I was probably just going to give it Oblivious or Regenerator to be honest. And then max out its defenses and then even out the rest (because Power Split trolling is still a must)

Wait...are you sure you don't want to make it's ability Huge Power? It's high risk high reward material right there.

+6 252+ Atk Huge Power Peef Rimgar's Shuckle-Mega Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Ledyba: 420864-495136 (3507200 - 4126133.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Honestly Sturdy is kind of useless on Shuckle, its not like many things can OHKO it anyways. It would like something more along the lines of Regenerator or Dry Skin; both of them fit with its mold theme, and reliable recovery is the one thing Shuckle lacks; with Dry Skin, some buffed defenses and offenses, and Acupressure, it can actually pull off a decent set-up sweeper role...

Rain Dance
Acupressure
Rollout
Earthquake

I think I'm just gonna say screw it and go with a built in Power Trick for Mega Shuckle, but it swaps BOTH offenses for BOTH defenses. Give it 50 in both offenses, so after getting flipped, it has 230 offenses and 20 / 60 / 60 defenses. Slow, frail, monstrous attacker. Broken, or unusable? You decide.

You want to submit a Regenerator version and I'll submit an Oblivious one? I believe those two abilities would probably help Shuckle do its stalling the best.

But if you reverse the defenses with the attack stats (which every serious submission should do tbh) sturdy helps you live hits!

Shuckle is a worm, and some worms are scavengers. if huge power for health is not an option (and being 141/230/230 is insane) then why not an ability called scavenger, which steals 1/8 of enemy health while shuck is in play. Chansey is a 1/3 restoration if it stays in. Mix with infestation for passive aggressive play. Sounds really good, but it could have an Achilles heel of failing against ghosts which don't have potential carcass and making anything with liquid ooze force you out. When Muk steal nearly a quarter of your health every turn...

Okay so the target isn't dead... Call it parasite or something? Either way, bring a Tentacruel with ooze.

Regardless, shuckle could abuse the Defend and heal order decently.

Thematically, this ability could work on mega dark birds as well... But that's for another time.

nononononnoonononono don't give shuckle reliable recovery. That's all that's keeping him out of OU

I think we're trying to get him into OU right now.
Well, we're just giving Pokemon Megas and giving them the tools to use the Mega. I don't think we want to give Shuckle reliable recovery because that's also reliable recovery for regular Shuckle.

Shuckle currently has three problems: no healing, taunt-bait, and set-up-bait. Megas for Shuckle should try to fix some of that.

Shuckle isn't set up bait if you play it right. It'll just encore your set up sweeper and proceed to spray his goo everywhere on your side of the field

NOTE: I COULD NOT BE BOTHERED TO FIND THE SETS. THEY'LL BE ADDED TO THE DOC IF YOU WANT TO SEE THEM

THIS ALSO BEGINS THE SUBMISSION PERIOD FOR THE CURRENT SLATE OF GRANBULL, FORRETRESS, SHUCKLE, AND CORSOLA

corsola.gif

Mega Corsola
Typing: Water / Rock -----> Water / Steel
Abilities: Hustle / Natural Cure -----> Regenerator
BST: 55/55/85/65/85/35 -----> 55/55/130/90/130/20
New Moves: Flash Cannon

Corsola becomes resistant to the pollution that threatened the livelihood of its standard form; previously, its horns served as a shelter for marine life. Now, they function as an iron castle, protecting smaller Pokemon from attackers. Water/Steel>Water/Rock defensively in basically every way. In exchanged for increased defenses, Corsola also becomes slower because it becomes heavier (not that it was on its way to outspeeding much, anyways). Regenerator is a great ability, especially for a Pokemon who resists SR and doesn't boost, and thus doesn't mind switching. Flash Cannon is a special Steel STAB so it doesn't become total taunt-bait. Corsola has Recover and Refresh, in addition to its great defense, tying, and Regenerator, so it will be decievingly difficult to take down otherwise.

Mega Shuckle
Typing: Bug / Rock -----> Bug / Rock
Abilities: Synchronize / Inner Focus -----> Dry Skin
BST: 20/10/230/10/230/5 -----> 20/40/250/40/250/5
New Moves: Rain Dance

Stat changes don't really matter on this one, insanely defensive only becomes slightly more insane and pitifully weak only becomes slightly less pitiful. The main draw here is in the new ability. Dry Skin rids Shuckle of a weakness in exchange for amplifying another; the other thing it gives Shuckle is semi-reliable passive recovery. With Dry Skin and Rain Dance, Shuckle becomes a monster tank on a rain team, with the additional ability to reset the weather when necessary. With that ability, Shuckle becomes a super-reliable secondary rain-setter thanks to its amazing defenses (as long as someone else can get rid of Taunt users). In addition to resetting rain, it can also pull of an Acupressure set slightly better thanks to buffed defenses, extra base Attack, and more reliable recovery outside of Rest. Shuckle has always been an annoying Pokemon to face, and now it is just a bit more so.

Not sure how I feel about Corsola but that Shuckle mmmmmmmmm gurl

My Mega Granbull submission for now. (Might edit it later)
Spr_5b_210.png

Mega Granbull
Typing: Fairy --> Fairy/Fighting
Abilities: Intimidate/Quick Feet/Rattled --> Sheer Force
New Moves: Drain Punch
Stats: 90/120/75/60/60/45 BST: 450 --> 90/165(+45)/115(+40)/60/85(+25)/35(-10) BST: 550

Mega Granbull is the definition of TANK. Sheer Force-boosted attacks coming off from a base 165 attack stat is nothing to trifle with. Compounded by the fact that it possesses reasonable bulk and an auspicious typing, taking it down isn't as easy as you think. Despite its poor speed, it compensates for his potent wallbreaking power and bulk. Access to Fire Fang, Earthquake and Crunch are great coverage options making it all the more harder to wall. In addition, it also gained Drain Punch which is great as a pseudo-recovery move; just a reliable fighting STAB overall with complimentary benefits to Mega Granbull's role. Speaking of roles, Mega Granbull also functions well in TR using its naturally low speed to its advantage. What's more is that it has great synergy to common Trick Room setters. Besides that, a BU set seems promising and works great with Drain Punch at its disposal.
