LC Leader
[OVERVIEW]

Mienfoo is one of LC's defining presences and the tier's most versatile Fighting-type, capable of serving as a reliable defensive pivot or a devastating offensive threat. Regenerator lets it take hits, force Pokemon out, and generate momentum with U-turn. Its other great ability, Reckless, boosts High Jump Kick's power to extreme levels and makes it one of the best wallbreakers in the tier. It provides great utility through moves like Knock Off, U-turn, and Fake Out, which can wear down defensive cores, generate momentum, and revenge kill sweepers. Mienfoo's Fighting typing is indispensable in Little Cup, as almost every team requires a reliable switch-in to Onix and Pawniard and a way to break through Ferroseed. While Mienfoo has many great qualities, it can be exploited. Mienfoo's prevalence means that almost every team will carry a dedicated check for Fighting-types like Koffing, Foongus, or Mareanie. High Jump Kick is somewhat unreliable, leading to Mienfoo often taking major recoil damage, and Protect on unexpected foes can spell its demise. Mienfoo's propensity for taking chip damage and switching into Knock Off can lead to it being trapped by Diglett, and Mienfoo is generally not that bulky after having its Eviolite removed. Its lack of reliable priority can be exploited by fast threats like Abra and Galarian Ponyta.

Moves
========

High Jump Kick is an extremely powerful STAB move, even without Attack investment, although its misses can be costly and it can be punished with Protect. Knock Off lets Mienfoo make progress against its switch-ins like Mareanie, Foongus, and Koffing. U-turn works in excellent tandem with Regenerator, allowing Mienfoo to pivot away while healing itself. Fake Out wears down faster offensive threats such as Speed-boosted Nasty Plot Vullaby and Choice Scarf users, and it can stall out turns of sun, dual screens, and Grassy Terrain. Beware that some fast threats, especially Abra, run Protect to avoid Fake Out. Taunt is a niche option that helps against Foongus, especially when you do not have your own Foongus or Ferroseed to absorb Spore, and prevents Foongus and Mareanie from recovering HP, letting Mienfoo break through them sometimes. Taunt can also prevent slower sweepers like Nasty Plot Vullaby from setting up.

Set Details
========

Pivot Mienfoo's versatility is defined by its ability to run multiple EV spreads to fit different roles. The given EV spread balances Mienfoo's ability to threaten much of the tier with its Speed while also providing ample physical bulk. Hitting 17 Speed Speed ties with Onix, Natu, and opposing Mienfoo and lets it always outspeed Pawniard and non-Choice Scarf Vullaby. The given EV investment also hits 14 Defense and provides Mienfoo with enough bulk to comfortably switch into Pawniard, Onix, and other Fighting-types. An alternate spread of 76 HP / 196 Def / 196 SpD with an Impish nature gives Mienfoo impressive bulk at the expense of Speed, letting it always survive Download Porygon's Psychic and almost always survive non-Life Orb Abra's Psychic from full HP. This spread also lets Mienfoo defeat Weak Armor Vullaby with Fake Out. You can forgo defensive investment almost entirely and run a spread of 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe to surprise opponents with its offensive presence, almost always OHKOing standard Vullaby after Stealth Rock. Eviolite provides Mienfoo the bulk to survive most attacks from full health. Regenerator keeps Mienfoo healthy and enables it to continually pivot into threats.

Usage Tips
========

Mienfoo is one of the most consistent lead options in the tier thanks to Fake Out, Knock Off, and U-turn. This set is a great sponge for chip damage thanks to its bulk and ability to heal when switching out. Mienfoo should use its bulk and resistances to come in on Pokemon like Ferroseed, Pawniard, and Onix and make progress with Knock Off and U-turn. U-turn should be used aggressively, and Mienfoo generally should be preserved often, as multiple switches can restore its HP. Mienfoo can often force Fighting-resistant foes to switch in and pivot into frail offensive threats like Diglett and Abra to exploit them. While its chip damage and priority can be valuable, Fake Out should be used strategically, as it can also allow free switches from Weak Armor Vullaby and checks to Mienfoo.

Team Options
========

Mienfoo pairs excellently with Diglett, as it can weaken foes with Knock Off and get Diglett free switches with U-turn; in return, Diglett can trap and KO Mareanie and Abra. Mienfoo supports Vullaby well by switching into Pawniard and Onix and forcing them out or KOing them, and the two can pivot between each other with U-turn and create offensive pressure. Vullaby can also deter Abra from using Psychic. Pawniard supports Mienfoo by switching into dangerous special attackers like Abra and Galarian Ponyta as well as Vullaby's Brave Bird, but it can easily be worn down in this role. Ferroseed is an even more reliable answer to Abra, and Mienfoo's U-turn gets it free turns against Foongus.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: High Jump Kick
move 2: U-turn
move 3: Knock Off
move 4: Close Combat / Brick Break
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Reckless
nature: Jolly
evs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Reckless High Jump Kick does major damage to a majority of the tier. U-turn takes advantage of High Jump Kick forcing switches and lets Mienfoo pivot. Knock Off lets Mienfoo punish Fighting-resistant foes and especially Ghost-types like Frillish. The last move slot goes to a 100% accurate STAB move; Close Combat is generally the best option thanks to its power, while Brick Break provides an emergency check to dual screens offense.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed investment with a Jolly nature ensure that Choice Scarf Mienfoo hits as hard as possible while outspeeding most of the tier, including common Choice Scarf users like Porygon and Vullaby. Choice Scarf allows Mienfoo to force out or KO potent threats like Abra, Galarian Ponyta, and Staryu.

Usage Tips
========

Choice Scarf Mienfoo wants to use High Jump Kick as frequently as possible and will impose immense pressure every time it does; thus, generating free switches through tools like Vullaby's U-turn should be your priority. Mienfoo can strategically use Knock Off early-game to soften Fighting-resistant switch-ins, as High Jump Kick severely threatens most of them without Eviolite. This set relies on the gradual chipping down of these Fighting-resistant foes to serve as a wincon late-game.

