Is there a reason you keep making snide comments about my Forretress submission that you cruelly scrapped.

It isn't just you, there was a guy who submitted Flash Fire Ferrothorn too.

And stop defending this Forretress, it's bad. It's just bad. Get over it and move on.
 
We could give Forretress Magic Guard. That would definitely help it out as Burns couldn't wear it down, but since it's already immune to poison I'm not sure if it'd help much.

Natural cure could also be great. Use Rest and just switch out, that way we don't have to give him one of Vespiquen's signature moves.

Forretress is hard.

Magic Guard Forretres makes even less sense than Flash Fire Forretres. Iron Barbs and Heal Order may be cool things to consider. Especially Iron Barbs since it's mega evolution could look like a normal Forretres with a bunch of spike stuff on it.

I suggested Magic Guard since Forretress also has Overcoat, as does Reuniclus, who also has Magic Guard.

And let's not turn it into Ferrothorn if we can avoid it.
 
I think Heatproof can be considered; a healthy alternative to Flash Fire for sure. Heatproof on Forretress can prove useful for taking on some physical attackers with Fire-type coverage. With enough investments to special defense, it can avoid 2HKO's from stray Fire Blasts or Flamethrowers. As always, reliable recovery would be nice but I'm interested on how adding Metal Burst would work in tandem with the ability. It'll be great in catching people off guard and netting suprise KO's.

Mega Ferro already has Heatproof. We could maybe go with Filter?

Since Primeape and Empoleon both have Defiant and Empoleon also has Torrent it makes sense for Primeape to have Torrent. According to your logic this should be true lol. Also this may seem weird but maybe turn Forretres into a special attacking tank with something like Analytic. It already has stuff like Flash Cannon and Giga Drain for coverage so maybe. Not too good of an idea but eh could try it.

Ok you do not have permission to dismiss Magic Guard Forretress and then suggest a specially offensive Analytic Forretress

And I'm not saying Magic Guard is best but you're dismissing it awfully quickly

Don't get me wrong I like the idea of Magic Guard Forretres since it would probably make it OU viable again but the reason with Reuniclus and Overcoat isn't really a good reason. Still it would make sense since Magic Guard is a more defensive inclined ability and Forretres is all about defending. And Analytic special Forretres was one of my weird idea lol.

Oh, darn it. Filter, you say? It's a quite a big step back from Heatproof. It wouldn't stand up enough to aforementioned Pokemon that would've been handled by Heatproof Forretress. This can still be pushed but admittedly with Mega Ferrothorn around, this thing is arguably outclassed if not for Rapid Spin. Capitalize on its niche I guess, and we could give it more things to play with. That or just scrap the ability entirely.

I really want flash fire Forretress, but i like not being banned. I'd give it powder, it needs a way to defend from flamethrower not called protect.

Shuckle, really all there is to add is 25 defenses and 50 speed. It would ruin any chances of it using gyro ball ever again, so it's gonna need a good ability to make up for what it'll lose.

I think we should look into more utility based abilities rather than just focus on reducing supereffective damage.

The only mon we allowed to have Flash Fire was Durant. And then I'd insist that we then give Mega Heatmor Mold Breaker
