Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 244 SpD / 16 Spe
Calm Nature
- Defog / Substitute
- Roost
- Discharge
- Toxic / Heat Wave

Zapdos teams up with Skarmory to form the SkarmDos core, an awesome defensive core that is found on many Flying teams thanks to having a defensive core to fall back on when the going gets tough. Skarmory is the physical wall, Zapdos is the special wall. Zapdos is also a nice Defogger, although Substitute can be used if you have another Defogger, and SubToxic Zapdos can mean trouble for many teams. Overall, a really awesome partner for Skarmory as they make a nice defensive core with each other.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Knock Off/Smack Down

Landorus I is not really used much in Flying monotype at the moment, and when it is used, it is rocking a Scarf or Banded set. This is a set that I used much in the XY flying monotype meta game and I've found room to add it on a Flying team in ORAS. Defensive Landorus-T mainly helps out Skarmory in taking attacks it would not normally want to deal with thanks to Intimidate, such as Medicham Mega's High Jump Kick(then it can go right back into Skarmory on the Ice Punch and deal with it better.) It also can act as a hard switch from Landorus to Skarmory so Skarmory can tank physical hits better thanks to Intimidate. It's access to rocks saves Skarmory of adding rocks, and can be replaced with another utility move to benefit Flying such as Defog, or Spikes. Personally if I run Defensive Landorus-T I'd use Spikes Skarm for Hazard Stack to rack up more damage. It also act's as a good pivot to help get initiative for flying thanks to U-Turn, which you can go into a Pokemon to match up the opposing pokemon such as a wall breaker, Defensive mon etc. With last move being Knock off, it's mainly for utility to remove annoying items against Mons such as Leftovers, Eviolites, and things of that nature. Smack Down is mainly to hit levitating mons since they become normal Pokemon on the ground, which can be finished with an EQ. Defensive Landorus' to me would be an "Extra Flying defensive pokemon with no recovery."

Gliscor

Sets: http://pastebin.com/i9FE7WtY

Basically, Gliscor and Skarmory are compatible with one another and work to form a defensive team. Skarmorys is electric and fire, where as Gliscor resists them. The hazards from Skarmory can help weaken opponents and once u get off a swords dance from gliscor, it can help clean up. With team mates such as Togekiss and Zapdos for Special defensive support, this core is amazing!

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Roost
Mega Charizard Y is an amazing teammate for skarmory since skarmory gives Charizard what it wants the most, hazard removal. Also, the two can easily overpower unfavorable matchups. Also, skarmory can set up the teams own hazards, enabling Charizard to score some 0hkoes and 2hkoes.

How about a throwback to some of the XY flying teams?

Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Grass Knot
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt / HP Ice / Sludge Bomb / (this thing has so many good coverage options)

Skarmory (and Zapdos) win the hazard war for the team and this guy serves as a way to generate momentum or clean a weakened team. It also doubles as an electric immunity in a pinch.
