Moltres is an excellent defensive Pokemon, being able to function as a sturdy physical wall and a pivot. Its typing and ability let it punish a multitude of physical attackers in the tier, threatening a burn with Flame Body to stop pivoting from U-turn or reliably walling the likes of Zamazenta lacking Stone Edge, Great Tusk, Enamorus, and Iron Valiant. Flamethrower and Hurricane deter Pokemon like Iron Treads, Ogerpon-W, and Landorus-T from switching into Moltres. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers like Kingambit, Ogerpon-W, and Dragonite. Roar stops potential setup sweepers like Iron Defense Zamazenta and Gouging Fire, as well as being a good way to deal passive damage if entry hazards are up. U-turn lets Moltres get in teammates safely. Scorching Sands is a good coverage move that lets it hit foes like Gouging Fire and Heatran and can fish for burns against most physical attackers. Tera Fairy is a solid defensive typing that gives Moltres a Dark resistance while keeping its natural Fighting resistance, maintaining its positive matchup versus Zamazenta. This lets Moltres check Dark-type physical attacker like Weavile and Kingambit in a pinch and allows it to get critical burns off on targets such as Ogerpon-W. Tera Grass flips Moltres's weakness to Water into a resistance, giving it an easier rain matchup, as well as taking various hits like Hydro Steam from Walking Wake, Ivy Cudgel from Ogerpon-W, and Water-type moves from Primarina to Roar out Calm Mind variants. Terastallization allows Moltres to ease its weakness to Knock Off and Stealth Rock, letting it not fear huge chip damage from them.

Moltres is a great fit on offensive teams and more bulky teams. Its great typing and its ability to spread burn help its teammates against prominent physical attackers. Partners like Clefable and Kingambit appreciate it being able to check threats like Great Tusk and Gouging Fire, while Clefable and Kingambit are able to switch into threats to Moltres, such as Weavile and Roaring Moon. Offensive partners like Ogerpon-W and Zamazenta appreciate Moltres's pivoting, forcing in Pokemon like Garganacl and Heatran, which have bad matchups against the aforementioned teammates. Zamazenta is also able to check Ogerpon-W with its ability's initial Defense boost. Darkrai and Weavile are also potent offensive partners, being able to amend Moltres's bad matchups such as Gliscor and Galarian Slowking by threatening huge damage on both targets. Threats to Moltres are potent attackers such as Primarina, Kyurem, and Ogerpon-W. A partner like Galarian Slowking works well with Moltres, as it enjoys burns allowing it to switch into physical attackers, such as a burned Zamazenta, as well as being able to switch into attacks from Primarina and Kyurem. Offensive threats like Ogerpon and Dragapult can check Ogerpon-W, either helping in taking attacks, revenge killing, or crippling it with status. Defensive partners such as Gliscor, Great Tusk, and Corviknight can switch into Knock Off for Moltres, with Gliscor itself being able to use Knock Off and set Spikes, which pairs well with Roar variants of Moltres. Great Tusk and Corviknight offer entry hazard removal. Ground-types like Clodsire and Ting-Lu are able to cover Moltres's bad matchups against Electric-types like Raging Bolt and Zapdos, as well as providing hazards, which make Moltres's phazing more of a threat.

Hi, thank you for your work on this analysis - we feel that it's incomplete in its current state, would you be able to put this back into WIP and make changes as necessary? Will list some relevant things below; again, what you have right now is mostly solid, it just feels like this is missing a good chunk and I'd like to see some additions before this gets a full QC.

Changes:
  • Assuming "mention no stedge" means no Stone Edge, which is good but yeah write this in lmao
  • "Flamethrower and Hurricane are solid STABs, and deter things from freely switching into it" is a very nothing sentence - does this STAB combo hit anything in particular? Remember that you don't have to explain unslashed STAB moves like Flamethrower if they aren't all that noteworthy
  • Scorching Sands does hit these things and it's good coverage but Garganacl takes like 25%
  • Tera Fairy isn't great into Gouging Fire, Moltres naturally walls the common Fire + EQ attacks it runs, and it's good at taking a hit from Kingambit in a pinch but being weak to Steel doesn't really help out in the overall matchup
  • "fat teams" isn't terminology we use
  • Will-O-Wisp isn't something that you spam to weaken physical attackers to enable other Pokemon. It's good to get burns off and make progress in that way, but that's not being used to enhance a partner like Kingambit's physical bulk or something like that
  • Kingambit is a fine partner but I'd prob list other Pokemon that pair well with it first
  • Clefable is not weak into Moltres - Molt typically doesn't want to risk switching in on Clefable's Knock Off
  • Great Tusk loses to both Weavile and Roaring Moon and isn't a great Knock Off absorber, it's a really good partner and it's great to have removal in case you ever lose HDB but it's not really paired as a switch in to either of these mons
Additions:
  • A lot of Moltres' good partners are defensive picks, it's generally good as role compression for bulkier teams with Flame Body + Will-O-Wisp + great defensive profile + pivoting and this isn't really reflected in anything here
  • Other Knock Off absorbers are great paired with Moltres, Gliscor in particular being a strong defensive partner
  • Moltres does work on more offensively oriented teams with that role compression it provides, it can be paired with other momentum pivots like Slowking-G + breaker + speed control or something along these lines
  • What does Moltres switch in on and check, and is there anything that appreciates Moltres' ability to do that?
  • Nothing that checks Moltres is mentioned in the second paragraph; if you add some things that force Moltres out or threaten it heavily, then you can discuss teammates that help to cover those weaknesses (Bolt, Prima, Kyurem, Wellspring, etc.)
I think this has the potential to be a solid analysis, but the last paragraph feels rushed and I think it could do with some more content before leaving the WIP stage. Hope this all helps, let me know if you have any questions!

