RMT:MOM it's SNOWING!

Introduction
Hi there Smogon! I'm a new user here so if i break any of the rules in the post please allow me to fix the post :D ,a few days ago i thought of making a Hail Team,After seeing the majority of Scarfed Pokemon like Terrakion in an OU battle, This team was made to counter these fast pokemon to wall them and take them out. HAIL RULES!

The team in a Nutshell

Why use a Hail team a ______ Team is better!
I use hail for the fact that Hail only affects non ice types and pokemon with abilities that prevent damage from hail which consists nearly all of my team.
The team in Depth

460Abomasnow.png

Blizz (Abomasnow) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 Atk / 144 SAtk / 112 Spd
Lonely Nature
- Blizzard
- Ice Shard
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Wood Hammer

My wonderful Fake lead , I'm using an offensive Abomasnow set which handles pokemon that Shells has already picked on. With Blizzard being at 100% accuracy why ignore it? so now i have a STAB move on Blizz, Ice shard is used for faster pokemon which threaten to kill Blizz, HP-Fire is used to battle most bug types which try to set up like Ninjask,Wood hammer is another Strong STAB Used for hitting Water types,Rock types and Ground types HARD.The EV split allows Abomasnow to survive 1 or 2 attacks and counter with a blizzard or wood hammer.

073Tentacruel.png

The Kraken (Tentacruel) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spd
Bold Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Protect

Toxic makes it hard for the opponent to come in unless it's a Steel type because the opposing pokemon would be poisoned for the remainder of the match unless they somehow heal themselves. The Kraken also packs Scald to Hit Fire type pokemon Hard while also on occasion BURNING them, He also has Rapid spin to Clear hazards while setting up Toxic spikes or Burning with Scald. I choose Liquid ooze over rain dish since Blizz can cancel rain out with it's ability while this ability also helps in battling Drain punchers like Toxicroak and Conkeldurr.

20091223220735!381Latios.png

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Roost

The Team's Secondary sweeper who takes out or Greatly weakens the opponent's pokemon with STAB attacks. But Latios must be Alert as certain pokemon can trap him with Pursuit and swiftly take him out with a Dark type move like Sucker Punch. He boasts Roost to heal himself after sustaining much Damage. He has a Life orb to boost the power of his attacks but with a 10% cost in Life but this can be reattained with the aforementioned Roost but the slightest Mistake can end Latios' life sooner than expected.

485Heatran.png

Heatr' (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SDef / 8 Spd
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Toxic

Heat'r is the Wall of the team who sets up SR then Poisons with Toxic. Lava plume is a Moderately powerful STAB attack added so he doesn't fall victim to taunt. with Flash fire he can switch in on incoming Fire type attacks that were going to hit Blizz and take advantage of it. With Protect he can let toxic damage the opposing pokemon for one more turn(Often used to annoy pokemon like Volcarona who switch in to SR and then get Poisoned). The EV yield helps Heat'r to Wall incoming pokemon while Poisoning them.
473Mamoswine.png

Swiney (Mamoswine) @ Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Superpower
- Icicle Crash

I'm using a Offensive Mamoswine here which can take 1 of the opponents pokemon down if they don't resist it's moves. Earthquake is useful when countering Fire / Steel / Rock types who try to check the ice types on my team it is also a nice STAB attack which hits all but Water,Grass and Flying HARD. Icicle crash is used for hitting common Ground / Flying / Dragon / Grass type pokemon harder than any move Swiney has.The EV split is used to allow Swiney to hit Opponents with STAB attacks coming off a high attack stat.

310px-646Kyurem-Black2.png

Kyurem (Kyurem-Black) @ Leftovers
Trait: Teravolt
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SAtk
Brave Nature
- Fusion Bolt
- Roost
- Blizzard
- Outrage

Ah the Big Black Dragon pokemon which is also The main late game sweeper used in Demolishing teams who have less than 4 pokemon left, No wonder an Evil old man used it trying to take over the world. With it's STAB Blizzards and STAB Outrages it can spell the doom for weakened pokemon (even steel types who resist both STABs). Kyurem can revenge kill most pokemon using with this set although I've thought of Hone Claws - Dragon Tail but the lack in power is bad.The EV yield helps Make the Sweep happen.

