Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Ugh after 5+hours of SR'ing I got no luck, so would a spread with a frame
of 80 be easy? Its a very good Impish spread.

Nice one EE, one day I'll manage that xD

So, I'm aiming for the perfect Modest Ditto, Seed 52140289, Frame 93. I've used the Seed to Time converter and decided to aim for the 12/25/2009 (Because it's Christmas! What better day to have a perfect ditto that you can name Jesus or Nazareth?) 20:00:38 slot, which happens to have a delay of 640.

Since are my results from second/delay calibration:

14 - 598
14 - 598
14 - 600
14 - 600
14 - 602
14 - 606
14 - 610
14 - 612
14 - 612

I set my sych time to 19:59:00. I reset at 20:00:24 so that i click "Continue" at 20:00:38. I switch to DPPt Egg PID on RNG Reporter and hit "Generate" with the correct seed to set up the coin flips, which happens to be T, H, H, T, T, H, H, H, T, H. I switch to app 15 and flip my coin, and don't get the right sequence. Am I right to assume that I've gotten the wrong delay, thereby giving me the wrong seed? If so, what in turn could I do to get the delay of 640, and how do I know the delay that I am currently hitting?

Thanks in advance!

Yes you got the wrong delay. You have to do something to get the right delay. If you don't mind, you can decrease the delay to one you can get like 598, and increase the year to 2051.

Besides flipping the coins, to find the delay, just catch a pokemon like normal calibration steps and put it into seed finder and it will show delay.

Instead of frantically pressing the 'a' button and trying to get an average delay, can you just try to get an exact delay each time

Like say i try for 20 seconds each time?

recent troubles hatching shiny pokemon

i posted earlier without a response so ill try explain better

i have had success in the past hatching shiny eggs using the How to Hatch a Shiny Pokémon method. i wouldnt always get an initial seed but when i did i was successful. i then got a japanses ditto made the necessary adjustments to the RNG reporter and had even better success. i fished from the Resort Area to get the required < lvl. 50 pokemon and kept my japanese ditto in the daycare. always with success.
now i rarely get an initial seed. when i do i do not hatch a shiny. i have checked and double check to make sure i am following the directions. dates are synced, 5 pokemon in party, app set to the one before happiness checker, etc and have no successful results.
what am i doing wrong. any suggestions?

Hey~

I was re-reading the OP, and I noticed this, listed under the IRNG advancement methods:

" Even numbers produce tails (Magikarp) and odd numbers produce heads (PokeBall). "

But in the RNG Reporter and the ShinyFinder, I was under the impression that H meant Magikarp and T meant the Pokeball, which is what I've been going by. Is this just a different concept and/or way of naming things? .-. Sorry if it's a nubbish question. *_*

mmmkay, so if i dont like any of my spreads for a shiny uxie, am i stuck with them?
Yes, you are.

Tails=pokeball.

Must be a mistake.

Looking for some help here guys, i tried this:
And it didnt work (For an Uxie)

1. Got my range for delays:
(Sec/Delay)
1. 13/603
2. 13/599
3. 13/607
4. 13/607
5. 13/610

2. Found a spread i liked, with a low frame:
Frame: 39
Impish, 31 / 30 / 30 / 29 / 29 / 29

3. Clicked 'generate times'

4. Picked a time:
2009 06 28 (date), 16:44:50 (time), 606 (delay)

5. Found my synchronize and reset times:
Synchronize: 16:43
Reset: 16:44:37

6. Set my DS's date to 2009 06 28 and time to 16:43

7. After 1 minute and 37 seconds had gone past (the time between the synchronize and reset time) I reset the game

8. Pressed 'A' quickly until i was at the journal (after i hit continue)

9. Since Uxie (it says) starts at frame 1, i subtracted 1 from 39 (frame for the impish spread) and got 38.

10. Since the journal flips advance the frame 2 each time you flip to one that shows a capture, i flipped 19 times.

11. I pressed 'start' and started my battle with Uxie

12. I caught Uxie, checked the IVs and they were not what i was hoping.

I think i am doing something wrong with the frame advancement. I dont really understand the journal flipping.

This is what my journal was like

(June 25: Captured _____) << >> (June 26: Started on this one)

Do i just press 'A' to flip to June 25 and then press 'B' to flip back to June 26 and repeat?

As what written on the first page...

- Opening the Journal, or having it automatically open, when there is a caught or defeated Pokémon on the first page advances the RNG by 2 seeds. There are a number of formats for the caught Pokémon text. Those listed below have been verified to advance the RNG.

'Caught a female BIDOOF.'
'Caught AZELF (LATE NIGHT).'
'UXIE was caught (DAY).'
'Defeated a male BIDOOF.'

You can go forth and back between day 25 and 26, but before you do that, make sure that the word listed above is written in the page.

Another possibility is you don't hit the correct delay, so you need repeat it until you hit the target delay.

catch a female bidoof (so that message is on the first page) and then open it and close it the appropriate amount of times?

so it can't just be a random pokemon? it has to be a female bidoof??
okay, i think im going to try again... >.<

no, any pokemon could do...

As long as there are:
-Caught a female/male ........
-Caught ..........
-...... was caught
-Defeated a .........