Moltres is a solid defensive pokemon, being able to function as a Defensive Wall and a pivot. Its typing and ability lets it punish a multitude of physical attackers in the tier, threatening a burn with Flame Body to stop pivoting from U-turn, or reliably walling the likes of No Stone Edge Zamazenta lacking Stone Edge, Great Tusk, Kingambit,(AC) and Iron Valiant. (I would mention Enamorus over Kingambit, as Moltres is a much better check to that Pokemon.) Flamethrower and Hurricane are solid STABs moves, and deter things Pokemon like Weavile and Great Tusk from switching into them. (These Pokemon aren't exactly the best options to highlight, since they will naturally switch out of Moltres anyways.) Will-O-Wisp threatens Physical attackers like Kingambit and Dragonite as well as being solid chip damage overtime. (The chip damage Will-O-Wisp does isn't too notable against many of the most notable switch-ins to Moltres, such as Slowking-Galar. I'd instead mention how it can deter certain physical attackers from switching into Moltres, such as Ogerpon-W.) Roar stops potential setup sweepers like IDPB ID + BP Zamazenta as well as being a good way to get deal passive damage if entry Hhazards are up. (Mention Gouging Fire as well.) U-turn enables Moltres to pivot letting it get in teammates safely. Scorching Sands is good coverage which lets it hit things like Gouging Fire and Heatran and can fish for Burn. Roost ensures longevity allowing it to stick around throughout a game. Heavy-Duty-Boots allows Moltres to come in when Hazards are up, letting it consistently wall things. Tera Fairy is a solid defensive type which gives a Dark resistance while keeping Moltres' natural Fighting resistance. This lets Moltres check things like Weavile and Kingambit in a pinch. (Mention how Tera Fairy is useful to allow Moltres to land an emergency burn against certain key targets in a pinch, such Ogerpon-W.) Tera Water flips Moltres' weakness to water into a resistance, giving it an easier rain matchup as well as taking various hits like Hydro Steam from Walking Wake. (I would include mentions of Tera Dragon and Tera Grass as alternative Tera-types, as both help against Ogerpon-W, which is one of Moltres's more difficult match-ups. I would also mention as a general point how Moltres can use Terastalization to mitigate entry hazard damage if its boots are Knocked off - this is useful in many scenarios. )

Moltres is a great fit on offensive teams as well as more bulky teams. Its great typing and its ability to spread burn makes its teammates artificially bulkier. (I'd reword this to something a bit more clear - something like "helps its teammates against prominent physical attackers".) Partners like Clefable and Kingambit enjoy Moltres' presence as pPokemon that they are threatened by like Gouging Fire and Great Tusk are checked by Moltres, while the aforementioned partners can switch into threats to Moltres such as Weavile and Roaring Moon. (This portion should just be reworded into a follow-up sentence.) Offensive partners like Ogerpon-Wellspring and Zamazenta appreciate Moltres' pivoting, forcing in pokemon like Garganacl and Heatran which both have good matchups against. Threats to Moltres are potent attackers such as Primarina, Kyurem and Ogerpon-Wellspring. Partners is Slowking-Galar which appreciates Burns on physical threats so it can switch into more over the game, such as a Burned Zamazenta. It also can switch into attacks on the special side, like the attacks from Primarina and Kyurem. (The information in these sentences are good but it could be presented more clearly. Please reword them.) Corviknight and offensive threats like Weavile and Dragapult can check Ogerpon-Wellspring, either helping taking attacks or revenge killing/cripping it with status. (This section is missing a lot of key partners. Two of Moltres's worst match-ups are against Galarian Slowking and Gliscor. Partners that are specifically able to pressure these Pokemon, such as Darkrai and Kyurem in Gliscor's case, and Ting-Lu in Galarian Slowking's case, should be mentioned. Great Tusk should be mentioned as a partner - Moltres greatly appreciates Rapid Spin support in case its Boots are Knocked Off. Additional Grass-type Pokemon and Zamazenta should be mentioned as partners to help against Ogerpon-W. Clodsire should be mentioned as a partner, as it can help against Raging Bolt & Walking Wake while also appreciating Moltres's utility against Great Tusk. Gholdengo greatly appreciates Moltres's ability to check ground-types and can capitalize on its ability to spread burns with its Hex set. )

The analysis is decent, but I think the second paragraph could've mentioned more partners. I'd like to take another look at this so let me know when you implement.

