I want to say monarch but it was 2 years ago
My friend said he would kick me with the power of 10000 butterflies and we had finished all our work so he my chemistry teacher and I used their mass and takeoff speed and a few other things to calculate exactly how much power a butterfly had

So out of the blue my friend texted me his calculations
when I was younger I couldn't afford a nintendo ds. Me and my friend called each other on the phone and played a game called "Pokemon Paper" Basically you get 6 pokemon and each attack does 10 points of damage. Each pokemon start with 100 HP. SE attacks did 20 hp, and not very effective damage did 5 HP. things like weather did 3 HP if say, you were hit by hail or sandstorm. You could switch/withdraw mons but you couldn't attack that turn obviously.
Basically took a ton of writing/crossing out and 1 game took about 2 hours. Won't say I didnt have a blast though.

lol i used to do this with my little brothers years ago except it was never so organized. the game began with each player picking a team of 3 of the most powerful Pokemon we could think of, then each of us would take turns attacking each other until one wins. the order was decided by the mon's base speed but since none of them knew how fast Pokemon actually are or how much damage a certain move does they'd always ask me to make a decision. eventually they realised it'd be more fun to just make up damage calcs and destroy players' entire teams with a hyper beam than to listen to me :/

Regrettably, in middle school, I used to actually try to run like the characters in Naruto. I thought I was a ninja, but so embarrassing to think back on it. v.v'

I went to the beach with people I met on Smogon to go and play Pokemon Go.
How'd that work out? Genuinely curious. I can't imagine Pokemon Go being that exciting on the beach, with the heat and the sand and all that.
They had a diversity of water pokemon and other types at this beach.
I mostly followed around and made sure no one walked into poles though because my phone died lol
Ah, I forgot that they base the pokemon spawns off actual geological mapping, IE Water types near water ect. I remember that being what was appealing to me. Unfortunately I just didn't really care much to get into the game, I thought it was a gimmick for kids but was surprised to see it being played mostly by adults.
I didn't play it again after that day, and I barely played it that day at all because who charges phones?
