My Team 2.2.4

SO the reason I call it 2.2.4 is from all the tweaks i made to it added up to this final team. With this team Ive had great sucess. But Ive recently hit quiet a steep rut. That rut is called entry hazards. Ive tried a few things but none of them have been working for me. I need help identifying threats to this team and what I could do to improve this team even more. But for now here is the Team Evolution.

I wanted to base my team off of these three. Obviously I needed others.

So I decided to drop Dusk and add Empoleon Umbreon Altaria and Mamoswine. I fared pretty well with this team. Until I hit my first rut. Stronger pokemon. So I needed to change and that was my first RMT.

So this is about Team 2.2 right here after the RMT review. and again thank you to everyone who gave there input especially Dragone. This team was great I was winning battles on WiFi like never before but it still was lacking something.

After alot of testing and alot of fails on the team i finally come up with the great idea of swaping out rotom for jellicent. the perfect partner for mamo who is my lead. this is about team 2.2.1

and now here is the current team. so shall we begin.

MAGNUS
He is my lead. ALWAYS and I will not change him. he has litterally sweept an entire team with 1HP remaining. He is the leader thats all there is.
Magnus (Mamoswine) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Snow Cloak
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Endeavor
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock
---------------------------
593.gif

Like i said before. i believe that jellicent is the perfect teammate for mamoswine. being able to not get hit by a fake out, mach punch, or aqua jet comes in handy. ALOT. also taking little damage from a bullet punch is always a good thing on this team as magnus needs the help. I liked the idea of a bulky backup for magnus but i also like to attack. with all the rain teams running around water spout is bound to do alot of damge along with a stab SB. EB is there for other water types and scald is for well scalding the opponent. he has been a real asset to the team
Jellicent (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SAtk / 84 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Energy Ball
- Scald
- Shadow Ball
------------------------------------------
485.gif

Before he could stay in the air with a single balloon heatran was holding the expert belt. entry hazards and ground attacks KOed him everytime so he never really got to see battle. so i gave him the balloon. he can outspeed alot of his threats. i think i could do without him but just when i start to think that there comes a time when i do need him so idk what to do about this. its set is pretty basic. i like accuacy over power bcuz im very unlucky so i went with flamethrower. DP for the dragons EP for alot of other monsters and HP grass for its checks if i know he can out speed it.
Heatran (M) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Dragon Pulse
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Grass]
----------------------------------------------------
472.gif

ah now this is my prankster. having PH without a toxic orb is great. when ppl see that it didnt get poisoned they think it doesnt have that ability or i can swicth in on a toxic. i gave him more bulk so he can set up with maybe a SD, protect for some PH health and sweep with or without its flying gem. other than that tho he can resist fighting type attack for either mamo or tran.
Gliscor (M) @ Flying Gem
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 SDef / 72 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Acrobatics
- Protect
-----------------------------------------------------

well i was battling for a while when i realized something. I HATE CHANSEY. she could not carry her weight on this team but i liked her support that she supplied so very few times. i ended up with licki after trying just about everyother poke that can learn wish and heal bell. unfortunately she can have the ability cloud nine with the move wish but owell. i gave her more special bulk bcuz latias has the physical side of it. BS gives me a chance for a parahax and dragon tail hits and switches fairly well. coupled with magnus' SR works out well for me. the hp that i get back from wish is enormus and comes in handy alot.
Lickilicky (F) @ Sitrus Berry
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Dragon Tail
- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Body Slam
------------------------------------------------

