WELCOME TO THE WOOOOORLD OF TOMORROW!

[SET]
DANGER: HIGH VOLTAGE (Offensive) (Miraidon) @ Choice Scarf / Choice Specs / Life Orb
Ability: Hadron Engine
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid / Modest Nature
Tera Type: Electric / Ice / Water
- Electro Drift
- Draco Meteor
- Volt Switch / U-turn
- Tera Blast / Dazzling Gleam / Overheat

[SET COMMENTS]

* With the boosts from Hadron Engine and Electric Terrain driving up its amperage to horrifying measurements, Miraidon is a shocking combination of special offense and support!

* **Volt Switch versus U-turn**: Miraidon makes a fantastic pivot thanks to its high Speed and power. Volt Switch deals a massive surge of damage compared to most pivoting moves in the game, but U-turn's low power is made up for by pivoting out of Ting-Lu, a common Miraidon check.

* **Dazzling Gleam**: If using Tera Fairy or Tera Electric, Dazzling Gleam is handy for dealing decent chip damage to Ting-Lu.

* **Overheat**: Overheat deals huge damage to Rillaboom, who will often try to step-down Miraidon's voltage with Grassy Surge. It also hits the rare Iron Treads, who resists all of Miraidon's other coverage.

* **Timid versus Modest**: Miriadon is in a highly contested Speed tier, making Timid the preferred option in case of speedties. However, if using Choice Specs and Tera Electric, Modest offers such a terrifyingly high voltage that Electro Drift has a good shot of 2HKOing specially defensive Wo-Chien!

Other Options
========

* **Dragon Pulse**: While not offering the sheer wallbreaking power of Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse is a better cleaning tool while Ground-types are still lurking around.

Tera Types
========

* **Tera Dependency - Medium**: Miraidon is perfectly capable of ripping through teams on its own, but Terastallization can either stop certain revenge kill attempts or open up new foes to zap.

* **Electric**: Removing the weaknesses of being a Dragon is already good, but jolting up Electro Drift's power to horrifying voltages means even Blissey and resistances like bulky Ogerpon-H and specially defensive Wo-Chien take serious damage, especially if holding Choice Specs! It also allows Choice Scarf sets to OHKO most Flutter Mane.

* **Ice**: While a poor defensive typing, Tera Ice stops Chien-Pao from short circuiting Miraidon with Icicle Crash, while giving a new coverage attack against Ting-Lu, Rillaboom, and Landorus-T.

* **Water**: Tera Water is a far better defensive alternative to Tera Ice for taking on Chien-Pao and drowning Ground-types, at the cost of making Rillaboom a huge problem and mirror Miraidon matches shaky.

* **Fairy**: Tera Fairy is not only great for soaking up Dragon-type attacks, it also provides handy coverage against Ting-Lu with a boosted Dazzling Gleam.

Items
=======

* **Choice Scarf**: Koraidon and Flutter Mane have boosted Speed often enough where Choice Scarf gives Miraidon a fighting chance of moving first anyways, as well as making Miraidon a powerful revenge killer in general.

* **Choice Specs**: Choice Specs wires up Miraidon into a powerful wallbreaker, with only Blissey, Chansey, and Ground-types being able to effectively handle repeated Electro Drifts. With Tera Electric, not even Blissey can withstand the sheer columbs of Electro Drift!

* **Life Orb**: Miraidon is threatening enough to infulence some Pokemon such as Alomomola to use Tera Ground to punish Choice Items, so Life Orb is a reasonable alternative for extra power at the cost of compromising Miraidon's bulk.

[SET]
Tank (Miraidon) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Hadron Engine
Tera Type: Water / Fairy / Electric
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 196 SpA / 36 SpD / 20 Spe
Modest / Timid Nature
- Electro Drift
- Draco Meteor
- Parabolic Charge / Volt Switch
- Tera Blast / Volt Switch / Dazzling Gleam

[SET COMMENTS]

* Focusing on insulation with Assault Vest rather than velocity and raw wattage may seem counter to Miriadon's purpose, but this mode showcases its impressive skills as a tank!

* **Parabolic Charge**: Electric Terrain juices Parabolic Charge up into one of the most powerful healing attacks around, which is a perfect fit for this Miriadon's focus on bulk. Even foes like Calyrex-S are still usually 2HKOed by Parabolic Charge!

* **Volt Switch**: Miraidon's bulk makes it a great pivot, especially once Ground-types are dealt with. Just note that it does come at the cost of healing or coverage.

* **Dazzling Gleam**: If using Tera Fairy, Dazzling Gleam is a reasonable way to wear down Ting-Lu switch-in.

Other Options
========

* **Overheat**: This Miraidon is particularly vulnerable to the power down from Rillaboom's Grassy Surge and the rare but troublesome Assault Vest Iron Treads, giving Overheat a niche to hit them hard.

Tera Types
=========

* **Tera Dependency - Medium**: Miraidon has enough insulation that even Dragon and Fairy attacks are unlikely to KO it, but Terastallization is still helpful for keeping its capacitors in good shape.

* **Water**: Tera Water is a big help against potential Chien-Pao revenge kills, as well as making Tera Blast into a powerful device against Ground-types. Just be warned, this Tera type gives Rillaboom, Ogerpon formes, and opposing Miraidon a much easier time revenge killing this set.

* **Fairy**: Tera Fairy bounces off powerful Dragon-type attacks, perfect for revenge killing Outrage locked threats like Koraidon, as well as increasing Dazzling Gleam's power at wearing down Ting-Lu.