Team Options
========

Timburr supports this set well, as it can function as a defensive Fighting-type and overwhelm Fighting-resistant foes, especially Foongus and Koffing, with Knock Off and Ice Punch. Knock Off support from other users like Vullaby, Pawniard, and Mareanie is also invaluable for whittling down bulky foes that might otherwise survive High Jump Kick. Ferroseed switches well into Fighting-resistant foes that force out Mienfoo and can set Spikes to facillitate a sweep. Diglett can capitalize on U-turn to trap and KO Mareanie and Focus Sash Abra.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Choice Band is an option over Choice Scarf to make Mienfoo absurdly powerful and unexpectedly OHKO opposing Vullaby and Mienfoo, although the set's relative slowness and frailty necessitate more cautious use and team support. Mienfoo can run a Swords Dance set with Berry Juice and Acrobatics on Sticky Web offense teams to serve as a powerful sweeper, but Scraggy generally outclasses it. Acrobatics is an option on non-Berry Juice sets to hit Foongus, but it will typically be useless unless Mienfoo takes Knock Off. Feint is an option to help beat Focus Sash Abra but lacks Fake Out's benefit of free damage against other foes. Swords Dance is an option on pivot sets to boost and OHKO Vullaby that attempt to switch in. Regenerator can be run on Choice Scarf sets to give Mienfoo added durability against priority moves, but the major decrease in power makes this inadvisable.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Koffing**: Koffing's hefty physical bulk and Poison typing allow it to reliably pivot into Mienfoo and threaten it out with a burn or its powerful Sludge Bomb. Koffing's Neutralizing Gas also can harm Mienfoo's staying power by preventing recovery from Regenerator. However, Koffing lacks reliable recovery and is vulnerable to entry hazards, meaning it can only switch into Mienfoo a few times.

**Mareanie**: Thanks to its resistance to Fighting and Regenerator, Mareanie is the one of the sturdiest Mienfoo checks in the tier. Mareanie must be wary of switching into U-turn, though, as Mienfoo may pivot to Diglett or a powerful special attacker. Mareanie also takes significant damage from Choice Band High Jump Kick without its Eviolite.

**Foongus**: Foongus resists High Jump Kick, can stay healthy with Regenerator and reliable recovery, and punish Mienfoo with Spore. Foongus struggles mightily when Mienfoo is paired with Ferroseed, as Ferroseed fears none of Foongus's options and U-turn prevents Foongus from double switching to punish Ferroseed. Foongus without its Eviolite also cannot reliably switch into Reckless Mienfoo, as it is 2HKOed by High Jump Kick after Stealth Rock.

**Spritzee**: Spritzee fears Mienfoo little and cannot reliably be trapped by Diglett, and it threatens back with Moonblast. Spritzee can take advantage of Mienfoo to pass Wish and heal teammates like Ferroseed. Protect prevents Mienfoo from powering through with High Jump Kick. However, Spritzee often struggles to make progress against Mienfoo thanks to Mienfoo pivoting with U-turn to bulky Pokemon like Mareanie and Ferroseed.

**Fast Special Attackers**: Mienfoo without Choice Scarf can be threatened by speedy threats like Abra and Galarian Ponyta. Abra often runs Protect to preserve its Focus Sash against Fake Out and can punish Mienfoo with Psychic. However, Mienfoo can survive non-Life Orb Abra's Psychic with maximum Special Defense investment and Eviolite.

Ah, you're finally awake

OVERVIEW
Mienfoo's Fake Out is a priority move with great utility for chipping fast threats like boosted Nasty Plot Vullaby.
I'd rather see a different example here cos you don't exactly want to be giving Vullaby +2 Spe.

I'd like to see it said in the overview that its set can be tailored to fit on virtually any team.

It is important to scout for Protect users, especially Ferroseed, as a blocked High Jump Kick can unceremoniously end Mienfoo's rampage. Choice Band Mienfoo should wary of being trapped by Diglett after a KO as it is quite frail.
idk probably add that you need to be more cautious clicking HJK as you don't get the regen recovery so it's much more detrimental.

Substitute is another option to take advantage of forced switches while blocking Knock Off and status moves like Ferroseed's Thunder Wave.
Substitute also allows Mienfoo to consume its Berry Juice sooner meaning it can fire off high powered acrobatics.

Checks and Counters
You could put faster threats at the end of this. You mention in the overview that its lack of priority means it's exploited by faster threats such as Abra. All sets get bopped by Wingulls Hurricane too and offensive Foos can't switch into Weak Armor boosted or Choice Scarf Vullaby.

Great stuff as always. There's a couple of grammar issues like "thunderpunch" instead of "Thunder Punch" but checking GP stuff in QC checks triggers me but be careful of those before you send this to GP.

[OVERVIEW]

Mienfoo is one of LC's most defining presences, capable of serving as either a reliable defensive pivot or a devastating offensive threat. Mienfoo's ability Regenerator lets it take hits, force Pokemon out, and generate momentum with U-turn while being little worse for wear. Its other great ability, Reckless, boosts High Jump Kick's power to extreme levels and makes Mienfoo one of the best wallbreakers in the tier. Mienfoo is the tier's most reliable Fighting-type and can threaten bulky presences like Pawniard, Porygon, Ferroseed, and Onix. (Combine this sentence with the first sentence) It can also demand switch-ins from Fighting-resists like Mareanie, Foongus, and Spritzee and then remove these Pokemon's items with Knock Off or, in Mareanie's case, pivot into Diglett. Mienfoo's Fake Out is a priority move with great utility for chipping fast threats like boosted Nasty Plot Vullaby. (Combine the past two sentences into one discussing its general utility with Knock, U-turn, and Fake Out) While Mienfoo has many great qualities, it can be exploited. High Jump Kick is often unreliable, leading to Mienfoo taking major recoil damage, and Protect on a surprising foe can spell Mienfoo's demise. Mienfoo's propensity for taking chip damage and switching into Knock Off can lead to it being trapped by Diglett, and Mienfoo is generally not that bulky after having its Eviolite removed. Its lack of reliable priority can also be exploited by faster threats like Abra. Nonetheless, Mienfoo is an extremely versatile Pokemon that can be tailored to fit on any team.

Moves

High Jump Kick is an extremely powerful STAB, even without Attack investment, though its misses can be costly and it can be punished with Protect. Knock Off lets Mienfoo make progress against the opposing team by removing items from the Pokemon it forces in, including Mareanie, Foongus, and Spritzee. U-turn works in excellent tandem with Regenerator, allowing Mienfoo to pivot off of forced switches while healing itself. Fake Out is useful priority that can wear down fast but weakened offensive threats such as Speed-boosted Nasty Plot Vullaby or Choice Scarf users. Beware that some fast threats, especially Focus Sash Abra, run Protect to avoid Fake Out. Feint is an option to beat Focus Sash Abra but lacks Fake Out's benefit of free damage against other foes. (OO; its generally too niche) Taunt is an option, especially with more Speed investment, to block hazard setters and prevent Foongus from using Spore or Synthesis.

Set Details
========

Maximum Defense and Special Defense investment, with the remainder of EVs invested in HP and an Impish, make Mienfoo difficult to KO. The given investments allow Mienfoo, with its Eviolite in tact, to avoid a OHKO from Focus Sash Abra Psychic and Vullaby Brave Bird almost always. (Maybe add a general sentence about its flexibility and ability to run multiple different spreads to help its team) An alternative spread with maximum HP investment instead of Special Defense lets Mienfoo take some physical hits better, including giving it a decent chance to survive High Jump Kick from Choice Band Mienfoo, but it sacrifices significant special bulk. An EV spread with maximum Speed and Defense investment, along with a Jolly nature, can be useful on slow teams and especially to outspeed Pawniard, but similarly sacrifices special bulk. A Relaxed nature and 19 Speed IVs allow Mienfoo to hit 10 Speed and get off a slow U-turn against Mareanie, facilitating a Diglett trap. You can forgo defensive investment entirely and run a spread with maximum Attack and Speed investment, which defeats opposing slower Mienfoo head-to-head, but this sacrifices Mienfoo's best aspect in its durability. Eviolite is the preferred item because of its importance to improves Mienfoo's bulk and lets it survive Mienfoo surviving certain attacks. Regenerator is the ability of choice, as it keeps Mienfoo healthy and rewards it for pivoting.

