This might be too much to ask, but I am frequently on my iPad and showdown doesn't work very well on it. It would be amazing if there was a Pokemon Showdown app, or a website created for mobile use. :)
 
The website is built to function for mobile users, too.

Will there ever be a phone app?
Maybe one day, but just use the website; its mobile version is actually pretty good on phones.

hm this ss is from a few years ago but seems smogon is advertising the new showdown app, also i think i downloaded it at one point and functioned similarly to showdown pc, just different interface and few bugs, but same chatrooms for eg

By official, I meant it wasn't listed as an official client - which means that support for these will most likely not exist. Regardless, it's still recommended that mobile users use the website.
This explicitly addresses ``website created for mobile use``

We do not have an official app, the screenshot you have is from the Technical Projects forum where anyone can post pokemon/PS/smogon related programs they created & maintain. A thread there does not make the program official in any sense.
 
well regardless of if it is an official app for showdown or not, does it not function very similarly to showdown and have similar data where it could be a decent substitute for mobile users?

It wouldn't be decent per se. It has significant issues and it's not supported or maintained that much iirc.
Use the website.
 
hm the person who first asked was having issues with the website on mobile, so ig he could pick either one really, or website cause i think app might have more bugs.
 
If the issue is bugs, the website is constantly updated. Please report any and all instances of bugs on the relevant thread.
 
For reasons I can't talk about, we can't have a mobile app.

However, the website is being worked on, and will work better in phones over time. I recommend using the website to battle on mobile.
