Oh cool nice to have a weekly podcast to listen to. Whoever streams like the high end matches should take cues from hosts in things like Smash bros tournaments, basically be overly excited

Anyways its nice to hear your opinions, I feel they are presented well and look forward to hear how they will change over the course of this big tournament

So my team has been eliminated and I thought it was a very great season and we had great team chemistry despite starting of 0-2-1 we clawed our way back to almost grabbing last playoff spot like 2016-2017 Miami Heat.
I wanted to give a quick individual shoutout to everyone on my team and give my brief thoughts on WCCP
Ridley Was really nice to co manage with you. I was very happy to have to opportunity and get insight to how you approach every battle was just amazing.
Jyph Was really fun seeing your BW builds and it gave me a new perspective on how to build certain types that I would have never had.
Catalystic Was really cool seeing some AAA builds even though I didn't know much about the metagame and I think I learned a bit about AAA by watching your games and seeing your builds
Pak Was really cool to be on same team as you and watch your games gave me motivation to play USUM although it isn't my favorite Monotype metagame.
SirSkit I know Monothreat isn't your favorite metagame at the moment and you wanted to play ORAS (I really wanted to see you play ORAS too), but thank you for playing threat for us if you didn't play threat we would have been screwed.
Megazard I got some insight on how to build AAA that I never had before and I really appreciate it and hope to work with you in a future team tour.
Balto I know it was really hard to stay motivated at times, but thank you for always being ready to play even if you got haxed which was unfortunate. I hope you get back into Monotype like you used to be so we can have a competitive bo3.
kaori It was really cool to see you play Monotype and exhibition and see some cool builds. Really wanted to see some new builds that you've made for the tournament since a lot of them from exhibition have a lot of interesting concepts that I want to try for myself.
Sae Really loved watching you build STAB mons even though I have limited knowledge of the metagame. It was really cool seeing someone build for a metagame that I was unfamiliar with.
Jase The World I was really glad you got a chance to play since I wanted to give everyone at least a chance to play. I would love to see you play in other tours since I didn't get to see much and I am very excited.
miltankmilk I know you were busy but thanks for sticking around and letting us know about your situation. I really hope you decide to play in Monotype team tour again sometimes since I want to see you play USUM Monotype.
Brisked I really appericated your insight into most of our oppoents and it was very helpful to have someone else who was ultra motivated helping us with our builds. I really hope you can participate in a Monotype team tournament sometime in the distant future since you deserve to
Ticken Thanks for helping Skit every week with his threat builds thanks for all your help even though we weren't on the same team.
Zukushiku I know you've been busy but thanks for helping us in the earlier weeks and would love for you to come back for a Monotype team tournament.
My thoughts on Mono WCCP
Overall I thought Monotype WCCP was an experiment to see if Monotype could support a region based tournament with its playerbase which it could to a certain extent. However, I found the combo based format of MWP and MPL to not be as successful as I initially anticipated it would be. I felt like I wasn't really anticipating the WCCP matches as much I would anticipate an MPL or MWP match which was strange to me. I found the BW matches to not be very enjoyable to watch since not every teams had a BW Monotype player which in turn led to some very low quality games. I also felt some of better players were burnt out due to MWP being so close and attracting a similar playerbase. I also felt like in most cases OM matches in MWP typically were more enjoyable to watch while past gens matches in MPL were more enjoyable to watch probably due to the extra motivation. This could be attributed to the fact that there's no 3k random player that surprises or idea of overpay or wasted 1st round picks which adds pressure on to the players giving the much needed drama that some people thrive under while other fall victim to that WCCP doesn't have.

Personally I found myself enjoying BLT matches more than WCCP matches just because majority of the players in BLT are very motivated wanting to show of their skills to hopefully get drafted into MPL. Sure some of players aren't the best of the best, but all of them put forth their best effort which I didn't always see in WCCP mainly because WCCP and MWP are very close. I feel there is no way to force Monotype WCCP players to become motivated since it is on the individuals themselves.

