mega Venusaur has no way of defending against via Amnesia, although it is not often run.

**Flying-type Pokemon**: Mega Venusaur's Flying-type weakness leaves it wide open for Mega Charizard Y, Togekiss, Celesteela, and Flyinium Z users like Landorus-T and Dragonite, which have the ability to OHKO or 2HKO Mega Venusaur while tanking anything that it can throw at them.

**Stallbreakers**: Stallbreakers are able to deal with Mega Venusaur with abilities or moves that shut down its strategies. For example, Pokemon running Taunt like Mega Sableye, Deoxys-S, Heatran, and Kommo-o prevent Mega Venusaur from stalling them out.

**Opposing Stall Pokemon**: Offensive Mega Venusaur has a tough time breaking through bulky threats like Type: Null, Mega Slowbro, and Registeel, while the stall set cannot successfully PP stall due to less PP in Synthesis and Sludge Bomb compared to moves like Flame Charge, Scald, and Seismic Toss.

**Setup Pokemon**: Pokemon like Groundium Z Garchomp, Substitute or Belly Drum Mega Charizard X, and Nasty Plot Porygon-Z can set up and break through Mega Venusaur. Pokemon with Laser Focus like Meloetta and Aegislash can also completely ignore any of Mega Venusaur's defensive boosts while taking very little damage from the offensive set as well.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Mega Venusaur has a solid defensive typing with adequate bulk and Thick Fat to reduce its weaknesses to just Flying and Psychic. I would flip this and say that it makes it a grass type thats only hit neutrally by Fire and Ice, and then mention what matchups that helps in
  • It has a very reliable movepool that lets Mega Venusaur be either a defensive monolith or a bulky attacker.
  • It has access to reliable recovery and passive stalling via Synthesis, Rest, and Leech Seed.
  • Good utility options to hamper opponent's movements in Sleep Powder, Charm, and Amnesia.
  • One of the bulkiest and less passive Leech Seed users, with powerful STAB moves to help it break foes like Greninja and Tapu Bulu. combine these three, make it a complete sentence, add more examples
  • Unlike other SubSeed Pokemon, it has ways of dealing with lol nah we need to be more specific, like either say 'its access to boosting moves' or 'its offensive presence' Sound move users and some Taunt users, like Volcarona how exactly are you beating volcarona? and Mega Mawile, respectively.
  • mention that it's offensive presence in Sludge Bomb and HP Fire also lets it beat all other subseeders in a 1v1
  • It has no viable way of boosting its offenses, and with a low Speed tier, it cannot reliably deal with faster bulky threats. such as?
  • Walled by common Fire-, Steel-, and Dragon-types, like Mega Charizard Y, Mega Metagross, and Dragonite, while also being weak to the plethora of Psychic-type Pokemon in the tier like Tapu Lele, Mew, and Mega Gardevoir. unsure whether or not to include this, hyper voice + hyper beam w/o psyshock is much more common than sacrificing one or the other for psyshock.
These should all be complete sentences, don't get lazy my guy. and include examples

  • Sludge Bomb is Mega Venusaur's main attacking move that lets it hit foes such as Mega Charizard X, Haxorus Tapu Bulu, and Serperior. It also has a hefty chance to poison the foe, helping to deal some chip damage in between turns.
  • Giga Drain lets Mega Venusaur deal with Ground- and Rock-types like Donphan and Carracosta.
  • Sleep Powder, albeit somewhat unreliable with 75% accuracy, can turn the tides in Mega Venusaur's favour, by rendering the foe asleep, which aids against Pokemon like Mega Charizard X and Crustle.
  • Hidden Power Fire gives Mega Venusaur a way of hitting Steel-types that would otherwise take little damage from Mega Venusaur's STAB moves, such as Genesect, and Mega Mawile.
  • Earthquake is an option to deal with Heatran and Magnezone. (Run a Quiet nature if using Earthquake, to maximise Mega Venusaur's damage output. May be unnecessary as it is still a 2HKO) def unnecessary since we're running bold now
  • add synthesis for reason above, also move mention
Set Details
========
  • The 252 HP and 76 Defense EV investment lets it tank hits better, for example Iron Head followed by Sucker Punch from Mega Mawile.
  • This set aims to deal the most damage possible. As such, the rest of the EVs are invested into Special Attack investment with a Modest nature, notably to nab a 2HKO on uninvested Mega Charizard X and Mega Mawile with Sludge Bomb and Hidden Power Fire respectively. revamp this, mention chlorophyll
  • mention the alternative 208 HP / 124 SpA / 176 SpD / 16 Spe evs, with a Calm Nature, which is eved to beat Uproar PZ, alongside threats like Genesect, and have the speed to outspeed neutral natured Donphan

