~Mexico Vs. Spain~

~Mexico Vs. Spain~

Preamble
The main reason for this team to be revamped, was thanks to the confrontation between the 7 best of Mexico & Spain.

The team I used as a base for this team was a paraflinch team. this one doesnt rely that much on flinching, but more on paralisis and counter attacking. By now it has been functioning pretty good, but it still needs some screws to be ajusted =)

jirachi-1.png

Jirachi! @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace

EVs: 80 HP/252 Atk/176 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Thunderpunch
  • Here thankz to the reccomendation d2m gave me. It helps me a lot with the gyarados that want to ruin my fun, and also gives him a better coverage.
- Iron Head
  • With the Choice Scarf it is too much fun to put it aside. as a lead it helps with some fast and fragile leads which try to setup rocks. they are hit, flinched and killed. It is still useful even after i have tricked my scarf.
- Trick
  • Trick is the' attack i've been using instead of paralisis, and it is awesome. i normally wait till the late game to use it and catch off guard some walls which dislike it.
- Stealth Rock
  • amm, i dont think this moves needs much description.
| Thunder | Body Slam |
I want to give Jirachi either Thunder or Body slam so it can also help the team providing paralisis. Which slot could be replaced?

Jirachi as a lead is pretty awesome, the Choice Scarf gives him a very special "boost". this poke works wonders throughout all the game, and is one of the last pokes that goes down. The only thing i've been thinking for him is if i should give him a paralisis attack.

scizor-1.png

Scizor! @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
  • As i mentioned before, for scouting. and i love to use it paired with jirachi's U-turn
- Superpower
  • A very strong move that CB scizor should have. It dents many pokes. it isn't used like all the other moves, but when it is used it gets its job done
- Bullet Punch
  • The magic move on Scizor hehe. With Technician + STAB + CB+Priority it is a beast =)
- Quick Attack| Roost | Pursuit
  • Here is were i have a dilema. i began using Quick Attack because common switch ins for scizor are Electrics and Waters. Quick Attack has finished off for me some Zapdos & Electivires. it is also nicely paired with Lucario's Vaccum wave. having 3 different and powerful priority moves is pretty useful. EVEN THOUGH, there are many times when Scizor could & needs to use roost, even if it has to flee next turn.
Scizor is sort of my revenge killer, and at the same time, with paralisis support he is the one who puts in some big hits.

zapdos-1.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP/228 Def/32 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Heat Wave
  • This new toy provided by platinum is very useful, and lets zapdos use Hp grass instead of ice with no regrets.
- Thunderbolt
  • STAB & power.
- Roost
  • Reliable recovery move =D
- Hidden Power [Grass]
  • I love Hp Grass on Zapdos, it is just marvelous. it makes Zapdos a good opponent to virtually anything he faces. Also, this is the only grass attack i have in the team.
Zapdos is so great, it is now one of my favorite Pokémon. It really doesn't need much words to describe it, it just works wonders.

Machampgif.png

Machamp! (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dynamicpunch
  • Confusion + paralisis = yes please. Even though, without paralisis Dyanmicpunch is a great move.
- Stone Edge
  • I realized just a week ago how useful was to use this move with the No Guard ability. It helps with Gyarados, fliers etc. The only pest is Gliscor.
- Sleep Talk
  • The perfect complement for Rest + Moves with little PP. It does not only lets me hit while sleeping, but it does not waste the low pp of Stone Edge & DinPunch.
- Rest
  • Restores Machamp Health, Status, and sometimes i use it when im running out of PP hehe.
No guard makes this poke a real Champ =). I had never used the Sleep Talk Machamp, and it tottally convinced me.
He is more of a stable Physical sweeper, rather than Scizor who does not stay in long.

Togekiss-1.png

Togekiss! (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/104 Def/152 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Air Slash
  • "The Move which makes togekiss uber"
- Roost
  • Recovery to continue with the paraflinching muahaha.
- Thunder Wave
  • The paralisis part of "paraflinch" - Also helps me with many sweepers
- Nasty Plot
  • I was thinking of Aura Sphere or flamethrower here, but Nasty plot is just too good to give it away. This move has won me a couple of games :D! paraflinch boosted = Uber xD.
Togekiss paired up with Zapdos is what basically let this team win. Even though this team goal is to massively spread paralisis, my only paralizer here is togekiss. And sometimes it has some hard time getting the job done, but mostly it does great.

Lucario.png

Lucario! (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Inner Focus[
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Aura Sphere
  • Swampert is 2HKO with it, thats more than enough for me xD.
- Shadow Ball
  • Aura Sphere + Shadow Ball hit everything Neutrally. And Shadow Ball catches off guard many switch ins thinking it is SD luke.
- Vacuum Wave
  • My Special Priority which also gets STAB. It has saved me a couple of times.
- Hidden Power [Ice]
  • I havent used it much because i normally prefer to use Aura Sphere, but it can catch many pokes off guard. If paralisis was spread as it should, this move could be used more often.
Lucario Specser stole a place in my heart a month ago when i was testing new toys. I loved him so much that i needed to use him someway. i first used him here as a filler, but it actually was very useful.

Overall
The Only hinder this team has is the lack of Special Support it has. Heatran, Magnezone, and Rotom have been a problem sometime. Mostly i can work it out combining Zapdos & Togekiss, but it is quite difficult.
For that i thought that Blissey could help much, since it covered that hinder, and with Hp Ground, Flamethrower & Thunder Wave it would be a really good add on to the team.

blissey.png

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Naturoal Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 80 SpA / 176 SpD
Calm nature (+SpD, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Softboiled
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power Ground
The Only problem is that i'm having a difficult time taking something out for her.

Well, Thank you beforehand.
and please PIMP my team =D!

***I'm using now Blissey over Lucario and it has been working out great

Pretty solid team, but I would recommend putting Thunderpunch over U-turn on Jirachi, as you really need a switch in to Gyarados ( he can come in on Luke, Scizor, or that Jirachi for an easy DD, outspeeds and OHKOs Zappy [and Togekiss] with Stone Edge). U-turn for Jirachi is somewhat outdated it seems, it doesn't do near as much damage as Scizor and his ability to use all the elemental punches seems to be fleshing out.

Also, why oh why does the mexican team not have Ludicolo? <_<

U have a point, actually, Gyarados was only handled by Machamp and Togekiss (paralizing it before it could do anything)
I'll give Thunderpunch to Jirachi :D.

PD: I promise the next team i make to represent mexico will have a ludicolo

Your team looks pretty good, but i would tottaly prefer Blissey over Lucario.
Blissey is the answer to your bigger threats, and with HP ground as u suggested, covers other electrics aside from Magnezone.

Lucario is a good pokemon, and i know is fun to use. BUT, it only brings hinderances to the team, while Blissey gives u more support & sinergy. good luck.