Dragone
So i named her after the user that suggested her to me. and shes been and asset since. thanx again. its bulk combined with a few CM boost is a deadly combo. and i know what your guna say. Dragon rage is the one that does 40 damage. dragonbreath has 60 bp and comes with a 30% chance of a parahax. while dragon pulse has 90 bp with nothing else. the parahax help in alot of sticky situations. she had roost before but i switched it out with recover. a safer move for her. and roar+SR is very helpful at times.
Dragone (Latias) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Roar
- Calm Mind
- DragonBreath
- Recover
--------------------------------------------------------
but like i said in the beginning hazards tear me apart. but most surprisingly ive come across a new threat. Venusaur. can comebody tell me why we can have a drizzle+ swift swim but we can have drought+chlorophyl? anyways he is a beast that can take out my team. u was thinkin about taking out protect on gliscor and giving him taunt instead but i would like to hear all of your input first. thanx to you all

Well basically, if you have trouble with rut, add spinners. Entry hazards are simply blown away. Why have trouble adding one?? drizzle + swift swim is banned because swift swimmers get "double" STAB under the rain and swift swimmers are incredibly deadly most notably Kingdra as even if you remove the weather, Kingdra can still wreak havoc with a few DDs. For clorophyll, they don't get double STAB and the weather makes them easier to die from the other type benefiting from the sun, fire-types.

Cool team.

I'd like to start off and say that your team is really weak to Alakazam, especially the Focus Sash Four Attack Variant. Alakazam cant 2HKO every member of your team, and OHKO other members of your team. To help remedy this, you can run Jirachi in place of Lickitung. Any specially defensive Jirachi walls the hell out of Alakazam. Jirachi can also provide Wish support for your team, which is useful on any team. Additionally, if Cloyster manages to set up, it can destroy your team after one shell smash as it can hit every member of your team with its three coverage moves.

Since the rest of the things I see wrong with your team are minor, I'm just going to list them.

1. Scald<Surf. Your not trying to be bulky with your Jellicent, your trying to hit as hard as you can. Thus, Surf is the better choice.
2. You need a better Gliscor set. Basically, you just want Ice Fang over Acrobatics and Toxic Orb over Flight Gem. Ice Fang is useful for hitting Dragonite, since you wall the standard set. Toxic Orb is to give you some longevity.
3. Dragon Pulse>Dragon Breath. All the chance of paralysis is nice, the lack of power is sooo noticeable. Dragon Pulse will net you some more kills, and is just a better move in general.

This is the Jirachi set I think you should use
name: Specially Defensive
move 1: Thunder Wave / Body Slam
move 2: Iron Head
move 3: Wish / Protect
move 4: Fire Punch
nature: Careful
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 228 SpD / 32 Spe

Thanx for the explanation pwnage
And to sir I usually do random matchup on WiFi so I need a wifi qualified Pokémon
But ur right zam and cloyster do reak havoc on my team but I think I have an idea to deal with them. And As for gliscor I see what your saying. But how about instead of ice fang I put in fire fang? U know to help with ferro and forrtress? I don't feel like fire is spread around enough. And as for latias. Wouldn't a fet CM boost raise the power of the move at the same time giving me Special Defense boost making the power issue invalid. And I can usually get in a few boost. But I'll try DP again to see how it fares

You always want Dragon Pulse. 60 Power is so weak, even after STAB. Fire Fang is useless cause then you're walled by dragons. if you want, u can run taunt over protect so you can set up all over Ferro and forre

Hey Dex! Nice team you got there. I have an improvement though:

You say you're having trouble with hazards? Then I suggest replacing Jellicent with Starmie. Starmie can fill almost every role Jelli can and some more. Here's the set:

Starmie @ Lefties
Nature: Timid, Ability: Natural Cure
Evs: 252 HP/4 SAtk/252 Spd
Hydro Pump/Ice Beam or Thunderbolt/Rapid Spin/Recover

Starmie is still farely bulky, can spin, and still posses an offensive threat. It can also take all those hits you mentioned. The EVs are for max bulk and speed, but SAtk could be used over HP. Ice Beam can hit Venu in a pinch, but TBolt hits water types.