Usage Tips
========
  • Send Mega Venusaur in on foes that it can OHKO or 2HKO, like uninvested Mega Charizard X, Mega Mawile, Whimsicott, Serperior, Kartana, Mega Swampert, and Golem. kind of obvious, also lots of those examples aren't accurate
  • Generally, use an attacking move if you can OHKO or 2HKO the foes safely, and if you cannot, then use Sleep Powder. Expand upon this point, something like 'If Mega Venusaur cannot KO an opponent faster than it can be KOed, use Sleep Powder to disable the opponent and give Mega Venusaur extra opportunity to beat the opponent. This is useful against x y and z'
  • Also mention to use Synthesis against threats that could threaten you if they wake up early, like Mega Charizard X.
  • Use the appropriate super effective move to take on threats that it can OHKO or 2HKO, like Tapu Bulu, Mega Gyarados, Greninja, Primarina, Carracosta, Donphan, Mega Mawile, and Magnezone. obvious
  • Against Pokemon that Mega Venusaur cannot safely 2HKO first, such as Mega Charizard X, bulky Genesect, and Haxorus, use Sleep Powder, which is expected to around 2 turns for Mega Venusaur to freely attack the foe. Be wary that some variants of these Pokemon run Substitute, bypassing Sleep Powder completely, or have bulk, which may require 3 Sleep turns for Mega Venusaur to KO them.
  • Against Air Balloon Heatran, it is best to use Sleep Powder first, before using Giga Drain to pop the balloon, and Earthquake twice to finish them off, to avoid potentially being KOed by Flash Cannon into Overheat.
Team Options
========
  • Mega Venusaur struggles against bulkier Pokemon like Dragonite and Meloetta. Rock- and Steel-type Pokemon like Crustle and Mega Metagross are good checks to those Pokemon, and Mega Venusaur can take out Ground- and Steel-type Pokemon that bother them, like Donphan, Golem, Mega Mawile if running Hidden Power Fire, and Heatran, if running Earthquake.
  • Mega Venusaur falls to wallbreakers Mega Charizard Y and Porygon-Z, not really, and normalium variants lose to maggron and donphan thus appreciating the support from Mega Aggron and Donphan. In return, Mega Venusaur punishes other Grass-type Pokemon like Serperior and Ferrothorn, and well as Water-type Pokemon like Primarina and Mega Gyarados that they would have difficulty dealing with.
I feel like you should make Steel-types a more prominent partner, adding a weakness to psychic- and flying-types to why you should have steel-type partners, alongside bulkier Pokemon.

Moves
========
  • Synthesis is Mega Venusaur's best reliable recovery. It allows it to recover off damage safely.
  • Rest is another option over Synthesis if the PP stall set is preferred. okay but you don't say at all what you pp stall nor do you mention any points for rest in usage tips. Why are you actually running rest?
  • Charm reduces the foes' Attack, improving Mega Venusaur's survivability against prime threats like Choice Band Garchomp and Dragonite are you saying CB Dragonite? or all dragonite?.
  • Leech Seed lets Mega Venusaur deal passive damage to the opponent while healing off some of its own HP.
  • Amnesia boosts Mega Venusaur's Special Defense, allowing it to hold its own against special attackers like Choice Specs Greninja and Genesect.
  • Sludge Bomb prevents Mega Venusaur from being too passive, and has a high chance to poison its target, improving Mega Venusaur's stall matchups against Pokemon like Mega Slowbro and Deoxys-S poison would do nothing for these matchups. Having an offensive move also helps greatly against Taunt and Encore users like Mega Gyarados, Tapu Fini, Primarina, Mew not reliable, and Greninja.
  • Giga Drain lets Mega Venusaur pose a threat towards Pokemon like Quagsire and Rest Mega Swampert, and also recovers a slight amount of HP.

