ORAS OU My first RMT here!

Hello everyone, I recently started playing Pokémon again after a big break (have not played since the old Ruby/Sapphire games) and I noticed a lot has changed since then. Nevertheless, I tried making a decent team and I was wondering if you guys could rate my team and give some good input and tips.

froslass.gif

Froslass – Ice/Ghost
Cursed Body
Timid nature
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
@ Focus Sash

- Taunt
- Spikes
- Destiny Bond
- Icebeam

Suicide Spiker and Rapid Spin counter. Taunt to make sure opponent cannot put down Spikes/Stealth Rock and stat boosting attacks. Icebeam and Destiny Bond are self explanatory I guess.

starmie.gif

Starmie – Water/Psychic
Analytic/Natural Cure
Timid nature
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
@ Life Orb

- Psyshock
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Rapid Spin

Needed a Rapid Spinner (seeing as I did not want Defog because of both Spikes and Stealth Rock on this team), Water and Psychic type. Guess Starmie is the perfect match here. ;-)

charizard.gif

Charizard (X) – Fire/Flying
Blaze – (M) Tough Claws
Jolly nature
EVS: 252 Attack / 4 Def / 252 Spe
@ Charizardite X

- Dragon Claw
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Roost

Charizard-X doing some sweeping. Standard moveset I suppose.

serperior.gif

Serperior – Grass
Contrary
Timid nature
EVS: 252 SpA4 SpD252 Spe
@ Life Orb

- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power Fire/Ground
- Taunt

Having my doubts between Hidden Power Fire and Ground, seeing as it can both be beneficial to it. Thoughts about this would be welcome!

hippowdon.gif

Hippowdon – Ground
Sand Force / Sand Stream
Impish nature
EVS: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
@ Leftovers

- Stone Edge / Toxic / Whirlwind
- Slack Off
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

My Stealth Rocker, which works great alongside Spikes. Think on giving it Stone Edge seeing as I'm lacking Rock Type moves (and Pokémon like Charizard aren't a rarity..). Having my doubts about his ability though, seeing as a Sand Storm might be damaging against Froslass.. but chances are high that Froslass is long gone by this stage. Thoughts about this are welcome!

conkeldurr.gif

Conkeldurr – Fighting
Iron Fist
Adament nature
EVS: 252 Atk / 236 SpD / 20 Spe
@ Assault Vest

- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch / Knock Off
- Poison Jab / Stone Edge

Think on going Poison Jab on him to counter Faeries, and I'll probably stick with Ice Punch seeing as it benefits from it's ability. Needed another hard hitter and a semi-sturdy Pokémon in the time, so I thought Conkeldurr would be a decent fit.

Thanks a bundle everyone. Curious to see what you guys think about it and if I did a decent job. ;-)

Hello vincenz0

Overall it looks like a pretty cool team but the only problem is that you kinda get smacked by fairies especially mega gardevoir when you have a suicide lead froslass and not really a sp def wall. Since froslass doesn't really do anything except for setting up spikes i suggest to switch him for gengar which is a good counter against fairies and especially mega gardevoir. I suggest going for a life orb set or a choice specs set.

Overall it is a pretty cool team and good luck.

Hello there,

Your team is not bad, but it really needs a steel type to kill faeries and take a bunch of hits. That being said, I'd put a Bisharp>Conkeldurr to keep the offensive physical pressure and the priority, while still killing faeries and taking advantage of his defiant ability if your opponent clears the field with Defog. On the other hand, your Froslass should run Icy wind>Ice beam to cripple fast threats after it is taken down. I would also use a bulkier spread on Starmie, but LO works for you too I guess.

Hope the rate helped man!

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 240 HP / 16 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Reflect Type
- Rapid Spin
- Recover

Thank you both for your feedback. You guys have been really helpful!

I think I will take both your advices. Replace Froslass with Gengar and Conkeldurr with Bisharp. Keeping both Froslass and Bisharp might give me to much fire weaknesses and I think for reasons stated by Bandedmonster that Gengar might be the better fit overall. But if you guys have any thoughts about this, please let em know. :)

Better start training soon then!
