Introduction

This is my first competitive team and built around pokemon that I like (except Celesteela because I needed a wall). Please give me some suggestions as to how to improve my team

The Team

lycanroc.gif

Lycanroc @ Life Orb
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Accelerock
- Crunch
Lycanroc has good speed and attack but is very frail, so I use it as a late game sweeper or revenge killer with accelrock, since there are not many mons that resist a STAB stone edge (it can 2HKO Torrapex). Swords dance is for when I scare pokemon like Alolan-Marowak out to set up a sweep. Plus it looks awesome :)

decidueye.gif

Decidueye @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Def
Careful Nature
- Roost
- U-turn
- Spirit Shackle
- Defog
Decidueye is my favourite starter so I use him as a defogger. U-turn gives me momentum, while Spirit shackle can trap many pokemon who think they can outhit me (but I have roost). He also a special wall for electric attacks (who my Celesteela can't take)

marowak-alola.gif

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Flame Charge
- Flare Blitz
- Shadow Bone
- Bonemerang
Marowak hits very hard with thick club. I use it to switch in on its resistances, land a flame charge as they switch to set up a sweep, since Marowak has good coverage moves of Flare Blitz/Shadow Bone/Bonemerang which can easily destroy bulky pokemon like Torrapex

tapu koko.gif

Tapu Koko @ Life Orb
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- Calm Mind
- Grass Knot
Tapu is just a beast who switch in on advantageous pokemons like Greninja and set up calm mind to sweep. Grass knot is for predicted switch ins to ground types, and it is good at cleaning up late game

celesteela.gif

Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Leech Seed
- Heavy Slam
- Protect
- Toxic
Most of my pokemon are fragile so I need a special wall to take hits before I switch into an advantageous pokemon. This thing is very hard to kill with leech seed, protect and toxic. I use it as a lead because I always run into rock type leads which I can OHKO/2HKO when they set up stealth rock.

golisopod.gif

Golisopod @ Leftovers
Ability: Emergency Exit
EVs: 252 HP / 188 Def / 68 SpD
Impish Nature
- Bulk Up
- Liquidation
- Aqua Jet
- Leech Life
Golispod is for deailng with physical attacks (especially earthquake). I usually switch it in to take very hard hits. Emergency exit activates then I switch to a counter. Or sometimes I switch it into a pokemon who can't do much to me (Garchomp/Mamoswine) and set up a few bulk ups. After that I can sweep by staying alive with leech life and hitting special attackers with aqua jet

Conclusion

Since I am a bit of a beginner, this team works from time to time. flame-charge Marowak can usually deal a lot of damage before dying, and if the opponent is not careful they can get swept with Golisopod. There is a recurring problem though, I am having huge trouble dealing with physical fire types like Alolan-Marowak and Incineroar. Alolan-marowak switches in on tapu koku and Celeestela can't tank it, all my resists are too weak (Lycanroc + Marowak) even with max defense + HP Golosipod gets emergency exit activated. I am considering running a tanky Garchomp instead of Golisopod, but it can't learn stealth rock :(
Please give any suggestions as to what pokemon I should use to tank physical fire hits (and ground moves at the same type since half my team is weak against ground moves

you need to post where the remaining 4 evs are going on a few of your pokemon.

I would recomend using first impression over bulk up or aqua jet on golissapod. Roost would work better on Koko over calm mind since koko wont survive more than one hit if its lucky or replacing it with another attack. As for Celestea I would use Earth Quake or flame thrower over heavy slam since other wise it would get walled by tentacruel or any bulky grass/poison type. as for marowak flame charge is kind of useless, sure it boost speed, but its speed tier is already low so you're better off going with brick break to smash duel screens, normals, and dark types which would otherwise wall it.

overall the team is looking pretty good to me, it just needs some tweeks to the move sets. lele is super popular so watch out for her terrain with golisopod and lycanrock. you should also be wary of ground, dark, and ghost types.

thanks for the advice
I decided to switch Golisopod for a tanky Garchomp to counter my fire weakness
I put earthquake on celesteela and roost on koko
If i switch flame charge for brick break should I not invest in speed at all because its kind of slow? (adamant nature, attack/hp/defense ev spread)

also, do you think it is better to run jolly/adamant on lycanroc?

Marowak is naturally slow so you would be better off investing in either hp, or def. Alternativly you could also run it with an assault vest and max spdef. as for its nature adamant would probably be better to maximize damage.

Lycanroc is already super fast and can out pace most of the meta so adamant would be better to maximize damage. the only thing you have to worry about speed wise is koko, phermosa, and anything in the same speed tier as lycanrock that is scarfed, so basically lele and phermosa. But you shouldn't be staying in on lele anyway with lycanrock and phermosa either runs choice band or choice scarf unless its a sub-quiverdance set and lycanrock naturally threatens it with accelrock and accelrock continental cursher anyway so most of the time they will switch it out, at least in my experience. take the 4 spatk evs and place them into hp or def on him as well since you don't get any use out of the spatk stat.