Set Details
========
  • Maximum HP investment with 176 Defense EVs and a Bold nature lets Mega Venusaur take a Fly from Choice Band Archeops, as well as many other physical hits like 2 Outrages from Choice Band Garchomp after Charm.
  • The remaining EVs are put into Special Defense to ensure better matchups against specially offensive Pokemon, like Volcarona and Choice Specs Naganadel.
  • revamp for new evs, also add EVs: 248 HP / 108 Def / 80 SpA / 72 SpD Bold Nature Evs to use when you're running Sludge Bomb, lets you tank Pz's hyper beam and 2hko and avoids the 2hko from Greninja's ice beam for a sludge bomb 2hko
Usage Tips
========
  • Mega Venusaur is best used against hyper offensive Pokemon that cannot hit Mega Venusaur super effectively obvious, such as Mega Gyarados, Sawk, Zeraora, and Choice Band Garchomp.
  • It can also be used against Pokemon that set up such as?, as Mega Venusaur has two of the best anti-set up moves in Charm and Amnesia, letting it deal with both physically and specially offensive Pokemon, and there being very few moves that boost more than two stages of any one stat.
  • Against most offensive opponents use the move that will be most effective at reducing damage from their future attacks. Use Charm against physical attackers like Haxorus and Garchomp. Amnesia against special foes like Volcarona and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. Use Synthesis when Mega Venusaur's HP is lower than 50%. Leech Seed as soon as possible to recover more HP while whittling their health down. combine these three points into an overall 'how and when to use amnesia and charm and against who', otherwise its very repetitive
  • Sludge Bomb when it is safe to do so. obvious, maybe just say to sludge bomb on taunt users
  • Against Archeops and Naganadel, use Synthesis first to see what move they use. If they use Head Smash or Draco Meteor, continue using Synthesis, otherwise, use the appropriate defense boosting move. This is because these moves can 2HKO Mega Venusaur, so it is best to just stall them out.
  • For some foes, it is better to Leech Seed first. This is mostly for slower Taunt users unaffected by Sludge Bomb like Mega Mawile and Mega Aggron.
  • SubSeed users like Serperior and Jumpluff are useless against Mega Venusaur, so be sure to send it in on them.

Team Options
========
  • Kommo-o and Mega Gyarados have trouble with Pokemon that cannot outstall Mega Venusaur like Magearna and Mega Altaria, while taking care of Mega Venusaur's threats like Zygarde and Meloetta.
  • With a glaring Psychic-type weakness, Mega Venusaur requires teammates that can beat Pokemon such as Mega Metagross, Meloetta, and Mega Gardevoir. Steel- and Bug-type Pokemon like Mega Mawile, Genesect, and Volcarona are great partners for this reason. In return, Mega Venusaur can take care of Garchomp, Mega Aggron, and Heatran.
  • Mega Venusaur appreciates the assistance from Pokemon that can handle Taunt users like Kommo-o and Mew. Mega Charizard X and Mega Gardevoir help to remedy this issue, while Mega Venusaur takes out opposing Mega Charizard X and Archeops.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • A Substitute and Protect set with Leech Seed and Sleep Power or Synthesis can be used to stall out opponents, however, this is largely inferior to other SubSeed stallers like Jumpluff, Whimsicott and Serperior, as Mega Venusaur's Speed is quite underwhelming.
  • A set with maximum HP and Special Defense investment with a Calm nature can take on Pokemon like Choice Specs Genesect and gives it the best chance against Mega Charizard Y. already beat genesect
Checks and Counters
===================
**Psychic-type Pokemon**: A plethora of Psychic-type Pokemon plague 1v1, notably Mew, Necrozma, Tapu Lele, and Hoopa-U, are all huge threats that can blast through Mega Venusaur's defenses with their STAB super effective moves. Having an offensive move also helps greatly against Taunt users like Mega Gyarados, Tapu Fini, and Torrent Greninja. switch the reasoning
  • Giga Drain lets Mega Venusaur pose a threat towards Pokemon like Quagsire and Rest Mega Swampert, and also recovers a slight amount of HP.