Usage Tips
========

This set is a great sponge for chip damage thanks to its bulk and ability to heal when switching out, and as such is a good switch-in to Fake Out users like opposing Mienfoo and Meowth. U-turn should be used aggressively and Mienfoo in general should be preserved often, as multiple pivots can bring its health back from low to full. U-turn should also be used to punish Fighting-resists by bringing in frail offensive threats like Diglett and Abra. (Combine the past two sentences into one detailing its ability to heal off pivots while bringing in wallbreakers/trappers) Fake Out should be used strategically, as while its chip damage and priority can be invaluable, it can also allow free switch-ins (some specific scenarios? like clicking Fake Out against WA Vullaby). Mienfoo should use its bulk and resistances to come in on Pokemon like Ferroseed, Pawniard, and Onix and make progress with Knock Off and U-turn. (Move this up as the second sentence) Slow Mienfoo is one of the most reliable switch-ins to Ferroseed as it does not terribly mind Thunder Wave and can recover damage from Giga Drain, but must be wary of Protect blocking its High Jump Kick. Mienfoo can also switch into and punish slow, defensive Porygon sets, provided it does not switch in on Psychic.

Team Options
========

Mienfoo pairs excellently with Diglett, as Mienfoo can weaken foes with Knock Off and get Diglett free switch-ins with U-turn and Diglett can trap and KO Mareanie (Would also add Abra in here) for Mienfoo. Mienfoo supports Vullaby well by switching into Pawniard and Onix well and forcing them out or KOing them, and the two can pivot into each other with U-turn and create offensive pressure. (Mention how Vull helps it against Abra) Mareanie is a great team for its ability to counter Spritzee and set Toxic Spikes to punish it for switching in, and the two can form a durable defensive core with Regenerator. Foongus can support Mienfoo as a Mareanie switch-in and Regenerator partner as well, and Mienfoo in turn handles Ferroseed and Pawniard. Add a sentence about hazard removal since you dont want to get worn down as pivot, even with Regen

Moves
========

High Jump Kick is Mienfoo's STAB of choice and, boosted by Reckless, does major damage to the majority of the tier. U-turn lets Mienfoo pivot on the switches it forces, especially against Mareanie, taking advantage of the extreme threat from High Jump Kick. Knock Off lets Mienfoo punish Fighting-resists (like?) and especially Ghost-types like Frillish that attempt to switch into High Jump Kick. Drain Punch is a weaker STAB option that gives Mienfoo some added durability with its healing. Close Combat is powerful secondary STAB option with perfect accuracy that can be useful in situations where landing a move is more important than High Jump Kick's added power, though on Choice Band sets the Defense drop makes Mienfoo more vulnerable to a Diglett trap.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed investment with a Jolly nature ensure that Mienfoo hits as hard as possible while outrunning Vullaby and Pawniard, including Scarf Vullaby with a Choice Scarf. A Choice Band allows Mienfoo to hit almost any team extremely hard, as Choice Band High Jump Kick can OHKO common foes like Vullaby and bulky Mienfoo and 2HKO Fighting-resists like Mareanie and Foongus after their items have been removed. Choice Scarf lets Mienfoo function as a cleaner, sacrificing power for the ability to outrun Diglett and the unboosted tier. Reckless is the preferred ability, as it makes High Jump Kick extremely powerful.

Usage Tips
========

This set Choice item Mienfoo wants to use High Jump Kick as frequently as possible and will impose immense pressure every time it does. (There are two different sets) Choice Band Mienfoo can lure and OHKO Vullaby as a lead, but you must be careful as team composition at preview can often reveal whether your Mienfoo has a choice item. The Choice Band set is also invaluable for its ability to revenge-kill Nasty Plot Vullaby before a Speed boost. Mienfoo can strategically use Knock Off early in games to soften Fighitng Fighting-resists switching in, and with Choice Scarf can use U-turn to punish Mareanie switching in. Choice Scarf sets will rely on the gradual chipping of these Fighting-resists so that can serve as a wincon in the end game. For Choice Band Mienfoo, once these checks are weakened, it is advantageous to use High Jump Kick every time it comes in, as Mienfoo can 2HKO most of these checks without their Eviolites. It is important to scout for Protect users, especially Ferroseed, as a blocked High Jump Kick can unceremoniously end Mienfoo's rampage. In general, missed High Jump Kicks and other damage to Mienfoo are very costly as Reckless Mienfoo does not recover any health. Choice Band Mienfoo should wary of being trapped by Diglett after a KO as it is quite frail.
- The paragraph is kinda confusing rn; I think it would be better if you talk about Choice band first, then discuss Choice Scarf.
Team Options
========

Timburr supports this set well, as it can function as a defensive Fighting-type while pressuring Fighting-resists, especially Mareanie with Thunder Punch. Timburr, Vullaby, and Pawniard can also ease Mienfoo's breaking by using Knock Off to remove Eviolite from bulky Fighting-resists like Spritzee and Mareanie. Dewpider can set Sticky Web to help Choice Band Mienfoo outspeed the entire unboosted tier. Mareanie and Ferroseed switch well into Fighting-resists (like?) that force Mienfoo out.
- Mention hazard removal since you get worn down easily w/o Regen
- Mention answers against Abra and Wingull

Moves
========

Swords Dance allows Mienfoo to boost its Attack on forced switches (like?) and serve as a devastating sweeper. High Jump Kick is Mienfoo's preferred attack, dealing immense damage even to Fighting-resists after a Swords Dance. Acrobatics provides excellent coverage alongside High Jump Kick, hitting Foongus super-effectively and hitting neutral targets like Mareanie, Spritzee, and Koffing hard after Berry Juice has been used. Substitute lets Mienfoo to take advantage of forced switches while blocking Knock Off and status moves like Ferroseed's Thunder Wave, and it also can be used to activate Berry Juice and power up Acrobatics.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed investment with a Jolly nature let Mienfoo hit as hard as possible while outspeeding opposing Vullaby. Berry Juice helps Mienfoo's longevity, providing additional setup opportunities and working well in tandem with Acrobatics. Reckless is the ability of choice, as it boosts High Jump Kick's damage to extreme levels and eases sweeps.