I would love for Monotype to either replace WCCP with a mini forum tour based around regions so that it would be more inclusive and be more tailored towards the Monotype community which I felt WCCP wasn't necessarily since many teams decided to pick people outside of the community for their own reasons which is understandable. However, I feel a Monotype team tour has failed if it doesn't heavily appeal to the main playerbase which I felt WCCP failed to do. I hope there are other solutions to the burn out problem and the tendency of picking people from outside the community.

I would love for everyone to share their thoughts on WCCP whether they enjoyed it, hated it, or are indifferent about it. Good luck to all of the playoff teams and I look forward to watching the semi finals and finals matches.

I would like to give my sincerest thanks to everyone on West for allowing me to stick with Monothreat the whole way through even after my 1-2 start. Many of us are typically managers or assistants of various teams so for most of us, it was our first time actually competing and assisting one another. We may have lost, but I know for myself personally I have a deeper respect for other West coastians and I hope it's mutual. As we didn't win, I don't think we are worthy of individual shoutouts but I am sure all the roles are apparent enough.

On a more personal note, I am satisfied with my 5-2 performance, even if it should be 6-1 since I got click happy vs Kevin which was deserved. I would like to thank Kev and roman for testing and asking questions throughout to help me solidify my understanding of the current metagame. I am still unsure if I will compete again as my schedule is consistently getting busier but even if I do, I will still be around to manage or cheer others on because I feel having someone who believes in you is half the fight. Thanks to all the various people who did matchup predictions and gave me the edge because you helped keep me motivated enough to spend hours of prep for my matches n_n rather than on school work.

I agree that having three Mono Team Tours is a little too much especially considering how similar this tour was to MWP with the OMs in the lineup. I know for Monothreat at least, it is not easy coming up with original ideas for teams so soon after a major team tour with Monothreat in the lineup finished but I still thought it was neat to see how the Monothreat meta adjusted. Minimizing the size, as vid referred to, is what I feel would be the best CoA as it won't be as serious, draining, and would still be a fun offseason event. Just a discussion for another time, however.

Congrats to all those who clinched playoffs! Definitely well-deserved. And for the rest, I will see you all in MPL V, the final major Monotype Team Tour of USUM!

With Asia out of the tour, I would like to thank each and everyone of my teammate for doing their best and putting in good effort every week. I enjoyed my time in Team Asia as it was filled with players who wanted to do their best every week.
dhaarma thank you for having me on team Asia, you did a splendid job as a manager in my opinion. I hope we can get to play together in more future team tours! Oh btw I will still eat vada separately from sambhar :bloblul:
Izaya You already had a good impression on me as I used to talk to you a lot when you were voice in Monotype room. You are a solid player as it was evident in all the test battles we did. Always enjoyed battling and teambuilding with you, I hope you find more time to play mons. All the best for your exams.

terrors Goaterrors, this is the first time we both are in a team tour together and I would say you did whatever you could to win even though it was obvious you were busy with irl things. Thank you for being on the team. oh and I always loved you and Izaya going on a banter against each other.

Vodoom You already have shown solid potential to be a great player and I'd just say keep playing the way you are playing now and you will go very far in tournaments. All the best!

Endal This is the first time I got to play alongside you and got to know you too. You always have a surprising twist in your teams which is something I really enjoy as I like to see teams that have a surprise factor. Every week you did your best with preparation. Having you on team Asia, made the team even better :p Hoping to team up once again in the future with you.

Sylveon. You are certainly one of the best OM players. it was a great sight to see you enthusiastically helping players on the team, whether it be with tests, teambuilding or advice, you were there always. Thank you for putting in so much efforts for the team and ye you have come a long way since we last spoke on smog convo :blobnom:

trace Xiri Arifeen The Immortal Arushi we all barely had a personal interaction since we all were busy with our slots and preparation, I hope we all get to know each other better in the future, Thank you and all the best for whatever you guys do.

so am I missing someone? oh yeah haha GotCookies, I cannot thank you enough for the amount of help you have provided to team Asia with test battles or helping with teams for OMs even though you were not officially part of team Asia, you were no less than an actual member of the team. Your active presence in the chat was full of positive energy and entertaining. I will still hit you up with battles on PS and pm you with my random alts. Really enjoyed having you present for team Asia.
We did well :psyglad:
