My Defence > Your Offence

Carl von Clausewitz, a Prussian soldier and military theorist, once said "The best defense is a good offense". Well, I've decided to put that to work.

My thought process as I made the team was kinda like this:

People don't exactly use this a LOT in UU, but when they do it goes to work. I love the RestTalk with Scald and Roar, full defence with max hp and the last 4 points into spdef. This thing usually lasts so darn long and really goes to work from what I've seen.

I already had it in my head before I started making the team that I wanted the team to base around bulk, and just out lasting my opponent. And when I started with Suicune using Roar I decided I'd go with Steelix who can also Roar and set up rocks, another massive defender with pretty good spdef investment and some nice HP. The next Pokemon is Tangela because Regenerator is amazing and I had it in my head that Eviolite>Tangrowth all day everyday. This dude has less base HP but the boost which Eviolite gives to the defences makes up for it in my opinion. Put something to sleep, Seed something, Drain away and use HP rock on flying threats if you wanna stay in and take a hit then flee and regenerate. I am also keeping in mind the synergy between my Pokemon as I make this team, and I think I'm doing pretty good for covering myself at the moment.

Now for some special defence, also gonna get them toxic spikes, and I will also throw in some more phazing attacks, that's two more Pokes with Whirlwind. So the rocks and the toxic spikes will catch up quickly.

So I chuck Audino is as the finishing touch with heal bell and wish passing and another regenerator, pretty epic I know. Then look over my team and realise I have 5 Pokemon which are pretty much RU/NU. And then Suicune... Forcing me into the UU tier, which for me is scary, I need at least 3 Pokemon on my team to be from a certain teir for me to actually feel safe in that tier.

Keeping in mind what I said about Suicune, I decided to take it out, so I did that and threw in a third Regenerator which was going to be used with the specially defensive set and Dragon Tail, but I just don't feel as safe using Dragon Tail as I do using things like Roar/Whirlwind because of Substitutes, so I went for the Trick Room Slowking, which leads me to my last edit. From the previous experience I've had trying to take out Cofagrigus, it's not so fun, and with one Trick Room user on the team already I decided to throw a second one on, both of them use Nasty Plot as well. Another thing that made me add Cofagrigus is that whilst I was looking at the team I couldn't help but think a Hitmonchan could take the whole team out if I was for some reason playing dumb enough. Thunderpunch on Slowking, Ice Punch on Tangela, Mach Punch/Drain punch everything else, so Cofagrigus seemed like a nice response to that.

I then made a couple of other changes after some testing, these include;

Taking Trick Room away from Cofagrigus, I did this to give Cofagrigus Will-O-Wisp because I really wanted a Poke which could make physical attackers weaker.

Taking Trick Room away from Slowking, this was because I feel no reason in only having one Trick Room user, so it gave me the chance to put a third attack on Slowking.

Replace Tangela with Tangrowth because a SubSeeder with Leftovers seems more reliable for longevity.

Hello! Nice team, seems really solid. But I was thinking: a CM Sigiliyph sort of seems like it could be a problem, if, like you said earlier with hitmonchan, you were playing stupid, and if it set up on you. But that's a small problem. You should be able to use Cofagrigus's Shadow Ball or Whirwind it. I don't really see much else in your way....
I don't think you really have to change anything around, but it's just a thought about a very slight threat.
Good luck with your team!