Usage Tips
========

Due to this set's lack of bulk and priority, it functions best as a sweeper on Sticky Web offense. Mienfoo should be brought in with pivots or after KOs against targets that cannot afford to stay in against it such as Pawniard or Ferroseed. Substitute and Swords Dance are Mienfoo's best moves on forced switches, and Substitute especially can scout out Pawniard or Ferroseed staying in and attempting to use Knock Off or Thunder Wave. Mienfoo should usually not try to set up with Swords Dance until after Fighting-resists like Mareanie and Spritzee have had their items removed or weakened significantly, as Acrobatics does not do enough damage to break through these Pokemon at full health.

Team Options
========

Dewpider is a mandatory teammate because of its role as the best Sticky Web setter in the tier. Mienfoo appreciates teammates that can offensively pressure Spritzee and Mareanie such as offensive Mudbray Magnemite, Adamant Pawniard, and Life Orb Abra. (I think Magnemite over Mudbray would be better) Due to this set's lack of bulk, vulnerability to Knock Off, and Pawniard's Defiant boost against Sticky Web, its teams will appreciate members that switch well into Pawniard and Ferroseed such as Timburr. (Timburr on a Webs team feels weird and its not like Pawn can threaten Mienfoo that much; maybe mention more offensive teammates like Pony)
- Mention teammates that can take advantage of Mienfoo busting up Pawn, Vull, Ferro, and Onix

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Acrobatics is an option on non-Berry Juice sets to hit Foongus, but will typically be useless unless Mienfoo takes a Knock Off. Regenerator can be run on Choice Scarf sets to give Mienfoo added durability against priority moves, but the major decrease in power makes this inadvisable. Stone Edge can be run on offensive sets to hit Vullaby, Ponyta, and Fighting-resists harder, but the damage increase is marginal. Feint is an option to hit 1 HP Focus Sash Abra and other Protect users, but is extremely weak. Mienfoo can run a Bulk Up set with Drain Punch to function as a bulky sweeper, but struggles to break through Fighting-resists and is outclassed in this role by Timburr.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Mareanie**: Thanks to its Fighting-resistance and Regenerator, Mareanie is the one of the most reliable checks to Mienfoo in the tier. Mareanie must be wary of having it Eviolite removed by Knock Off when switching in or Mienfoo pivoting off of it into Diglett. Mareanie also takes significant damage from Choice Band High Jump Kick without its Eviolite.

**Spirtzee Spritzee**: Spritzee's resistance almost all of Mienfoo's common moves, its relatively lack of fear of Diglett, and its super-effective Moonblast make it an effective Mienfoo answer. (Might be too flowery for GP; try to just say that Dig can't trap it) Spritzee can take advantage of Mienfoo to pass Wish and heal teammates like Ferroseed. Spritzee takes significant damage from Choice Band High Jump Kick without its Eviolite, but can avoid a 2HKO with Protect. Spritzee can often struggle to make progress against Mienfoo, though, thanks to Mienfoo pivoting with U-turn into bulky Pokemon like Mareanie and Ferroseed that wall it. (This sentence might be misleading in a way; getting your bulky walls weakend by Covet is not ideal)

**Other Fighting-resists**: Foongus is a reliable Mienfoo check owing to its Fighting-resistance and Regenerator allowing it to take multiple hits. Foongus can force out Mienfoo and put an opponent to sleep with Spore. However, Foongus can often struggle to make progress when Mienfoo pivots with U-turn into teammates like Ferroseed and Overcoat Vullaby, and struggles even further when an opponent is already asleep. Koffing resists both High Jump Kick and U-turn and can outspeed and burn slow Mienfoo sets with Will-o-Wisp. Neutralizing Gas Koffing has the additional advantage of preventing Mienfoo from recovering with Regenerator when switching out, harming its longevity. Koffing is limited, though, by its lack of reliable recovery. (IMO you should just call this section "Other Poison-types" or just combine with Mareanie since both Mare and Foon are Fighting-resists with Regen and all Poison-types resist Mienfoo's STAB moves)

**Faster special attackers**: Mienfoo without a Choice Scarf can be threatened by speedy threats like Wingull and Abra. Abra often runs Protect to preserve its Focus Sash from Fake Out and can punish Mienfoo with Psychic. Bulky Mienfoo can, however, survive non-Life Orb Abra's Psychic from full health with its Eviolite in tact. I feel like you should separate this into two different sections. One on Psychic-types (Abra, Galarian Ponyta, Woobat) and one on Flying-types (Wingull, Vullaby)

**Protect**: Mienfoo's effectiveness can be inhibited by use of Protect, especially on surprising users. Protect prevents Mienfoo from revenge-killing Focus Sash Abra with Fake Out or breaking Air Balloon Diglett's item at low health. It can also be used to great effect on Ferroseed, baiting Mienfoo into using High Jump Kick and harming itself.

Fake Out is useful priority that can wear down fast but weakened offensive threats such as Speed-boosted Nasty Plot Vullaby or Choice Scarf users fake out also allows it to beat weak armor vullaby at lead. Beware that some fast threats, especially Focus Sash Abra, run Protect to avoid Fake Out.

Set Details
========

An alternative spread with maximum HP investment instead of Special Defense probably worth specifying the spread so it can be easily imported, also "maximum hp investment" could be confusing for ppl unfamiliar with lc evs lets Mienfoo take some physical hits better, including giving it a decent chance to survive High Jump Kick from Choice Band Mienfoo, but it sacrifices significant special bulk one of the biggest advantages of this spread is doing better vs other foo at lead. you reliably live fake out into knock into hjk, while the spdef spread has a 50% roll to die to hjk. also might be worth noting 24 hp gives an extra regen point. An EV spread with maximum Speed and Defense investment, along with a Jolly nature, can be useful on slow teams and especially to outspeed Pawniard, but similarly sacrifices special bulk again, specifying spreads is better imo. A Relaxed nature and 19 Speed IVs allow Mienfoo to hit 10 Speed and get off a slow U-turn against Mareanie, facilitating a Diglett trap. You can forgo defensive investment almost entirely technically not entirely bc 36 defense evs. specify spread? :D and run a spread with maximum Attack and Speed investment, which defeats opposing slower Mienfoo head-to-head, but this sacrifices Mienfoo's best aspect in its durability. Eviolite provides Mienfoo the bulk to survive most attacks from full health. Regenerator keeps Mienfoo healthy and able to continually pivot into threats.

