My First RMT

The team is generally based around a Darmanitan sweep, making use of Sun, his amazing ability Sheer Force, and an STAB Flare Blitz.

Ninetales @ Leftovers
Ability: Drought
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Sunny Day
- Solarbeam
- Will-O-Wisp

Quite obviously Ninetales is used to summon sun. It can also go on the offense with Flamethrower and Solarbeam boosted by sunlight. Sunny Day is used when an opponent weather inducer like Politoed is switched in on Ninetales. It not only weakens Water type moves, but also opens up Solarbeam. Will-O-Wisp is just there as a filler move and to burn physical threats.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Nature: Bold (+Def, -Atk)
- Healing Wish
- Seismic Toss
- Wish
- Stealth Rock

My SpD wall. She also sets up Stealth Rock and does decent damage with Seismic Toss. Her main purpose is to act as a healer, especially for Darmanitan. Since Flare Blitz is a really strong attack, Darmanitan can only suffer a few hits of recoil before risking being KO-ed. Blissey's Wishes are extremely huge, but I also added in Healing Wish for a free switch in late game, and also for me to switch Darmanitan in when Stealth Rocks are threatening my team and Darmanitan has low HP (less than 25%). Def EVs and a defensive nature was used to help Blissey deal with physical attackers, as Blissey doesn't need SpD EVs to be a great special wall.

Darmanitan @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake
- U-Turn
- Rock Slide

Darmanitan is the main sweeper of my team. Sheer Force + Sun + STAB + Flare Blitz is something not many opposing pokemon can handle. Earthquake and Rock Slide are coverage moves, whilst U-Turn is for scouting. The reason Darmanitan is Scarf-ed is because it's not very fast and defensively quite frail. The Scarf allows me to KO opposing pokemon before they even have a chance to attack Darmanitan.

images

Dugtrio @ Focus Sash
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -SpA)
- Reversal
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
- Stone Edge

Dugtrio was included in this team mainly to trap annoying opposing pokemon, mainly pokemon immune to Flare Blitz (e.g. Heatran) and opposing weather inducers. Reversal is good when Dugtrio has 1 HP from Focus Sash, and Sucker Punch is a good priority move.

Chandelure @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spd
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Shadow Ball
- Trick
- Hidden Power Ice

Chandelure is my team's second sweeper. It not only acts as a backup for Darmanitan, but it's also a special sweeper, meaning that it can take out physical walls that can tank Darmanitan's Flare Blitz. Flamethrower was chosen over Fire Blast because Chandelure already has monstrous base SpA and the extra accuracy helps a lot. Trick is for crippling walls like Blissey, while HP Ice helps a lot in dealing with Dragons and pokemon like Gliscor and Landorus. Finally, Chandelure acts as a good fire absorber with Flash Fire and is also a good spin-blocker.

Cloyster @ Life Orb
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -SpA)
- Shell Smash
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Rapid Spin

I decided against running a Spikes set on Cloyster, and instead went for something more offensive. Cloyster's Rapid Spin is extremely useful to prevent entry hazard damage on my Pokemon, as Stealth Rocks are super effective against my Fire-types and also waste Dugtrio's Focus Sash. Icicle Spear and Rock Blast do well against Pokemon hiding behind Substitutes. I opted against giving Cloyster Speed EVs because Shell Smash provides +2 Speed, making Cloyster reasonably fast.

Hi there !

As I see, your team is really weak against Terrakion and Landorus, two major pokemons in the OU metagame. Water type pokemons and physical dragons seem problematic too.

Darmanitan doesn't like bulky water pokemons and you have no way to eliminate them (expect Solarbeam on Ninetales but Ninetales doesn't like them too ...). You're also running 2 scarfed pokemon and 3 fire types. What about using another way to gain speed, expecially in the sun : Chlorophyl ? My first suggestion is to switch Chandelure for Lilligant (http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/lilligant/ou for the set, i suggest HP Ice for Landorus and dragons). It'll add a resistance to ground and also a neutrality to SR. With Quiver Dance, you can boost your stats and the sun doubles your speed. A grass type pokemon will threat bulky waters.

