My First OU Team

I'm a primarily UU player but i decided i would give the OU environment a try.

I started off how I do when making a UU team. I chose my favorite pokemon from the tier and then built a team around it.

The first pokemon I chose was Umbreon.

Umbreon@Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
Nature: Careful
EVs: 252 Hp, 252 SpD, 4 Def
Special Wall/Wish Passer
Moves:
Wish
Curse
Payback
Protect

Strategy: Switch on on special sweepers and set up curse or pass a wish.

I know its strange, but it actually works surprisingly well.

I decided the main switch-ins on Umbreon would be fighting types, Scizor, Jirachi, and Electivire so i chose a pokemon that could wall them all and hopefully score some KOs.

Rotom-h@Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 Hp
Special Sweeper
Moves:
Thunderbolt
Shadowball
Overheat
Trick

Startegy: Switch in on a ground, electric, fighting, or normal attack and start sweeping. I figured that it would probably force a lot of pokemon to switch out so i opted for higher special attack with the choice specs over higher speed with the choice scarf. It can also block explosion and fake-out which is very useful.

The top switches on Rotom-h would probably be ground types, Heatran, Gengar, and dark types.. I decided the best counters for this were Gyarados= and Scizor as a team. Gyarados could switch in on ground moves and fire moves that Scizor draws and Scizor can take care of Grass types and rock types that try to wall Gyarados.

Scizor@Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant
EVs:248 Hp, 252 Atk, 8 Spe
Physical Sweeper
Moves:
Bullet Punch
U-Turn
Pursuit
Superpower

Strategy: Switch in and destroy fleeing gengars with pursuit, grass types with U-Turn, and Rock types with BP or Superpower.

Gyarados@Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 248 Hp, 252 Atk, 8 Spe
Physical Sweeper/Tank
Moves:
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Earthquake
Stone Edge

I have swept 7 out of 18 teams 6-0 or 5-0 with this set. :)

Strategy: Force a switch-out or go in on an attack that you know will take at least 3 hits to KO Gyarados and set up 1 or 2 DDs. Proceed to sweep :)

The biggest switch ins on Gyarados would be electric types. I would've used Electivire but i already had Rotom-h, so instead I chose Gliscor.

Gliscor@Yache Berry
Ability: Sand Veil
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 Hp, 252 Def, 4 Spe
Physical Wall
Moves:
Roost
Toxic
Earthquake
Taunt

Strategy: Switch in on a physical attack, electric attack, or ground attack and toxic or EQ. Taunt on set-ups and Roost when needed. The only problem with this is that it is completely walled by Gengar...but that can be handled by Umbreon.

Gliscors biggest problems would be Bronzong, Skarmory, and Ice Types. Rotom can cover all these so I was pretty much good. I needed a lead and I wanted more type coverage/something to get rid of annoying Bliss and Snorlax so i chose Machamp.

Machamp@Lum Berry
Ability: No Guard
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 24 Hp, 248 Atk, 4 Spe, 16 SpD
Lead
Moves:
Encore
Substitute
DynamicPunch
Payback

Strategy: Your normal Machamp anti-lead. Sub/Encore when needed, take out psychics with payback and score some damage/confusion with D Punch.

Final Team:
Machamp-Lead
Sciscor-Physical Sweeper
Gyarados-Physical Sweeper
Rotom-h-Special Sweeper
Gliscor-Physical Wall
Umbreon-Special Wall

So thats my team! Please leave me suggestions and tell me what you think!

It's in the RMT rules, you need to explain what your pokemon do and the roles they play on your team so it's for us to rate. I read the description only when it's a very weird moveset or EV set, so I can rate with out.

First, Please put your team in the correct order, atleast Machamp first. I though you were leading with Umbreon.

Scizor is asking for a heatran switch in or Magnezone for an easy set-up / free kill resprectively. Try Expert Belt, lets you bluff choice and kill magnezone.

That umbreon set isn't that odd. I've seen versions of it on RMT and I used a Umberon with Toxic/Curse/Wish/Baton Pass. THAT'S a weird set.

Well, expand your comments.