Hi I would recommend changing gliscors ability to sand veil and changing protect for roost, this will give you an actually reliable way of healing because most OU users of toxic happen to be water types or opposing gliscor, the water types you can beat down hard with jellicent or set up on with latias, speaking of which I would recommend changing latias' roar out for substitute, it will give you a better option against sun teams and volt-turn. Great team and hope I helped!

Toxic Orb is always better than Roost because Gliscor is then unaffected by status, and it gets excellent recovery.

To Pippy thanx for the suggestion I'll try it out. And Sir u were right I'll go with Ice Fang over Fire. And to Casey sorry but I'm Guna have to agree with Sir. Toxic status lets me absorb other status like sleep or burn

but then you can't use acrobatics, i was was just trying to keep with your set, if ice fang then definately toxic heal

Hi there, you may not realise it but some of the pokemon you're using make great building blocks to a successful hail team!

I personally would swap heatran and jellicent to their respective defensive sets; heatran jellicent and latias have great synergy together and would work well as a sort of unique defensive core. I think Lickylicky is the most replaceable mon on your team, which i would swap for abomasnow :D. From your movesets lickylicky doesn't keep up with the offensive nature of your team, and hainvg looked again you're using some very bulky pokes offensively, which could be put to better use defensively. Plus, the only pokes which suffer from status are jellicent and latias, and i suppose mam with burn but it won't last long anyway with the endeavour set. but even then refresh could be used on latias.

Nitpicks: EV's on latias are wrong, as is dragonbreath, if you wanted a slightly bulkier latias though you could sacrifice some speed EV's for defense, But i'll post the sets below.

Heatran@leftovers
flash fire, calm nature
252hp/160spe/100sdef
lava plume
roar
protect/rest
stealth rock/sleep talk

absorbs electric/grass/ghost/dragon/bug/steel, sets up rocks, burns

Jellicent@leftovers
water absorb, bold nature
248hp/216def/44spe
scald
recover
taunt
toxic/will o wisp

synergy: water/fighting/bug/ice, burns, breaks stall, poisons, heals.

Latias@leftovers
timid nature, levitate
252spe/252hp/4spa
-calm mind
-dragon pulse
-recover
-hidden power [fire]/refresh/roar

synergy: electric, water, fire blah blah blah.

Choose an abomasnow set, all have their unique purposes http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/abomasnow

Good luck!

Hmmm ive never thought of using a weather team let alone a Hail team. ill have to try that out to see how good i can be thanx Coughing

Hello!
I see that you made lots of changes, and I like this team. I see that you play this team very defensive, so you might want more hazards. Like, abuse that Jellicent with spinblocking >:D

Possible Threats:

Rotom-W + Scizor: Yeah, if this core is played properly, your dead. Simple as that. You need something for this VERY COMMON core [on sand/rain/no-weather/hail teams].

Other than that, I have to honestly say, this team has little flaws. I do think you need more hazards to fully abuse your pokemon, as, why waste a spinblocker? You have no offense whatsoever apart from Mamoswine, so, we might need to fix this, but maybe not XD

Jellicent:

Run a defensive set. Water Spout works better that way [do me a favor, and go to the smogondex for the set, as, I am soooo tired XD]

Gliscor:

Defensive EV's over SDef ev's

Lickilicki:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
What does it do for your team? Nothing, except wish support! I recommend a Specially Defensive Jirachi as they can resist dragons and add suport against them and still provide wish support.

Or, possible, you could use something like Ferrothorn instead with Spike support, along with thunder wave and leech seed. I would run the sassy one, as they are more SDefive. It would abuse your teams bulk a bit better. Either one will work.

Latias:

Substitute>Roar, it blocks hazard and enables set up. Run coughings sets, good team.

GL,
Anthonias

well after lots of testing out all of you suggestions i have a new team.
so what i did was replace Jellicent with vaporeon/Water absorb+wish bell and replaced lickilicky with standard ferrothorn although it wasnt very good. too many fighing types. so i think im going to replace him with a forretress.