I give you an example:
When you load your game, the journal will automatically come out, right?? (you can open manually if the journal doesn't come out automatically)
Any page that contains Caught or defeat pokemon, will advance the frame by 2

Let say, if the first page (for example date 26) that come out contain the word "caught a male ....." ------> your frame has increased by 2 since then
Then you switch to the previous page (date 25), and the page contain "defeated a ......" ------> your frame increased again by 2

So the total frame that increase NOW is 4, keep flipping the page between 25 and 26, until you reach the frame that you want.

Remember the the starting frame from uxie is 1, and the frame that you want is 39.
SO it will be 39-1 = frame 38
because you want to know how many page flip do you need, 38 must be divided by 2 (since each page increase the frame by 2)
So the total page flip that you need is 19.

ok so since i'm trying to catch uxie, the frame starts at 1.

then ill have to advance it ___ to reach my target frame.
so i go into my backpack and open up the journal, where one of those phrases is on it. i flip back and fourth ___ times until i reach my target frame.

i then battle uxie. is that it?

Correct. Note that each flip advances the frame by two though, so both your ___ values are not the same.

*EDIT: just read your earlier post. You probably missed your target delay. I would suggest doing things in this order:

1. save on the day of your target, so the journal doesn't open when you start the game (you only need auto-journal when resetting in an "active" area, Uxie's cave is "quiet").

2. Try to hit your target time. Verify using the coin flips.

3. Assuming you hit the target, now open the journal from your bag and have a page with a capture notice appear 19 times (if it appears on the first page when the journal opens, that counts as one too)

4. Talk to Uxie and capture it.

@ agiyr: The first thing I notice is that you open the Happiness Checker before catching the test Pokemon. This is wrong, start out with the app before the Happiness Checker open, catch the test Pokemon and find your seed, then open the Happiness Checker to do your taps. Apart from that you seem to be doing everything correctly, just make sure you count the taps and flips accurately.

Thanks a lot. I'm going to test that out.

Anyway one question. How can that even matter at all?

When the Happiness Checker opens, it advances the RNG by the number of Pokemon in your party multiplied by two, this happens every time you enter or exit a building or fly anywhere with the app open as well. If you are doing any of that, you will miss your target, and even if you aren't, having it open with only five Pokemon in your party advances by 10. The taps count in RNG Reporter assumes that you open it with a party of six to advance by 12. Make sure you open it, do your taps then move to the coin flip app and don't open the Happiness Checker again.

*EDIT @ shinyrattata: your starting frame is increased by 1 for each runner (Mesprit, Cresselia etc...) currently in the game world.

but wait, what if mesprit is lurking?

There are certain factors that you need to look,

1.In the first page, it is written
- For each wandering Pokémon that is currently roaming the RNG will advanced by one upon game start. Wandering Pokémon are Mespirit, Cresselia, Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno.

Mesprit
Frame: 5
Testers: 1 (Wild Eep)

Actually the starting frame should be 5, but when it tested by "Wild Eep", it is 1 instead of 5.
So you may choose the starting frame, whether it is 1 or 5.(in my opinion, you better choose starting frame 1, because it has been tested by Wild Eep)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.
To make the wandering appear in the area you are in, you need to walk until it appear in your area, right??

Every step that you take also advances the frame. So before you start to catch wandering pokemon, I think it's better for you to understand this article first

RNG Advancement For Wild Pokémon

GRASS / WATER / CAVES (Where there are wild Pokémon)

- Straight walking advances the RNG by 1 seed per step. The RNG is advanced even if there is a repel in use.

- Each time you turn around (reverse direction) the RNG is advanced by 1 seed. The RNG is advanced even if there is a repel in use.

- Turning and walking (1 step) at the same time advances the RNG by 2 seeds. The RNG is advanced even if there is a repel in use.

- Sweet Scenting in the grass / caves advance the RNG by 7 seeds. This is includes the calls to generate the monster and the effects of the battle.

- Sweet Scenting in the water advance the RNG by 8 seeds. This is includes the calls to generate the monster and the effects of the battle.

- Random encounters advance the RNG by 1 seed, but a number of calls are made to create the Pokémon you will battle afterwards. The exact numbers for this and the following need further research.

- Battles makes a large number of RNG calls, but appear to unwind these calls after the battle to either seven or eight calls after the PID/IV generation of the Pokémon you battled.

EVERYWHERE

- 128 steps advance the RNG by a number of seeds equal to the number of Pokémon in your party.

- Wandering NPCs (Non-Player Characters) advance the RNG by 1 seed each time they move or turn. NPCs that move in a fixed pattern do not advance the RNG. All NPCs in a zone advance the RNG, even if they are not visible on the screen

- Flipping to the page in the journal where a caught or defeated Pokémon is listed advances the RNG by 2 seeds. The same message formats listed above will advance the RNG.

- Attempting to fish and getting the message 'Not even a nibble...' advances the RNG by 1 seed.

- Attempting to fish and getting the message 'The Pokémon got away...' advances the RNG as if a Pokémon had been encountered.

I might be wrong, because until now, I never tried to catch a wandering pokemon using RNG......
