Politoed @ Choice Specs
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Focus Blast

The obvious rain set up and the team captain/lead is politoed. I chose to avoid the overused smogon sets and wanted to create a moveset that allows poli to hit hard. This set surprises almost everyone I've battled, the specs and the rain boost makes scald and hydro dangerous to even those who resist water. Ice beam for the flying and dragon types. Although I almost never use ice beam because of lack of def invested in poli, ice beam is a good coverage move. Focus blast is mainly for those ferrothorn who think they have an advantage over poli. 70 percent accuracy is risky but it pays off most of the time.

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Leech Seed
- Thunder Wave
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock

Ferrothorn is so clutch, breaks down dragons and physical attackers while regaining hp through leech seed. I decided to invest in spdef because 130 base def is monstrous. The damage from rocky helmet and iron barbs is about -40. So a trapped dragon using outrage will most likely die after taking SR, Iron Barb, Rocky Helmet, and leech seed damage. Thunder Wave is for crippling those speedy phys attackers. And finally gyro ball is for making them pay for being so damn fast.

Latios (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Surf
- Roost

I've been experimenting with latios alot, I've used the scarf set before this one but I didn't have much success with it since they'll most likely switch to whoever resist the obvious super effective attack coming (which is the point of battling) and trick wasn't appealing because I never liked giving up speed and it defeats the purpose of the set. SO I broke up the CM + Sub set into something I liked. I use calm mind on the obvious switches or oncoming resisted attacks and then proceed to destroy. Dragon pulse is the main move in this set, stabbing everything that doesnt resist. Surf is a staple for a rain team latios and is effective, and roost to heal all the wounds.

459.png

Toxicroak (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Ice Punch

Toxicroak is a beast and the teams second option on offense. I was experimenting with this set and fell in love. After a switch into a resisted attack and swords dance, toxicroak is a beast. With the correct predictions it's pretty much gg. Drain punch is to heal while dealing massive damage. Sucker punch to take out those who are faster, and Ice punch is not really used I may take it out for substitute but it served some purpose in a match recently so I don't know.

Xatu @ Light Clay
Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Roost
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- U-turn

Xatu is the teams spdef and def in ... one. Getting him into the game without leading and taking to much damage is tricky since I have to predict an entry hazard or a resisted special attack. But once he's in I'm guaranteed one screen which is okay. Most of the time I get two up, it depends on the opponents battle style and if I'm feeling risky. Roost is for damage recovery and Uturn is to escape to one of the teams big threats after setting up those delicious screens. Xatu is mainly used for magic bounce since I have no spinner which is a lovely ability.

Jolteon @ Choice Specs
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Signal Beam

Jolteon is another beast. With 130 base speed and 110 special attack choice specs was the way to go. Jolteon serves as the late game sweeper/revenge killer on the team since he's exceptionally strong and fast. Volt switch to finish damaged poke off as well as switch out. Thunder is used to ... destroy everything pretty much, even things that resist electric attacks are 2HKO'd to thunder. Hidden Power Ice is for all the Dragons and Flying types who may cause trouble. Signal beam is for psychic types and provides excellent coverage.

Import/Export: Please try the team out.

Please tell me where I can improve my team :I. Feel free to contact me I'm know as "Robb" on PS <--- Can't stress this anymore, ya so talk to me I'm a cool person.

Hi there. So this team is a very standard Rain team, which by no means is a bad thing, but you're using a Xatu, which is all fine and dandy. However, the first weakness I see to the team is Tyranitar. It traps Xatu and Latios, and prevents Toxicroak from functioning as good as it could, while it can also trap Poli who's locked into Ice Beam, which does pitful damage even with Specs.

I feel my best suggesting for your team is to replace Xatu with Dugtrio. Dugtrio allows you to easily win the weather war, and eliminate Tyranitar and Ninetales much easier.

Dugtrio @ Focus Sash
Trait: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Reversal
- Memento

My next suggestion is changing that Latios set. I'm not sure if it's been working well for you, but Latias outclasses it as a CM sweeper. However, this team seems for offensive, so you have two options here. Either A) Replace Latios with CM Latias or B) Use a different Latios set. I suggest trying both out, and see what best suits your style. Using Latias also helps you loads with Breloom and Lucario, both of which you say are threats to your team.

You'll notice that Dugtrio uses Stealth Rocks, so if you do take my advice and use it, obviously chance SR on Ferrothorn to Spikes.

Other than that, I really like this team. Luvdisc'd

Hi there.
It is a very interesting and very solid team, I can't really rate your team because it seems correct to me, but I see a very big weakness against Terrakion you have nothing for tank his Close combat, Jolteon is OHKO, Ferrothorn is OHKO also, Xatu can take a Stone edge, Politoed is 2HKO by Close Combat, Latios can take a Stone edge Toxicroak can take an Earthquake and he's 2HKO also by Close Combat (252 ATK Choice Band Terrakion Close Combat vs. HP 0 / 0 Def Toxicroak: 207-244 (67.42 - 79.47%) - guaranteed 2HKO), then your team is weak against Scizor also you do have nothing for tank properly his Uturn because Ferrothorn is 3HKO by Uturn of Scizor Bander then it can take a SuperPower, Scizor is 3HKO by Uturn then the opponent can anticipate and use Bullet Punch, Politoed is 3HKO by Uturn also, and Xatu is 2HKO, Jolteon also, I suggest you Landorus-T on Xatu, Landorus-T is a very good pokemon for your team, it can come on Terrakion easily with his ability (Intimidate) but also on Scizor, then now you can come easily on Jirachi.

Now u can swap Stealth Rock with Spikes on Ferrothorn, because Landorus has Stealth Rock and because you can make the combination stealth rock + spikes to accentuate the sweep of your pokemons.

Landorus-T (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 200 HP / 64 Atk / 244 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock

Tl;dr
Xatu--->Landorus-T
Ferrothorn--->Spikes

Hope I Helped and Good Luck with your Team.

I like Xatu, now it seems like a weak point :(.

@leftiez I'll try the Landorus-T over Xatu and see how that goes, and lol I don't know why I chose SR over spikes.

@SS I'll also try the dugtrio to trap weather inducers

Hello!

Ok so I see a lot of problems with this team. Firstly, DubDance Landorus-T seems like a huge threat, especially since +2 / +2 rapes everything. SubDisable Gengar is also a huge threat, disabling Specs Toeds means of fighting it while threatening everything behind a Sub (SB is a 2HKO on Jolteon, while it gets FB / SB to hit everything else). You can't switch into Mamoswine either, as its brute power can clean you. Growth Venusaur also tramples this team on sun.

Ok so my first problems with this team root down to Dual Screener Xatu. It does nothing. Your not weak to hazards you Magic Bounce support is of little to no use to you, while Screens are not mandatory. I would opt to replace Xatu for anything to help you against this huge threat list. I'm thinking Scarf Keldeo would be perfect, as its a much needed revenge killer, while it also helps vs. Gar and DubDance LandyT.

I would replace Jolteon for DubDance ThundyT with Thunderbolt to help sweep opposing rain teams, and sun teams. Run 40 Hp / 96 Def / 252 SpA / 16 SDef / 104 Spe with a Modest nature for maximum bulk. Joteon isn't doing much and that ThundyT wall breaks so much better even w/o specs.

I would replace EB Latios with LO Latias and your finished! Good Luck!
