Ubers Monotype Ubers

Boomp's Personal VR

Hi, I made a VR for Mono Ubers due to me seeing people not really knowing whats good for the type; This also makes it harder for people to pick up the OM and build teams on their own. Which results in people just utilizing their regular SV teams which either A. Puts them in a bad disadvantage and B. Makes them not have a great time / enjoyment of playing the metagame. At the end building comes down to meta knowledge and understanding the type matchups. But a nice cheat code is seeing a dope VR which helps beginners. Enjoy!

Alright so I've mainly played a very weather abusing Ground/Water builds, and Normal so here are my thoughts.
:Blissey: B -> A
This is Normal's best rock setter and its definitive special wall. Genuinely a must bring in my opinion because it just invalidates so many special attackers. TWave is also nice for speed control.
:Ursaluna-Bloodmoon: S -> A
Its good, but a lot of the times I find I don't really need it to be a breaker to the point where I just stopped running it and honestly my team felt better for it in a lot of matchups.
:Cyclizar: S -> A
While Shedtail is super nice to have, its not a mandatory element to make normal work and if they manage to check your breakers/remove them then Cyclizar kind of just becomes a nothing burger.
:Landorus-Therian: C -> A
My personal hot take is this is actually the better Landorus forme. Sandy Shocks pairs super well with Groudon sun making Landorus a bit less required as a special breaker and with intimidate and actually solid physical defense Lando-T can often get gravity up and pivot in its breakers while also checking a ton of physical attackers.
:Landorus: S -> A
Read above.
:Sandy Shocks: B -> A
Pairs really well with Groudon and is a solid breaker. Notably, thanks to Groudon its often going to be outspeeding a lot of threats and with Specs it just hits like a truck.
:Ursaluna-Bloodmoon: S -> A
I get it, but at the same time its low speed can be a huge determent and while its a beast of a breaker, I honestly think Arceus-G might be better as a CM setup threat thanks to its superior speed and bulk. Bloona is better short term though.
:Hippowdon: :Excadrill: B -> D
You're fighting with Groudon Sun to make these work. Effectively to run Hippo and Exca is to run Sand and I don't think running Sand is as valuable as running Sun as you can often handle most of the proto mons anyway along with it being nice and stuffing over Water-types.
:Barraskewda: UR -> C
As your only Swift Swim user worthwhile in ubers which might be important on the rain type. I think its got a use. Outspeeding the entire metagame in Rain is just super nice and while its damage isn't bonkers, its just enough to keep up.
:Palkia: UR -> D
I honestly like Palkia as a Choice Scarf threat and I think its got a niche over Palkia-O because of it. Palkia-O is generally going to be better but Palkia is fine.
:Dondozo: B -> C
A lot of this tier is just very heavy button mashing to watch stuff break and Dondozo doesn't help much to check that. It is nice to have for EKiller formes but thats the main thing it serves.
Other Misc stuff:
:Salazzle: C -> D (Poison)
It dies to a light breeze so at most your trading corrosion toxic on a mon for a dead lazzle, not a particularly great trade in my opinion.
:Iron Valiant: A -> S (Fighting)
Still just the best special attacker this type has access to.

Also boomp, is Gliscor an A or B tier flying mon?

walking wake is in C and D for dragon
also bisharp rated for steel when kingambit is in the tier, whereas base palkia isn't rated for water, even though presumably it would be if palkia origin wasn't in the tier

Ok lets get it

Blissey: As i get what your saying, I personally think shedtail normal is just the go to / best way to abuse normal in this metagame. Like Blissey is good against special oriented comps but overall even those comps have ways around Blissey. I also just think blissey (as i experience playing normal in tours) easily get bullied out + feeling like its dead weight most of the time. Balance Normal is pretty meh in this metagame and really misses the pivoting Blissey provided in the past. Overall its a really poor momentum sink.

Bear: Just a strong bulky bear where is just a must have on both balance and Shedtail builds. Not only just a great breaker, but consistent recovery + access to priority to doink the likes a chien-pao is really appreciated. Rather your running 3a+recovery or the standard CM 2a. its always accomplishing its role.

Cyclizar: This is fine

Lando formes: valid

Bear for Ground: basically same shit i said about it on normal is the same on ground. it also just pairs nicely with groundon sun via getting more recovery with moonlight. I also like how it can just revenge kill Chien-Pao or if all hell break loose running a weakness berry for different mus is solid.

Hippo + drill: sure

barraskewda: as i look back at the water vr. The only swift swim user you really need is honestly Kingdra as it can combat Dragon threats that Kyogre cannot.