Set Details
========
  • Maximum HP investment with 112 Special Defense EVs prevents Choice Specs Genesect from getting a Download boost. It also helps against Volcarona and Choice Specs Naganadel, and lets it survive a Hyper Beam from Porygon-Z. should be first, thats the explicit reasoning.
  • The leftover EVs are put into Defense, and with a Bold nature allows Mega Venusaur to take 2 Outrages from Choice Band Garchomp after Charm.
  • If running Sludge Bomb over Amnesia, an EV spread of 248 HP / 108 Def / 80 SpA / 72 SpD with a Bold nature should be used to allow Mega Venusaur to survive a Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon Z and 2 Ice Beams from Choice Specs Greninja, while being able to 2HKO with Sludge Bomb.
  • Chlorophyll is not particularly useful. again lol sorry i forgot to add this, it is relevant if Mega Charizard Y misses or misplays turn 1, lets you have a chance with sleep powder
Usage Tips
========
  • Mega Venusaur is best used against hyper offensive Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Sawk, Zeraora, and Choice Band Garchomp. It can also work well against set up Pokemon like non-Substitute Zygarde and Volcarona that cannot boost faster than Mega Venusaur.
  • Against most offensive opponents use the move that will be most effective at reducing damage from their future attacks. Use Charm against physical attackers like Choice Band Haxorus and Garchomp. Amnesia against special foes like Volcarona and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. Use Synthesis when Mega Venusaur's HP is lower than 50%. Leech Seed as soon as possible to recover more HP while whittling their health down.
  • If running Rest, avoid those matchups. super vague. Do you mean every single matchup mentioned above? that seems like Rest would be very bad, then, if you lose all those positive mus for rarer bro variants and pyuk. Clarify Use it when up against Pokemon like non-Rest Mega Slowbro and Pyukumuku.

========
=============
  • A set with maximum HP and Special Defense investment with a Calm nature gives it the best chance against Mega Charizard Y.
Checks and Counters
===================
Most of them have access to Psyshock as well, which Mega Venusaur has no way of defending against, although that is not often run.

**Flying-type Pokemon**: Mega Venusaur's other natural weakness leaves it wide open for Mega Charizard Y, Togekiss, Celesteela, and Flyinium Z users like Landorus-T and Dragonite that have the ability to OHKO or 2HKO Mega Venusaur, while tanking anything that Mega Venusaur can throw at them.

**Stall-Breakers**: Stall breakers are able to deal with Mega Venusaur with abilities or moves that shut down its strategies. Pokemon running Taunt like Mega Sableye, Deoxys-S, Heatran, and Kommo-o, prevent Mega Venusaur from stalling.

**Opposing Stall**: Offensive Mega Venusaur has a tough time breaking through bulky threats like Type: Null, Mega Slowbro, and Registeel, while the stall set has trouble keeping up, with less PP in Synthesis and Sludge Bomb compared to moves like Flame Charge, Scald, and Seismic Toss.

**Set-up Pokemon**: Pokemon like Groundium Z Garchomp, Substitute or Belly Drum Mega Charizard X, and Nasty Plot Porygon-Z can set up and break through Mega Venusaur. Pokemon with Laser Focus like Meloetta and Aegislash can also completely ignore any of Mega Venusaur's defensive boosts, while taking very little damage from the offensive set as well.

Moves

  • Sludge Bomb is Mega Venusaur's main attacking move that lets it hit foes such as Haxorus, Tapu Bulu, and Serperior. It also has a hefty chance to poison the foe, helping to deal some chip damage in between turns.
  • Giga Drain lets Mega Venusaur deal with Ground- and Rock-types like Donphan and Carracosta.
  • Sleep Powder, albeit somewhat unreliable with 75% accuracy, can turn the tides in Mega Venusaur's favour, by rendering the foe asleep. This is crucial for matchups like Mega Charizard X and Crustle.
  • Synthesis makes matchups like Mega Charizard X more reliable by letting it recover HP if they wake up early.
Set Details
========
  • The 252 HP and 192 Defense EVs with a Bold Nature ensure that Mega Venusaur survives 2 Outrages from Adamant Haxorus. It also improves Mega Mawile and Mega Charizard X matchups.
  • 16 EVs are run to outspeed non-Jolly Donphan.
  • The rest of the EVs are invested into Special Attack investment to deal the most damage possible.
  • 208 HP / 124 SpA / 176 SpD / 16 Spe EVs with a Calm Nature can be run instead to beat Uproar Porygon-Z and Genesect.
  • Chlorophyll lets Venusaur outspeed Mega Charizard Y in Sun, giving it an opportunity to win by outspeeding it and landing Sleep Powder first. Chlorophyll doesn't activate until the turn after they mega, since the sun needs to be present while selecting moves in order for venu to go first, so there isn't rly much to do with either ability.

Usage Tips
========
  • Against Pokemon that Mega Venusaur cannot safely 2HKO first, such as Mega Charizard X and bulky Genesect, use Sleep Powder to disable the opponent and give Mega Venusaur extra opportunities to freely attack them. Be wary that some variants of these Pokemon run Substitute, bypassing Sleep Powder completely, or have significant bulk, which may require 3 Sleep turns for Mega Venusaur to KO them.
  • Use Synthesis when Mega Venusaur could be KOd if they wake up early, such as after Mega Charizard X uses Outrage or Flare Blitz.
  • Against Air Balloon Heatran, it is best to use Sleep Powder first to avoid potentially being KOed by Flash Cannon into Overheat. Then use Giga Drain to pop the balloon, and Earthquake twice to finish them off.
Team Options
========
  • Steel-type Pokemon like Registeel and Mega Metagross cover Mega Venusaur's only two weaknesses in Flying and Psychic, covering threats like Dragonite and Meloetta for Mega Venusaur. In return, Mega Venusaur can take out the Ground-, Fighting-, and Fire-type Pokemon that bother them like Donphan, Sawk, and Mega Charizard X.
  • Rock-type Pokemon like Crustle and Golem make for good partners as they beat Fire-, Flying-, and Normal-type Pokemon Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, Archeops, Meloetta, and Porygon-Z, while Mega Venusaur takes care of Ground- and Steel-types like Donphan, Golem, Mega Mawile if running Hidden Power Fire, and Heatran, if running Earthquake.
  • Mega Venusaur falls to wallbreakers like Mega Charizard Y and Normalium Z Porygon-Z, thus appreciating the support from Mega Aggron and Donphan. Sludge Bomb is Mega Venusaur's main attacking move that lets it hit foes such as Haxorus, Tapu Bulu, and Serperior. The 252 HP and 192 Defense EVs with a Bold Nature ensure that Mega Venusaur survives 2 Outrages from Adamant Haxorus. It also improves Mega Mawile and Mega Charizard X matchups. 16 EVs are run to outspeed non-Jolly Donphan. The rest of the EVs are invested into Special Attack investment to deal the most damage possible. Chlorophyll lets regular Venusaur outspeed Mega Charizard Y in Sun if Mega Charizard Y misses Blast Burn, giving it an opportunity to win by outspeeding it and landing Sleep Powder first.

Alternatively, running 208 HP / 124 SpA / 176 SpD / 16 Spe EVs with a Calm Nature can be done instead to beat Uproar Porygon-Z and Genesect, in exchange for reliability against physically offensive threats, like Haxorus.

Usage Tips
========

Against Pokemon that Mega Venusaur cannot safely 2HKO first, such as Mega Charizard X and bulky Genesect, use Sleep Powder to disable the opponent and give Mega Venusaur extra opportunities to freely attack them. Be wary that some variants of these Pokemon run Substitute, bypassing Sleep Powder completely, or have significant bulk, which may require 3 Sleep turns for Mega Venusaur to KO them. Use Synthesis when Mega Venusaur could be KOd if they wake up early, such as after Mega Charizard X uses Outrage or Flare Blitz. Against Air Balloon Heatran, it is best to use Sleep Powder first to avoid potentially being KOed by Flash Cannon into Overheat. Then use Giga Drain to pop the balloon, and Earthquake twice to finish them off.

Steel-type Pokemon like Registeel and Mega Metagross cover Mega Venusaur's only two weaknesses in Flying and Psychic, covering threats like Dragonite and Meloetta for Mega Venusaur. In return, Mega Venusaur can take out the Ground-, Fighting-, and Fire-type Pokemon that bother them like Donphan, Sawk, and Mega Charizard X. Rock-type Pokemon like Crustle and Golem make for good partners as they beat Fire-, Flying-, and Normal-type Pokemon Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, Archeops, Meloetta, and Porygon-Z, while Mega Venusaur takes care of Ground- and Steel-types like Donphan, Golem, Mega Mawile if running Hidden Power Fire, and Heatran, if running Earthquake. Mega Venusaur falls to wallbreakers like Mega Charizard Y and Normalium Z Porygon-Z, thus appreciating the support from Mega Aggron and Donphan. Synthesis is Mega Venusaur's best reliable recovery. It allows it to recover off damage safely. Rest is another option over Synthesis if the PP stall set is preferred. This gives it better matchups against less offensive threats like non-Taunt Mega Sableye and Pyukumuku, but leaves it vulnerable for 2 turns. Charm reduces the foes' Attack, improving Mega Venusaur's survivability against prime threats like Choice Band Garchomp and Mega Charizard X. Leech Seed lets Mega Venusaur deal passive damage to the opponent while healing off some of its own HP. It also has a high chance to poison its target, improving Mega Venusaur's stall matchups against Pokemon like non-Rest Mega Slowbro. Giga Drain lets Mega Venusaur pose a threat towards Pokemon like Quagsire and Rest Mega Swampert, and also recovers a slight amount of HP.