Usage Tips
========

This set is a great sponge for chip damage thanks to its bulk and ability to heal when switching out, and as such is a good switch-in to Fake Out users like opposing Mienfoo and Meowth delete this wtf ksg. Mienfoo should use its bulk and resistances to come in on Pokemon like Ferroseed, Pawniard, and Onix and make progress with Knock Off and U-turn. U-turn should be used aggressively and Mienfoo in general should be preserved often, as multiple pivots can bring its health back from low to full, and Mienfoo can often force Fighting-resists to switch in and U-turn out into frail offensive threats like Diglett and Abra. Fake Out should be used strategically, as while its chip damage and priority can be invaluable, it can also allow free switch-ins from Weak armor Vullaby and Regenerator users like other Mienfoo. Slow Mienfoo is one of the most reliable switch-ins to Ferroseed as it does not terribly mind Thunder Wave and can recover damage from Giga Drain, but must be wary of Protect blocking its High Jump Kick. switching foo into ferroseed was already said earlier, and imo slowfoo isnt significantly better enough at switching into ferroseed than other sets to warrant this sentence Mienfoo can also switch into and punish slow, defensive Porygon sets, provided it does not switch in on Psychic. foo lives psychic

mention that foo is a very reliable lead

Team Options
========

Mienfoo pairs excellently with Diglett, as Mienfoo can weaken foes with Knock Off and get Diglett free switch-ins with U-turn, and Diglett can trap and KO Mareanie and Abra for Mienfoo. Mienfoo supports Vullaby well by switching into Pawniard and Onix well and forcing them out or KOing them, and the two can pivot into each other with U-turn and create offensive pressure. Vullaby can also force Abra to think twice about using Psychic. Pawniard supports Mienfoo by switching into dangerous special attacks from the likes of Abra and wingull as well as Vullaby's Brave Bird, but it can easily be worn down in this role. Mareanie is a great team for its ability to counter Spritzee and set Toxic Spikes to punish it for switching in, and the two can form a durable defensive core with Regenerator. Foongus can support Mienfoo as a Mareanie switch-in and Regenerator partner as well, and Mienfoo in turn handles Ferroseed and Pawniard. Mienfoo appreciates hazard removal from the likes of Vullaby, Staryu, and Wingull, as Toxic Spikes and Spikes can limit its ability to pivot.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

High Jump Kick is Mienfoo's STAB of choice and, boosted by Reckless, does major damage to the majority of the tier. U-turn lets Mienfoo pivot on the switches it forces, especially against Mareanie why especially mareanie? to trap with dig i guess?, taking advantage of the extreme threat from High Jump Kick. Knock Off lets Mienfoo punish Fighting-resists and especially Ghost-types like Frillish that attempt to switch into High Jump Kick. Drain Punch is a weaker STAB option that gives Mienfoo some added durability with its healing. Close Combat is powerful secondary STAB option with perfect accuracy that can be useful in situations where landing a move is more important than High Jump Kick's added power, though on Choice Band sets the Defense drop makes Mienfoo more vulnerable to a Diglett trap. maybe mention stone edge as an option for bandfoo to ohko dewpider

Set Details
========

Choice Scarf lets Mienfoo function as a cleaner, sacrificing power for the ability to outrun Diglett wingull and abra too and the unboosted tier so its generally preferred on teams that would otherwise be lacking in speed. Reckless is the preferred ability, as it makes High Jump Kick extremely powerful.

Usage Tips
========

Choice item Mienfoo wants to use High Jump Kick as frequently as possible and will impose immense pressure every time it does so try to get foo safely in on pokemon like pawniard and onix, like by uturning with vullaby. Choice Band Mienfoo can lure and OHKO Vullaby as a lead, but you must be careful as team composition at preview can often reveal whether your Mienfoo has a choice item. The Choice Band set is also invaluable for its ability to revenge-kill Nasty Plot Vullaby before a Speed boost. im not convinced this is worth mentioning considering evio vull has a good chance to live Mienfoo can strategically use Knock Off early in games to soften Fighting-resists switching in, as Choice Band Mienfoo can 2HKO most of these checks without their Eviolites. Choice Band Mienfoo should wary of being trapped by Diglett after a KO as it is quite frail. Choice Scarf Mienfoo can use U-turn to punish Mareanie switching in again you need to elaborate on this, uturn itself does barely anything to mareanie. The Choice Scarf set will rely on the gradual chipping of these Fighting-resists so that can serve as a wincon in the end game. It is important to scout for Protect users, especially Ferroseed, as a blocked High Jump Kick can unceremoniously end Mienfoo's rampage. idk if this sentence about protect is necessary. foo can just hjk the following turn usually, and losing 50% hp isnt the end of the world for scarf foo. you can keep it if you want tho, but change ferroseed to onix, because onix fits protect a lot more easily In general, missed High Jump Kicks and other damage to Mienfoo are very costly as Reckless Mienfoo does not recover any health.

scarf foo can be used to revenge kill fast threats like abra and diglett

Team Options
========

Mareanie and Ferroseed switch well into Fighting-resists that force Mienfoo out, especially Wingull for Choice Band sets ferroseed fits this description so much better than mareanie that mareanie might not even be worth including in this sentence. Ferroseed can also set Spikes to facillitate a Choice Scarf Mienfoo sweep and mareanie can set tspikes to wear down spritzee. Diglett capitalizes on U-turns to trap and KO Mareanie, while also trapping fast threats like Abra, Ponyta, and Staryu for Choice Band Mienfoo.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Swords Dance allows Mienfoo to boost its Attack on forced switches from foes like Ferroseed and Pawniard not strictly on forced switches and serve as a devastating sweeper. Substitute lets Mienfoo to take advantage of forced switches while blocking Knock Off and status moves like Ferroseed's Thunder Wave and foongus spore, and it also can be used to activate Berry Juice and power up Acrobatics.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed investment with a Jolly nature let Mienfoo hit as hard as possible while outspeeding opposing Vullaby. new spread gives sufficient damage output and 116 def lets it sub up on opposing mienfoo's knock off Berry Juice helps Mienfoo's longevity, providing additional setup opportunities and working well in tandem with Acrobatics i don't like the use of the word longevity here, feel like thats usually used to describe mons that are expected switch into stuff and stay alive throughout the game. the main thing is maximizing setup opportunities. though i suppose you could say it makes foo harder to pick off with priority. Reckless is the ability of choice, as it boosts High Jump Kick's damage to extreme levels and eases sweeps.