Dondozo: Water stall is still a dope playstyle in ubers especially

Palkia: i honestly looked over it and forgot

Salazzle: ya

Iron Valiant: Ya

Also boomp, is Gliscor an A or B tier flying mon?: Its A i was torn between what i wanted it to be at the start of making it, but i decided on A.

walking wake is in C and D for dragon
also bisharp rated for steel when kingambit is in the tier, whereas base palkia isn't rated for water, even though presumably it would be if palkia origin wasn't in the tier
Again i was half asleep doing this, i dunno why i put bisharp there. I also just think base palkia is just shit on water but yall advocate for it so its on it now

Arceus Water B > A It is one of the only things stopping a boosted kyurem black from 6-0ing you
yup yup

Thank yall for inputs <3

Alright here is a team for Mono Ubers I have for Mono Dark.
https://pokepast.es/38987f5d86148736
:ting Lu: :sableye: :meowscarada: :Greninja: :moltres-galar: :Kingambit:

What this team is about
This team is mainly concentrated on spreading hazards as much as we can and trying to do well vs our super effective MUs (Bug, Fighting and Fairy) with screens. With one screen setter, one hazard stacker, two choiced mons and two set up mons.

Explaining how this team works
:Ting Lu: Ting Lu
:sv/ting-lu:

This Pokemon is the best hazard spreader by default thanks to it's amazing bulk. Note the fact that it is mainly an Anti-Fairy or more like Anti-Zacian Pokemon. Thank God Zacian-Crowned is banned but not Zacian. and Mono Fairy teams do run RIbombee + Zacian pair which can sweep us (Maybe Kingambit takes a hit). So we run Roseli Berry to talk half damage from those Play Rough and immediately use Whirlwind on them. By this, we get rid of Intrepid Sword from being boosted. Live a Fairy move and hit back with Heavy Slam on idiots like Flutter Mane (easy OHKO), Hatterene (2HKO but you win) and Iron Valiant (2HKO, 50/50 winrate, maybe OHKO after hazards)

:Sableye: Sableye
:SV/sableye:

Every Mono dark team would run a bulky sableye with will o wisp, recover, knock off and encore if they include it. Here, we made it different. We got screens here paired with encore and will o wisp. It is mainly to use will o wisp on dangerous physical attackers and to make Moltres-Galar and Kingambit to work better. It also gets a Fighting and Normal immunity which means it is an easy Fighting move switch-in and also a spin blocker.

:Meowscarada: Meowscarada
:SV/meowscarada:

Everyone runs Choice Scarf Meowscarada because of the speed and I understand that, but Choice Band Meowscarada is a treasure imo. You are able to 2HKO Skarmory and Corviknight (a good chip) with Thunder Punch. Flower Trick OHKOs Ogerpon-W and Excadrill. Knock Off also hits hard on some mons. Triple Axel is also good vs Dragon (out of Archaludon) and OHKOs Ogerpon-H which also is vital. It also can combat well with Water stall considering you have both Flower Trick and Thunder Punch.

:Greninja: Greninja
:SV/Greninja:

Since Meowscarada has Choice Band, Greninja has Choice Scarf. I planned having Chien Pao as the scarfer. In fact, it was in the team previously. Later I found some bulky pokemon from each team being annoying by their bulk and Fairy type pokemon being problematic so I gave this Pokemon Switcheroo. Scarf lets us out speed speed-boosted quark drive iron Valiant and we can beat it with sludge wave at the first place. You can then use Switcheroo on annoying Pokemon like Toxapex, Corviknight, Skarmory, Alomomola, Gliscor, Fat Volcarona, etc. And Greninja, as mentioned above gets Switcheroo where Chien Pao does not.

:Moltres-Galar: Moltres-Galar
:SV/Moltres-galar:

This Pokemon is what saves you from Bug and FIghting teams. Here, if you successfully set up with Moltres-Galar with the help provided by Sableye, you win Bug ggs. But on Fighting, there are Pokemon like Iron Hands and Zamazenta-Crowned who can live many Air Slash thanks to their bulk. So the plan is that you can try tricking scarf on Iron Hands and for Zamazenta-C, just switch to Sableye and do your thing.

:Kingambit: Kingambit
Sableye fainted, Ting Lu fainted, Meowscarada fainted, Greninja fainted, Moltres-Galar fainted.............

Kingambit joins the chat

:SV/Kingambit:

Kingambit's Supreme Overlord!

Yeah this guy is my favourite Pokemon and has a use in reversing sweeping teams. It destroys a lot of bulky Pokemon and it is an amazing wall breaker. This is the Pokemon who can do well on your Bug and Fairy MUs. Each move from this guy hits so hard at +2 Fallen: 5 + Black Glasses. Black Glasses is to further increase the power of Sucker Punch. It is easily a better Bisharp with its higher power and defense. Along with Meowscarada, Kingambit also aids in to break stall. With screens provided by Sableye and if the opponent is a physical attacker and is burned, Kingambit easily makes a Swords Dance or two and can further head to destroy the opponent. Be careful and aware of Pokemon who tries to use will o wisp or trick/switcheroo on Kingambit and aim at beating those with other pokemon first.

Replays:-
I will try gathering replays from tours asap.
