Mozzila Minefield

Minefield isn't "new" - it's the nightly build of Firefox if memory serves me correctly. Stability issues and bugs galore, hence the name.

I have been using Chrome for quite some time because of its superior speed. The claim that Minefield is 10% faster than Chrome has made me interesting in testing the new browser out.

I'll update this post with my thoughts on Minefield some time tomorrow.

edit: Actually I'll hold off on downloading this for now.
 
Minefield is indeed the name for the unstable regular builds of the Mozilla tree.

About the claim that it's "much faster" than the current stable version, check out the date of that article: October 2008. The current version of Firefox is 3.5.x and this series includes TraceMonkey already, which is what the article is referring to when it mentions a speed increase.
