My rain dance team.

Here's my rain dance team that i just made. It's working well on shoddy for me so far but I'm having trouble with celebi. So, here it is.

Ludicolo (M) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 204 HP/104 Spd/76 SAtk/124 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Grass Knot
- Surf
- Leech Seed
- Rain Dance
---
My lead pokemon that starts the rain and proceeds to sweep. leech seed is there for blisseys who try to ruin his fun.

Kabutops (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 80 HP/252 Atk/178 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- X-Scissor
- Aqua Jet
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge
---
This guy is amazing! Aqua jet coming off Rain+SD+361 attack stat= ownage. Focus sash is to gaurantee he gets a SD when SR and stuff isn't up. The rest are for coverage.

Kingdra (M) @ Mystic Water
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 168 Atk/88 Spd/252 SAtk
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Rain Dance
- Surf
- Waterfall
- Ice Beam
---
My mixed sweeper. This pokemon just doesn't go down unless it takes another pokemon with it. Surf is there for STAB.The reason i picked ice beam over Draco meteor is because of the special attack drop.

Dewgong (M) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic
- Rest
- Rain Dance
- Surf
---
This is the stallrein of rain dance teams.Toxic on the switch and then rest up. when something that might be able to KO it comes in just switch out.I mainly use him to beat blisseys that don't have aromatherapy.

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Roar/rest
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Electric]
---
Standard clam mind suicune. He becomes my mixed wall once he gets a feww calm minds in.

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Avalanche
- Earthquake
- Rain Dance
- Waterfall
---
My defensive wall. He absorbs the electric attacks and also starts the rain again.

I've been having trouble with celebi and might switch out grass knot on ludicolo for hp bug. Is that fine? And thanks for taking the time to rate my team.

Celebi should be 2 or 3HKO'd by Kingdra's Ice Beam.

Since 5 of your pokemon, pretty much are weak to grass... perhaps you should put in a counter to Celebi, maybe on of your own?? Or Tangrowth over Swampert, as he too resists electric attacks.

Lanturn is always good on a rain dance team, maybe over Dewgong so you have a special sponge too?

4 Rain Dance users, 3 of which with Damp Rock? er I don't think that is exactly the best idea because that potentially means 29 turns of Rain Dance. That is overkill and I personally think Dewgong isn't exactly helping the team. If anything, I would get rid of him for a Pokemon like Gengar who fixes up that Celebi problem. Kabutops + Gengar should handle it fine.

For Kingdra I would use Mystic Water. Kingdra is able to sweep under 4 turns of rain and Mystic Water helps turn some 3hkos into 2hkos and even a few 2hkos into ohkos. For example Blissey should be 2hko by waterfall with mystic water but without it, you are looking at a 3hko at best.

To patch up some other holes, I suggest moving Swampert to Lead and using Stealth Rock / Earthquake / Hydro Pump / Roar. Ludicolo just won't fare well against some of these very common leads which will end up costing you a vital user of Rain Dance. Rain Dance could even go over Roar on Swampert but he does have to lead.

Heracross is also a major problem but luckily Gengar handles him well. If he doesn't you always do have the option of trying Gyarados but it would be hard to fit him in somewhere.

Good Luck.

okay, thanks for the suggestions.I might change dewgong since it hasn't really done much but beat blisseys that get taken care of by kingdra.I'll change it to mystic water. I'll think about changing swapert to a lead since ludicolo has done me a lot of good so far as a lead. I also for got to mention that I'm having trouble with toxic spikes so I might put tentacruel in there. Gengar could work with kabutops and take advantage of the rain using thunder.