I find your set of Cloyster a bit useless : he's weak to stealth rocks so when he comes to the field, he'll loose 25% HP. You'll Rapid Spin and loose more HP with Life Orb. Shell Smash gives you a Defense Drop, this is a pure offensive move, so 252 ev Def is not a good idea. My advice is to change Cloyster for a Physically Defensive Forretress.

Forretress @Leftovers
Ability : Sturdy
Relaxed Nature (+Def ; -Spe)
_ Stealth Rock
_ Rapid Spin
_ Gyro Ball
_ Earthquake/Volt Switch

You should have noticed that this Forretress has Stealth Rocks, so my last change is for Blissey =D

Just for dealing with Rain Teams, you can change Blissey for Gastrodon. Gastrodon resists fire for Forretress and you have pokes to take grass moves. Take the Tank set here : http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/gastrodon

Hope I helped, test with those changes and tell me the results ;)

Your team is very weak to rain teams. Dugtrio, Ninetales, Chandelure, and Darmanitan are all weak to water type attacks. Starmie and Vaporeon can put major dents in your team. Most rain teams contain and pokemon with the move Thunder which has 100% accuracy in rain. That will OHKO your Cloyster on the turn it uses shell smash due to its horrible SpDef. In rain, 3/6 of your pokemon have their fire power weakened 50%. Your Chandelure has Trick which might be a bad idea because your basically making the opponent faster. Some Power Trick users that I see common on almost every baton pass shuckle could make you fall into their trap. I would prefer a Adamant Nature on your Cloyster (+Att,-SpAtt). Now you need a good electric type to get those rain teams less threatening.

Jolteon @ Life Orb / Air Balloon
Ability: Volt Absorb
Nature: Modest (+SpAtt,-Att)
EVs: 204 Spd, 252 SpAtt, 52 SpDef
-Substitute
-Charge Beam
-Baton Pass
-Thunderbolt

Hi GodotFr and TheStriker.

I really appreciate your replies as I'm new to the community and to the game and the feedback really helped me a lot =D.

GodotFr, I've tried out your suggestions and the main problem faced with the new team is that Forretress is setup bait for common setup sweepers such as Landorus and Thundurus-Therian. I'm not a skilled player but sometimes when Landorus gets a Rock Polish in while i switch Forretress out it can be really hard to handle him as he's a hard hitter that is hard to outspeed after a Rock Polish.

With regards to Lilligant (I'm running HP Ice), I noticed that she is defensively quite frail and I'm generally not very lucky, experiencing Sleep Powder misses at all the wrong times. However she's a great late game sweeper and I've also been wondering if Healing Wish would be useful in any way.

On the other hand Jolteon has been pretty good as she has great special attack and speed. However it would be good if i had a strong special sweeper to baton pass the boosts from Charge Beam to. Unfortunately Lilligant does not have the best coverage and is forced to switch out sometimes. Any suggestions anyone?

Hey, welcome to Smogon!
So I'm pretty much going to agree with everything that GodotFR said, but you could use a slightly different Forretress set to help you deal with Landorus and be less set up bait.
Forretress@leftovers
Bold
-Spikes
-Rapid Spin
-Volt Switch
-HP Ice
252 hp/200 def/56 spA
I don't remember the exact calcs, but I'm pretty sure 56 spA ev's allows Forretress to 2hko some pokes that would normally set up on him, and since only ground is immune to volt switch (bar volt absorbers), you can easily volt switch out against threats that aren't ground types, and then HP Ice the ground ones, especially Landorus. It also means you're not set up fodder for SD Gliscor and such.
Along with GodotFR, I'd recommend using the standard OU Lilligant set w/ HP Rock over HP Ice now that you have Forry w/ HP Ice.
I hope this helped.
I'd love to hear some feedback.

hi! you could put cresselia stead of blissey because of her fighting resistance
Forretress is a good spinner in place of cloyster.
I suggest you Venusaur instead of Chandelure, in order to have a great sunny day abuser and a water resistance

Thanks for all the suggestions people =D.

After some testing I've decided to use Donphan instead of Forretress.

Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Atk / 200 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SpA)

-Stealth Rock
-Rapid Spin
-Earthquake
-Ice Shard

Ice Shard is a good Priority Move that deals super effective damage to many common Pokemon like Gliscor, while Earthquake is quite powerful coming from Donphan as well.

The Lilligant set is working well! I'll test Venusaur when I have time too.