* **Electric**: While this set isn't focused on wallbreaking, Tera Electric boosting Electro Drift still electrocutes most Pokemon anyways, with the bonus of removing all weaknesses associated with the Dragon-type.

* **Steel**: Tera Steel retaining the Ground-type weakness means it doesn't have the best synergy, but the Toxic immunity and new insulation against Dragon and Fairy attacks makes it a reasonable option.

* **Ice**: Tera Ice provides both a vital resistance to Chien-Pao's Icicle Crash and powerful coverage against Ground and Dragon types alike, but note that its poor defensive qualities are a bigger sticking point for tanking.

EV Spreads
========

* All of the EV spreads below are designed to survive Draco Meteor from Timid Miraidon that lack an offensive item, improving the mirror match-up. If some extra EVs are needed elsewhere, the Special Defense investment can be reduced to 20 EVs so that opposing Timid Miraidon will only be able to OHKO on the highest Draco Meteor roll.

* **252 HP / 4 Def / 196 SpA / 36 SpD / 20 Spe with Modest**: This mode outspeeds up to Jolly Landorus-T, giving Miraidon an extra bit of power and the ability to set Electric Terrain up against Timid Indeedee leads.

* ** 252 HP / 4 Def / 148 SpA / 36 SpD / 68 Spe with Modest**: This mode allows Miraidon to outspeed Jolly Urshifu formes and Mimikyu, both of whom can threaten serious damage.

* **252 HP / 4 Def / 156 SpA / 36 SpD / 60 Spe with Timid**: This spread gives up a significant amount of power in exchange for outspeeding Jolly Ogerpon formes and Timid Alolan Ninetales.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Electric Terrain Teammates
========

Hadron Engine doesn't have to just be for Miraidon's circuitry. While almost any Pokemon appreciates sleep moves being shut down, there are a few specific types of Pokemon that love Electric Terrain being set-up.

* **Electric Seed Sweepers and Sneasler**: The one-time Defense boost from Electric Seed can be just what some sweepers need to set up. While most bulky sweepers can benefit from Electric Seed, Sneasler is one of the best options thanks to taking advantage of Unburden as well, meaning it'll outspeed even Choice Scarf Calyrex-S!

* **Iron Bundle**: Iron Bundle reigns as the supreme choice that most teams should consider over other Paradox Pokemon, using Quark Drive's Speed boost to outspeed the highly contested Base 135 Speed tier regardless of their items, making it a fearsome late-game cleaner and user of Encore!

* **Other Quark Drive Pokemon**: There are more niche Paradox Pokemon that benefit from Miraidon's Electric Terrain, such as Focus Sash Iron Valiant, Power Herb Iron Moth, and Iron Hands. Make sure you read their analyses if you aren't sure they fit your team though, since Iron Bundle will usually fit most teams better.

Speed EV Benchmarks
======

20 Spe: This outspeeds Jolly Landorus-T.

68 Spe: This outspeeds Jolly Urshifu formes and Jolly Mimikyu.

100 Spe: This outspeeds Timid Chi-Yu.

60+ Spe or 188 Spe: This outspeeds Jolly Ogerpon formes, Timid Iron Moth, and Timid Alolan Ninetales.

68+ Spe or 196 Spe: This outspeeds +Spe Scream Tail.

132+ Spe: This outspeeds Jolly Roaring Moon as well as Neutral Nature Miraidon, Koraidon, Chien-Pao, and Flutter Mane.

140+ Spe: This outspeeds Jolly Snealser that have not activated Unburden.

220+ Spe: This outspeeds Timid Eternatus.

Tomorrow has arrived for Miriadon's QC check!

So I was originally going to include some Defensive EV benchmarks as well, but I decided against it for now because I really only know the AV one that's brought up for the 2nd set and the "survive Zacian-C" spread on the dex for using more Speed, I have no experience using Electric Seed CM Miraidon!

Otherwise this is ready!

Looks good overall. Main nitpick I have is actually in the strategy comments. I feel not every future paradox needs its own bullet. The big ones like Bundle and Moth to a lesser degree make sense, but stuff like Valiant and Hands either aren’t super relevant currently or don’t rely on activating quark drive to perform their intended role in a way that sets them apart from what is already discussed in your bullet about future paradoxes in general.

I'm fine with trimming down the section, only thing is... Iron Valiant and Iron Moth are literally right next to each other in usage lol. I'm sorta leaning towards either Moth because of its annoying issue sharing with Miraidon (mainly they both despise Ting-Lu lol), while Iron Valiant can at least help on that front.

Alternately maybe instead I just have an "Other Paradoxes" bullet. Iron Bundle is huge enough to deserve its own bullet, but I can probably describe the others in like a sentence each, I feel like if you're gonna use the more niche paradoxes, you either know what you're doing already or need to read their analysis to see if they're right for you (since their names will link to the analysis!)

Yeah that’s my thought process too. Simply naming them in the quark drive bullet point would suffice for a lot of them since outside of like iron bundle you really gotta know what your team needs before adding any of them

Alright made the change, here's what the non Iron Bundle Pokemon say now (I also removed the entire Quark Drive bullet since the info felt redundant with the new one)

* **Other Quark Drive Pokemon**: There are more niche Paradox Pokemon that benefit from Miraidon's Electric Terrain, such as Focus Sash Iron Valiant, Power Herb Iron Moth, and Iron Hands. Lemme know if that's good enough!
