Hey everybody, I am a pretty new guy here. But I want to have my team rated by experts. The following team is put to its acid test. I have pretty much succes with it, but well... there is something missing. I don't exactly know where the flaws exactly are. But nonetheless, here is my team:
Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
The common lead Mamoswine. Not much to say about, only that it is an real offensive threat. Swept through whole teams with this guy already, and I know why this is the most common set. I use it this way: put up SR, if the opponent has something threatening on his side, switch it out. Then I'll switch it in whenever the opponent tries to hit me with Pokémon like Salamence
Volcarona @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 160 HP / 236 SAtk / 112 Spd
Modest Nature
- Rest
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Bug Buzz
True setup power over here. Offensive Bulkyrona, can easily take hits, even physical ones. I rarely face a foe it can't hit at least with neutral damage, and with Fiery Dance, you all should know that once a sweep has begun, it easily gets out of control.
Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Quick Attack
- Return
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
Great as a revenger, for killing severely damaged opponents with Quick attack and recieving a Moxie boost, and then the Sweep starts. If the situation allows to do so, I like to Swords Dance, and then spamming Return is the most effective thing.
Starmie @ Assault Vest
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 208 HP / 252 SAtk / 48 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Ice Beam
If you play with Volcarona and Pinsir, there is one thing you should not lack: a reliable spinner. BoltBeam Coverage, STAB-Move with burn chance, and Rapid Spin paired with a good bunch of bulk makes this Starmie a reliable special sweeper, being no dead weight when there is no hazard to get rid of. In some situations, I even use it to sponge up predicted Toxic.
Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Aromatherapy
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss
Know these situations when you recon with an attack that all of you other Pokémon would simple not be able to take without too much damage? Switching in Chansey is THE solution for me. Standard staller, Aromatherapy to get rid of crippling status.
Alakazam @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Dazzling Gleam
- Shadow Ball
I have mixed feelings about Alakazam. If you get the chance to switch it in safely, it can start an epic unboosted sweep. Simply OHKO everything that is thrown at you with the great coverage. On the other hand, the situations for a save switch are rare for Alakazam. It got OHKOed by nearly ANY physical hit, and by a lot of special ones. Only safe switches are into predicted Will-O-Wisp and Toxic, as well as after one of your own Pokémon got defeated. Another flaw is, that anything Alakazam can't OHKO after Stealth rock damage will OHKO Alakazam.
Hope that this meets the requirements an RMT should have.
Greetings!
