[OVERVIEW]

Naganadel's high base Speed and strong typing make it one of the best Tailwind setters in the tier, allowing it to get the first Tailwind off frequently, and letting it match up favorably against common Pokemon such as Rillaboom, Tapu Fini, and Urshifu-R. Naganadel's Tailwind utility is appreciated on many structures, but shines brightest on offensive archetypes where teammates such as Heatran, Zygarde, and Urshifu-R can get an immediate Speed boost and start firing off strong attacks. Naganadel appreciates all three of these Pokemon's ability to deal with Heatran and other Steel-types, while in return Naganadel deals with Tapu Fini as well as Rillaboom for the latter two. However, Naganadel is completely useless into Heatran, and its frailty leaves it susceptible to being KOed early, therefore limiting its potential to set up multiple Tailwinds. It also struggles into opposing forms of speed control, especially Trick Room, and usually can't fit Protect in its repertoire due to it wanting all 3 of its attacks and Tailwind. Its inability to fit Protect and bad matchup against opposing speed control expose its poor bulk even more, while also meaning it cannot block the everpresent Fake Out and instead must rely only on its partner keeping it safe. Lastly, Naganadel is heavily prediction reliant as failing to get KOs puts it in danger.

[SET]
name: Fast Tailwind
move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Sludge Bomb
move 3: Flamethrower
move 4: Tailwind
item: Life Orb
ability: Beast Boost
nature: Timid / Modest
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* Draco Meteor threatens common Dragon-types such as Kyurem-B and Zygarde while acting as Naganadel's strongest move against Pokemon it checks such as Urshifu-R, Landorus, and Volcanion. However, the Special Attack drop usually forces it to switch out, as its damage output is no longer as useful.

* Sludge Bomb covers Rillaboom and Tapu Fini, with the latter being the most common Dragon-immune Pokemon. It's also helpful for picking up KOs on weakened targets without dropping Naganadel's Special Attack.

* Flamethrower targets Steel-types such as Genesect and Metagross that Naganadel's STAB moves are useless against, but it notably cannot touch Heatran.

* As one of the fastest Tailwind setters, Naganadel can quickly give a Speed boost to its teammates to gain the upper hand.

* Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment and a Life Orb allows Naganadel to hit as hard and fast as possible. A Timid nature allows Naganadel to get a Speed boost from Beast Boost and always Speed tie with other Naganadel, while a Modest nature gives it a threatening Special Attack boost and allows it to deal as much damage as possible.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Fire Blast can be run over Flamethrower for the extra strength and the ability to 2HKO Amoonguss through Sitrus Berry, but its low accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. Protect can be used over Fire-type coverage or Tailwind to keep Naganadel safe from Fake Out and other attacks, but then it cannot threaten Steel-types or provide speed control. Focus Sash can be used to live any one hit and guarantee the setup of at least one Tailwind, but Naganadel's damage output is significantly reduced without Life Orb.

Overview
  • Rewrite the Gen 8 dynamic speed part. It's a reference to time which we want to avoid, and just saying Gen 8 dynamic is not enough as a justification anyway.
  • "Naganadel is completely useless into Heatran" - say why
  • "usually can't fit Protect in its repertoire" - say why
  • For the last line, we generally try to avoid referencing player decision making, in this case "cannot afford to make the wrong calls" being the problematic bit. I get what we are going for here, just rewrite it a bit.
Set & Set Details
  • Slash Modest, mention Modest in Set Details, and mention what the nature choice does relative to its performance with Beast Boost
OO
  • Add a bit on Fire Blast being stronger in general before going into the bit about the 2HKO
  • Remove hazards mention

  • Just say that Heatran can take any of Naga's attacks comfortably, cut the overly verbose writing
  • In the antepenultimate sentence, it can be unclear what "both" in the last clause is, so rewrite it a bit to maximize clarity.
  • Prediction reliant is still a player-referencing bit, would rather just say "can't afford to make inefficient attacks as failing to get KOes puts it in danger" or something to that effect.
  • Name Lando-I as a Draco target.
2/2 get this out of here

wouldn't that be fine, dear

[OVERVIEW]

Naganadel's high base Speed and strong typing leads makes make it one of the best Tailwind setters in the tier, allowing it to get the first tailwind Tailwind off frequently, while its Dragon / Poison typing lets and letting it match up favorably against common Pokemon such as Rillaboom, Tapu Fini, and Urshifu-R. Naganadel's Tailwind utility is appreciated on many structures, but shines brightest on Offensive offensive archetypes where teammates such as Heatran, Zygarde, and Urshifu-R can get an immediate speed Speed boost and start firing off strong attacks. Naganadel appreciates all three of the Pokemons' these Pokemon's ability to deal with Heatran and other Steel-types, while in return Naganadel deals with Tapu Fini as well as Rillaboom for the latter two. However, Naganadel is completely useless into Heatran due to it taking any of Naganadel's attacks easily, and its frailty leaves it susceptible to being KOed early, therefore limiting its potential to set up multiple Tailwinds. It also struggles into opposing forms of speed control, especially Trick Room, and usually can't fit Protect in its repertoire due to it wanting all 3 of its attacks and Tailwind. (remove comma add period) and both the lack of Its inability to fit Protect and poor matchup against opposing speed control expose its poor bulk even more, (add comma remove period) while also meaning it cannot block the ever-present (add hyphen) Fake Out and instead must rely only on its partner keeping it safe. Lastly, Naganadel can't afford to make inefficient attacks inefficient? this is ambiguous, it's probably better to just say it's prediction reliant as failing to get KOs puts it in danger.

Fire Blast can be run over Flamethrower for the extra strength and the oppurtunity opportunity, but I'd probably reword this to ability / capability / whatever to 2HKO Amoonguss through Sitrus Berry, but its low accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. Protect can be used over Fire-type coverage or Tailwind to keep Naganadel safe from Fake Out and other attacks, but then it cannot touch threaten may be more appropriate here but this isn't wrong per se, up to u Steel-types or provide speed control. Focus Sash can be used to live any one hit and guarantee setting the setup of at least one Tailwind, but Naganadel's damage output is significantly reduced in return. without Life Orb.
