My First Ever Team and Post

If you read the title you would know this is my first ever post and team, so yeah... I would tell you how I made it but I made it a really long time ago so I don't remember how I made it. All you should know is that Dragonite used to be Tornadus-T.

The Team
-----------------

186.gif

Politoed@Choice Specs
Drizzle
EV's: 252 HP/252 Def/4 Spd
Nature: Modest(+SpA ,-Att)
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power {Grass}

My lead(obviously)and can deal heavy damage on a lot of things, if not, KO it. It is one of my special attackers on the team. I think it used to be a standard set from Smogon but now they changed the EV's. If you looked at the Smogon set they have now, looking at the damage calcs, this Politoed will do a little less but will still destroy things. The accuracy is unreliable but can usually take one hit unlike someone *cough cough* Alakazam *cough cough*

Gliscor@ Toxic Orb
Posion Heal
EV's: 208 HP/20 Att/136 Def/4 SpDef/140 Spd
Nature: Adament(+Att,-SpA)
-Earthquake
-U-turn
-Stealth Rock
-Protect

Physical wall even though the nature and EV's are weird. Absorbs any status as long as I can get the orb though I usually can. When I'm left with mainly my walls, Gliscor can help me get out of sticky situations with Blissey's toxic and the fact I usually have those 2 with me so I can take many hits, and get wish support from Blissey. My man to set up rocks and hopefully toxic stall.

205.gif

Forretress@ Leftovers
Sturdy
EV's: 252 HP/176 Def/ 80 SpDef
Nature:Relaxed(+Def,-Spd)
-Spikes
-Gyro Ball
-Rapid Spin
-Volt Switch

My other physical wall and spinner. It sometimes revenge kills that is low on HP assuming it can take a hit or has sturdy intact. I think it is standard. Gyro ball will the a crap ton of damage on those fast dragons with the minus speed nature. Great to switch in just to get a safe switch into something because I can either fodder it or Volt Switch the heck out of there. And the fact the Forry is so slow means I am almost guaranteed to see which pokemon the opponent goes into

242.gif

Blissey@ Leftovers
Natural Cure
EV's: 4 HP/252 Def/ 252 Spd
Nature: Calm(+SpDef, -Att)
-Wish
-Protect
-Seismic Toss
-Toxic

I know the EV's are weird. It was on Smogon a long time ago I think. Blissey is a great special wall and with 252 Def, it can take some physical hits with it's uber high HP stat. Takes the special hits like it's nothing. Wish Protect will make sure that is Blissey needs it, she will get it(though I shouldn't even be telling you this because you already know). Toxic if stalling is necessary and seismic toss because of the obvious. Pretty standard so yeah...

149.gif

Dragonite@Choice Band
Multiscale
EV's: 4 HP/252 Att/252 Spd
Nature: Adamant(+Att,- SpA)
-Outrage
-Extreme Speed
-Superpower
-Earthquake

It was an old Smogon set. Another revenge killer and Outrage destroys and steel types don't take it to lightly. Stab banded Outrage destroys roughly 1/2. I haven't run into any physical wall steel types but still be cautious when running into steel types. I used to run Fire Punch but I stopped because of the fact that it's a rain team. Earthquake was something else to but I forgot.

065.gif

Alakazam@ Life Orb
Magic Guard
EV's: 4 HP/252 SpA/ 252 Spd
Nature: Timid(+Spd,-Att)
-Psychic
-Focus Blast
-Shadow Ball
-Hidden Power {Ice}

I know I could run Focus Sash but I think it sometimes lacks power to kill.
252 SpA Alakazam Focus Blast vs. 4 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey: 158-186 (24.23 - 28.52%) That would be a possible 5HKO. Then, with Life Orb,
252 SpA Life Orb Alakazam Focus Blast vs. 4 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey: 205-242 (31.44 - 37.11%) which is a guaranteed 4HKO. I know that you should just use a different pokemon, but if it is already weakened, it may lack the power to finally kill. Also,
252 SpA Alakazam Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Heatran: 186-220 (48.31 - 57.14%) -- 39.45% chance to 2HKO
And then with the Life Orb,
252 SpA Life Orb Alakazam Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Heatran: 242-286 (62.85 - 74.28%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
So those are some calcs saying why I prefer Life Orb. I know Alakazam is screwed by scarfer but still.

Personally, it seems as though your team would benefit from sand instead of rain. Alakazam, Gliscor, and Forretress all benefit from having sand up. You could replace Dragonite with Garchomp, which would also benefit from sand. That's just my opinion though.

I think that you should not run Superpower and Earthquake. Redundant coverage. I would actually run Waterfall over either Superpower or Earthquake. It gets boosted because of Rain. I also think you should have more Pokes that benefit from the Rain. And Politoed needs max special attack.

Man a Dragonite in the Rain with no Hurricane or Thunder? For Shame!

In all seriousness though a good pokemon to take rain and use it to it's advantage is the (INCREDIBLY) powerful Volcarona. On my rain team, I use a Bulky Quiver Dancing Chesto-Resto Set. Here are the specs (anything important from this point on is bolded):

Volcarona @ Chesto Berry | Flame Body
Nature: Bold (+Def, -Att)
EV's: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Quiver Dance | Bug Buzz | Hurricane | Rest

A lot of people understand Volcarona, but won't see the incredibly Bulky Variant Coming, and with about 290 Sp. Attack without Investment, he will destroy everything on the field that doesn't resist Bug Buzz or Hurricane after you rest.

However, if you want to continue using Dragonite, this is a good set for him (I think)

Dragonite @ Leftovers | MultiScale
Nature: Timid (+ Spd - Att) | Modest (+ Sp. Att, - Att)
EV's: 192 HP | 252 Sp. Att | 64 Spd
Dragon Tail | Roost | Hurricane | Thunder

The reason Thunder and Hurricane are good to have is because those two moves are 100% accurate in the rain Dragon Tail would be mostly for shuffling, and Roost is to heal yourself back to MultiScale.

Hey, if you wanna run a rain team like this by all means go ahead, but at least run some Pokemon that will actually ABUSE the rain. :) Other options (with sets I don't remember off the top of my head) are Keldeo, Garydos, Kabutops (Although not the Swift Swim Variant, Drizzle + Swift Swim is banned) and Toxicroak.

Hope this helps! :)

Hmmmmmmmmm. I'll look into all those suggestions. To be honest, I never really liked Volcorona so I'll probably not but I'll still see.

You should abuse the rain more, you should add hurricane and or Thunder on Dragonite. Just my 2 cents and especially consider Thunder for Dragonite if it's a replacement for Thundurus- T

Hi! I'm on a time crunch, but i only have one issue with this team.
Your Gliscor seems out of place. You claim you wish to toxic stall with him, but that can't be done if he'd not carrying toxic himself to spread the love. To simply put, I'd replace Gliscor with Landorus-T. Landorus-T offers the same (if not more) amount of physical bulk needed to tank things, and thanks to Intimidate, he can ease some pressure off a Forretress since he can't take physical hits all day long, i mean he can only do so much. The set you currently have on Gliscor, Landorus-T does better. Not to mention he does pack that monstrous base 145atk, making him able to add some offensive pressure to the opponent.
Here's the set, good luck!

Landorus-T @ Leftovers
Intimidate
Adamant
200 HP / 64 Atk / 244 Def
~Stealth Rock
~Earthquake
~Stone Edge
~U-Turn

Get rid of Politoed for T tarBanded DNite for banded chomp, and but a sash on the alakazam. Your team looks like itd be better as a sand team.