Maximum HP investment with 112 Special Defense EVs lets it survive a Hyper Beam from Porygon-Z, as well as preventing Choice Specs Genesect from getting a Download boost and helping it against Volcarona and Choice Specs Naganadel. It can also work well against set up Pokemon like non-Substitute Zygarde and Volcarona that cannot boost faster than Mega Venusaur. Against most offensive opponents use the move that will be most effective at reducing damage from their future attacks. Against Archeops and Naganadel, use Synthesis first to see what move they use. If they use Head Smash or Draco Meteor, continue using Synthesis, otherwise, use the appropriate defense boosting move. This is because these moves can 2HKO Mega Venusaur, so it is best to just stall them out. If running Rest, avoid Archeops and Naganadel. Instead use Mega Venusaur against Pokemon like non-Rest Mega Slowbro and Pyukumuku. For some foes, it is better to Leech Seed first. A Substitute and Protect set with Leech Seed and Sleep Power or Synthesis can be used to stall out opponents, however, this is largely inferior to other SubSeed stallers like Jumpluff, Whimsicott and Serperior, as Mega Venusaur's Speed is quite underwhelming I'd give something that this set beats, or remove it all together. A set with maximum HP and Special Defense investment with a Calm nature gives it the best chance against Mega Charizard Y.

Checks and Counters
===================
Most of them have access to Psyshock as well, which Mega Venusaur has no way of defending against, although it is not often run.

**Flying-type Pokemon**: Mega Venusaur's other natural weakness leaves it wide open for Mega Charizard Y, Togekiss, Celesteela, and Flyinium-Z users like Landorus-T and Dragonite that have the ability to OHKO or 2HKO Mega Venusaur, while tanking anything that Mega Venusaur can throw at them.

Mega Venusaur has a solid defensive typing with adequate bulk and Thick Fat to reduce its weaknesses to just Flying and Psychic. This also means it is the only viable Grass-type that is not weak to both Fire- or Ice-type moves, giving it better matchups against Mega Charizard X and Choice Specs Greninja at the same time, where other Grass-types like Ferrothorn and Whimsicott may struggle with. It is one of the bulkiest and less passive Leech Seed users, with powerful STAB moves and coverage moves in Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain, and Hidden Power Fire, to help it break foes like Greninja and Tapu Bulu, as well as Taunt users like Mega Mawile and other SubSeeders like Serperior and Jumpluff. It also has access to reliable recovery and stalling via Synthesis, Rest, Sleep Powder, Charm, and Amnesia. It has no viable way of boosting its offenses so it is susceptible to bulkier Pokemon like Type: Null and Mew. You're not gonna be boosting vs Mew, since it's either gonna OHKO you with Genesis Supernova or Taunt you so you can't boost in the first place. Mega Venusaur is unable to do much to common Fire-, Steel-, and Dragon-types, like Mega Charizard Y, Mega Metagross, and Dragonite, while also being weak to the plethora of Psychic-type Pokemon in the tier like Tapu Lele, Mew and Necrozma.

**Psychic-type Pokemon**: A plethora of prominent Psychic-type Pokemon plague 1v1, notably Mew, Necrozma, Tapu Lele, and Hoopa-U, are all huge threats that can blast through Mega Venusaur's defenses with their STAB super effective moves. Most of them have access to Psyshock as well, which Mega Venusaur has no way of defending against, although it is not often run.

**Flying-type Pokemon**: Mega Venusaur's other natural weakness leaves it wide open for Mega Charizard Y, Togekiss, Celesteela, and Flyinium Z (RH) users like Landorus-T and Dragonite that have the ability to OHKO or 2HKO Mega Venusaur (RC) while tanking anything that Mega Venusaur can throw at them.

**Stall-Breakers Stallbreakers**: Stall breakers Stallbreakers are able to deal with Mega Venusaur with abilities or moves that shut down its strategies. Pokemon running Taunt like Mega Sableye, Deoxys-S, Heatran, and Kommo-o (RC) prevent Mega Venusaur from stalling its foe down.