Hey, I've got a couple of suggestions that I think could help out your team as a fellow hail user. I really like using OTR Reuniclus with hail, it has great synergy as it doesn't take residual damage and messes with the fighting types that are big threats to your team. However I don't think the use of Trick Room on Reuniclus justifies handicapping the speed of the rest of your pokemon - you only have one TR setter and the rest of your pokemon are generally too fast to be used in Trick Room anyway. OTR Reuniclus is meant to be stand-alone and is often used on faster teams, so I wouldn't dedicate your whole team to Trick Room. With that in mind, I suggest switching your EV spreads to more standard ones that increase speed and pumping up the Speed IV of the rest of your pokemon.

As far as type synergy goes, you have the typical hail team problem of being quite weak to strong Fighting and Steel type users, as you noted. Your inclusion of Reuniclus and Intimidate Gyarados are both good ideas to help with this but it isn't enough right now. I'd suggest changing your Cloyster for a spinner that works better with hail and doesn't increase your Fighting or Steel weaknesses - either Forretress or Tentacruel would be good choices, or Starmie if you prefer something more offensive. Finally if you're using offensive Abomasnow you might want a more offensive item, personally I use Expert Belt and EQ > Blizzard but that's more of a personal choice. Good luck!

Hey there, cool team you have.

This is a real interesting Hail team, with a great use of a very common threat in the OU metagame, in the forme of Kyurem-B. There are some very common threats that this team has however, and hopefully this rate can fix them up a bit, and hopefully even improve this team. With all that said, let's get to my rate. As I said before, you are weak to common threats in the OU meta, expecially Life Orb Volcarona. If opposing Volcarona are carrying Hidden Power Rock, it can flat out 6 - 0 your team, as Cloyster, Abomasnow, and Mamoswine are decimated by Fire Blast, Gyarados and Kyurem-B are 2HKO'd by Hidden Power Rock, and Reuniclus is taken out by Bug Buzz. To help remedy this situation, I would recommend running a Special Defensive Heatran over your current Reuniclus. With a Specially Defensive Heatran, you are able to keep opposing Volcarona in check, gives you a solid sun check, and also gives you an excellent Stealth Rock setter. Up next, I would like to recommend running a Starmie in place of your current Cloyster. With decent defenses, a solid Water / Psychic typing, access to Recover, and a great ability in Natural Cure, Starmie is an excellent choice for a Hail team like this one. Now onto some smaller things. On Abomasnow, you should run 112 Speed EV's. With these Speed EV's, Abomasnow is allowed to outspeed such threats such as Standard Skarmory, defensive Tyranitar and Politoed, Choice Band Scizor and the pink blobs, Chansey and Blissey. Moving on, you should be using a Life Orb and run a spread of 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe over your current item and spread. With Life Orb and the aftermentioned EV spread, Mamoswine becomes an excellent Physical Attacker. Staying on Mamoswine, you should run Superpower and Icicle Crash over your current choices of Endeavor and Stealth Rock. With Superpower, you are able to get past a tough enemy in Ferrothorn, while Icicle Crash allows you to OHKO Dragonite with Multiscale intact, while also hitting other Dragons for huge damage. Finally, run a Jolly Nature in order to outspeed and KO Adamant Lucario and Timid Heatran. I hope that my advice helped. Have fun and good luck in your future endeavours!

Hey neat team,

First of all You should make Reuniclus Quiet nature with 192 Hp/ 64 Def/ 252 Spatk, the standard set, Quiet is really needed over Sassy because Reuniclus only has a few turns to wreck havoc on the opposing team so you need all the power you can get, you should also have Shadow Ball>Recover since recovering in Trick Room is just a waste of a turn and Reuniclus will appreciate the coverage.

