[OVERVIEW]

Miraidon's absurd Speed tier, Hadron Engine-boosted power, and strong STAB combination make it a devastating wallbreaker that forces most teams to use both a Ground-type and a Dragon resistance in order to pivot around it. Furthermore, Miraidon's access to Calm Mind, Taunt, Agility, and boosting items makes it incredibly versatile and difficult to play around. However, Miraidon can have a hard time coming onto the field thanks to its Dragon- and Ground-type weaknesses and low physical bulk. Furthermore, Choice Scarf Koraidon, Zacian-C, and Extreme Killer Arceus being prevalent means that Miraidon cannot stay on the field too long. Nonetheless, Miraidon's great Speed tier, utility in Taunt and U-turn, and raw power make it a staple on many teams, and no team is complete without multiple forms of counterplay to it.

An alternative Double Dance set can be run with Solar Beam over Calm Mind and Tera Grass. When paired with a Life Orb, Tera Grass-boosted Solar Beam can OHKO Ting-Lu and specially defensive Arceus-Ground. However, this set relies on Koraidon's sun being up to work and is more Tera-reliant than Miraidon's standard Double Dance set. Tera Blast Ice is another option on both Double Dance and Calm Mind sets to give Miraidon BoltBeam coverage, but this option also comes with the weaknesses of the Ice typing, a reliance on Terastallization, and a lack of power compared to standard Tera Dragon sets. Tera Fairy is an option on non-Double Dance sets that lets you flip the matchup into Koraidon and opposing Miraidon. However, this comes at the risk of being revenge killed by Zacian-C and threatened by Sunsteel Strike from Necrozma-DM. An alternate EV spread of 208 HP / 252 SpA / 48 Spe is an option on Double Dance sets that lets you outspeed Rayquaza and Kyurem without using Agility.

Checks and Counters
====

**Ting-Lu**: Ting-Lu is capable of taking any unboosted attack from Miraidon and can either threaten it out with its powerful Earthquake or use Miraidon's presence as a chance to set up entry hazards. It can also Terastallize into a type that resists Draco Meteor such as Tera Steel or Fairy. However, Ting-Lu's lack of recovery means that it can only pivot into Miraidon a limited amount of times and must be wary of a +1 Tera Dragon Life Orb Draco Meteor, +1 Tera Fairy Life Orb Dazzling Gleam, or a +1 Life Orb Solar Beam, as these threaten to OHKO Ting-Lu after one layer of Spikes.

**Ground-types**: Bulky Arceus-Ground, Clodsire, specially defensive Gliscor, and Iron Treads can pivot into Miraidon's Electro Drift and take at least one unboosted Draco Meteor. They can also Terastallize into a type that resists Draco Meteor such as Tera Steel or Fairy. Arceus-Ground and Clodsire additionally have access to recovery moves that let them check Miraidon long-term, unlike Ting-Lu. However, they can struggle against Taunt variants of Miraidon and can be OHKOed by Choice Specs and Calm Mind sets.

**Revenge Killers**: Choice Scarf Koraidon and Miraidon, as well as Zacian-C, outspeed and threaten to OHKO Miraidon with their STAB attacks. However, Koraidon and Miraidon can only enter on a predicted Electro Drift. Extreme Killer Arceus can revenge kill Miraidon if it is heavily chipped, but must be wary of Tera Ghost. Iron Bundle in Electric Terrain also outspeeds Miraidon and threatens to OHKO it with either Choice Specs-boosted Ice Beam or simply Tera Ice-boosted Ice Beam.

**Dragon Resists**: Zacian-C, Arceus-Fairy, and Flutter Mane can pivot into Miraidon's Draco Meteor and threaten it out with a strong Fairy-type attack. Necrozma-DM can also pivot into Draco Meteor and run Tera Ground paired with Earthquake to threaten Miraidon. However, all of the aforementioned Pokemon are heavily threatened by Electro Drift and must be wary of switching into a predicted attack.

**Blissey**: Blissey can pivot into any of Miraidon's attacks and is never 2HKOed by Choice Specs- or Life Orb-boosted attacks. However, Blissey must be wary of Taunt blocking its use of Recover. Furthermore, Blissey can only touch Miraidon with Seismic Toss and must be wary of a potential Tera Ghost Miraidon.

**Arceus-Grass**: Arceus-Grass resists Miraidon's Electro Drift and can pivot into its Draco Meteor. However, it must be wary of Overheat on Choice Specs sets and can be outdamaged by Tera Dragon sets.
