My new shoddy team

Well, although no one here knows me, I decided to start up some shoddy again. This team prolly needs lots of imporvment, but I like it so far. Haven't tested yet, because I just finished making it, and I kind of want to go to bed. (Sleepy....)

azelf.png

Azelf @ Life orb
Levitate
Naive
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 Hp
-Flamethrower
-Thunderbolt
-Explosion
-Stealth rock

An Azelf set i've come up with after a little experimenting. I don't really care about getting rocks up so much I have a lead for nothing but rocks. Also kinda works as an anti-lead. Thunderbolt kills any gyara leads silly enough to stay in, and flamethrower 2KO's bronzong, who for some reason think im not a threat and stealth rock or gyro ball thinking, ahh, what can an azelf do to zong? Phychic and explosion resist. Aero lead will taunt me, but I can OHKO with thunderbolt, switch out and get up my rocks some other time.

gyarados.png

Gyarados @ Liechi berry
Intimidate
Adamant
24 HP/252 Atk/232 Spe
-Substitute
-Dragon dance
-Waterfall
-Flail

Most people switch when encountering a gyara because they NEED to take care of it with something, and it's a pretty much forced switch to physical attackers, who don't really appreciate the intimidate. Once I get the sub up, I can sub down to my berry and DD on the turn they break the sub. Then with +2 Atk and +1 Speed, not to mention the 200 BP flail and STAB waterfall. However, scizor is becoming popular, So that would be a threat, so scizor would need to be finished.(+1 waterfall does 74.82% - 87.94% to a 4 HP scizor (CB set), 60.77% - 71.39% to a 232 HP 24 Def SD set) SR does not intimidate this gyara, it actally helps me get down to 1 HP faster. Lots of jolteon are timid too, so that would be a threat if I didn't have my own jolteon. (I didn't think about jolteon being a threat until I put one in my team, so lol.

jolteon.png

Jolteon @ Choice Specs
Volt Absorb
Timid
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 HP
-Baton pass
-Thunderbolt
-HP ice
-Shadow ball

I have nothing to baton pass, but switches go right before a dry BP, so I can instantly get a physical attacker on a blissey or something(Like my gyarados, who can then get a free sub on the switch) Once I eliminate the special wall, I can go in for a sweep. Not really that much to say here about threats to jolteon, cause of the dry BP. Protects my gyara from electric attacks, and can kill other gyara.

jirachi.png

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Serene grace
Bold
252 HP/160 Def/64 SpA/32 Spe
-Wish
-Calm mind
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt

Fun ev's with a fun jirachi set. Anyway, Jirachi's bulkyness makes it really easy to spread around some wish or heal itself, and calm mind boosts it on the special side. It sponges special hit well after calm minding, and it's main weaknesses/counters are covered by my next two team members. 32
speed provides just enough to outspeed jolly tyranitar, and can finish one off. This jirachi hits a healthy 404 hp and a solid 304 def. Gets too 354 SpD after a calm mind, with a 378 SpA, which is good on STAB psychic.

vaporeon.png

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Water Absorb
Bold
252 HP/252 Def/4 SpA
-Wish
-Surf
-Toxic
-Protect

Vaporeon is here to counter heatran and infernape who would kill jirachi, provide awesome wish support, and inflict toxic to wear stuff down that I might otherwise have trouble with. Protect for scouting choice users and for instant heal with wish. If I can scout out an electric attack I can go to jolteon. Bold and max defence only gets 240 defence, but I guess the 464 hp part makes up for it. SpD only is 226 with no investment in it, so it actally evens out in the defences.

zapdos.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Pressure
Bold
252 HP/220 Def/36 Spe
-Thunderbolt
-HP grass
-Heat wave
-Roost

Zapdos is here to counter scizor, which could could bullet punch my flail gyara, and also counters lucario who don't carry stone edge, who only manages a 47.66% - 56.25% with extremespeed, and proceeds to eat heat wave. Zapdos also eats earthquakes aimed at jirachi. HP is for swampert, because jolteon already carries ice.

Conclusions: As you can tell, I seem to be a fan of wish >>. Anyways, my team has pretty good synergy. Wish is floating around everywhere, and my guys cover each others counters. I'm kinda new at this, so help would be appreciated.

By the way, here is a simple checklist I have for making my teams, to make sure i'm on the right track.

Special sweeper? Yes. Jolteon
Physical sweeper? Yes. Gyarados
Physical tank/wall? Yes. Zapdos.
Special tank/wall? Yes, Jirachi.
Phazer? No, but I can't really give up a team slot to something, unless I give up azelf, but I already have enough bluky pokemon so i'll see how it works.
Good status effect? Toxic on vaporeon.
Team cover each others weaknesses? Yes. They also pass around lots of wish.
Counter lots of threats? I hope so!

Anyway, thats my team, hope you guys rate.