(AP) Roar stops potential setup sweepers like Iron Defense and Body Press Zamazenta and Gouging Fire, as well as being a good way to deal passive damage if entry hazards are up. U-turn enables Moltres to pivot, (AC) letting it get in teammates safely. Scorching Sands is good coverage which lets it hit things like Gouging Fire and Heatran and can fish for Burn. Roost ensures longevity allowing it to stick around throughout a game. (IMO this sentence isn't needed since it is fairly self-explanatory. I believe it could be removed.) Heavy-Duty-Boots allows Moltres to come in when Hazards are up, letting it consistently wall things. Tera Fairy is a solid defensive type which gives a Dark resistance while keeping Moltres' natural Fighting resistance. This lets Moltres check things like Weavile and Kingambit in a pinch, and allows Moltres to get critical burns off on targets such as Ogerpon-Wellspring. (Weavile isn't perfect against Ogerpon-W since it can very easily lose to Tera Water variants. I think another Pokemon like Sinistcha or Ogerpon Teal Mask could be mentioned as a partner instead. ) Ground Types like Clodsire and Ting-Lu are able to cover Moltres' weakness to eletric types Electric-types like Raging Bolt and Zapdos, shrugging as well as providing Hazards which gives Moltres' phasing more of a threat. (This sentence seems incomplete. Might want to elaborate on what exactly Clodsire and Ting-Lu are "shrugging".) (Be sure to add Great Tusk as a partner, as Moltres greatly appreciates it's Rapid Spin support in situations where it loses its Heavy-Duty Boots.)

Moltres is a solid an excellent since you started writing this, Moltres has gone up considerably on the VR and it's now a defensive staple of the tier; defensive pokemon, being able to function as a Defensive Wall sturdy physical wall and a pivot. Its typing and ability lets it punish a multitude of physical attackers in the tier, threatening a burn with Flame Body to stop pivoting from U-turn, or reliably walling the likes of Zamazenta lacking Stone Edge, Great Tusk, Enamorus, and Iron Valiant. U-turn enables Moltres to pivot, letting it get in teammates safely. Scorching Sands is good coverage which lets it hit things like Gouging Fire and Heatran and can still fish for Burn against most physical attackers. Roost ensures longevity allowing it to stick around throughout a game. Un-bold this. Heavy-Duty-Boots allows Moltres to come in when Hazards are up, letting it consistently wall things. Reword this a little; this information is correct, of course, but something along the lines of "Heavy-Duty Boots protects Moltres from Stealth Rock damage, which otherwise severely limits its longevity" (you can use this exact wording or say something similar) is better because it correctly emphasizes that Moltres's ability to wall the physical attackers you mentioned above is heavily compromised if it's losing nearly 50% of its HP switching in. This also segues nicely into the second paragraph; I'll highlight that when we get there. Tera Fairy is a solid defensive type which gives a Dark resistance while keeping Moltres' natural Fighting resistance which maintains its positive matchup versus Zamazenta. This lets Moltres check things like Weavile and Kingambit in a pinch, and allows Moltres to get critical burns off on targets such as Ogerpon-Wellspring. Tera Water flips Moltres' weakness to water into a resistance, giving it an easier rain matchup as well as taking various hits like Hydro Steam from Walking Wake Definitely add mention of Ogerpon-W's Ivy Cudgel, Volcanion's Hydro Steam, or Primarina's Water-type attacks here; expanding on Primarina a little, you don't beat it in the slightest, but Tera Water can let Moltres live a Surf/Pump/Liquid Voice Psychic Noise in a pinch and Roar out a CM variant, which can save a game.. Alternate Teras such as Dragon and Grass grants positive matchups into Ogerpon-Wellspring. Tera allows Moltres to ease its weakness to Knock-Off as well as hazards, not having to fear huge chip damage from them.

Corviknight and offensive threats like Ogerpon-Teal the mono-Grass one is just "Ogerpon"; I completely get why you did this since you mention Wellspring right afterwards (this stuff always throws me off in writing LMAO), but once this is uploaded just calling it Ogerpon will automatically link to its OU Dex page, where it's just called Ogerpon. and Dragapult can check Ogerpon-Wellspring, either helping taking attacks or revenge killing/cripping or crippling it with status. Ground Types like Clodsire and Ting-Lu are able to cover Moltres' weakness to Electric-types un-bold this as well like Raging Bolt and Zapdos, as well as providing Hazards which gives Moltres' phasing more of a threat. Great Tusk gives Moltres Rapid Spin support in case it looses its Heavy-Duty Boots.

Mention Knock Off absorbers somewhere in this paragraph, particularly on bulky teams. kd458 mentioned Gliscor as a particularly excellent teammate; Gliscor itself can use Knock Off to remove opposing Heavy-Duty Boots, which makes Roar variants of Moltres much more threatening when supported by Gliscor's own Spikes. It shouldn't be included with the other Ground-types like Ting-Lu, Clod, etc. because Gliscor has a considerably worse matchup into Bolt and Zapdos, so it should be its own thing IMO.
