Another exciting announcement regarding the prize pool for what is now the most lucrative ongoing tournament on all of Smogon right now!
Thanks to the combined generosity of Kalalokki, Procrastinasian, Mirbro, 16bit, and SBPC, we now have a larger prize pool than OST. Additionally, the winner will receive a forum banner thanks to Kalalokki. The new payout structure is as follows:
1st place - $501 + custom avatar + forum banner
2nd place - $201
Semifinalists (3rd & 4th place) - $101
Quarterfinalists (5th-8th place) - $51
Total prize pool - $1108

Another exciting update about the prize pool!
The ZU community strongly believes that all communities should be treated equally regardless of how big or small their playerbase is. The Smogon community transcends individual metagames, and we should be conscious not to let friendly competition deteriorate into hostilities. There should be a place for everyone on Smogon regardless of their metagame of choice and we should all do our best to help each other. We want to use our newfound spotlight to help uplift another lesser known community, and will thus be entering all tournament entrants into a giveaway for a piece of SPL XIII apparel! The Smogon apparel shop helps subsidize the prize pool for the Official Smogon Tournament, which, for the uninitiated, is the biggest tournament of the year for the burgeoning SS OU metagame. Even if you can’t enter our tournament, please consider supporting this growing community by purchasing SPL merchandise!
