My Attempt to Make Team

Hey there, this is xxDglxx, Otherwise known as [TM] Trainer Black, with the first team im proud off enough to post. The entire strategy for this team is to demolish another team as soon as possible. Meaning, its an Offensive based team with slight Defensive ability.

Welp, Here we go!

---------------------------------------

229px-445Garchomp.png

Garchomp (M) @ Yache Berry
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dual Chop
- Protect
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide

Garchomp, My Little Sand Shark, What can I say about him? He enters a battle and is like. "Hi there, I see you have this idea about countering me? But you must not realize, Im Garchomp." Evs are spread so that he can hit and outspeed most pokes, with a Jolly nature to insure this. Dual Chop and Eathquake for STAB bonus, while Crunch Rock Slide is just for coverage sake. Substitute is just for a break for him, tho, ive been needing to replace it, so if youcan give me an idea~

130Gyarados.png

Gyarados (F) @ Wacan Berry
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 56 Atk / 140 Def / 20 SDef / 44 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Ice Fang
- Protect
- Taunt

Gyarados, Garchomps partner in-crime, with Intimidate she lowers the attack of all who gaze she meets, making garchomp less able to be hit as hard, and anyone else on the team while she is alive. Evs are spread to allow the most I can get out of her, tho I will admit I have trouble with her in that aspect. Adamant nature to get more bang for her buck. Waterfall for STAB damage, Ice Fang for Coverage. Protect for Protecting (lol). and Taunt for Trick Room teams.

193px-212Scizor.png

Scizor (F) @ Occa Berry
Trait: Technician
EVs: 100 HP / 252 Atk / 156
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Night Slash
- Protect

Scizor is another example of a enter and attempt to murder everything. with Technician, Bullet Punch and Bug Bite not only get STAB Bonus, but increased damage. Evs and Adamant nature to get him to mess he is against up. Superpower Night Slash for Coverage. Garchomps new best friend; Scizor easily picks off Weavile with Bullet Punch and forces out or deals with opposing Latios, Abomasnow, and Cresselia. In return, Garchomp and Latios can pose a deterrent to Fire-type attacks and threaten Fire-type foes with Earthquake or Rock Slide.

295px-243Raikou.png

Raijin (Raikou) @ Sitrus Berry
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Extrasensory

My Baby, This guy is the entire reason I made this team, but, He has been pushed back by the Garchomp+Gyarados Combo. Evs and nature to get as much damage allowed as fast as he can. Calm Mind to get his power up high enough to take out most that isn't made for defending specially, or resistant to it. Thunderbolt for STAB, Hidden Power for his weaknesses. Extrasensory for Coverage.

Probable Replacement due to thunderrod ability to protect Gyarados;

20101120182432%21523Zebstrika.png

Zebstrika (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Lightningrod
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Overheat
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Protect

268px-591Amoonguss.png

Amoonguss (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Effect Spore
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Spore
- Rage Powder
- Giga Drain
- Protect

The Alpha Mushroom, this girls task is too divert all attention to her so that her team can power up and take em out, or to take them out as soon as fast as can. with Spore she can make everyone sleep with its majestic might, with Focus Sash so she can at-least get one Spore off. Rage Powder to make sure that her team can be undisturbed. Giga Drain for STAB damage, and Protect is to be used in tandem with Rage Powder to just annoy her enemies.

20091221145448%21065Alakazam.png

Alakazam (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 76 HP / 240 SAtk / 192 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Taunt

Alakazam, His task is to enter a battle, then use his mind powers too make all his opponents cry in fear. Substitue too allow him to send attack after attack off. Psychic for STAB, Shadow Ball for Coverage, and Taunt for Trick Room teams.

---------------------------------------
Edit: Used Voodoo Pimp/ Pokemast649`s advise about skills, evs, and items.

I cant think that much of a Threat List, but Trick Room teams just annoy this team to no end.

I'll appreciate all comments, While I like this team, I havent been playing competitive for long, and would Love any help I can get.

Garchomp needs a Yache Berry or Protect (or both), otherwise it auto-dies to faster Ice moves.

Raikou's coverage is kinda meh, and it's walled by a lot of common stuff, particularly Latios. HP Ice would give you much better coverage without sacrificing anything unless you're really worried about Gastrodon.