Usage Tips
========

Due to this set's lack of bulk and priority, it functions best as a sweeper on Sticky Web offense this is usage tips not team options, so rephrase to say try to get up webs first (if on webs). Mienfoo should be brought in with pivots or after KOs against targets that cannot afford to stay in against it such as Pawniard or Ferroseed. Substitute and Swords Dance are Mienfoo's best moves on forced switches, and Substitute especially can scout out Pawniard or Ferroseed u usually just wanna sd on pawn, knock breaks sub staying in and attempting to use Knock Off or Thunder Wave. Mienfoo should usually not try to set up with Swords Dance until after Fighting-resists like Mareanie and Spritzee have had their items removed or weakened significantly, as Acrobatics does not do enough damage to break through these Pokemon at full health. foo breaks mareanie, just not spritzee. make this specific to weakening spritzee and trying to remove wingull / abra / whatever else stops a sweep

Team Options
========

Dewpider is a mandatory teammate because of its role as the best Sticky Web setter in the tier. instead say: most teams using this foo set should have dewpider bc sticky web prevents fast pokemon like diglett, pony, abra from stopping mienfoo's sweep Mienfoo appreciates teammates that can offensively pressure Spritzee and Mareanie such as offensive Mudbray, Adamant Pawniard, and Life Orb Abra just spritzee, so only give mudbray and pawn as examples. dont need to specify 'offensive' mudbray. pokemon that can help overwhelm spritzee are also good e.g. np vull Due to this set's lack of bulk, vulnerability to Knock Off, and Pawniard's Defiant boost against Sticky Web, its teams will appreciate members that switch well into Pawniard and Ferroseed such as Timburr. i dont like this sentence, mienfoo certainly isnt vulnerable to knock off, and i dont think timburr is usually a good teammate for this set. i know what you're getting at, this foo set doesnt usually wanna be switching into ferro or pawn, but web teams usually deal with that by just offensively pressuring pawn as much as possible. i guess you can just change this to say something more general, like "its costly to switch this set into attacks, even from the likes of pawniard and ferroseed, so try to fit more counterplay to these pokemon elsewhere on the team"

mention mareanie setting tspikes to weaken spritzee

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Acrobatics is an option on non-Berry Juice sets to hit Foongus, but will typically be useless unless Mienfoo takes a Knock Off. Feint is an option to help beat Focus Sash Abra but lacks Fake Out's benefit of free damage against other foes. Taunt is an option, especially with more Speed investment, to block hazard setters and prevent Foongus from using Spore or Synthesis. Mienfoo can run a Bulk Up set with Drain Punch to function as a bulky sweeper, but struggles to break through Fighting-resists and is outclassed in this role by Timburr. imo those arent good enough to mention (and you said feint twice)
sd is an option on the pivot set for stuff like breaking mareanie and surprising vullabys trying to switch in
reflect seems interesting, up to you if you wanna add it, i dont mind either way

Checks and Counters
===================

**Spirtzee**: Spritzee fears Mienfoo little and cannot reliably be trapped by Diglett, and it threatens back with Moonblast. Spritzee can take advantage of Mienfoo to pass Wish and heal teammates like Ferroseed. Spritzee takes significant damage from Choice Band High Jump Kick without its Eviolite, but can avoid a 2HKO with Protect. Spritzee can often struggle to make progress against Mienfoo, thanks to Mienfoo pivoting with U-turn into bulky Pokemon like Mareanie and Ferroseed that wall it, though you must be wary of Spritzee removing items with Covet.

**Other Fighting-resists**: Foongus is a reliable Mienfoo check owing to its Fighting-resistance and Regenerator allowing it to take multiple hits. Foongus can force out Mienfoo and put an opponent to sleep with Spore. However, Foongus can often struggle to make progress when Mienfoo pivots with U-turn into teammates like Ferroseed and Overcoat Vullaby, and struggles even further when an opponent is already asleep if something is asleep foon is prolly doing a good job already. Koffing is limited, though, by its lack of reliable recovery.

i dont like how this is structured, would it make sense to split all 4 mons into their own sections? they're all relevant enough

**Fast special attackers**: Mienfoo without a Choice Scarf can be threatened by speedy threats like Wingull, Abra, and Galarian Ponyta. Abra often runs Protect to preserve its Focus Sash from Fake Out and can punish Mienfoo with Psychic. Bulky Mienfoo can, however, survive non-Life Orb Abra's Psychic from full health with its Eviolite in tact.

**Protect**: Mienfoo's effectiveness can be inhibited by use of Protect, especially on surprising users. Protect prevents Mienfoo from revenge-killing Focus Sash Abra with Fake Out or breaking Air Balloon Diglett's item at low health. It can also be used to great effect on Ferroseed, baiting Mienfoo into using High Jump Kick and harming itself. i think protect has been mentioned enough already and its not rly prevalent or impactful enough to list it as a full-on counter

[OVERVIEW]

Mienfoo is one of LC's most defining presences and the tier's most versatile Fighting-type, capable of serving as either a reliable defensive pivot or a devastating offensive threat as the tier's most versatile Fighting-type. Mienfoo's ability Regenerator lets it take hits, force Pokemon out, and generate momentum with U-turn. Its other great ability, Reckless, boosts High Jump Kick's power to extreme levels and makes Mienfoo one of the best wallbreakers in the tier. It proves great utility through moves like Knock Off, U-turn, and Fake Out, which can wear down defensive cores, generate momentum, and revenge-(RH)kill sweepers respectively. Mienfoo's Fighting-type is indispensable in Little Cup, as almost every team requires a reliable switch-in to Onix and Pawniard and a way to break Ferroseed. While Mienfoo has many great qualities, it can be exploited. Mienfoo's ubiquity prevalence means that almost every team will carry a dedicated check for Fighting-types like Koffing, Foongus, or and Mareanie that can take its hits and punish retaliate. High Jump Kick is often unreliable, leading to Mienfoo taking major recoil damage, and Protect on a surprising foe can spell Mienfoo's its demise. Mienfoo's propensity for taking chip damage and switching into Knock Off can lead to it being trapped by Diglett, and Mienfoo is generally not that bulky after having its Eviolite removed. Its lack of reliable priority can also be exploited by fast threats like Abra and Galarian Ponyta. Nonetheless, Mienfoo is an extremely versatile Pokemon that can be tailored to fit on any team.

Moves
========

High Jump Kick is an extremely powerful STAB move, even without Attack investment, although its misses can be costly and it can be punished with Protect. Knock Off lets Mienfoo make progress against the opposing team by removing items from the Pokemon it forces in its switch-ins, including like Mareanie, Foongus, and Spritzee. U-turn works in excellent tandem with Regenerator, allowing Mienfoo to pivot off of away from forced switches while healing itself. Fake Out is useful priority that can wears down fast but weakened offensive threats that are faster such as Speed-boosted Nasty Plot Vullaby or and Choice Scarf users, and it can also eat up stall out turns of opposing sun, dual screens, or and Grassy Terrain. Beware that some fast threats, especially Abra, run Protect to avoid Fake Out. Taunt is a niche option that helps against Foongus,(AC) especially when you do not have your own Foongus or Ferroseed to absorb Spore, and preventing prevents Foongus and Mareanie from recovering HP,(AC) sometimes lets letting Mienfoo break through them sometimes. Taunt can also prevent slower sweepers like Nasty Plot Vullaby from setting up.