Also, you have 3 pokemon weak to stealth rock (4 if you count Cloyster), one being a very important member in Abomansnow, You do have a rapid spinner but Cloyster is there to try and do damage then die so the opponent will be able to get stealth rocks up anyways. Because of this you should put Tentacruel>Cloyster, Tentacruel is a more reliable spinner and serves as another answer against rain teams, it also helps vs. fighting and fire attacks. I hope I helped! Here's Tenta's set:

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Trait: Liquid Ooze / Rain Dish
252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
-Toxic Spikes
-Scald
-Rapid Spin
-Protect

The choice between Rain Dish and Liquid Ooze depends on if you want some recovery in rain or to take on Conkeldurr better.

Cool! A hail team :) Though your team is very neat, it does need some more stuff to it. First off, despite the trick room thing and you not wanting a anything fast for trick room purposes, you might want to run a choice scarf Infernape. I noticed that only only reuniclus has TR so not having anything fast if Cell happens to get pursuit trapped or some other method. With infernapes very handy hitting steel types, rock types, grass (not a big deal with hail) just to name a few. Being able to eliminate steel types can help your kyu-B sweep with the presence of Infernape awaiting to help kyu-b

I replaced Cloyster with Tentacruel and added Heatran while replacing Cell and tested the team and it worked well! although not having a psychic type to deal with the fighting types is pretty hard for the fact that i can only hope to poison them and hit them with STAB attacks from Tentacruel and heatran.

poison heal gliscor > gyarados
reliable fighting counter / status absorber/ physical wall
makes a great aboma/tenta/heat/scor defensive core (abomasnow does not need to be defensive, as the other 3 support him)

sorry for no full rate, on my phone ;) gl

Hi Chandel

Solid hail team you have here. it's really nice to see people using Hail as it is the most under-appreciated weather but can still be very effective in the current metagame. Looking at your team, one of the major threats to it is Terrakion. Terrakion can outspeed your entire team and OHKO a large portion of your team (Abomasnow, Heatran, Mamoswine, Kyurem-B) with Close Combat and hit Gyarados and Tentacruel extremely hard with Stone Edge. The only Pokemon you have to switch into Terrakion is Tentacruel who is 2HKO'ed by Choice Band Stone Edge. Breloom is also a threat to your team as Technician Mach Punch can pick off your 4 Fighting weak Pokemon and Tentacruel and Gyarados can't take Bullet Seeds comfortably. For these threats, I suggest trying out a Life Orb Latios with a moveset of Draco Meteor / Psyshock / Surf / Roost in place of Gyarados. Latios provides your team with some much needed Speed, giving you an option that can outspeed both of the aforementioned threats and take them out with Psyshock. He also provides a nice check to some of the threats on Rain teams such as Politoed, Keldeo, and Celebi that could give you trouble otherwise. Draco Meteor is an extremely devastating move especially with the boost from Life Orb, Surf provides coverage against things like Heatran, and Roost helps to heal HP lost from Life Orb recoil and hail damage.

On Tentacruel, try Toxic over Toxic Spikes. Toxic Spikes isn't great in the current OU metagame with the number of Pokemon that are immune to them including Flying types, Steels, and Levitators. You also don't have a Ghost type to block Rapid Spin so it will be hard to keep your Toxic Spikes up on the field. Toxic is nice to hit things such as Latios, Latias, and Keldeo who otherwise can do whatever they wish in front of Tentacruel. On Kyurem-B, try out Dragon Claw over Outrage. Since you are not using a Choice set, you have the freedom to change up your moves so it will help to not have to be locked into Outrage. There is a pretty significant drop in power but the ability to change moves and be able to switch out and not be forced to lose your Kyurem-B when you go for Outrage is beneficial.

Hope I helped and good luck with your team!

Set:
Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Roost

tl;dr
Gyarados ----> Life Orb Latios
Toxic Spikes on Tentacruel ----> Toxic
Outrage on Kyurem-B ----> Dragon Claw

Bump!

Testing Latios out these past few days against Rain teams and won out
6-3. I tried it on a Sun team and it managed to take out Ninetales with a single Psyshock then proceeded to sweep the team after getting Blizz out.
