My OU Team

Gengar (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Haze
Gengar is my sacrificial lamb. It comes in to scout for moves or if I am unsure of what my opponent will do. The focus sash allows it to survive a hit and then either deal damage or remove buffs from opposing pokemon with haze. It allows comes in to take the fighting or ground type moves magnezone, hydreigon, or infernape do not want to take.

Hydreigon (F) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Dark Pulse
Hydreigon is my Special Attacking pokemon and cover for Infernape from psychic type attacks. Also being reasonably bulky normally it comes into take hits no other pokemon may want to take and then counter with a draco meteor which will usually ohko. As well it protects Infernape and magnezone from any ground type attack.

Skarmory @ Custap Berry
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spd
Bold Nature
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Roost
- Whirlwind
Skarmory is my designated lead. It sets up Rocks and spikes while using roost to stay alive and whirlwind to switch an opponents pokemon in and out causing damage from the entry hazards. The custap berry allows skarmory to atleast set up rocks and a layer of spikes against electric and fire leads. As well as a roost on less effective leads.

Infernape (F) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Fire Punch
- ThunderPunch
- Close Combat
- U-turn
Infernape's diverse move set makes it very effective on multiple pokemon and it's speed allows it to get in those hits. Not only does it serve as a revenge killer, but because of it's diverse move set and great attack power it works as a late game sweeper too.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Rapid Spin
Starmie is my teams spinner. It removes any entry hazard allowing gengar to come in with it's focus sash still active. It deals with dragon types and flying with ice beam and clears the field of fighting type for magnezone and hydreigon to come in.

Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SAtk / 84 Spd
Modest Nature
- Signal Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Flash Cannon
Magnezone is my wall. It comes in to take hits and to scout. It's diverse move set allows it to deal with pokemon my other pokemon may have trouble with.

I am sitting around 1100 with this team right now. I am still a new player so I still do not quite know many of the move sets used with a lot of the pokemon i face and because of this i make terrible plays sometimes. My biggest problem though is weather teams. I can not easily handle ninetales or politoed leads. Any help and tips will be greatly appreciated.

I would try to put pictures on your RMT to make it more presentable, but none the less we're here for the team not the pretty pictures(trust me I've had experience with pricks who don't look at rmts because of no pictures[not on smogon but somewhat similar]). Anyways here's my thoughts:

While modest does give a little more "power" when you attack, timid is the better nature. Gengar as a suicide speedy lead doesn't want to lose in speed since it will get out sped by pokemon with similar base speed.
A good example is Terrakion(assuming jolly) who hits 346 speed. This amount of speed unfortunately will leave gengar no time to hit a focus blast on terrakion since modest gengar stops at 319. If you run timid on the other hand, you can outpace jolly terrakion with 350 speed(4 more than its max!). Other pokemon that now out speed you due to the nature include(in OU at least): Latios, Latias, Infernape and Keldeo, all of which Gengar does not want to lose to. The choice of moves is also debatable. While shadow ball and focus blast are fine, psychic and haze stand out as odd. If you are going for a suicidal pokemon, you might want to try destiny bond over psychic since it can take out other pokemon as a nasty farewell gift. Haze is an interesting choice actually, I can see it working which is why I don't actually pressure you to take it off. Its not quite the best move but if you really want to keep it, go ahead. If you do so want to remove it, other usable moves include: thunderbolt and will'o wisp.

Hydreigon can actually use modest a little better since it doesnt have as much speed competition, none the less I urge you to change to timid to avoid the scarcely seen Haxorus(1 less base speed than Hydreigon!) and to outpace pokemon like Kyurem-B. At first I thought HP grass was sort of odd but its a good surprise to kill Gastrodon(and only super effective option at that). Your moveset is fine.

Skarmory I think is good as is, no change needed.

Infernape's moveset is perfectly fine. The only recommendation I have is to switch to a choice scarf since you lack a speedy pokemon(there is gengar, but he's a suicide bomber...). It also gives you an edge on a bunch of pokemon that beat infernape in speed(a damaged starmie/Latios can get taken out by a speedy u-turn from infernape).

A lot like Skarmory, Starmie is fine besides maybe one suggestion I have. That suggestion is to run life orb over leftovers to add extra power behind your hits. The disadvantage to this is that Starmie can't last long. Lucky I do have a remedy for this in the form of the last pokemon...

I actually love magnezone but I feel his role in this team can be done a lot better especially considering the fact that his typing really does suck for walling foes. i think you should outright replace him with a specially defensive Jirachi. Not only does it have better typing, but great stats overall to boost in its effectiveness. here's the set:
385.png
252 HP / 236 SpD / 20 Spe Careful Nature
~ Iron Head
~ Thunder Wave
~ Wish
~ Protect

Iron head + thunderwave gives you some paralysis power on your side of the field plus jirachi's decent 100 attack. Wish is perfect since it can be passed to your teammates to keep them in the game(since your team does contain various threats!). Protect first gives Jirachi more leftovers + a wish heal should Jirachi get low itself.

I understand that you're new and I hope that this review helps you further your experience and enjoyment in competitive pokemon, don't give up!

Thanks for your input I will defiantly try out the team with many of the changes you suspected and from there try to figure out what I like best.

I know you said Hyderigon is a Sp.Att'ing pokemon, but both he and Infernape can run Mixed Sets. This might help with the fact you should switch more.
Ex)
You send out Infernape
The foe sends out Cofagrigus

Instead of switching, if you had a mixed set infernape, you could use Overheat on the Cofagrigus, leaving a dent in his side.

Smogon has registered mixed sets for both of them:

http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/infernape

http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/hydreigon

Hope it helped! :D

Like Agous said, Hydreigon and Infernape were deemed effective due to their wallbreaking abilities. It would make more sense to run mixed sets on the two.

Again, like Agous said... Overheat would be a great choice on Infernape. U-Turn on Hydreigon for scouting purposes, or Superpower gives Hydreigon good coverage. HP Grass seems a little weird to be honest. Aside from that, the team looks rather solid.'

Oh, also. You say you have problems with weather teams. Dugtrio is a great weather pivot/revenge killer.

Dugtrio @ Focus Sash
Nature: Jolly
Evs 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

Reversal (Dugtrio is a perfect candidate for this move)
Earthquake (Main stab)
Stone Edge (Provides Edge-Quake coverage)
Stealth Rock/Memento/Sucker Punch (depending on what your team needs.

I think you should keep your infernapes move set and run him with choice scarf as another user has already suggested and +1 on the jirachi but I feel that body slam has better results while still providing you 60% chance on paralysis. Magnezone is not a Great Wall because of his earth fire and fighting weaknesses.

Starmie should run thunderbolt over psychic for boltbeam coverage and to better dispose of water types. And life orb allows for more power, jiratchi can heal him of residual damage