**Opposing Stall**: Offensive Mega Venusaur has a tough time breaking through bulky threats like Type: Null, Mega Slowbro, and Registeel, while the stall set has trouble keeping up, (weird word choice and i'm not rly sure what it should be instead) with less PP in Synthesis and Sludge Bomb compared to moves like Flame Charge, Scald, and Seismic Toss.

**Set-up Setup Pokemon**: Pokemon like Groundium Z Garchomp, Substitute or Belly Drum Mega Charizard X, and Nasty Plot Porygon-Z can set up and break through Mega Venusaur. Pokemon with Laser Focus like Meloetta and Aegislash can also completely ignore any of Mega Venusaur's defensive boosts (RC) while taking very little damage from the offensive set as well.

[OVERVIEW]
Mega Venusaur has a solid defensive typing with adequate bulk and Thick Fat to reduce its weaknesses to just Flying and Psychic. This also means it is the only viable Grass-type that is not weak to both Fire- or and Ice-type moves, giving it better matchups against Mega Charizard X and Choice Specs Greninja at the same time, where which other Grass-types like Ferrothorn and Whimsicott may struggle with. It is one of the bulkiest and less least passive Leech Seed users, with powerful STAB moves and coverage moves in Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain, and Hidden Power Fire, to help it break foes like Greninja and Tapu Bulu, as well as Taunt users like Mega Mawile and other SubSeed users like Serperior and Jumpluff. It also has access to reliable recovery and stalling via Synthesis, Rest, Sleep Powder, Charm, and Amnesia. (what does this allow it to do?) However, it has no viable way of boosting its offenses, (AC) so it is susceptible to bulkier Pokemon like Type: Null. Mega Venusaur also is unable to do much to common Fire-, Steel-, and Dragon-types, like Mega Charizard Y, Mega Metagross, and Dragonite, while also being weak to the plethora of Psychic-type Pokemon in the tier like Tapu Lele, Mew and Necrozma.

Moves
========
Sludge Bomb is Mega Venusaur's main attacking move that lets it hit foes such as Haxorus, Tapu Bulu, and Serperior. It also has a hefty chance to poison the foe, helping to deal some chip damage in between turns, though this shouldn't always be relied on unless the case of except against bulky opponents where foes that you have multiple chances to poison them. Giga Drain lets Mega Venusaur deal with Ground- and Rock-types like Donphan and Carracosta. Sleep Powder, albeit somewhat unreliable with 75% accuracy, can turn the tides in Mega Venusaur's favour, by rendering the foe asleep. This favor, which is crucial for matchups like Mega Charizard X and Crustle. Hidden Power Fire gives Mega Venusaur a way of hitting Steel-types that would otherwise take little damage from Mega Venusaur's its STAB moves, such as Genesect (RC) and Mega Mawile. Earthquake is an option to deal with Heatran and Magnezone, (comma) while Synthesis makes matchups like Mega Charizard X more reliable by letting it Mega Venusaur recover HP if they wake up early.

Set Details
========
The 252 HP and 192 Defense EVs with a Bold nature ensure that Mega Venusaur survives two Outrages from Adamant Haxorus. It also improves the matchups against Mega Mawile and Mega Charizard X matchups.

Alternatively, running 208 HP / 124 SpA / 176 SpD / 16 Spe EVs with a Calm nature can be done instead allows Mega Venusaur to beat Uproar Porygon-Z and Genesect, in exchange for reduced reliability against physically offensive threats (RC) like Haxorus.

Usage Tips
========

Against Pokemon that Mega Venusaur cannot safely 2HKO first, such as Mega Charizard X and bulky Genesect, use Sleep Powder to disable the opponent them and give Mega Venusaur extra opportunities to freely attack them. Be wary that some variants of these Pokemon run Substitute, bypassing Sleep Powder completely, or have significant bulk, which meaning Mega Venusaur may require three sleep turns for Mega Venusaur to KO them. Use Synthesis when Mega Venusaur could be KOd KOed if they wake a foe wakes up early, such as after Mega Charizard X uses Outrage or Flare Blitz. Against Air Balloon Heatran, it is best to use Sleep Powder first to avoid potentially being KOed by the combination of Flash Cannon intoi and Overheat. Then, (AC) use Giga Drain to pop the Balloon, and use Earthquake twice to finish them off.

