Sand Rush is now banned from Modern Generation 3! Excadrill and Houndstone, the main abusers have shown that they are too strong for the metagame to handle. Their speed is unmatched as they outpace everything in the tier, Excadrill being gifted with a 120 Base Power fighting move in Focus Blast allowed it to beat it's previous thought of checks with the pairing of Swords Dance and Life Orb. Examples of these previous checks are Arboliva and Ferrothorn. As well as this, Excadrill could utilise Magnezone as a partner which trapped and killed Skarmory and Corviknight which would otherwise wall it, set up hazards and Body Press. Houndstone is also greatly affected by this change, surprisingly not being as powerful as Excadrill due to it being predictable and having Last Respects be resisted by Steel-types. Houndstone with Fluffy, despite having its strengths isn't seen as strong enough to be banned. For now.