Set Details
========

Pivot Mienfoo's versatility is defined by its ability to run multiple EV spreads to fit different roles. The given EV spread balances Mienfoo's ability to threaten much of the tier with its Speed while also providing ample physical bulk. Hitting 17 Speed grants Mienfoo crucial ties helps Mienfoo Speedtie with Onix, Natu, and opposing Mienfoo,(RC) and the means to lets it always outspeed Pawniard and non-Choice Scarf Vullaby. The given EV investment also hits 14 Defense and provides Mienfoo with enough bulk to comfortable comfortably switch into Pawniard, Onix, and other Fighting-types. An alternate spread of 76 HP / 196 Def / 196 SpD with an Impish nature gives Mienfoo impressive bulk at the expense of Speed, including the ability letting it always survive Download Porygon's Psychic and almost always survive non-Life Orb Abra's Psychic from full HP. This spread also lets Mienfoo defeat opposing Weak Armor Vullaby with Fake Out. You can forgo defensive investment almost entirely and run a spread of 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe which can to catch opposing teams off-(RH)guard with its offensive presence, including almost always OHKOing standard Vullaby after Stealth Rock. Eviolite provides Mienfoo the bulk to survive most attacks from full health. Regenerator keeps Mienfoo healthy and able enables it to continually pivot into threats.

Usage Tips
========

Mienfoo is one of the most consistent lead options in the tier thanks to Fake Out and its ability to make progress with Knock Off and U-turn. This set is a great sponge for chip damage thanks to its bulk and ability to heal when switching out. Mienfoo should use its bulk and resistances to come in on Pokemon like Ferroseed, Pawniard, and Onix and make progress with Knock Off and U-turn. U-turn should be used aggressively,(AC) and Mienfoo,(AC) in general,(AC) should be preserved often, as multiple pivots can bring its health back from low to full restore its HP.(Add Period) and Mienfoo can often force Fighting-resists Fighting-resistant foes to switch in and U-turn out pivot into frail offensive threats like Diglett and Abra with U-turn. While its chip damage and priority can be valuable,(AC) Fake Out should be used strategically, as while its chip damage and priority can be invaluable,(RC) it can also allow free switch-ins from Weak Armor Vullaby and Mienfoo's checks to Mienfoo.

Team Options
========

Mienfoo pairs excellently with Diglett, as Mienfoo it can weaken foes with Knock Off and get Diglett free switch-ins with U-turn;(comma to semicolon) and in return,(AC) Diglett can trap and KO Mareanie and Abra for Mienfoo. Mienfoo supports Vullaby well by switching into Pawniard and Onix and forcing them out or KOing them, and the two can pivot into each other with U-turn and create offensive pressure. Vullaby can also force deter Abra to think twice about from using Psychic. Pawniard supports Mienfoo by switching into dangerous special attacks from the likes of attackers like Abra and Galarian Ponyta as well as Vullaby's Brave Bird, but it can easily be worn down in this role. Ferroseed is an even more reliable answer to Abra,(AC) and Mienfoo's U-turn gets it free turns against Foongus.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: High Jump Kick
move 2: U-turn
move 3: Knock Off
move 4: Close Combat / Brick Break
item: Choice Scarf

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

High Jump Kick is Mienfoo's STAB of choice and, boosted by Reckless, does major damage to the a majority of the tier. U-turn lets Mienfoo pivot on the switches it forces, taking advantage of the extreme threat from High Jump Kick. U-turn takes advantage of the threat from High Jump Kick and lets Mienfoo pivot against the switch-ins it force in. Knock Off lets Mienfoo punish Fighting-resists Fighting-resistant foes and especially Ghost-types like Frillish that attempt to switch into High Jump Kick. The last move slot goes to a 100% accurate STAB move; Close Combat is generally the best option thanks to its power, while Brick Break provides an emergency check to dual screens offense.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed investment with a Jolly nature and a Choice Scarf ensure that Mienfoo hits as hard as possible while outspeeding most of the tier, including common Choice Scarf users like Porygon and Vullaby. This Speed Choice Scarf allows Mienfoo to force out or KO potent threats like Abra, Galarian Ponyta, and Staryu. Reckless is the ability of choice for the tremendous power it provides immense power to High Jump Kick,(RC) which and deals chunk heavy damage even to bulky resists bulky Fighting-resistant foes without their Eviolite.

Usage Tips
========

Choice Scarf Mienfoo wants to use High Jump Kick as frequently as possible and will impose immense pressure every time it does;(comma to semicolon) thus,(AC) generating free switch-ins through tools like Vullaby's U-turn should be your priority. Mienfoo can strategically use Knock Off early in games in the early-game to soften Fighting-resists switching in Fighting-resistant switch-ins(might wanna add examples for here), as High Jump Kick severely threatens most of these checks without their Eviolites. This set relies on the gradual chipping down of these Fighting-resists Fighting-resistant foes so that can to serve as a wincon in the end game late-game.

Team Options
========

Timburr supports this set well, as it can function as a defensive Fighting-type while overwhelming Fighting-resists and overwhelm Fighting-resistant foes, especially Foongus and Koffing, with Knock Off and Ice Punch. Knock Off support from users like Vullaby, Pawniard, and Mareanie is also invaluable for whittling down bulky foes that might otherwise survive High Jump Kick. Ferroseed switches well into Fighting-resists Fighting-resistant foes that force out Mienfoo and can set Spikes to facillitate a sweep. Diglett can capitalizes on U-turns to trap and KO Mareanie and Focus Sash Abra,(RC) and can also trap Focus Sash Abra.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Choice Band is an option over Choice Scarf to make Mienfoo absurdly powerful and net surprising OHKOs on opposing Vullaby and Mienfoo, although the set's relative slowness and frailty necessitate more cautious use and team support. Mienfoo can run a Swords Dance set with Berry Juice and Acrobatics on Sticky Web offense teams to serve as a powerful sweeper, though but Scraggy generally outclasses it in this role. Acrobatics is an option on non-Berry Juice sets to hit Foongus, but it will typically be useless unless Mienfoo takes a Knock Off. Feint is an option to help beat Focus Sash Abra but lacks Fake Out's benefit of free damage against other foes. Swords Dance is an option on pivot sets to boost and OHKO a Vullaby attempting that attempts to switch in. Regenerator can be run on Choice Scarf sets to give Mienfoo added durability against priority moves, but the major decrease in power makes this inadvisable.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Koffing**: Koffing's hefty physical bulk and Poison-type Poison typing allow it to reliably pivot into Mienfoo and threaten it out with a burn or a powerful Sludge Bomb. Koffing's Neutralizing Gas also can harm Mienfoo's staying power by preventing its Regenerator recovery on switches from Regenerator. However,(AC) Koffing lacks reliable recovery,(RC) though,(RC) and is vulnerable to entry hazards, meaning it can only switch into Mienfoo a few times.

**Mareanie**: Thanks to its Fighting-resistance resistance to Fighting and Regenerator, Mareanie is the one of the sturdiest Mienfoo checks in the tier. Mareanie must be wary of switching into U-turn, though, as Mienfoo may pivot off Mareanie into Diglett or a powerful special attacker on the switch. Mareanie also takes significant damage from Choice Band High Jump Kick without its Eviolite.