Team Options

Steel-type Pokemon like Registeel and Mega Metagross cover Mega Venusaur's only two weaknesses in Flying and Psychic, covering taking on threats like Dragonite and Meloetta for Mega Venusaur. In return, Mega Venusaur can take out the Ground-, Fighting-, and Fire-type Pokemon that bother them like Donphan, Sawk, and Mega Charizard X. Rock-type Pokemon like Crustle and Golem make for good partners, (AC) as they beat Fire-, Flying-, and Normal-type Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, Archeops, Meloetta, and Porygon-Z, while Mega Venusaur takes care of Ground- and Steel-types like Donphan, Golem, Mega Mawile if running Hidden Power Fire (RC) and Heatran (RC) if running Earthquake. Mega Venusaur falls to wallbreakers like Mega Charizard Y and Normalium Z Porygon-Z, thus appreciating so it appreciates the support from Mega Aggron and Donphan. Synthesis is Mega Venusaur's best reliable recovery. It allows it to recover off damage safely. Rest is another option over Synthesis if the PP stall set is preferred. This gives it Mega Venusaur better matchups against less offensive threats like non-Taunt Mega Sableye and Pyukumuku (RC) but leaves it vulnerable for two turns. Charm reduces the foes' Attack, improving improves Mega Venusaur's survivability against prime physical threats like Choice Band Garchomp and Mega Charizard X. Leech Seed lets Mega Venusaur deal passive damage to the opponent while healing off some of its own HP. (dex info, what does it do in practice) Amnesia boosts Mega Venusaur's Special Defense, allowing it to hold its own against special attackers like Choice Specs Greninja and Genesect. Sludge Bomb prevents Mega Venusaur from being too passive, helping greatly against Taunt users like Mega Gyarados, Tapu Fini, and Torrent Greninja. It also has a high chance to poison its target, improving Mega Venusaur's stall matchups against Pokemon like non-Rest Mega Slowbro. Giga Drain lets Mega Venusaur pose a threat towards Pokemon like Quagsire and Rest Mega Swampert (RC) and also recovers a slight amount of HP.

Set Details
========
Maximum HP investment with 112 Special Defense EVs lets it Mega Venusaur survive a Hyper Beam from Porygon-Z, as well as preventing Choice Specs Genesect from getting a Download boost and helping it against Volcarona and Choice Specs Naganadel. The leftover EVs are put into Defense, and with a Bold nature, which allows Mega Venusaur to take two Outrages from Choice Band Garchomp after Charm. If running Sludge Bomb over Amnesia, an EV spread of 248 HP / 108 Def / 80 SpA / 72 SpD with a Bold nature should be used to allow Mega Venusaur to survive a Hyper Beam from Choice Scarf Porygon Z and two Ice Beams from Choice Specs Greninja, while being able to and 2HKO them in return with Sludge Bomb. Chlorophyll is not particularly useful, besides potentially cheesing Mega Charizard Y if they misplay or miss.

Usage Tips
========
Mega Venusaur is best used against hyper offensive Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Sawk, Zeraora, and Choice Band Garchomp. It can also work well against set up setup Pokemon like non-Substitute Zygarde and Volcarona that cannot boost faster than Mega Venusaur. Against most offensive opponents Pokemon, use the move that will be most effective at reducing damage from their future attacks; (SC) use Charm against physical attackers like Choice Band Haxorus and Garchomp, (comma) and use Amnesia against special foes like Volcarona and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. Use Synthesis when Mega Venusaur's HP is lower than 50%. Use Leech Seed as soon as possible to recover more HP while whittling their health down. Against Archeops and Naganadel, use Synthesis first to see what move they use. If they use Head Smash or Draco Meteor, continue using Synthesis, as these moves' ability to 2HKO Mega Venusaur means it's best to just stall them out; (SC) otherwise, use the appropriate defensive boosting move. This is because these moves can 2HKO Mega Venusaur, so it is best to just stall them out. If running Rest, avoid Archeops and Naganadel. Instead, (AC) use Mega Venusaur against Pokemon like non-Rest Mega Slowbro and Pyukumuku. For some foes, it is better to Leech Seed first. This is mostly for slower Taunt users unaffected by Sludge Bomb like Mega Mawile and Mega Aggron, it is better to use Leech Seed first. SubSeed users like Serperior and Jumpluff are useless against Mega Venusaur, so be sure to send it in on them.

Team Options
========
Kommo-o and Mega Gyarados have trouble with Pokemon that cannot outstall Mega Venusaur like Magearna and Mega Altaria (RC) while taking and can take care of Mega Venusaur's threats like Zygarde and Meloetta. Mega Venusaur appreciates the assistance from Pokemon that can handle Taunt users like Kommo-o and Mew.
