Xenon (Xatu) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 92 Def / 164 SpD
Bold Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Night Shade
- Wish
- Confuse Ray

Every flying team hates one thing... Stealth Rock hazards. Xatu's main role in the team is supporting her teammates and preventing hazards, taunts, status moves, leech seeds, encores, etc. Xatu is also my cleric in the team by Wish passing. Confuse Ray and Thunder Wave is pretty much self-explanatory in terms of support. And Night Shade is there so that it can deal at least decent 100 damage to the opponent. EV Spread goes to HP for Wish Pass and some goes to Def and SpDef for additional bulk and defense.

Zoey (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 156 Def / 100 SpD
Bold Nature
- Discharge
- Roost
- Toxic
- Defog

I can't really rely the hazard preventation to Xatu at all times so I have Zapdos also to remove those hazards and screens with Defog. Toxic is there to cripple pokemon that is not Gliscor or steel types. Discharge is the STAB electric attack with a chance to paralyze the target and finally Roost to restore some HP when she's about to go down. Again, EV is invested on HP and shared with Def and SpDef with a bold nature for bulk.

250px-642Thundurus.png

Taylor (Thundurus) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Flash Cannon
- Taunt

Volt Switch for momentum, HP Ice for flying, and ground users. Flash Cannon for Rock, Fairy and Ice coverage and Taunt for setup sweepers, and Pranksters like Sableye, and Klefki. Life Orb to ensure Thundy hits hard. EVs are again maximised in SpA and Spe with a Timid Nature to ensure that Thundy hits first most of the time.

OLD SET
Tiffany (Thundurus) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Thunder Punch
- Knock Off
- Taunt

Thundurus is my only physical attacker in the team. Why run a physical Thundurus? Well, her Attack stat isn't that bad,and with access to Defiant, she can be quite a hard hitter when Intimidated or when her stats are lowered. I equipped her with Life Orb for hitting harder. U-Turn for scouting and for gaining momentum on the opponent. Thunder Punch is the STAB electric attack. Knock Off to take the opponent's item off, and can be quite handy against ghost types and psychic types... and Taunt to stop pokemon like Chansey, and the likes. Maxed Speed and Attack with a Jolly Nature so it can hit first unless the opponent is faster or scarfed.

250px-645Landorus.png

Lance (Landorus) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic

Life Orb + Sheer Force is an awesome combination. Landorus is also my Stealth Rock setter. Earth Power is there for STAB and to check Steel, Rock and Ice types. Sludge Wave for fairy coverage and Psychic for Fighting coverage. EVs are maximised in Spe and SpAtk with a Timid Nature to ensure Lando hits fast and hard.

OLD PLAYER
250px-666Vivillon.png

Venus (Vivillon) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Draining Kiss
- Quiver Dance
- Sleep Powder

Vivillon is my set-up sweeper. With the ability Compound Eyes, this pokemon has real good Hurricane aiming skills. Sleep Powder to put the opponent to sleep and start setting up one or two Quiver Dance/s. Draining Kiss is my choice over Giga Drain so that it can hit Dragons and Dark types effectively and Draining Kiss restores 75% HP. Hurricane is the powerful STAB move of Vivillon... and it almost never misses thanks to her Compound Eyes ability. Focus Sash is equipped so that she can withstand a hit and put a pokemon to sleep or set up a Quiver Dance. Maxed Speed and SpAtk for sweeping because once she gets a few dances in there, she can be quite the sweeper.

006Charizard_Mega_X_Dream.png

Charmaine (Charizard) (F) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Solar Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Flare Blitz
- Roost

Charizard is the obvious mega choice for this game. With his Fire/Dragon typing I can ensure neutral damage to both water and ice attacks. Zard-X's ability is also good ensuring more wreckage on the battlefield. Zard-X's set is a DDance set. I need to atleast get a DDance up for outspeeding. Dragon Claw and Flare Blitz are both STAB attacks that is boosted with her ability. And finally Roost to restore HP after Flare Blitz recoil.

