Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Pokémon: Mantine Stats: 95 / 55 / 95 / 80 / 100 / 50 (BST: 475) Abilities: Water Absorb / Immunity / Water Veil Typing: Water / Fairy Move Changes: +Moonblast, +Flip Turn, -Roost Summary of Changes: Stat rework (+10 HP, +10 Atk, +20 Def, -35 SpD, -20 Spe), movepool additions, new typing, and new abilities. Description: Folds to Sylveon but it's probably THE defensive water either way, as it's fully capable to deal with a good part of the meta like Sableye (mon's getting worse damn), Arcanine, Grapploct, and Sandslash, while it also brings utility in Defog, Flip Turn and Haze in a pinch, making it overall a solid sub IMO and also a solid defensive glue that fits very well on all kinds of structures acting like if the metagame was varied af lol. Also no Roost since it's typing, utility and abilities are already great per se, so we don't really need it to overcentralize.
Pokémon: Persian-Alola Stats: 95/85/80/75/65/115 (505 BST) Abilities: Fur Coat / Technician / Rattled Typing: Dark / Ice Move Changes: + Ice Shard, Triple Axel Summary of Changes: Typing, Stats, Moves Description: Comedic mon. Despite the shitty defensive typing Fur Coat can still live enough hits to switch in and click either Foul Play or Parting Shot. Technician is an absolute bastard though, with Triple Axel + Ice Shard to simply murder your foes. Idk I just think its funny
Move Changes: Body Press, Gyro Ball, Heavy Slam, Iron Defense, Metal Burst, Spikes
Summary of Changes: +10 HP, +10 Def, +10 SpA, +10 SpD -10 Speed, Heatproof over Sheer Force, +Steel, Movepool changes
Description:
Pokemon: Stunfisk Typing: Ground/Electric Abilities: Static / Regenerator (H: Sand Veil) Stats: 109/75/115/85/80/66 (BST: 540) Movepool Changes: Hydro Pump Description: Stunfisk becomes a Regen mon that can threaten to OHKO or 2-hit KO with Hydro Pump or Scald/Earth Power respectively. Arcanine can only hope EQ 2-hit KOs which is only a 71.1% chance. Stunfisk also has Foul Play, Sucker Punch (these 2 for Ghosts), Discharge or Tbolt, EP, Scald, Sludge Bomb/Wave, Pump, Pain Split, Rocks, Twave, Toxic, & Yawn.
I made a promise that I would contribute to other mods. now I pledge to fulfill it, and I start with this mod.
Pokémon: Houndoom Stats: 80/105/60/110/80/100 [535 BST] Abilities: Flash Fire / Intimidate | Unnerve Typing: same as it has always been, Fire/Dark Move Changes: - Nasty Plot Summary of Changes:
Stats: +5 HP, +15 Atk, +10 Def, +5 Spe
Abilities: -Early Bird, +Intimidate
Moves: see respective section Description: Fast mixed attacker option that can punish switch-outs with Pursuit. Works quite well, but physical bulk is rather poor and plenty of stuff can outspeed it.
Might try and work in a Duraludon or Stunfisk sub later
Pokémon: Duraludon Stats: 75 / 95 / 115 / 110 / 100 / 45 (535) Abilities: Heavy Metal / Clear Body / Electric Surge Typing: Steel / Electric Move Changes:
+ Doom Desire, Volt Switch, Earth Power, Meteor Beam, Toxic
- all Dragon-type moves Summary of Changes: -10 SpA, +50 SpD, -40 Spe Description: slow offensive pivot. similar to magnezone on offensive teams when the opponent doesnt have a steel type.
Pokémon: Stunfisk Stats: 109 / 66 / 99 / 90 / 84 / 32 (480) Abilities: Static / Poison Heal / Sand Stream Typing: Ground / Electric Move Changes:
+ Volt Switch, Whirlwind Summary of Changes: +15 Def, +9 SpA, -15 SpD Description: with stunfisk/sylveon its a bit tough for stunfisk to fit in. enter pheal, making it an effective check to perrserker, sableye, sylveon, and salazzle. sand stream is also there ig.
Pokémon: Houndoom Stats: 115 / 90 / 100 / 70 / 80 / 75 (530) Abilities: Flash Fire / Tough Claws Typing: Dark / Fire Move Changes: + Darkest Lariat, Knock Off, Flare Blitz, Fire Lash, U-Turn, Bulk Up Summary of Changes: +40 HP, +50 Def, -40 SpA, -20 Spe Description: offensive switchin to perrserker.
Pokémon: Duraludon Stats: 90 / 75 / 75 / 120 / 110 / 85 | 555 Abilities: Mirror Armor | Lightning Rod | Full Metal Body Typing: Steel / Normal Move Changes: + Hyper Voice, Surf, Volt Switch, Focus Blast | -Breaking Swipe, Dragon Claw, Draco Meteor, Dragon Tail Summary of Changes: stat change, type change, movepool changes Description: special mon that's immune to either stat drops or Electric moves. Arcanine and Sandslash can't safely switch into this either due to Surf.
Pokémon: Stunfisk Stats: 109 / 66 / 80 / 95 / 130 / 32 | 506 Abilities: Static / Wimp Out Typing: Ground / Electric Move Changes:
+ Parabolic Charge, Recover Summary of Changes: stat changes, Description: very thick special wall. still suffers from toxic and hazards but Emergency Exit is a fun way to pivot. Parabolic Charge gives a bit of recovery if you can't fit in Recover.
