Welcome, one and all, to the Minior Circuit! This is a brand new tournament circuit organized by the Random Battles room on PS! that gives players the opportunity to prove their individual skill in a variety of our smaller and more varied Randomised formats. Over the coming months, players will compete in 7 different Opens with the objective to earn points and standing on the Minior leaderboard. The top 16 players will qualify for the Minior Circuit Playoffs, with the eventual first-place prize of a PS! Username Colour Change

To those of you who’ve competed in previous years of the Rands Slam: this will be using the tried and true method! This means that the best 5 performance limit is back!

While the circuit as a whole will be coordinated by the Minior hosts, each individual Open will be hosted by different members of the Random Battles community. Minior hosts will have final say over all administrative decisions regarding the tour, with input from each Open’s respective hosts. All Opens will follow the basic guidelines for tournaments on Smogon, but may differ slightly due to their varying structures, so remember to read each OP carefully when signing up!

The Prizes
- The winner of each Open will get the Room Prize Winner rank for one month and be recorded in the Random Battles Hall of Fame
- The overall Minior Circuit winner (the player who emerges at the top of the playoffs bracket) will get a PS! color change or username reset; and Room Prize Winner rank for one year!

As this thread isn't locked and we can post replies, I would want to ask here one question: will there be a second edition next year? If so, will you implement more tiers (for example doubles b12p6, monkey's paw... or basically any other rands meta that you create throughout this year)? I'm just very curious because I find very interesting the idea of this minior circuit and I wwant to solve that doubt.
If this is not the right place to ask it, I really apologise and I will delete the message if there is a problem with it, I'm just asking here because I dont know exactly where to ask, and I also don't think that I would get a serious/valid enough answer in the rands room. Great initiative, once again :))

The plan for the Minior Circuit has always been to highlight a variety of our more unique but niche minor formats we have available; this year, we tried to keep it to a limit of two "modded gen 9 rands" formats (CAP and Shared Power B12P6, in our case). If there's significant community demand to replace more of the seven slots with modded gen 9 formats, we will consider doing so. We'd like to keep this circuit smaller (compared to main) and Minior-themed, though, thus the 7 tours for 7 colors.
