My first competitive wi-fi team

Hey,

so this is my first time posting on this forum guys! and also my first team i've made, now i know its probably not that good so any advice or help is much appreciated, even change some of the pokemon, thanks! This team does have some ubers and once i get better i will hopefully be making teams with non ubers.

Also, i am planning to EV train them, however i have not yet gotten into IV training, or natures (in regards to the ubers)

Lugia - holding light clay (252 Def/ 252 sp. atk 4 sp. def EV)
Hasty nature
Reflect
Light screen
recover
psychic

Lugia will usually be my opening pokemon in both double and single battles. Lugia is my setup pokemon because with his defenses he can take a hit, especially with recover. His main purpose is not to attack, but to set up reflect and light screen to set up the rest of my pokemon to sweep without having to worry much about dmg. Which of course, is enhance by his light clay so that the barriers last longer, thus i dont have to switch back to him as much, or use light screen/reflect as much.

kyogre - leftover ( 252 def/ 252 sp. def 4 sp. atkEV)
Gentle nature
Aqua ring (wasn't sure what should be put here so i used this as a filler)
water spout
thunder
ice beam

Kyogre's main purpose is to be a sp. atk sweeper, his attacks can be devastating with STAB waterspout, killing pokemon even when its not very effective. I wasn't sure about aqua ring however it goes pretty well with leftovers to restore health every turn to keep the power of water spout up, as it gets weaker when kyogre loses health. Which is further increased by his high defenses and light screen/reflect.

Ho-oh - charti berry (252 def/252 sp. def 4 atk EV)
hasty nature
sunny day
sacred fire
solar beam
extrasensory (not a good move i no with the rest of my team, also used as a filler)

Ho-oh would be another one of my sweepers, in fact most of my team is sweepers, ho-oh main purpose it to use sunny day, which makes his sacred fire a devastating attack in the same way water spout it. On top of this, i gave him solar beam so that he can take out his weaknesses, water, rock, ground, etc. Because with sun, solar beam takes no time to charge, on top of this i gave him a charti berry so that ho-oh's x4 weakness to rock is only x2, allowing him to survive it along with light screen/reflect. However, my strategy is to try not to use ho-oh and kyogre in the same battle, and if i do find it necessary i make sure i send out ho-oh first, so that water pokemon dont benefit from kyogres drizzle, allowing them to kill ho-oh before sunny day

snorlax - chesto berry ( 252 def/252 hp 4. atk EV)
calm nature
rest
earthquake (or rockslide might be better?)
crunch
giga impact
(i believe my snorlax could use alot of set for his moveset)

I'm not quite sure about snorlax, he is rather miscellaneous pokemon in my team, however with this team i have found him to usefull as a wall, with his high hp and defenses it allows him to take the hits while my sweepers set up, i.e. lugia and barries, or ho-oh and sunny day. Also, snorlax goes well with lugia in double battles, which is really the only place i use him, because he is no the useful in single with his moveset, because he can take the hits while lugia sets up, or use his crunch to take our ghost/psychic pokemon that can kill lugia, or those pesky jolteons with earthquake. Although, i really think my snorlax needs help or to be replaced altogether.

Garchomp - life orb ( 252 atk and 252 speed 4 sp. def EV)
adamant
sword dance
dragon claw (maybe dragon rush)
stone edge
earthquake

Garchomp is the opposite of my kyogre, he is my physical sweeper, like most of my other pokemon i send him out after lugia has set up. The strategy with garchomp is to boost his attack with sword dance, 2 times if allowed, and then with his high attack sweep the team out with his diverse movset (hopefully replace earthquake or stone edge with a different move as they are similar.) Also, not only his high attack but his EV trained speed allows him to go first against the majority of the pokemon, thus allowing him to go first and usually 1 hit ko and at most 2 hit ko most pokemon with his high attack from sword dance.

electivire - magnet (252 atk and 252 speed 4 def. EV)
adamant
thunder punch
cross chop
ice punch
earthquake (i know i have alot of earthquakes so im open to lots of suggestions)

Electivire is my "utility" pokemon, i use him alot actually, because with his diverse moveset he is super effective against all types, excluding 4. His weaknesses included. He goes well with the majority of my team, because his moveset, attack and speed allow him to move before and kill most pokemon, thus allowing him to eliminate his ally's weaknesses. I rarely use him in single battle however, as he is more of a support to his ally in double battle.

Thanks, guys :) i'd really appreciate your help and ill make sure to check up on your posts and suggestions regularly

Using Sunny Day on Ho-oh seems counterproductive if you also have Kyogre on your team. Ho-oh is better off using a physical set.

Ho-oh @ Life Orb
Adamant Nature
232 HP/252 Atk/24 Spe
-Sacred Fire
-Brave Bird
-Roost
-Earthquake/Substitute

Sacred Fire + Brave Bird for two very powerful STAB attacks, Roost to heal off Stealth Rock and recoil damage, and your last slot could be either Earthquake to get coverage against stuff like TTar and Heatran that resist your STAB, or Substitute to block status and then just heal off the damage you take with Roost. I think you'll find that works a lot better.

On Kyogre, drop Aqua Ring for Surf. Once his health starts dropping to a point where Water Spout won't be dealing as much damage as you'd like, Surf will allow it to still have reliable STAB.

Giga Impact is awful, Snorlax should be using Return or Body Slam for its STAB move.

Also, be sure to work on getting the correct natures on your Pokémon, it'll help you out a lot!

Good luck!

RMT rules said:
15. As a site dedicated to competitive battling, we request that your team is as competitive as possible within its given metagame. In-game teams and gimmick teams will be closed. Battle Tower teams are permitted. "Theme Teams" are also OK as long as they demonstrate an understanding of the competitive metagame they are to be used in.

16. Play with your team before putting it up for rate. We as a community cannot emphasize this enough. No one wants to rate the team that you freshly created while eating breakfast or the gimmick you randomly put together. We as a community want teams that have been battle tested so that the obvious flaws have been hammered out.

This is particularly because just by playing with a team, you yourself can figure out what is wrong with your team. You don't need other people to help you quite yet - and to be blunt, you're just being lazy or have the wrong idea of what the RMT forum is if you're posting teams you spent fifteen minutes creating.

Learn more about the Ubers metagame (and about competitive Pokemon in general) before reposting. Also make sure to test your team.
