My First UU Team (Peaked #88)

My First UU Team (Peaked #88)
Changes in Blue

Hello! This is my first RMT and I present to you a balanced/semi stall UU team. I have been using this team for almost 100 matches now and I would like some feedback. This team peaked at #88 on the ladder with the strategy of setting up hazards, then walling foes with phasing, burning, poisoning and recovery so that each foe is weak enough for an offensive Pokémon to finish them off (Unless they simply die to indirect stall damage).

Meet the Team

Sableye @ leftovers
Trait: Prankster
Careful Nature
EVs: 252 HP/ 120 Def/ 128 Spd/ 8 Spe
- Taunt
- Will o wisp
- Night Shade
- Recover

Prankster Sableye is an awesome poke and it was the first Pokémon I selected when building this team. Will o wisp shuts down so many physical threats (which I can then out recover-stall) in the tier while taunt helps keep hazards off the field and foes from setting up. I run 8 speed EVs because most Sableye run 4 or none at all, allowing me to taunt or burn them before they can do the same to me.

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat
Careful Nature
EVs: 208 HP/ 124 Def/ 176 Spd
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Body Slam
- Whirlwind

This is a standard special wall but it’s extremely effective. No special attacker can harm Snorlax without stat boosts and if they try to obtain these boosts, they can easily be whirlwinded away causing more foes to be damaged by entry hazards. The only attacks that can hurt Snorlax are fighting moves which easily are absorbed by Sableye or Gligar, who is the physical wall in this defensive duo.
Synergy: Fighting: Sableye, Zapdos, Gligar

Gligar @ Eviolite
Trait: Immunity
Impish Nature
EVs: 248 HP/ 252 Def/ 8 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Roost
- Earthquake
- Toxic

The second part of my defensive duo is my physical wall which shuts down most physical threats in the tier if they are not burned already by Sableye. Stealth rocks, along with Scolipede’s spikes cause lots of entry damage per switch in. like Sableye, Gligar runs 8 speed EVs over the normal 4 because it can out speed opposing Gligar and toxic them or set up rocks before they can taunt me away from doing so. The hyper cutter ability is used over sand veil due to the lack of sand teams in UU and it allows me to hit opponents with intimidate like Arcanine and Qwilfish for supper effective earthquakes at normal power.
Synergy: Water: Azumarill, Ice: Snorlax (Thick Fat), Grass: Zapdos, Scolipede

Qwilfish @ leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 HP/ 4 Atk/ 252 Def
- Spikes
- Waterfall
- Taunt
- Destiny Bond

Qwilfish is my primary spiker, toxic spike remover and back up physical wall to Gligar. Intimidate shuts down most choice band users and forces many switches which allows more spikes to be set up. Destiny bond is a nice suprise for special attackers trying to remove Qwilfish such as Zapdos, Raikou and Rotom-H.
Synergy: Ground: Zapdos, Flygon, Electric: Gligar, Flygon, Psychic: Sableye

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
Calm Nature
EVs: 204 HP/ 36 Spa/ 236 Spd/ 32 Spe
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power (Grass)
- Roost

Zapdos functions both as a backup special wall and a special attacker. The 3 attacks are for coverage against foes with lower special defenses while roost can help in the stall process of toxic residual damage.
Synergy: Ice: Snorlax (Thick Fat), Azumarill Rock: Gligar

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
Adamant Nature
EVs: 4 Spd/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spe
- Earthquake
- U-Turn
- Fire Punch
- Outrage

I needed a revege killer for this team, so scarf Flygon fit perfectly wih its coverage and late game power. The moveset is straightforward but Flygon still cleans up late when opponent's teams are worn down from prior stall damage.
Synergy: Ice: Snorlax (Thick Fat), Dragon: I have no steel types, however Gligar walls most dragons in the tier.

Thanks for reading my RMT and I’m open to suggestions so please, rate away!

I'm sorry, what...?

Peaking #88 isn't a big achievement...

Zapdos fits the roll of a Special Attacker more than a Special Wall.

Zapdos @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Heat Wave
- Roost

^That's quite a condescending comment. #88 isn't bad, and it shows that this team has had success. The OP never even came close to saying that his rank was good. Specially Defensive Zapdos is a perfectly viable choice, especially for a semi-stall/stallish team like this one.

It seems that you have done well with Scolipede, but I don't feel that he is the best choice for this team since it is highly defensive. Incorporating a suicide lead is not the best idea on such teams since they need as many team slots as possible to check as many threats as possible. Your spiking options are limited, but I would recommend a Defensive Qwilfish, as this will help against Physical Fire-types, which this team is weak to, while absorbing Toxic Spikes, helping Sableye and Snorlax. Note that Toxic Spikes isn't too good of an option nowadays, so I would recommend you go for just Spikes on Qwilfish. Gligar's ability should also be Immunity since all of its moves are now legal with it, and immunity to Toxic is great for any defensive Pokemon. Azumarill also doesn't fit too well, as a Rapid Spinner would work much better, especially since you are using Zapdos. A Choice Scarfer would also do very well since it can revenge threats that get out of hand. I didn't add too much detail, but hope I helped.

thanks for the suggstions. qwilfish will be subbed for scolipede and i'll look to implicate a rapid sinner or scarfer. however i don't plan to change zapdos' set