Pokémon: Duraludon Stats: 80/80/105/120/110/25 Abilities: Magic Bounce/Analytic Typing: Steel/Psychic Move Changes: +Psychic, Psyshock, Stored Power, Calm Mind, Future Sight, Teleport, Trick Room, Autotomize, Earth Power. -Breaking Swipe, Dragon Tail, Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse, Outrage, Draco Meteor Summary of Changes: Tanked its speed in exchange for a massive SpD buff, and some other stat shifting. New Type, Abilities and Moves Description: Bronzong, Xatu, and Reuniclus all merged into one super mon.
Pokémon: Stunfisk Stats: 103/66/99/81/90/32 Abilities: Static/Dry Skin/Volt Absorb Typing: Ground/Electric Move Changes: +Nuzzle, Recover, Thunder Cage, Volt Switch Summary of Changes: Stat Buff, along with new abilities and moves Description: Hey are you kind of pissed off about Mantine or Grapploct? Trap them with Thunder Cage. Make them suffer. That's the main idea, but it's a fairly solid wall that can also work as a trapper or defensive pivot.
[1] Pokémon: Houndoom Stats: 75/110/80/90/50/95 Abilities: Hellfire/Defiant/Intimidate [2] Typing: Dark/Fire Move Changes: +Bone Rush, Fire Lash, Submission, Play Rough, Moonlight, Parting Shot, Knock Off Summary of Changes: Stats were swapped to have a physical bias, new abilities and moves Description: Fits on more offensive archetypes worried about getting rolled over by ghosts like Perrserker or Tsareena. Also here's some dumbass ability because I didn't want a filler
when using a damaging fire type move, the user has a 10% chance to inflict a random status (Burn, Poison, or Paralysis) After which it has a 33.333333333% chance to inflict one of said statuses.
(Think of it like tri-attack)
"Its gut is full of toxins, which are used to create unique fire mixed with poison. This gives Houndoom's fire a foul odor and the wounds it inflicts will never heal."
1) custom made sprite by me
2) I'm aware of unnerve being different, but it was purposely changed to intimidate to deal with physical attackers (Perrserker) better
Summary of Changes: Light Metal → Mold Breaker, -10 Atk, -35 Spe, +45 SpD, Dragon-type → Fighting-type, + Volt Switch, + Focus Blast, + Aura Sphere, + Taunt, - Draco Meteor Description: Role compression option, it has options to be a breaker or can go for defensive sets with Body Press while and its STABs and Volt Switch / utility
Move Changes: +Flare Blitz, Bulk Up, Power Trip Summary of Changes: a lot of stuff Description: Cool mon who is able to switch into scarf arcanine (locked in flare blitz), perrserker, tsareena, alola persian, etc. Suffers into other arcanine matchups, facing mantine and grapp is also not good for it. Can run BU + Power Trip if needed also.
Move Changes: +Volt Tackle, Liquidation, Wish Summary of Changes: a lot of stuff Description: Arcanine "switch-in". Earthquake does quite a lot but this dude shines against the unnervers which is kinda cool. Defiant still neat to this day.
Pokemon: Duraludon Stats: 70 / 75 / 90 / 110 / 85 / 55 (BST: 485) Typing: Steel/Flying Abilities: Metalize / Intimidate / Stalwart Metalize causes all Normal-type moves used by the Pokémon to become Steel-type and receive a 20% power boost.
Stalwart is now an Aroma Veil Clone. Move Changes: +Defog, +U-turn, +Airstrike (Flying-Type Future Sight), +Air Slash, +Toxic, +Hyper Voice, +Hurricane, +Gust, -Dragon moves (barring Dragon Tail)
Clear Smog Flying clone.
Summary of Changes: Stats rework (-20 Atk, -25 Def, -10 SpA, +35 SpD, -30 Spe), typing change and new abilities. Description: Think of it as a Corviknight that can hit really hard, pull off Future Sight, and with three great abilities (Pressure is good don't get me wrong but the abilities this mon's got are better) but that's got 0 recovery in exchange, making it a quite solid wall able to check Slowbro-Galar, Tsareena and can even abuse Mantine and Sableye. Airstrike also gives it a unique offensive niche and removes passivity.
Pokemon: Houndoom Stats: 75 / 100 / 80 / 100 / 50 / 85 (BST: 490) Typing: Dark / Fire Abilities: Flame Body / Neuroforce / Early Bird
Early Bird now halves damage taken by Ghost-type moves by x0.5 Move Changes: +Flip Turn, +Hydro Pump, +Gunk Shot, +Knock Off Summary of changes: +10 Atk, +30 Def, -10 SpA, -30 SpD, -10 Spe Explanation: Honestly, this seems more like an anti-meta pick that abuses top-tier mons (take a quick look at S ranks and you'll get what I'm saying) while also not being completely crazy into shit since stuff like Grapploct and Bastiodon seem to wall it while it's got some 4MSS (it wants Knock Off, Fire STAB, Sucker Punch, Hydro Pump, Flip Turn, and Gunk Shot all in one), however, it may have some impact as it's got more coverage now and some of its typical counterplay can die to its coverage.
Edit: Houndoom already learns Sucker Punch it seems lol.
