More Introvert or Extravert?

http://www.answers.com/topic/introvert-and-extravert

Basically introverts are quiet and keep to themselves more often than extraverts who are vocal and social. So which are you more?

I'm definitely more introvert. In public, I always keep to myself and on subject, but at home, most of the time I'm a more loud and obnoxious extrovert than some people at my school even. However, I do above all prefer keeping to myself.

There's nothing wrong with either, though, so tell us which you are most of the time, or more accurately perhaps, what are you more characterized as being?

Well, normally in public I'm introversial, but as soon as I come into contact with ANY of my friends, I become loud, obnoxious etc. :S

I'm about as introverted as you can get. I barely speak at all during the day, much less talk to anyone else. I also talk to myself frequently.

In fact, I type here more often than I talk on a daily basis!

Heh, wow I was thinking of making a topic on this but I never got around to this, so I'm glad it came up sooner or later.

Basically, I'm unbelievably introverted, and it almost feels like it's become an actual problem now. It's become even worse in the past few months, because sometimes I even feel really uncomfortable around a lot of my friends (with the exception of my very close friends). I don't know why, I just do. I also rarely actually talk unless someone talks to me first. I guess you could say that I really enjoy listening, but not talking as much.

While I may seem like I'm perfectly fine when I post on the forums, it actually takes me a lot of time to decide whether I want to post or not. I'm pretty introverted here too, because I feel that if I post something, it's going to get shitted on by someone promptly, so I usually like to keep my opinions to myself. That doesn't mean that the people of smogon are bad, in fact, I like a lot of the people here very much, the introversion is just a big flaw in my personality.

It's also part of the reason that I haven't experienced a lot of things in my life, that people my age have experienced several times. For example, I'm turning 18 in a couple of weeks, but I've never even been in any sort of "dating" relationship with any gal.

I dunno, I guess I've gotten used to it, but it seems like I really need to tone down the introversion a little bit so it doesn't start making me miss a lot of great things. If you guys have any advice on that, it would be quite appreciated.

Just saying that I can relate... A lot. Hell, even sometimes in the Shoddy chat... Under alts. xD What I find ironic is that my introversion here is worse than in real life, lol. Outside of my friends, I'm pretty quiet. I hate to "make excuses," but I don't really like the area I live in, so a lot of what I see and hear about doesn't really help either. For the record, I don't plan on going to college nearby either.

I'm quite the extrovert myself. I tend to be very vocal about my opinions, and I get along well with pretty much everyone i meet who is not a complete dumb/ass. which is a lot of people. I do tend to be pretty quiet around my family though.

I was shy for many years, and when I first arrived at college I took a Myers-Briggs test and was an INFP (introvert, intuition, feeling, perception). College changed me in many ways and I am most definitely an extrovert now. Still NFP, though.

In the end most introverts are truly extraverts because they don't want to be shy and end up overcompensating.

A few extraverts are truly introverts because they think they are outgoing because they talk to a frew people but in the end they are realy introverts.

The remaining extraverts truly are extraverts and are pretty obnoxious to be around.

Everyone is an extravert online. ^_^

The remaining 99.9999% of society falls somewhere in the middle and is extraverted in situation "A" but introverted in situation "B". People tend to adapt to their surroundings and act accordingly.

More introvert recently. When I was a bit younger and used to do more clubs and such, I was more extravert, but that seems to have changed with time. When I'm with a certain friend I become extravert too though, so I guess a bit of both.

I'm an ENFP as well

Being with friends is what allows me to open up and say and do things. On the internet, im an Introvert however, im rarley particaping in convos in IRC and shoddy

I think many people confuse the way they behave around friends as an example of extroverted behaviour, when in reality it is quite common for introverts to form a small group of friends with whom they are very sociable.

That being said, I am an extreme introvert, which probably has more to do with misanthropy than shyness (although I was very shy when I was younger).

I don't know? I tend to form small groups of friends and not be very sociable outside them (I act like this on the Internet too...) but I have decent social skills and no shyness when it comes to voicing my opinions.

When I'm with my good friends and my parents are not around, I am fairly talkative, but I'm definitely an introvert person.
However, on the Internet, if I get really angry about something, it's a completely different story. I can't remember the last time I got so angry though.

Well, that's the norm. Nowadays, though, I find that I'm introvert around virtually everybody. This is probably because normally, I say what's on my mind, but the things that are on my mind right now aren't things I feel comfortable with sharing.

I'm rather introverted but I don't think its all due to shyness, I just am more interested in listening to other people than myself lol.

I'm kind of a split personality; I can be extraverty one day and introverty the next.

I think that whenever I act as an introvert though, it's out of pure laziness. Being an extrovert is very fun for me. ^_^

Hmm, I find myself to be extroverted pretty much all the time. I'm only quiet when I'm by myself, and sleeping.

I'm an extrovert when I'm with my friends and people and I know, but I often have problems relating to strangers and people I havn't met in a while. On the forums, it really depends on my mood. Sometimes, I rarely post, other times I post a fair bit.

I'm a major introvert and I absolutely cannot stand being in groups of people I don't know. Hell, even at school I only associate with a few people in my classes and nearly always sit alone at lunch. It's even more of a hassle at family get togethers, as I nearly always end up sitting in the corner playing DS. Makes me wonder how I'd ever manage to hold a job that required significant interaction with customers...