OLD SET
Charmaine (Charizard) (F) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Solar Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Roost

Charizard-Y is my mega pokemon for this team. With access to Drought, her Flamethrower can be really devastating. I chose Flamethrower over Fire Blast because of the accuracy. Air Slash to take care of Fighting types and Grass type that is named Mega-Venusaur. Dragon Pulse to hit Dragons super effectively and roost to restore health. I choose not to run Solar Beam on her because I have Zapdos and Thundurus for Water type coverage. EVs are maxed in Speed and SpA to ensure that this beast hits them hard.

Jeanne (Togetic) (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 SpD
Bold Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Baton Pass
- Roost
- Air Cutter

I know, I know. Why run a Togetic over a Togekiss? Well, to be honest, I just want her to be the team's mascot. Yeah, I know... Stupid. But still, she saved me a few times so she can be a valuable player on the team. I chose the ability Serene Grace because her only damaging move Air Cutter has high critical ratio, and with the Serene Grace boost, it can hit quite hard especially when I manage to get a Nasty Plot in there. She can also support her teammates by passing her Nasty Plot to either Zapdos, Thundurus, or Landorus. And finally Roost for restoring HP. Eviolite is equipped for more bulk and EVs are maximized in HP and shared with Def and SpDef for eviolite bulkiness.

I would appreciate any suggestion from you guys as this team is still in its building stage and still has a lot of holes that needs fixing. So that's quite it :D

Hi there, I don't really play monotype but I think I could still make some suggestions. Obviously you have a bad matchup against types you are weak to, but you could alleviate this a bit. I feel like Skarmory would be a good addition because it's neutral to Rock and Ice (idk how common these are, but Rock and Ice coverage are fairly common I would imagine) and can provide hazards that help Charizard-Y get some KOes. The best replacement is Xatu. Magic Bounce is just not reliable enough and doesn't really beat many Stealth Rock users. A Xatu switch is also pretty obvious, so the setter can usually just Attack, putting Xatu in a bad postision. Parafusion is also just unreliable. I recommends something like the following:

Skarmory @ Leftovers
252 HP / 252 Def or SpD, or some Speed
Impish or Careful
- Stealth Rock
- Roost
- Whirlwind / Counter / Toxic
- Brave Bird

This helps against Rock and Rock coverage (don't really know how common though), with Counter dealing damage back or Toxic stalling them out. Even though you have Defog yourself, it is still worth using Stealth Rock since there will be many opportunities to get it up.

Next, I don't think Defiant Thundurus makes sense. This is because the most common stat lowering move, Defog, is mostly distributed among Flying-types which Thundurus scares off anyway, and more importantly, the opponent is unlikely to use Defog against a monoflying team because it would remove Rocks from your side as well, which give the opponent a huge advantage because of the Rock weakness. Therefore I suggest something like Nasty Plot | Thunder Wave | Thunderbolt | Focus Blast or Hidden Power Ice. Thunder Wave with Prankster gives you some speed control in an emergency. This also synergizes with Togetic, since you can pass Nasty Plot as well.

Lastly, running something like Fire Blast on Togetic is more helpful to hit Steel types. Togetic should primarily passing Nasty Plot anyway, not trying to sweep. It has low speed, meaning it can bring in a teammate safely. Also, Max Physical Defense is probably the best spread since it can take a lot of hits.

Again I don't know too much about monotype, but I hope I helped!

Edit: you also can't really touch Heatran (once again idk how common it is), the best option would be swapping out Air Slash on Charizard for Earthquake and using a Mild / Hasty Nature. Flamethrower in Sun is around as strong as a Super Effective Air Slash, so it's not too useful. EQ smacks Heatran really hard.

I don't wanna run Skarmory tho, but I will say that this is quite frail against Steel types and rock types (tho Rock is hardly there in monotype, but Steel is quite common) Yes. I can't really hit Heatran so I'm gonna switch out Vivillon with a Landorus instead of a Skarmory as a rock setter.

Lance (Landorus) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic

Sheer Force + Life Orb is an awesome combination.

*****

I also changed Thundurus to a special attacker since yeah, physical really doesn't do anything.

Taylor (Thundurus) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Flash Cannon
- Taunt

Volt Switch for momentum, HP Ice for flying, and ground users. Flash Cannon for Rock, Fairy and Ice coverage and Taunt for setup sweepers, and Pranksters like Sableye, and Klefki.

And with the lack of physical attackers, I finally changed Zard Y to Zard X for physical attacking.

:)