**Foongus**: Foongus resists High Jump Kick, can stay healthy with Regenerator and reliable recovery, and punish Mienfoo with Spore. Foongus still struggles mightily when Mienfoo is paired with Ferroseed, as Ferroseed fears none of Foongus's options and U-turn prevents the Foongus user from doubling to punish Ferroseed.

Protect prevents Mienfoo from powering through with High Jump Kick, even Reckless variants. However,(AC) Spritzee often struggles to make progress against Mienfoo,(RC) though,(RC) thanks to Mienfoo pivoting with U-turn into bulky Pokemon like Mareanie and Ferroseed that wall it.

**Fast Special Attackers(capitalize)**: Mienfoo without a Choice Scarf can be threatened by speedy threats like Abra and Galarian Ponyta. Abra often runs Protect to preserve its Focus Sash from Fake Out and can punish Mienfoo with Psychic. However,(AC) Mienfoo can,(RC) however,(RC) survive non-Life Orb Abra's Psychic from full health with maximum Special Defense investment and its Eviolite.

Fake Out wears down weakened faster offensive threats that are faster such as Speed-boosted Nasty Plot Vullaby and Choice Scarf users, and it can also stall out turns of opposing sun, dual screens, and Grassy Terrain.

Pivot Mienfoo's versatility is defined by its ability to run multiple EV spreads to fit different roles. The given EV spread balances Mienfoo's ability to threaten much of the tier with its Speed while also providing ample physical bulk. Hitting 17 Speed helps Mienfoo Speedtie Speed ties with Onix, Natu, and opposing Mienfoo and lets it always outspeed Pawniard and non-Choice Scarf Vullaby. This spread also lets Mienfoo defeat opposing Weak Armor Vullaby with Fake Out. You can forgo defensive investment almost entirely and run a spread of 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe to catch opposing teams off guard surprise opponents with its offensive presence, almost always OHKOing standard Vullaby after Stealth Rock. Eviolite provides Mienfoo the bulk to survive most attacks from full health. Regenerator keeps Mienfoo healthy and enables it to continually pivot into threats.

Usage Tips
========

Mienfoo is one of the most consistent lead options in the tier thanks to Fake Out, (comma) Knock Off, and ability to make progress with Knock Off and U-turn. This set is a great sponge for chip damage thanks to its bulk and ability to heal when switching out. Mienfoo should use its bulk and resistances to come in on Pokemon like Ferroseed, Pawniard, and Onix and make progress with Knock Off and U-turn. U-turn should be used aggressively, and Mienfoo, (comma) in general, should generally be preserved often, as multiple pivots switches can restore its HP. Mienfoo can often force Fighting-resistant foes to switch in and pivot into frail offensive threats like Diglett and Abra with U-turn to exploit them. While its chip damage and priority can be valuable, Fake Out should be used strategically, as it can also allow free switch-ins switches from Weak Armor Vullaby and checks to Mienfoo.

Team Options
========

Mienfoo pairs excellently with Diglett, as it can weaken foes with Knock Off and get Diglett free switch-ins switches with U-turn; in return, Diglett can trap and KO Mareanie and Abra for Mienfoo. Mienfoo supports Vullaby well by switching into Pawniard and Onix and forcing them out or KOing them, and the two can pivot into between each other with U-turn and create offensive pressure.

Moves
========

Reckless High Jump Kick, boosted by Reckless, does major damage to a majority of the tier. U-turn takes advantage of the threat from High Jump Kick forcing switches and lets Mienfoo pivot against the switch-ins it force in. Knock Off lets Mienfoo punish Fighting-resistant foes and especially Ghost-types like Frillish that attempt to switch into High Jump Kick. The last move slot goes to a 100% accurate STAB move; Close Combat is generally the best option thanks to its power, while Brick Break provides an emergency check to dual screens offense.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed investment with a Jolly nature and a Choice Scarf ensure that Choice Scarf Mienfoo hits as hard as possible while outspeeding most of the tier, including common Choice Scarf users like Porygon and Vullaby. Choice Scarf allows Mienfoo to force out or KO potent threats like Abra, Galarian Ponyta, and Staryu. Reckless provides immense power to High Jump Kick and deals heavy damage to bulky Fighting-resistant foes without Eviolite.

Usage Tips
========

Choice Scarf Mienfoo wants to use High Jump Kick as frequently as possible and will impose immense pressure every time it does; thus, generating free switch-ins switches through tools like Vullaby's U-turn should be your priority. Mienfoo can strategically use Knock Off in the early-game to soften Fighting-resistant switch-ins, as High Jump Kick severely threatens most of these checks without their Eviolites them without Eviolite. This set relies on the gradual chipping down of these Fighting-resistant foes to serve as a wincon in the late-game.

Team Options
========

Other Options
=============

Choice Band is an option over Choice Scarf to make Mienfoo absurdly powerful and net surprising OHKOs on unexpectedly OHKO opposing Vullaby and Mienfoo, although the set's relative slowness and frailty necessitate more cautious use and team support. Mienfoo can run a Swords Dance set with Berry Juice and Acrobatics on Sticky Web offense teams to serve as a powerful sweeper, but Scraggy generally outclasses it in this role. Acrobatics is an option on non-Berry Juice sets to hit Foongus, but it will typically be useless unless Mienfoo takes a Knock Off. Feint is an option to help beat Focus Sash Abra but lacks Fake Out's benefit of free damage against other foes. Swords Dance is an option on pivot sets to boost and OHKO Vullaby that attempt to switch in. Regenerator can be run on Choice Scarf sets to give Mienfoo added durability against priority moves, but the major decrease in power makes this inadvisable.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Koffing**: Koffing's hefty physical bulk and Poison typing allow it to reliably pivot into Mienfoo and threaten it out with a burn or a its powerful Sludge Bomb.

Mareanie must be wary of switching into U-turn, though, as Mienfoo may pivot into to Diglett or a powerful special attacker on the switch. Mareanie also takes significant damage from Choice Band High Jump Kick without its Eviolite.

**Foongus**: Foongus resists High Jump Kick, can stay healthy with Regenerator and reliable recovery, and punish Mienfoo with Spore. Foongus struggles mightily when Mienfoo is paired with Ferroseed, as Ferroseed fears none of Foongus's options and U-turn prevents Foongus from doubling double switching to punish Ferroseed.

Protect prevents Reckless Mienfoo from powering through with High Jump Kick, even Reckless variants. However, Spritzee often struggles to make progress against Mienfoo thanks to Mienfoo pivoting with U-turn into to bulky Pokemon like Mareanie and Ferroseed that wall it.

**Fast Special Attackers**: Mienfoo without a Choice Scarf can be threatened by speedy threats like Abra and Galarian Ponyta. Abra often runs Protect to preserve its Focus Sash from against Fake Out and can punish Mienfoo with Psychic. However, Mienfoo can survive non-Life Orb Abra's Psychic from full health with maximum Special Defense investment and Eviolite.
