Milk, anyone? (RMT.)

Hi guys. (:
This is my second shot at creating a competitive team.
I was a little bored of Pokemon, so I stopped playing for a couple of months. But now that HG / SS is out, I am finally back into battling and wanted to create a great team to use when I finally get my Wii and PBR.

So, shall we get started? ^^

Of course I started with what every team needs: A lead!
I really like Gliscor; It has great defense with a nice Special Defense to back it up. It can stop your opponent from setting up, while setting up for its own teammates. What more could you ask for?

Next, I wanted to add in a tank that could support my team, as well as throw in some damage. What better tank than MILtank? (;

Obviously, I needed a Physical Attacker. At the same time, I had to think about countering dragons, such as DDMence. Azumarill was the first Pokemon to come to mind. Of course, you should always go with your gut.

I needed a Special Attacker, so at first, I thought of Mismagius. But then, I thought to myself, "What is a huge threat to any opposing team?" Then it hit me: Scizor. Zapdos is an amazing Scizor counter, as well as an amazing Special Attacker.

Of course I had to think of a way to annoy the crap out of my opponent. What kind of battler would I be if I didn't? (: I went with Jumpluff, since its amazing speed stat tagged along with the most amazing combination of moves, can give any opponent a headache.

And last but not least: Scizor. Do I really need to explain this one? It does an amazing job as a revenge killer, as well as a scout. And once I thought of Zapdos to counter Scizors, of course I had to think of adding one to my team. ^^

Overview:

Gliscor (M) @
focus-sash.png

The Lead
Nature: Impish
Ability: Sand Veil
EV: 252 HP
40 Attack
216 Speed

- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Roost
- Earthquake

As a Lead, Gliscor does an amazing job and lives up to all of the expectations that are given to a Lead. Taunt is able to make the opposing team unable to set up, while afterward, I can set up my own Stealth Rock. Roost enables me to recover any lost HP, while Earthquake is able to at least 2HKO other leads such as Tyranitar and Metagross. Focus Sash lets me live after an attempted kill from Pokes such as Swampert. Sand Veil will also help me out if Tyranitar is sent out, due to Sand Stream as its ability.

Miltank (F) @

The Supportive "Milk Tank"
Nature: Impish
Abillity: Thick Fat
EV: 252 HP
136 Defense
120 Sp. Defense

- Curse
- Milk Drink
- Heal Bell
- Body Slam

I love Miltank. A lot. Out of all second generation Pokemon, this little pink cow has got to be my favorite. It is able to do so much for your team. All I have to do is curse, curse, curse, then the rest is easy as pie. Simply curse several times, while drinking some milk to restore lost HP's that occurred in the process. Once this is done and ready, simply Body Slam away. Paralysis support is always helpful, as well. If any member of my team is poisoned due to Toxic Spikes, Miltank is the key. Heal Bell, and the sweeping continues.

azumarill.png

Azumarill (F) @
choice-band.png

The Physical Attacker
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Huge Power
EV: 240 HP
252 Attack
16 Speed

- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Return
- Ice Punch

As a Physical Attacker, she only has one job to fulfill: Sweep, Sweep, Sweep. Aqua Jet receives priority, which is perfect for the final finishing blow. Waterfall received STAB, while Return is there for some type coverage. Ice Punch also provides nice type coverage, while hitting hard on DDMences, Dragonites, etc.

zapdos.png

Zapdos @
leftovers.png

A Very "Special" Bird
Nature: Modest
Ability: Pressure
EV: 252 Sp. Attack
252 Speed
4 HP

- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Thunder Wave
- Roost

As I mentioned earlier, Zapdos is a great Scizor counter, as well as being able to hit hard against Gyarados. T-Wave the opponent to cripple them, then hit hard with STAB Thunderbolt. Heat Wave easily kills Scizor in 2 hits, at most, and also takes care of other steel types that might pose a problem, such as Metagross or Lucario. Roost is there to regain lost HP and allows this little fella to keep on sweeping. A critical part of my team, no questions asked.

jumpluff.png

Jumpluff (F) @
leftovers.png

The Annoying Puffball
Nature: Timid
Ability: Chlorophyll
EV: 188 Defense
68 Special Defense
252 Speed

- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Sleep Powder
- U Turn

Jumpluff does a great job at one simple thing: Annoying the opponent. Sleep Powder makes the opposing Pokemon practically useless, then simply set up a substitute, send out a leech seed, and repeat the process as needed. U-Turn out if needed while a substitute is up, and then the next Poke out will be ready to go. (: This Pokemon is a bit frail, but is an amazing part of time. She gets the job done nearly every time. The only issue is when Sleep Powder misses.

scizor.png

Scizor (M) @
life-orb.png

The Scout That Gets His Revenge
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Technician
EV: 248 HP
252 Attack
8 Speed

- Bullet Punch
- U Turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

I think everyone is fully aware why this guy deserves a spot on nearly any team. He is an amazing revenger and scouter. Speed EV's are not incredibly needed, seeing as Bullet Punch received priority. U Turn receives STAB, and allows Scizor to get some scouting done while inflicting heavy damage. Superpower allows type coverage to tag along with his amazing Attack stat. Pursuit allows me to get some nice damage on ghost types, which is something the rest of my team lacks, and allows me to hit hard on switchers. Once I thought of a way to counter this guy, what would be a better idea than to add one to my own team? (:

So there you have it.
My brand new team.

Suggestions are welcome, I am sure some tweaking is necessary.

Thanks for reading. ^^

Hiya!