Ok well you should probably test teams out before you post them cause this team gets raped by a few common threats. First thing that stands out is Tyranitar. DD, CB, and MixTar all have the potential to 6-0 this team. After one DD Tyranitar outspeeds everything (bar Jolteon) and has the ability to OHKO every pokemon. I would probably change out Jirachi for a Bullet Punch Lucario, so you have a decent switch into a CB Tars Crunch/Stone Edge/Pursuit. And if you play a DD Tar, you can at least force it out, or kill it if they decide to stay in. You could even try a Specs Lucario which gives you a great way to free the game up for Gyarados, since they normally switch their Physical Wall in first. If you really want to keep that set, you could try a really bulky Swampert, over Vaporeon, but than you lose coverage on Gyara. You may also want to consider HP Electric on your vaporeon so you can actually deal with Gyara opposed to trying to toxic stall it, but if you like how that's working out so far, you can keep it.

I would also probably try a Standard DD Gyarados, because of the oh so common Priority moves. A life orb Gyarados and Specs Lucario can really damage a lot of teams. Since they generally share some similar counters, Specs Lucario can kill/damage them enough so that Gyarados can come in later and take them out.

Edit: Well I noticed you also have a problem with DD Mence, so I would suggest that you change Jolteons item to Choice Scarf so it gives you the upper hand and not to many people will expect it. It also makes a pretty good Revenge Killer, and late game sweeper, if you play your cards right. If you don't mind changing your team up a bit, you could probably switch out your Zapdos for a Porygon2 but than you lose your Scizor counter, so I would probably just try out the Jolteon for now. I'll add later if I think of something else, but for now I'm pretty tired and can not think of much more.

Well that's my advice, I hope you take it into consideration, and good luck with the team. =D

I am NEVER using a lucario. EVER. Sorry about that, but it's my least favorite pokemon. :/

Well, your kinda right about my tar problem, I guess. Flail gyara is because I have scizor and lucario pretty much covered by zapdos, and I wanted to try it, but I might switch to standard.

I'm not quite sure of how to counter t-tar. I still want stealth rocks but I don't think I can really give up anyone else but azelf...

Can swampert scare away a t-tar if it has good defence and threaten it with surf/earthquake? Swampert can also stealth rock and roar.

Also, to future raters, jirachi can beat blissey one on one, so gyara being my only physical threat is fine.

Edit: ...Choice scarf on a base 130 seems slightly overkill in speed, and how popular is DDmence? I heard specsmence is more popular. But I guess a modest scarf jolteon might work, but I like the idea of having lots of power and the dry BP working.

Man, too many threats to deal with. :/

By the way, I won't be able to test the team for a little, made it late last night and now I have to go to school. I test it afterwards.

24-hour bump. Tested, and seriously thinking about switching azelf with swampert, who could also SR and help me against t-tar. Would also give me a phazer to help out.

Swampert does indeed scare T-tar away, so you can then set up rocks. If you want a good Stealth Rocker, Aerodactyl is also an option.

Aerodactyl@Focus Sash
Jolly - 252 Attack and Speed
Pressure

EQ
Rock Slide
Stealth Rock
Taunt

Sets up rocks with no problems and has a shot of 2HKOing T-tar.

Hmm, thanks for the advice, but I'll go with a swampert lead. Takes care of t-tar leads, sets up rocks, and would give me a phazer.

And all of my wish support would keep him alive.

azelf.png

Azelf @ Life orb
Levitate
Naive
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 Hp
-Flamethrower
-Thunderbolt
-Explosion
-Grass knot (Can help against lead t-tars in sandstorm team and the occasional swamert)
Tyranitar isnt afraid of swampert, so if you want a good tyranitar counter, that doesnt set up SS, use this set:

Torterra w/Leftovers
Nature: Impish
EVs: 212 HP/ 252 Def/ 44 Atk
-SR
-Leech seed
-Wood hammer
-Earthquake/ Reflect
All that wish support makes up for the lack of a recovery move. Stealth rock is standard, leech seed can be used to phaze opponents since it causes a lot of switches and can help to recover HP, Wood hammer is for the sake of an attacking moveand has really high BP, EQ and reflect is a personal choice, but i would say reflect as it helps your team counter your weaknesses to t-tar.
Overall, its a very solid team. Good luck using it! B-)

Torterra...gotta say I would of never of thought of that...
Swampert can 2KO with earthquake, but CB crunch can 3KO...

Y'know, i'll give that torterra a shot. I like it. Would also give me moar physical. It can switch into a DD-tar and counter, but with CB it'll set up reflect might die if the t-tar gets slightly above average damage. However, wood hammer gets 67.08% - 78.96% so if jolteon is still alive he can revenge kill.

Anyway, going to test with torterra I guess, so jolteon is now my lead. I wanna save torterra for when a t-tar comes out.

Haven't seen a hera yet, but I wanna test my flailgyara before I switch it. The rest of my team is doing so well I haven't really gotten much chance to use it.

By the way, tesing with torterra is going well, I just need to see him in action more before I fully decide.