With no Speed EVs, Alakazam fails to outspeed a ton of crucial stuff, so I strongly suggest reconsidering that spread.

Lets start off with your garchomp, I would suggest a yache garchomp and replace crunch with rock slide and sub with protect. As for alakazam, I think he is better off with focus sash than amoonguss. Amoonguss will be holding a coba berry or leftovers. I think raikou needs a shuca berry because most people will be using a ground attack against your raikou. And I would say replace calm mind, I don't care if it increases your stats, with protect. As for your scizor, superpower isn't really a great move, so I would suggest putting acrobatics on your scizor and replace your occa berry with flying gem (most people in Europe nationals use this kind of thing, and it goes well).

edit: you need speed evs for your alakazam otherwise it will not outspeed most pokemon. Replace hp grass with ice (unless you are worried about gastrodon).

Garchomp- Ill give him protect, that power isnt somthing im going to rick giving up.
Raikou- Atm, im thinking of replacing him, any recomendations?
Alakazam- Shall do.

Edit; What spread would you recommend for Alakazam?

Garchomp- I see your reasoning for moves, and ill do that right away.
Raikou- Okay.
Alakazam- Will do.

Edit; Scizor- I dont really like the idea of acrobatics, what else could i put in superpower`s place?

For Alakazam, I'd suggest at least enough Speed to beat the genies. And if you're replacing Raikou, but like the Electric coverage, then a Lightningrod Pokémon would make a perfect partner for Gyarados.

For the lighting rod pokemon, how about morowak, manectric, or zebstrika (or possibly rhyperior). For your alakazam's ev spread, how about 192 speed evs (it will beat the genies by one piont).

edit: scizor - how about night slash or iron head.

I dunno if Iron Head would be worthwhile on Scizor, since it's only a little stronger than Bullet Punch. But Night Slash is usable if you're worried about Chandelure.

Well, I was thinking one, but I dont exactly like the Lightingrod pokes, seeing as they seem to not be of much use too me when I used them before making this team. If the Lightingrod Zapados was released, I would use it then. But seeing as it isnt ;( And, I usually team Gyarados and Garchomp togeather, That usually works best for me. I need a better partner for Scizor to be truthful.

This is true, Chandelure is usually what kills Scizor. So ill take pokemaster649`s advise with night slash.

If you're gonna do that, though, you'll want some Speed EVs to outspeed Chandelure (124 to beat the standard Modest set) or else it'll just kill you anyway.

Overheat on zebstrika? I don't think so, you already got coverage for ground type (hp ice). How about try thunder wave, it seems pretty useful. I don't think life orb is such a good idea, instead try shuca berry. I think you need to balance things out for your zebstrika. For instance, Zebstrika is much better at attack than sp. attack. How about this kind of set:

Zebstrika item: shuca berry
trait: lighting rod
nature: naive
evs:12 hp, 120 atk, 124 sp. atk, 252 spd
moves:
Hp ice
wild charge
thunder wave
protect

Like I said, replace amoonguss's item to coba berry or leftovers. Garchomp will need a yache berry.

Baha, I forgot to edit ammonguss`s item and Garchomps item.

But yeah, I see what you mean by the Evs and Zebstrikes moves, But, He is paired with Gyarados, who`s moves are ment to cover Zebstrikes fualts.

I think you underestimate Overheat on Zebstrika. I used it on my VGC team last year and it got a lot of KOs (especially after a Lightningrod boost) and it'll just be even better this year with Metagross and Scizor so popular. Also, physical moves aren't much good if you're going to abuse Lightingrod, since it only gives a SpA boost.

Ok, I think you got a piont voodoo. I did underestimate overheat, try to put it back in xxdglxx. What set did you use for zebstrika voodoo?

What I mean is that I have them set out so that they work togeather good.

And as Voodoo says, Overheat is useful due to the sheer amount of Metagross and Scizor, if my battles on PO are anything to say too that.

I was using it mainly alongside Thundurus for Discharge spam, but since Zapdos is on every other team and a lot of people don't even know Zebstrika has Lightningrod you shouldn't have a hard time fishing for boosts regardless.

Wait, no, it wasn't exactly the same set. I ran fewer Speed EVs (220, I think?) to underspeed Thundurus and get a boost before my first attack.