Right off the bat, I can see that this team is HEAVILY Sugimori weak. There is a simple solution to this, and that would be to use GTS+ instead of Arkeis. Annoying drawings are annoying. Lol.

Anyways, all the joking aside, this a cool team. But there are a few problems that I noticed and hopefully I can fix them.

First off, Jumpluff. Jumpluff's role on your team is a SubSeeder/Annoyer right? However, its job is stopped cold because of its weakness to SR. It takes 25% damage from just switching in, not even counting the attack that you receive from the opponent should you choose to switch in on a resisted attack. This would mean that you might be down to 50-60% HP, which also means that you only get a max of 2 Subs. There is a Pokemon that doesn't take much from SR and does the SubSeeder/Annoyer job better than Jumpluff, andthat would be Breloom. Due to its partial Fighting typing as well as Poison Heal, it outclasses Jumpluff by a long shot. So test out Breloom and see how you like it.

Another problem I see is your Scizor's moveset. Your Scizor is holding a LO, and yet it does not have SD nor Roost. Its moveset seems ripped off from the CB set. There are 2 options here: make Scizor a full-on CBer, or make him a full-on LO sweeper. To keep your Scizor's primary role the same, I suggest using the LO set.

Scizor | Technician | Life Orb
Adamant | 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Swords Dance | Roost / U-Turn | Bullet Punch | Brick Break / Bug Bite

I would also like to know how you deal with DD Gyara because with +1, your Zapdos is outsped and 1HKOed by Stone Edge; in fact, your whole team is outsped after a DD. So to help remedy this, may I suggest you test out Vaporeon over Miltank? Vaporeon can do practically the same role as your Miltank. Let's face it; your Miltank will never get the chance to set up more than 2 Curses (unless your opponent is super stupid). Vaporeon is the more superior choice to be able to stop Gyara.

Vaporeon | Water Absorb | Leftovers
Bold | 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Wish | Protect / Heal Bell | Surf | Hidden Power Electric / Roar / Toxic

You can also test out Wish Latias over Miltank. Latias might not help with your DD Gyara weakness much, but it will help pHaze out major threats like CM Jirachi and CM Cune that you seriously have problems with.

Latias | Levitate | Leftovers
Timid | 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Wish / Roar / Dragon Pulse / Heal Bell

All I did for that Latias was max out her Spe to be able to outsped HP Fire Latias / Gengar as well as outspeed almost everything else.

Hope I helped. Good luck!

Misa; Thank you for the comments. (: I will try the full-on CB set on Scizor and see how it works out. As for the Vaporeon > Miltank, I will check it out. Miltank has worked out pretty good so far but I will try out Vaporeon and see which one I like better. Thank ya. ^^

Jumpluff----------

With Jumpluff as one of my favorite pokes, I can sympathize with your want of it on your team. However, Jumpluff is a pokemon whose effectiveness is gauged by the very small niche it fits in a team. Its biggest selling point is a fast sleep powder which Breloom lacks. (It has spore but it is in no way fast.) Another point about Jumpluff is its reliance on its ability to ensure its superior speed and ability to put up a substitute before its opponent indefinitely.

In order for Jumpluff to function in a team, Sunny Day is usually recommended though not necessary. Scarftran almost definitely annihilate it and the best poke on your team to absorb the oncoming fire blast is probably Miltank but Heatran will still cripple it despite thick fat.

In order to allow Jumpluff to function, you need a spinner definitely. Tentacruel comes to mind as one that can easily shrug off a fire blast from a Scarftran then retaliate with Toxic Spikes or Surf. In addition, if you pair such a reliable special tank with cursing Miltank, you get a good partnership of walls built up.

Miltank----------

However, since you seem to really like Miltank, you should maybe make your team work around its problems. As you have a problem with DD Gyara, should you Scarf your Zapdos, you should easily be able to take it out or at least scare it away to some extent.

As stated, Miltank's biggest weakness is that it is outclassed by many common supporting tanks. Blissey comes to mind. However, its biggest appeal (to me at least) is its ability scrappy. While thick fat helps you cover some much needed weaknesses, Scrappy is maybe the only reason I would use Miltank. It has only a mediocre base attack so cursing is much welcome and its access to milk drink and heal bell would make it supportive enough to heal itself after cursing and help your team in general. I would use return over body slam as I find the extra power worth it over paralysis but that's just me.

Scizor----------

If you opt for a Life Orb Scizor, I would recommend running SD or Roost as running both of them might hazard your offensive capabilities.

Azumarill----------

Aside from that, a gripe I have about your team is against Azumarill. Despite Huge Power, Azumarill seems like a novelty sweeper at best. The set you have is almost completely reliant on its presence in UU. I feel in OU a Belly Drum set coupled with Huge Power would bring enough oomph to try for a sweep. However, since you cannot have aqua jet and belly drum in the same set, it makes salac berry almost necessary. However, because of its frailty, too many things will take it out after a belly drum or sub. Unfortunately, ultimately, it means that Azumarill finds itself in a tough spot when pitted against many of the OU metagame.

Conclusion----------

Lastly, stated above, Vaporeon is not a bad supporter should you replace Miltank. Your team seems very interesting as it pulls some uncommon strategies together but I dont feel like there is enough synergy to hold this team together. I think it has alot of potential (Or maybe because I think your choice of poke is pretty cool.) but you need to find a better way to bring this team together.

May I suggest you make a threat list to address the poke in the metagame that heavily threaten your team? If you don't want to, you can find this list simply through extensive testing.

Good luck with your team and I know I haven't been very specific so sorry but I'm feeling a little lazy right now.
